Abstract

The development of information technology has brought significant changes in educational management, especially at the high school (SMA) level. The application of technology in school administration, learning systems, and communication between stakeholders is considered capable of increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of education management. This research aims to examine the application of information technology in educational management in high schools in Indonesia through a literature review approach. Data sources were obtained from scientific journals, books and relevant research reports to evaluate the benefits, challenges and directions of development of information technology in educational management. The results of the study show that the implementation of information technology has helped schools increase data transparency, the effectiveness of online learning, and the efficiency of academic administration. However, several obstacles are still faced, such as limited technological infrastructure, lack of skills of teaching staff in using technology, and budget limitations in some schools. To optimize the application of information technology in education management, support is needed from the government, schools and stakeholders through the provision of adequate infrastructure, training for teaching staff, and regulations that support the digitalization of education. The implications of this research confirm that information technology has a strategic role in the transformation of educational management in high school. Therefore, further research is needed to explore more effective and sustainable technology implementation models, as well as evaluate the long-term impact of educational digitalization on the quality of learning and school management.

Abstract

Conventional internship monitoring workflows frequently suffered from critical inefficiencies, including data fragmentation, delayed reporting, and subjective performance evaluations. Furthermore, existing literature on system design often prioritized backend logical structures while neglecting frontend visual usability, resulting in functional but difficult-to-use applications. This study aimed to address these specific gaps by designing a comprehensive internship monitoring and evaluation system that explicitly integrated strict Unified Modeling Language architecture with high-fidelity user interface design at the conceptual level. The methodology utilized a qualitative descriptive approach, employing specific structural diagrams including use case, activity, and sequence diagrams to enforce role-based access control and user-centered design principles. The results demonstrated that the proposed blueprint successfully ensured data integrity and atomicity. Validated through black box testing, the conceptual models were confirmed to be translated into a functional design without logical errors, enabling real-time activity tracking and objective assessment. This study contributed to information system design research by bridging strict data security standards with minimalist usability heuristics, providing a matured visual and structural foundation. The findings offered a concrete basis for future implementation and empirical validation using user acceptance testing in operational environments.

Abstract

The implementation of digital administrative systems in public sector institutions is expected to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability; however, partial system adoption and varying levels of user acceptance often limit their effectiveness. This study evaluates the implementation of a web-based E-Office application in public sector administration by examining how system quality, information quality, and service quality influence administrative management and employee acceptance. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach by integrating the Information System Success Model and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews with selected employees, direct observation of administrative workflows, and documentation analysis related to E-Office utilization in a local government institution. The findings indicate that system quality, information quality, and service quality positively contribute to administrative management effectiveness by accelerating document processing, improving information accessibility, and strengthening administrative accountability. In addition, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use significantly influence employee acceptance of the E-Office application. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, including an outdated user interface, limited document search functionality, and the coexistence of manual and digital administrative processes. The novelty of this study lies in its qualitative integration of information system quality dimensions and the Technology Acceptance Model within a local government administrative context, providing empirical insights into both technical system performance and user acceptance to support public sector digital transformation.

Abstract

The adoption of Accounting Information Systems (AIS) in Indonesia remains uneven between urban and rural areas, reflecting disparities in digital competence, social conditions, and infrastructural readiness. Addressing this gap, this study extends the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by incorporating digital literacy, trust, and social influence, while explicitly examining the moderating role of geographical context (urban versus rural). A quantitative survey method was employed, collecting data from 300 AIS users, comprising 150 respondents from urban areas and 150 from rural areas. The data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and multi-group analysis. The research model positions digital literacy, trust, and social influence as antecedent variables; perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness as mediators; behavioral intention as an intervening variable; and actual system usage as the outcome variable. The findings indicate that behavioral intention is a strong predictor of actual AIS usage in both urban and rural contexts. However, significant contextual differences emerge: digital literacy and trust positively influence perceived usefulness in urban areas, while these relationships are not significant in rural settings. This result highlights the moderating role of geographical context in shaping AIS acceptance patterns. This study contributes theoretically by extending TAM through a contextualized urban–rural perspective and empirically demonstrating the heterogeneous effects of key antecedents across geographical settings. From a policy perspective, the findings suggest that strategies to promote AIS adoption should be context-sensitive, with greater emphasis on digital capability development and trust-building mechanisms in rural areas.

