Abstract

This article discusses the concept of the ‘Right to Be Forgotten’ in the context of an increasingly connected digital era. This right allows individuals to request the removal of their personal data that is irrelevant, outdated, or misleading from online search results, thus giving them greater control over their personal information scattered on the internet. However, the implementation of this right raises complex legal challenges, particularly in balancing individual privacy rights with freedom of public information. This article explores the existing legal framework, as well as the social and ethical implications of implementing the ‘Right to Be Forgotten’. Thus, this article underlines the need for a flexible and balanced policy framework to accommodate technological developments without compromising the principles of transparency and access to information

This study explores the ethical and legal dilemmas in the delivery of health information on digital platforms, focusing on three main aspects: transparency, misinformation, and legal liability. In the digital age, quick and easy access to health information should help people make better decisions. However, a lack of transparency and the spread of misinformation can be detrimental to public health. This study emphasises the importance of transparency in information delivery to build public trust, while identifying misinformation as a serious threat to public health. The study also discusses the legal responsibility that information providers and digital platforms have to ensure the information provided is valid, accurate and based on scientific evidence. With a combination of strict regulations and strict law enforcement, it is hoped that a safer and more reliable information environment can be created for the public

Abstract

The legal portrait of health communication is an important study that highlights aspects of responsible health information delivery, protection of patient rights, and the role of the media in public education. The delivery of health information must be based on strict ethical and legal standards, so that the public gets accurate and reliable data. In addition, the law also serves to protect patients by ensuring the confidentiality of health information and guaranteeing correct and transparent information. The media, as the main means of information dissemination in the digital era, plays a crucial role in improving public health literacy and preventing the spread of hoaxes that can be misleading. With a synergistic interaction between information providers, legal regulations, and the media, effective health communication can be achieved, benefiting the welfare of society at large

Abstract

The accelerated advancement of information technology requires higher education institutions, including Universitas Sepuluh Nopember Papua (USNP), to leverage data analytics in support of strategic decision-making, particularly in the management of student activity status. One of the major challenges faced is the early and accurate identification of students at risk of becoming inactive, especially in the fifth semester, which represents a critical stage of study where inactivity rates of approximately 15–22% have been identified within the Information Systems program. This study seeks to address the limited body of research that examines student status classification within the context of universities in Eastern Indonesia. Accordingly, the primary objective of this research is to examine the activity patterns of fifth-semester students through the development of a classification model based on the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm. This study adopts a quantitative research design combined with computational experimentation, utilizing a total population sample of 80 students from the 2023 Information Systems cohort. The research relies on secondary data obtained from the datasets “Mahasiswa SI 2023.xlsx” and “ipk mhs aktif sistem informasi.xlsx”. The dependent variable examined is Student Status (Active/Inactive), while the independent variables include Cumulative Grade Point Average (IPK), the number of credits successfully completed, and other relevant administrative attributes. Data preprocessing procedures consist of dataset integration, data cleaning, imputation of missing IPK values using the mean value (2.891 based on 58 observations), label encoding (Active = 1, Inactive = 0), and normalization of numerical features. The K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) classification model is developed using the Euclidean distance metric, with several K values (3, 5, and 7) evaluated to determine optimal performance. Model effectiveness is subsequently assessed using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The results are expected to show that the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm is capable of accurately classifying student status, with Cumulative Grade Point Average (IPK) identified as a key influencing variable. This study contributes by developing a KNN-based classification model specifically designed to predict student engagement in the fifth semester, thereby providing Universitas Sepuluh Nopember Papua (USNP) with a practical, data-driven analytical tool to support early intervention initiatives and enhance the quality of academic services

Abstract

This research is motivated by an increase in the average book value every year for the last five years in banking companies, which is caused by stable regional inflation that has occurred in the last decade and the high value of dividends given by companies to investors. The increase in the company's book value was due to the relevance of the value of accounting recording information within the company and investment value decisions made by banking companies in developing their companies as well as the increase in the number of investors. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of the value relevance of accounting information, investment decisions on company value and inflation with dividend policy as an intervening variable in banking companies in 2016-2020. This research uses quantitative research. Data collection was carried out using secondary data from financial reports. The respondents in this research were 35 banking companies using a purposive sampling method. The relevance of the value of accounting information has a negative and significant effect on company value with dividend policy as an intervening variable. Investment decisions have a negative and insignificant effect on company value with dividend policy as an intervening variable. The relevance of the value of accounting information has a positive and significant effect on inflation with dividend policy as an intervening variable. Investment decisions have a negative and significant effect on inflation with dividend policy as an intervening variable.
