Abstract

Deep neural networks require intensive computation and communication due to the large volume of gradient updates exchanged during training. This paper investigates Adaptive Gradient Compression (AGC), an information-theoretic framework that reduces redundant gradients while preserving learning stability. Two independent compression mechanisms are analyzed: an entropy-based scheme, which filters gradients with low informational uncertainty, and a Fisher-based scheme, which prunes gradients with low sensitivity to the loss curvature. Both approaches are evaluated on the CIFAR-10 dataset using a ResNet-18 model under identical hyperparameter settings. Results show that entropy-guided compression achieves a 33.8× reduction in gradient density with only a 4.4% decrease in test accuracy, while Fisher-based compression attains 14.3× reduction and smoother convergence behavior. Despite modest increases in per-iteration latency, both methods maintain stable training and demonstrate that gradient redundancy can be systematically controlled through information metrics. These findings highlight a new pathway toward information-aware optimization, where learning efficiency is governed by the informational relevance of gradients rather than their magnitude alone. Furthermore, this study emphasizes the practical significance of integrating information theory into deep learning optimization. By selectively transmitting gradients that carry higher information content, AGC effectively mitigates communication bottlenecks in distributed training environments. Experimental analyses further reveal that adaptive compression dynamically adjusts to training dynamics, providing robustness across various learning stages. The proposed framework can thus serve as a foundation for developing future low-overhead optimization methods that balance accuracy, stability, and efficiency, and crucial aspects for large-scale deep learning deployments in edge and cloud computing contexts.

Abstract

The era of digital transformation has brought significant changes to human resource management across various organizations. Manual human resource management (HRM) at PT Infico Alumindo Indonesia has resulted in several issues, such as delayed attendance recap, disorganized leave data, and time-consuming payroll processes. Therefore, this study aims to design and implement a web-based Human Resources Information System (HRIS) using the Laravel framework and the waterfall method to improve HRM efficiency at PT Infico Alumindo Indonesia. This research employs the waterfall method, which consists of five stages: requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Data collection techniques include direct observation at the company, interviews with company representatives particularly the Operational Director, and literature studies from various academic sources. The results of this study indicate that the developed HRIS successfully automates the attendance process through facial recognition technology and real-time location tracking. The attendance feature for sales personnel is enhanced with photo geotagging, displaying timestamps and real-time locations on the captured images. The leave management module is also systematically integrated, allowing supervisors to approve leave requests quickly and in a well-documented manner. The payroll feature is now directly connected to attendance data, sales attendance, monthly and daily wages, and overtime, enabling accurate and efficient payroll calculations. Additionally, the people development module supports periodic employee development tracking, including performance evaluations and job mutations.

Abstract

The process of collecting and managing human resource data—such as attendance records, employee information, job assignments, and payroll—at CV. Cipta Sarana Makmur is currently carried out manually. This manual approach has resulted in several significant operational issues, including a high risk of data damage or loss, administrative delays, and increased workloads due to the lack of an integrated system. Furthermore, the conventional method often leads to data duplication and input errors, which negatively affect the accuracy of information, time efficiency, and the reliability of managerial decision-making. To address the identified issues, this study focuses on designing and developing a web-based Human Resource Information System (HRIS) capable of automating and integrating all human resource data management processes in an efficient and effective manner. The system development process adopts the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology using the Waterfall model, which consists of five key phases: requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Each phase is carried out in a structured and sequential manner to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the system being developed. Laravel was selected as the development framework due to its modular structure based on the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture, comprehensive documentation, and flexibility that supports efficient programming and long-term system scalability. The results demonstrate that the developed HRIS successfully meets the company’s operational needs by centralising and integrating various human resource functions. The system enables digital and structured processes for attendance tracking, employee data management, job assignment handling, and payroll processing. Its implementation significantly reduces data processing errors, avoids information redundancy, and accelerates administrative workflows that previously required considerable time when performed manually. Additionally, the system enhances data transparency and facilitates real-time information tracking, which supports better managerial oversight and decision-making. In conclusion, the HRIS developed in this study effectively addresses the core issues faced by CV. Cipta Sarana Makmur in managing human resource operations. To maximise the system’s potential, it is recommended that comprehensive training be provided to system users. For future system enhancements, the integration of more advanced technologies—such as facial recognition-based attendance systems—is advised to further improve accuracy, efficiency, and overall data security. Abstract

The rapid growth of digital transformation in public institutions has underscored the urgency of developing effective and user-friendly digital archiving systems. In Indonesia, many government agencies, including the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BKAD) of Kapuas Regency, still face inefficiencies in manual document management, with retrieval times averaging 15–20 minutes per file and high risks of data loss. This study aims to design and evaluate a web-based digital archive system that integrates information systems engineering with mathematical usability assessment, thereby addressing both functional and experiential challenges. The research employed the Design Thinking framework, progressing through empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing stages. Prototypes were developed using high-fidelity design tools, while usability evaluations combined subjective and objective measures through the System Usability Scale (SUS), Mission Usability Score (MIUS), and Maze Usability Score (MAUS). The findings demonstrate that the proposed system reduced retrieval times by 90 percent (from 20 minutes to 2 minutes) and achieved an SUS score of 82.5 (Excellent), a MIUS of 76.2 (Good), and a MAUS of 78.6 (Good), all surpassing benchmarks reported in previous studies. These results confirm that combining user-centered design with quantitative evaluation yields reliable outcomes. The study concludes that the hybrid evaluation framework provides both theoretical and practical contributions, while recommending further research on advanced features such as AI-based classification and large.