Abstract

Project progress is an important indicator of the success of construction, which includes four main criteria, namely time, scope, cost, and quality. These four aspects must be monitored continuously to ensure they remain in line with the plan that was established at the outset. However, at PT. Fitra Wika Pekanbaru, the project monitoring process is still carried out manually using Microsoft Excel. This method is considered inefficient because it is prone to delays in data updates, inconsistencies in information, and difficulties in recapitulating and analyzing projects comprehensively. To overcome these problems, this study applies the Web Development Life Cycle (WDLC) method in designing and building a web-based project monitoring information system. The system was developed using the PHP programming language with a MySQL database, supported by the Bootstrap framework to produce a responsive and user-friendly interface. The result of this development is an online-based project monitoring system that not only simplifies the data input and reporting process but also enables real-time and continuous monitoring of project progress. Furthermore, this system supports management in conducting evaluations and making faster and more accurate decisions by providing comparative information between project planning and realization. Thus, the implementation of this information system is expected to improve work efficiency, reduce the risk of data loss, and support transparency and accountability in construction project management at PT. Fitra Wika Pekanbaru

Abstract

This study aims to design and evaluate a Smart Agriculture Information System model that integrates Internet of Things (IoT) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies to enhance irrigation efficiency and support data-driven decision-making processes. A mixed-method approach was employed within the Design Science Research (DSR) framework, involving 32 participants consisting of farmers, agricultural extension officers, and system administrators. The system was developed by deploying IoT-based sensors to monitor real-time field conditions, including soil moisture (45%–72%), temperature (24–31°C), and pH levels (5.5–6.8). These data streams were further integrated with an AR application to provide contextual, in-situ visualization for users in the field. The findings indicate a significant improvement in irrigation decision-making efficiency, as reflected by a reduction in processing time from approximately ±15 minutes to ±9–10 minutes, equivalent to an efficiency gain of around 33–35%. Furthermore, the system enhances the accuracy of land condition monitoring and enables more adaptive irrigation management based on dynamic environmental parameters. Usability evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) yielded an average score of 78, which falls into the “good” category, indicating a favorable level of acceptance among users, including those without technical backgrounds. The primary contribution of this study lies in the development of an integrative IoT–AR model that supports precision irrigation through real-time data utilization and interactive visualization. These findings reinforce the implementation of Agriculture 4.0 by emphasizing not only technological innovation but also user interaction aspects. However, the study is limited to a relatively small-scale implementation and does not directly measure its impact on crop yield productivity

Abstract

Background: The existing literature on sustainable software and information systems is fragmented, with research often siloed into specific models, applications, or evaluation metrics without a cohesive overview. This fragmentation hinders the development of a unified understanding necessary for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to effectively implement sustainability principles. Aims: This study aims to systematically analyze and synthesize research on software and information systems for sustainability. Its scope is to identify the dominant models, primary application domains, and key evaluation metrics used in the field to establish a consolidated understanding and guide future efforts. Methods: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following PRISMA screened 314 Scopus documents (2017–2026) to 25 articles, analyzed using Biblioshiny, VOSviewer, and thematic synthesis. Result: The analysis reveals a field in a consolidative phase, dominated by systematic review-based research (76%) focused on theoretical synthesis. While geographically diverse, the research centers on "sustainability" and "information systems" as core themes. A critical gap exists between conceptual frameworks and practical application, evidenced by a scarcity of empirical studies (only 4% quantitative) and the absence of standardized evaluation metrics. Conclusion: This review concludes that while significant progress has been made in mapping the conceptual landscape, the field of software and information systems for sustainability must now prioritize empirical validation, the development of AI-driven systems, and the establishment of uniform measurement standards to bridge the gap between theoretical promise and tangible real-world outcomes.
