Abstract

This study aims to develop and implement a microservices-based information system for managing research and community service data at Universitas Pelita Bangsa. The previous system had several shortcomings, including manual and fragmented data management, leading to data duplication, slow reporting processes, and limited access to information for lecturers. This research employed Agile Development methodology to ensure that the developed system effectively meets user needs. The results indicate that the implementation of a microservices architecture significantly improves the efficiency and effectiveness of data management, accelerates the reporting process, and facilitates easier access to information for lecturers. Additionally, the system optimizes collaboration among stakeholders by providing seamless and integrated access to research and community service data. Consequently, this microservices-based information system has proven capable of enhancing the quality of faculty services, while also offering flexibility for future system development in line with the faculty's needs and growth.

Abstract

Posyandu (Integrated Service Post) plays a vital role in improving community health by providing essential health services and recording health data. However, observations have shown that the process of recording and processing health data is still done manually, leading to delays in decision-making and inefficiencies in time management. This study aims to develop a web-based information system to monitor Posyandu activities, streamlining the processes of data recording, processing, and reporting, which are essential for health-related decision-making. The research employs the Prototype method and PIECES analysis framework to design and develop the system. The system is built using the PHP programming language and MySQL database. The implementation is carried out on a local network, with functional testing performed using Blackbox testing and software quality assessed using User Acceptance Testing (UAT) through a questionnaire method. The results show that the proposed system improves data processing efficiency, enhances the accuracy of health reports, and supports Posyandu cadres in delivering information quickly and making timely decisions. The system reduces dependency on manual data management, improving overall service delivery. The findings suggest that further research is needed in related areas to enhance system performance and service quality. Additionally, the system should be developed further with the latest technology to ensure effective and efficient health services.

Abstract

Technology that develops very rapidly brings many changes, especially in the development of medical records in hospitals that are increasing. Electronic medical records bring many benefits, one of which is improving the quality of services in hospitals. The medical records used at Hermina Arcamanik Hospital are mostly electronic-based, including reporting. However, problems were found in the medical record installation, namely, there were several reports that had not been managed optimally. This is because reporting still uses google spreadsheets which requires data to be moved manually one by one, so it takes a long time, and the quality of reporting becomes less accurate. A real example of this problem can be seen in the process of reporting patient Mortalitys. Meanwhile, accurate and systematic reporting of Mortality data is essential in supporting decision-making in hospitals. Therefore, the design of a patient Mortality reporting information system is urgently needed to make time efficient and improve the quality of reports. The method used in designing this system is extreme programming and web-based. The results of this information system design are able to shorten the time to make Mortality reports and can produce accurate data

Abstract

The rapid development of science and technology in the education sector has prompted institutions like the elementary school to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of information and legal management. This study aims to develop a Legal Documentation and Information Network (JDIH) application to facilitate the publication of school regulations. The primary objective of this research is to create an application that simplifies the management of student and school information, ensuring compliance with educational laws, and fostering an adaptive educational environment. The research used the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, utilizing the Waterfall Model approach, which includes planning, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Data was gathered through observation, interviews, and literature studies, ensuring comprehensive insights into the existing regulatory management practices at the school. The JDIH application was successfully developed and implemented at the elementary school. It improved the accessibility of school regulations, ensuring better legal compliance and enhancing transparency. Positive feedback was received from respondents, with an average satisfaction level of 83.3%. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of the JDIH application in streamlining regulatory management. It is expected that the application will be expanded to other schools, further improving the management of legal information and promoting a more transparent and efficient educational environment.

Abstract

The Land Asset Mapping Information System of the Palu City Local Government was developed to streamline digital land record management and enhance public service delivery. However, users experience substantial delays averaging 3-5 minutes per query during manual data searches. This study aims to optimize search efficiency by implementing the Brute force string-matching algorithm, allowing users to retrieve precise land records through direct pattern input. A waterfall system development methodology was systematically applied across five phases: requirements analysis, system design, PHP/JavaScript implementation, White Box testing, and maintenance. The research team collaborated closely with 12 technical officers from the City Spatial Planning and Land Office to validate system requirements and evaluate real-world performance. The implementation of the Brute force algorithm reduced average search times by 68\% (from 185s to 59s) while maintaining 100\% accuracy in test datasets containing 5,000+ land records. Rigorous testing confirmed the algorithm's reliability across various edge cases, including partial matches and special character inputs. The application of the Brute force method has transformed the system's search functionality, particularly for frequent queries involving land parcel IDs and owner names. These improvements have increased daily processing capacity by 40\%, significantly benefiting urban planning and dispute resolution workflows. While demonstrating excellent performance for medium-sized datasets, the solution presents opportunities for future enhancement through hybrid approaches combining Brute force with indexing techniques for large-scale deployments beyond 50,000 records.

