Abstract

Tourism is considered to have significant potential to drive Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and is a key focus in Indonesia's economic development strategy. In 2021, Indonesia's tourism ranking rose significantly from 44th to 32nd place in the Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI), surpassing Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. However, according to the TTDI, Indonesia still faces weaknesses in tourism service infrastructure, socioeconomic resilience, and ICT readiness, which have hindered the even development of tourism and caused it to remain concentrated in Bali as the main contributor. This study aims to examine the impact of tourist expenditures, tourism productivity, the ICT index, and internet users on the GRDP of priority tourism destination provinces from 2018 to 2022. The study incorporates a COVID-19 dummy variable. A quantitative approach is employed, utilizing secondary data in panel data format. The cross-sectional sample includes 10 provinces, while the time-series sample is annual, spanning the period from 2018 to 2022. The findings reveal that tourist expenditures do not have a significant effect, while tourism productivity, the ICT index, and internet users have a positive and significant effect on GRDP in the priority tourism destination provinces during 2018–2022.

Abstract

The effectiveness of an information system is a key determinant of user pleasure, specifically within digital gaining knowledge of platforms. This studies seeks to evaluate the satisfaction degree of customers towards the the Online Lecture Information System (SIKULI) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau, employing the EUCS method. Abstract

Soft skills organizations face significant challenges due to manual management practices, leading to scattered participant data, lack of proper documentation, and manual archiving. The main issue is the absence of a dedicated soft skills training information system. This study aims to develop and evaluate a soft skills training information system to address these organizational problems. The Rapid Application Development (RAD) method was chosen for its ability to accommodate changing requirements and enable rapid deployment of the system. System acceptance testing was conducted using the User Acceptance Test (UAT) method with 70 respondents, covering 20 questionnaire items related to system functionality, user interface experience, performance, efficiency, and productivity. The UAT results indicated that the system received an average acceptance rate of 80.4% for functionality, 76.8% for user experience and interface design, 77.3% for performance, and 78.7% for efficiency and productivity. These results show that the soft skills training information system meets user requirements with an overall interpretation score of "Good." The developed system is considered acceptable and capable of supporting soft skills training activities at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo.

Abstract

The website of the Riau Provincial Plantation Agency plays a vital role in supporting public information and administrative services. However, the use of information technology also introduces various risks that may disrupt system operations. This study aims to analyze information technology risks associated with the website using the ISO 31000:2018 risk management framework. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing interviews, observations, and documentation. The risk management process was conducted through the stages of risk identification, analysis, evaluation, treatment, as well as monitoring and review. The findings identified nine main risks. Eight of them were categorized as medium-level risks, including lightning, fire, human error, data corruption, server downtime, hardware damage, overheating, and power outages. One risk—software updates—was classified as low-level. This study is limited to information technology risks identified internally, based on primary data collected from the website management team. The findings provide risk mitigation recommendations that can serve as guidelines to enhance the security and continuity of the information system within the Riau Provincial Plantation Agency.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology in recent decades has significantly impacted various sectors, including education. The D3 Informatics Engineering Study Program at the Faculty of Information Technology, Satya Wacana Christian University, needs to formulate a strategic plan to leverage technology in addressing educational challenges. This study identifies the lack of documentation for student assignments and projects as a key issue, which hampers accessibility and evaluation processes. The Anita Cassidy method and the Design Thinking approach are employed to develop an information system strategy that aligns with academic objectives and supports business processes. The Anita Cassidy method—through the stages of visioning, analysis, direction, and recommendation—facilitates the alignment of information system strategies with academic goals, resulting in recommended system features for development. Meanwhile, Design Thinking is applied to interface design development, focusing on user interaction to enhance the likelihood of system adoption and user satisfaction. This study aims to produce information system recommendations and user interface designs for the archiving of assignments in the D3 Informatics Engineering Study Program, with the goal of improving efficiency and effectiveness in managing student assignments.

Abstract

Business Process Reengineering (BPR) is a strategic initiative to achieve fundamental improvements in organizational performance. However, research shows that up to 70% of BPR initiatives fail, often due to unclear value delivery and ineffective process redesign. This study aims to address that gap by redesigning the recruitment and selection process using an information economics approach evaluating the value of information to drive better decision making and resource allocation. The research applied process mapping, identification of non-value-adding activities, and value-based analysis at each stage, followed by the integration of digital tools to streamline workflows and improve data accuracy. A case study in a large organization was conducted to test the effectiveness of the redesigned model. The key findings of this study are its greatest strength and must be explicitly highlighted to convey its impact: the redesigned process resulted in a 67.3% reduction in processing time and a Return on Investment (ROI) of 1,085.17% demonstrating not only operational efficiency but also clear financial gain. These outcomes validate the role of information economics in successful BPR and offer a replicable framework for other organizations. By combining BPR with the discipline of information economics, this study offers a replicable, outcome-oriented framework that addresses one of the most common reasons BPR initiatives fail unclear value delivery. This contribution is particularly critical in HR contexts, where decisions are often qualitative and under digitized. The findings provide actionable guidance for organizations seeking to future-proof their HR processes while avoiding the pitfalls that undermine most BPR efforts.

