Abstract

This tracer study investigates the employment outcomes and career progression of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) graduates from Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) - Kalamansig Campus from 2018 to 2022. The research focuses on several key aspects: sociodemographic and academic profiles, employment status, the relevance of the BSIT degree to current occupations, the competencies developed during the program, and the challenges graduates face in the job market. Utilizing a quantitative descriptive approach, the study surveyed 159 out of 179 graduates and provided an assessment of their transition from enrolment to employment. Findings reveal that most graduates are employed, with a significant number working locally; however, many hold contractual or temporary positions. The BSIT degree generally proves relevant to their current jobs, particularly in technical fields. However, disparities in income and employment stability are evident. Key competencies, such as technical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, were well-developed; however, gaps in soft skills, leadership, and entrepreneurial capabilities were identified. Graduates also reported challenges, including a lack of Civil Service eligibility, limited job opportunities, and the absence of advanced degrees. The study emphasizes the need for curriculum enhancements that incorporate the development of soft skills and leadership training. It recommends stronger career counseling services and closer university-industry partnerships to ensure alignment between academic outputs and labor market demands. Additionally, the study advocates for institutional support in helping graduates pursue advanced degrees and gain eligibility for the Civil Service to improve their employment prospects. These interventions are crucial not only to enhance individual career outcomes but also to strengthen the university's reputation and its contribution to the national workforce.

Abstract

Forensic anthropology and skull analysis play a crucial role in the biological identification of individuals, including sex determination. This study aims to improve the accuracy of gender classification based on skull structure by combining the Information Gain feature selection method with the Backpropagation algorithm. The dataset used is the craniometric data compiled by William W. Howells, consisting of 2,524 samples with 85 measurement features. The preprocessing stage includes data selection, data cleaning, and normalization. Feature selection was conducted using the Information Gain method with three threshold values: 0.01, 0.05, and 0.1, resulting in 79, 46, and 38 selected features, respectively. The model was evaluated using the K-Fold Cross Validation method with K=10 and K=20. The highest accuracy of 93.91% was achieved at the 0.01 threshold using the Backpropagation architecture [79:119:1], a learning rate of 0.01, and K=20. These results demonstrate that feature selection using Information Gain enhances the performance of the Backpropagation model by eliminating irrelevant features and minimizing the risk of overfitting.

Abstract

This study aims to overcome problems in the process of accepting and selecting new members of Paskibra UIN North Sumatra by building a management information system. Paskibra UIN North Sumatra is one of the intra-campus organizations under the auspices of UIN North Sumatra. This organization has a system for accepting and selecting new members. However, in its implementation, this process often experiences obstacles, such as loss of prospective member data and delays in selection and announcement of results. A web-based Paskibra member acceptance and selection management information system at UIN North Sumatra was built to facilitate management in the process of acceptance, selection, and announcement of results. This information system allows registration to be done online, so prospective members do not need to come in person. In addition, the Board of Trustees can more easily monitor the selection process and provide more systematic assessments. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and literature studies. The system development method applied is the Waterfall model. The system design is carried out using UML (Unified Modeling Language) to define the system workflow. The results of this study are a management information system that can increase efficiency in the process of accepting and selecting prospective Paskibra members. This information system can help reduce the risk of data loss, speed up the selection process, and improve accuracy in the assessment and announcement of results. With the information system in this study, the Paskibra UIN Sumatera Utara management can carry out its duties more optimally and provide convenience for prospective members in participating in the selection process. This research is important in encouraging the digital transformation of student organizations because it can increase work efficiency and effectiveness, as well as strengthen transparency and accountability in the selection process for new members.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has significantly changed cybercrime, especially electronic document forgery. This re-search examines the utilization of digital forensics and information technology in proving the crime of electronic document forgery in In-donesia through a normative legal research approach. The research uses a statutory approach and a conceptual approach to analyze the ef-fectiveness of digital forensic methods in uncovering electronic crimes based on certain evaluation criteria including technical feasibility, legal acceptability, and procedural compliance with Indonesian law. The findings show that digital forensics has an important role in in-vestigating electronic document forgery, but faces complex implementation challenges. Key barriers include limited human resources, with only 147 certified digital forensics experts in Indonesia according to verified 2023 data from the Indonesian Digital Forensics Association (AFDI), and legal regulations that have not fully accommodated the evolving digital technology landscape. The research identifies signifi-cant technical barriers, such as the complexity of forensic technology, the volatility of digital evidence, and the rapid advancement of cyber-crime techniques. Through an examination of recent case studies including the Tokopedia data breach of 2023 and the Jakarta Administra-tive Court electronic document forgery case of 2022, this research demonstrates the practical application of digital forensics in Indonesian courts. The research proposes a balanced approach that fulfills both evidentiary and human rights protection requirements in digital inves-tigations. Strategic recommendations include strengthening the capacity of forensic laboratories, harmonizing legal regulations, and im-proving the competence of human resources in technology and law. This research contributes to the conceptual framework of cyber law enforcement by offering a comprehensive perspective on the evidentiary challenges of e-crime in the digital age.
