Abstract

A comparison of text classification techniques for detecting fake news in the digital information age has been discussed in this study, with a focus on the application of Deep Learning methods, specifically Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN). The increasing spread of fake news through digital platforms emphasizes the importance of developing effective methods for identifying inaccurate information. In this study, a news dataset was collected from various sources, and both models were applied for text classification analysis. The performance of the model was then measured based on accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. The results showed that although both have their own advantages, better results in terms of processing speed and classification accuracy were found in CNN compared to RNN. These findings provide important insights for the development of more efficient and effective fake news detection systems in the digital age.

Abstract

Hospitals face significant challenges in managing large and complex data, and Hospital Information Systems (SIRS) are essential for supporting hospital operations. However, many SIRS projects experience delays and failures due to rigid development approaches. Agile-Scrum is proposed as a more flexible and adaptive solution, emphasizing collaboration and iterative processes to enhance the quality of healthcare services. This qualitative case study, conducted in a hospital with an internal development team, used observations, document analysis, and semi-structured interviews with 10 participants, including developers, a Scrum Master, and key hospital stakeholders. The findings indicate that implementing Agile-Scrum led to a 35% increase in team collaboration, a 40% improvement in responsiveness to changing requirements, and a 30% boost in overall project efficiency. The study highlights the effectiveness of Agile-Scrum in managing the complexities of SIRS development, especially through backlog organization, sprint planning, and stakeholder feedback. The study suggests further research to assess the long-term impact of Agile-Scrum in other information system development contexts.

Abstract

From field observations, the process of submitting procurement requests for goods and services at CV Radra Sejahtera is still conducted offline and has not been well-organized. Currently, clients requiring procurement must first send a formal letter to CV Radra Sejahtera, which is then processed by the company. This approach is considered slow due to the absence of an integrated system that allows clients to submit requests directly. This study aims to develop a system that facilitates the connection between CV Radra Sejahtera and its clients or users online. With this system, clients can directly submit their procurement needs without the need for manual letter submissions. The objective of this research is to build an information system that assists in the submission and management of goods and services procurement at CV Radra Sejahtera. The system is designed and developed as a web-based platform using the Extreme Programming (XP) methodology. XP is chosen due to its advantages in shortening development time and simplifying bureaucratic processes, thereby accelerating the procurement request process. Based on the research findings, the developed system improves time efficiency by 50% in the request submission process. Previously, the submission process took an average of two days, but with the system, clients can complete their procurement requests in less than one day. Therefore, this system greatly benefits both the clients and CV Radra Sejahtera.

Abstract

Abstract. Poisson regression models discrete data and assumes equidispersion, where the variance equals the mean. It is frequently observed that discrete data exhibits a variance exceeding its mean, a phenomenon known as over-dispersion. Over-dispersion may be addressed through various methodologies, such as Generalized Poisson Regression (GPR) and Negative Binomial Regression (NBR). Model selection is predicated on the smallest Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) value. This study aimed to identify the best model in the comparison of models between GPR and NBR based on the smallest AIC value so that it can be known what factors influence the number of cases of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) in Indonesia in 2022. The results of the study showed that the NBR model was the best model, with an AIC value of 688.49. Factors that influence cases of pulmonary TB in Indonesia in 2022 are the percentage of households that have access to proper sanitation, nursing staff, and the percentage of education levels completed are high school or equivalent.

Abstract

This study critically examines the complex relationship between mass media consumption and political literacy in Indonesia as the nation approached its 2024 general election. Employing a qualitative research methodology analysing high-quality secondary data from multiple sources, the study investigates how various media platforms influence citizens' political knowledge, critical thinking skills, and electoral participation readiness. Research findings reveal significant disparities in political literacy across demographic groups, with digital divides reinforcing information asymmetries between urban and rural populations. Social media emerged as a dominant information source for 68% of voters, yet 73% of respondents demonstrated limited ability to identify misinformation. Traditional media retained significant influence among older voters (65+ demographic), while digital platforms dominated youth engagement. The study identified five prevailing patterns of media-influenced political literacy: platform-dependent knowledge variation, algorithmic reinforcement of political polarization, diminished substantive policy discourse, widespread circulation of electoral misinformation, and variable media literacy skills across demographic segments. These dynamics created a fragmented information ecosystem where political literacy was undermined by information overload, partisan media consumption, and digital platform manipulation. The research contributes to media effects theory by proposing a contextually sensitive integrated framework of political literacy development specific to emerging democracies navigating digital transformation. The study recommends coordinated multi-stakeholder approaches to political literacy enhancement, emphasizing critical media consumption skills, platform accountability, and civic education initiatives tailored to Indonesia's unique socio-political context.

Abstract

Supply Chain Management (SCM) has evolved into a fundamental element of modern business strategy, extending beyond the manufacturing sector to encompass the service and retail industries. SCM involves the application of management science and practice throughout the supply chain, aimed at achieving competitive advantage amid intense industry competition. In an increasingly digitalized business landscape, SCM is no longer focused solely on the physical movement of products and financial flows. This study aims to analyze and understand the life experiences of owners and managers of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) restaurants in Pangkep Regency related to supply chain management and adopting supply chain management information systems (SCMIS). The background of the study reveals a gap between the 'Sollen' of efficient SCMIS and the 'Sein' of MSME restaurants, which still face various operational and financial challenges due to limited technology and manual processes. This study identifies the need for an in-depth understanding of the challenges and opportunities for adopting SCMIS from the subjective perspective of MSME actors. This study used a qualitative approach, descriptive phenomenological design, and Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) data analysis with Saldana coding techniques supported by NVivo software; this study involved 20 informants from MSME restaurants in Pangkep Regency. The research findings present themes that emerge from the informants' experiences and are visualized in a flow relationship framework. The main contribution of this study lies in providing a rich and nuanced understanding of the dynamics of technology adoption in the context of MSME restaurants, which can be the basis for practical recommendations and the development of more relevant policies.