Abstract

Water is essential for human life and activities, but its supply depends on the proximity and interconnection network with the populations or cities that need it. Moreso, the proper functioning of water supply systems (WSS) relies on the expertise and experience of field workers who rely on information from maps or field surveys, whose processes and mapping methods are labour-intensive, time-consuming, and are done relatively infrequently. This study explores modern spatial databases for meaningful technical progress using the Quantum Geographic information system (QGIS) server to host a web-based geocoding platform to view the production, transmission, and delivery of drinking water from the source to household users according to the capacities planned for by WSS. The resultant results met expert expectations on the designed web system and showed information on pipe network, road connection, drinking water distribution layout, catchment boundary, slope, and sub-catchment geometric properties demonstrating the utility of a web-based online Map plugin in the GIS environment as a data management, scenario analysis, and decision support tool in managing water infrastructure for an expanding metropolitan city like Ilorin, Kwara State.

Abstract

This qualitative descriptive study investigates the application of English-speaking skills in authentic service encounters at the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) in Banyuwangi, East Java. Drawing on approximately 10 observed interactions with both domestic and international tourists—including visitors from Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia—the study identifies four key stages of communication: information delivery, feedback provision, negotiation, and agreement confirmation. These stages reveal the strategic use of clarification, turn-taking, and negotiation techniques in real-time exchanges. The findings suggest that effective and adaptive spoken English significantly contributes to improved service quality and tourist satisfaction. By analyzing how TIC staff engage in interactive speaking practices, this research highlights the practical importance of communicative competence in tourism settings and provides insights for English for Specific Purposes (ESP) education.

Abstract

In this study, COBIT 2019 and ITIL V4 are compared in the context of managing IT risk. Through systematic literature review (SLR), the theoretical and practical foundations of both frameworks are evaluated. COBIT 2019 offers a structured approach, while ITIL emphasizes adaptive operational practices. Analysis of strengths and weaknesses helps organizations choose an approach that aligns with their strategic objectives. With this understanding, organizations can enhance their ability to manage IT risks and achieve business goals effectively.

Abstract

Understanding customer purchasing behavior is essential for predicting customer loyalty, which directly impacts a company's long-term success. This research aims to determine the effect of chi-square and information gain feature selection in optimizing customer loyalty classification performance, compared to pure kNN. Using a public customer purchasing behavior dataset from Kaggle, containing 10,000 data, 12 attributes with loyalty_status as the label (Gold, Regular, Silver). Evaluating performance by accuracy, kappa, classification error, recall, precision, and RMSE. The highest accuracy 91.99% was obtained by kNN k=3 with information gain, kappa 0.844, precision 95.44%, recall 86.30%, with the lowest classification error 8.01% and the second lowest RMSE 0.245, after kNN k=3 with chi-square. Results show that feature selection has a positive impact on classification, increasing accuracy and reducing errors, with the combination of the kNN k=3 method and information gain proving successful in obtaining high accuracy in classifying customer loyalty.

Abstract

Health is a condition that enables individuals to live to their full potential. The Field Work Practice (PKL) activities use a descriptive approach, which is an activity that describes or outlines the picture of a health problem. In this case, the issue addressed is Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). Kertosari Village is one of the villages located in the Babadan District, Ponorogo Regency, East Java. The method of Problem identification based on secondary data found that there are 10 priority diseases in Kertosari Village, with hypertension being the main concern. Problem identification based on primary data was conducted through Focus Group Discussions, In-Depth Interviews, and questionnaire collection. The results was found that the residents of Kertosari Village have a good level of knowledge (54.55%), but the community's attitude is assessed as less favorable (62.12%). Alternative solutions were sought using the MEER system, and priority solutions were found, including the creation of hypertension-friendly recipes, education related to hypertension, cooking demonstrations, and training on digital-based data recording and reporting. Evaluation of activities is carried out after the program is implemented, including Pre-Test, Post-Test, and testimonials about the media.