Abstract

CV Tunggal Putra Jaya is a building materials store that still manages inventory manually using Microsoft Excel. This approach leads to data inaccuracies, difficulties in real-time stock monitoring, and risks of overstocking or stock shortages. This research aims to design a web-based inventory system to address these issues, with key features such as real-time stock monitoring, order and pre-order creation, and automatic financial report generation. The system is developed using the Agile Scrum method with a sprint duration of 14 days to ensure flexibility to changes in requirements. The implementation results show an efficiency increase of up to 92.73%, marked by a reduction in invoice creation time from 5–10 minutes to 1 minute, stock monitoring from 30 minutes to 1 minute, and financial report generation from 10 minutes to 1 minute. The system has also successfully passed Black Box testing for all features, and user validation indicates that this system can significantly reduce working time.

Abstract

The Academic Information System (SIMAK) at Sriwijaya University plays a crucial role in facilitating student academic activities; however, it faces several technical issues that affect user satisfaction, including server outages and challenges in data access. This dissatisfaction serves as a vital metric for evaluating the system's effectiveness. This study aims to analyze student sentiment regarding SIMAK utilizing the Naïve Bayes method. A total of 92 tweets were gathered from Twitter through web scraping, which were then categorized into manually labeled training and test datasets for model validation. The data underwent processing that included text cleaning and the application of Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) to assess the significance of words within a collection of documents. The evaluation results indicated that the model achieved an accuracy of 65%, with a precision of 63% for negative sentiment and a recall of 100%. In contrast, positive sentiment exhibited a low precision of 12.5% and an F1-score of 22.2%, highlighting difficulties in identifying positive sentiment due to data imbalance. The model demonstrated greater effectiveness in identifying user grievances, particularly concerning server disruptions, data delays, and challenges in completing Study Plan Cards and accessing grades. These findings provide valuable insights for SIMAK maintainers to enhance system reliability and user experience. Future research should aim to broaden data coverage and explore alternative analytical methods to yield more representative outcomes.

Abstract

The LLDIKTI Region VIII office is an institution responsible for facilitating and supervising higher education institutions in the Bali and Nusa Tenggara regions, particularly through the UK3 unit in managing archives. Currently, the archival management at the LLDIKTI Region VIII office relies solely on the centralized Electronic Official Document Information System (SINDE) provided by the government, without any local system to support independent backup and digitalization of records. This creates issues when there are disruptions in access to the central system or when more flexible, localized archive management is required. Therefore, there is a need for technology that enables local backup and the digitalization of physical documents into digital formats. This study adopts the Research and Development (R&D) method, emphasizing a balance between theory, design, and implementation based on user needs, existing problems, and user preferences. The result of this study is the design of a web-based User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) for the Digital Archive Center Information System of LLDIKTI Region VIII (PADI8). System usability testing was conducted using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method with five respondents, consisting of UK3 archival staff (3 women and 2 men). Data were collected through interviews and direct observation of system usage. The SUS scores were 83.7 from the admin perspective and 83 from the general user perspective. Based on the SUS interpretation criteria, the system falls into Grade A, with an adjective rating of “excellent” and an acceptability range of “acceptable,” indicating a high level of user satisfaction. This system is expected to improve the office’s efficiency, security, and autonomy in digital archive management and serve as an initial step toward sustainable digital transformation within the LLDIKTI Region VIII environment.

Abstract

Effective employee management is a critical factor in enhancing operational efficiency and organizational competitiveness. PT Sekawan Sahabat Sejati has faced challenges in employee administration due to manual processes using Microsoft Excel. These challenges include payroll calculation errors, difficulty in tracking data revisions, and delays in salary processing. This study aims to design and implement a web-based employee management information system to address these issues. The Agile Scrum methodology was employed, with data collected through field observations, stakeholder interviews, and literature reviews. The system was designed using an Entity Relationship Diagram and developed with the Next.js framework, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL as the database. The results show that the system can accurately automate base salary, allowances, and tax deductions, significantly reducing manual errors and accelerating the payroll process. System testing demonstrated notable improvements: payroll report generation time was reduced from 15 minutes to 4.02 seconds, attendance processing from 2 minutes to 3.08 seconds, creation of 500 employee records from 60 seconds to 1.2 seconds, and shift configuration storage from 3 minutes to 0.81 seconds. The application has proven to enhance administrative tasks by making them more efficient, transparent, and accountable. For future development, it is recommended to add mobile features, conduct user acceptance testing, and strengthen security through multi-factor authentication.
