Abstract

The rapid growth of digital media has transformed information dissemination in Indonesia, but it also fuels the spread of hoaxes, hate speech, and divisive content, threatening national resilience. This study aims to analyze how information media management can be optimized to strengthen national unity and security. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, the research examines government reports, academic studies, and news articles to explore challenges and strategies in managing digital media. The findings reveal that hoaxes and hate speech, particularly on social media, erode public trust and deepen social polarization, with significant cases during the coronavirus disease pandemic. Government efforts, including cyber patrols and public education, are hindered by weak coordination among institutions and low media literacy among citizens. Digital infrastructure, such as media centers and online reporting platforms, shows potential but faces limitations due to budget constraints and lack of expertise. Strengthening media management requires improved institutional coordination, enhanced digital tools, and widespread media literacy programs. This study concludes that a comprehensive approach combining technology, regulation, and public engagement is essential to counter disinformation and foster a resilient society capable of maintaining national values and unity in the digital era.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the effect of job satisfaction and management information systems on employee performance at PT. Pawnshops in Palopo City. Research methodology: This study applied a quantitative approach with a total sampling technique, involving 38 employees as respondents. Primary data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS version 23, employing descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis to test the hypotheses. Results: The findings indicate that both job satisfaction and management information systems have positive and significant effects on employee performance. The coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.539, showing that 53.9% of the variation in employee performance can be explained by the two independent variables, while the remaining 46.1% is influenced by other factors outside this study. Conclusions: This study confirms that higher levels of job satisfaction and effective use of management information systems contribute significantly to enhancing employee performance at PT. Pawnshops in Palopo City: Limitations: This study was limited by the relatively small sample size and restricted to one branch of PT. Pawnshops and may not fully represent other branches or regions. Contribution: This study contributes to the fields of human resource management and information systems by providing empirical evidence of the joint role of job satisfaction and information systems in improving organizational performance. These findings can serve as a reference for managers of similar institutions to optimize employee outcomes.

Abstract

Malnutrition remains a significant public health challenge in Indonesia, with early detection being crucial for effective intervention. Previous studies utilizing the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm demonstrated promising results in classifying malnourished toddlers based on anthropometric data. However, single-model approaches often suffer from sensitivity to noise and limited generalization. This study proposes a hybrid ensemble model combining KNN and Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), integrated with mutual information-based feature selection, to improve classification performance. Using a dataset from Puskesmas Ubung, Bali, comprising 1,319 records with nine anthropometric features and a binary malnutrition label, the model was evaluated under stratified five-fold cross-validation. The proposed KNN–MLP ensemble with top-ranked features achieved 94.3% accuracy, surpassing both standalone KNN and MLP models. Additional metrics, including precision (91.7%), recall (89.4%), F1-score (90.5%), and MAE (0.05), confirmed the model's robustness and reliability. These findings demonstrate that ensemble learning combined with feature selection significantly improves early-stage malnutrition classification, offering a scalable approach for decision-support systems in public health interventions.

Abstract

The use of renewable energy, particularly solar power plants (SPPs), is one of the strategic solutions to overcome limited access to electricity in rural areas. Lolo Wano Village, as one of the villages with high solar radiation intensity, has great potential for SPP development. However, the planning of SPP construction is often hampered by a lack of integrated spatial data related to residential locations, public facilities, and land availability. This study aims to design a Geographic Information System (GIS) capable of mapping the potential and determining strategic coordinates for SPP construction in Lolo Wano Village. The research method was conducted by collecting primary data in the form of GPS coordinates of residents' houses, schools, village offices, and vacant land with potential for use. Secondary data included administrative maps, topographic maps, and solar radiation data from BMKG and global sources. The data was processed using QGIS/ArcGIS software through the stages of map digitization, spatial overlay, and land suitability analysis based on criteria of solar radiation, accessibility, land area, and proximity to residential areas. The results of the study show that the use of GIS can produce digital maps of the distribution of existing solar power plant locations as well as recommendations for new locations suitable for development. This system not only assists village governments in making decisions on renewable energy development, but also supports equitable access to electricity for the community. Thus, the application of GIS in mapping solar power plants in Lolo Wano Village plays an important role in supporting sustainable development and improving the quality of life of the local community.

Abstract

Ciledug Lor is a flood-prone area in Cirebon Regency. Flood disaster management can empower the community through participatory mapping and crowdsourcing activities. This study aims to analyze the level of floods, threats, vulnerabilities, capacities, risks and refuge locations in Ciledug Lor Village based on participatory mapping, crowdsourcing, and GIS. Various indicators of threat, vulnerability, and flood capacity are obtained from field surveys, open data and official data that have been given a value and weight which are then processed using overlay analysis to obtain flood risk parameters. Determination of refuge locations used network analysis to find out the route, distance, and effective time. The results analysis and modeling showed the average flood level in Ciledug Lor reached 2.27 meters. The refugee location for Dusun Pamosongan and Dusun Kampung Baru are to the north close to the railway tracks. Meanwhile, Dusun Karanganyar and Dusun Genggong are in the Ciledug Bus Terminal. In the future, participatory mapping, crowdsourcing, and GIS are expected to build awareness and resilience of disaster

Abstract

Floods are natural events or phenomena that can cause environmental damage, loss of property, psychological effects, and death or casualties. One way to control flooding non-structurally is by mapping areas that are prone to flooding. This study builds a geographic-based information system to map flood-prone areas in Manado City using the K-Means Clustering algorithm. The main objective of this research is to identify and map areas with a high risk of flooding using spatial data. Slope, land cover type, soil type, water discharge (discharge), and rainfall are independent variables that will be used and processed using the K-Means Clustering algorithm. There are four clusters in the mapping results of flood-prone areas, namely: high vulnerability, medium vulnerability, low vulnerability, and not vulnerable. By using the K-Means method, the results obtained are Paal Dua and Wenang sub-districts are high-vulnerability groups, followed by Mapanget, Tuminting, and Singkil subdistricts with medium vulnerability groups. Tikala District is the only area with low vulnerability. Meanwhile, Bunaken, Sario, Wanea, and Malayayang sub-districts are areas that are not potentially prone to flooding.
