Abstract

The low English proficiency among the Indonesian society is partly influenced by the dominance of learning approaches that focus on grammar and vocabulary memorization, thereby limiting students' opportunities to use the language in meaningful communication. Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) is an approach that emphasizes language use for authentic communication purposes, with information gap activities (IGA) serving as one of the primary techniques to foster classroom interaction. This community service activity aims to enhance the pedagogical competence of pre-service English teachers in designing and implementing CLT-based IGA. The activity was conducted using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, involving students from the English Education Study Programs at Universitas Sari Mulia and Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. The needs analysis results indicated that most participants lacked an adequate understanding of the IGA concept and still tended to employ traditional, teacher-centered learning activities. Through this training, participants gained an understanding of CLT principles and skills in designing communication-oriented activities centered on information exchange. Following the training, participants were capable of developing and practicing various information gap activities, such as Jigsaw Reading, Missing Schedule, and Spot the Differences, integrated into communicative learning scenarios. The questionnaire results demonstrated that this training strengthened the pedagogical competence of pre-service English teachers in designing communicative, interactive, and student-centered learning. Therefore, similar training needs to be conducted sustainably to support the quality improvement of communicative English language learning.

Abstract

This community service program aims to assist RM Pawon Selaras, a culinary micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) located in Perum Unima, Minahasa Regency, in digitalizing its production management through a web-based Accounting Information System (AIS). The program adopted a participatory mentoring approach implemented from April to June 2026 through six stages: planning, needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing using Black Box Testing, and system deployment with maintenance. Program evaluation was conducted qualitatively through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation to assess system usability and partner capacity development. The resulting web-based application provides integrated features for raw material management, menu and recipe management, production planning, quality control, waste recording, inventory updating, and the generation of production and cost of goods manufactured reports. The program produced two major outcomes: the successful implementation of a functional digital information system and enhanced partner capacity in managing production records and operational information. The partner transitioned from intuitive, memory-based practices to structured, integrated, and data-driven documentation that supports pricing decisions and business performance evaluation. These findings suggest that the digital transformation of MSMEs can begin by addressing internal operational and record-management needs rather than focusing solely on digital marketing, and that sustained mentoring plays a critical role in facilitating technology adoption. Further evaluation using quantitative performance indicators is recommended to assess improvements in operational efficiency and waste reduction.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the success of the VIP system implementation using the Information System Success Model by DeLone and McLean, by adding the variables of trust and perceived risk to enrich the evaluation model in the context of digital transaction systems. The research model includes eight main constructs: system quality, information quality, service quality, perceived risk, trust, intention to use, user satisfaction, and net benefit. This research used a quantitative approach with a questionnaire instrument distributed to internal and external users of the VIP system. Data analysis is conducted using the Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The research results show that trust has a significant effect on the intention to use, while system quality, information quality, service quality, and perceived risk do not have a significant effect on the intention to use. These findings indicate that in systems that are mandatory or required as part of a company's business process, trust in the security and reliability of the system becomes the main factor driving usage. Service quality significantly affects user satisfaction, while intention to use and user satisfaction significantly affect net benefit. These results indicate that the benefits of the VIP system are primarily obtained thru a positive user experience and a high level of user satisfaction. This research provides empirical contributions to the development of information system success models in the context of digital payment systems and offers strategic recommendations for improving service quality and the effectiveness of VIP system implementation at PT XYZ.

Abstract

Accurate financial forecasting plays a vital role in supporting business decision-making, particularly for organizations that depend on operational efficiency and strategic planning. CV. Surya Cipta Estetica Mandiri still manages its financial records manually, resulting in inaccurate estimations and limited predictive capabilities. This study proposes a profit prediction model using a Neural Network–based Multiple Linear Regression approach implemented through a Single Layer Perceptron (SLP) and integrated into a financial information system. The dataset consists of 3,127 daily transaction records from January 2021 to April 2025, including date, category, total income, and total expense. The preprocessing phase includes handling missing values, label encoding, RobustScaler-based feature scaling, and an 80:20 train–test split. The model was developed using TensorFlow with a Sequential architecture, trained using 2,501 data points and evaluated using 626 data points. The model demonstrates excellent predictive performance, achieving R² = 0.9988, MAPE = 1.03%, MAE = 258,080, RMSE = 893,381, and an overall accuracy of 98.97%. These results indicate that the SLP-based Multiple Linear Regression model provides stable and highly accurate profit predictions. Furthermore, the model can be expanded into a broader ERP system by integrating additional business modules such as finance, HR, and inventory management. Future research may incorporate external market variables, adaptive learning mechanisms, and non-linear algorithms such as Random Forest or Gradient Boosting to improve model robustness and predictive generalization.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the government sector has increased the use of information technology in delivering public services. This condition requires government organizations to ensure adequate information security to protect data and systems from various cyber threats. This study aims to assess the level of information security resilience at the Communication and Informatics Office of Padang City in supporting digital transformation by referring to the ISO/IEC 27001 standard and using the KAMI Index 5.0 evaluation instrument. The research employed a descriptive approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and document analysis in the KAMI Index assessment process. The results show that the level of compliance with the information security framework achieved a score of 518, indicating that the organization has met the basic framework for implementing information security based on the ISO/IEC 27001 standard. However, the implementation maturity level remains at Level II, indicating that several information security management processes have been implemented but are not yet fully documented and optimally managed. Therefore, improvement recommendations are proposed to enhance the maturity level, comprising specific recommendations across seven areas: information security governance (5), risk management (14), security framework (5), asset management (13), technology and security (6), personal data protection (11), and supplementary (6). These recommendations are expected to serve as a foundation to improve information security management effectiveness, thereby supporting the sustainability of local government digital services.

Abstract

Flight delays, cancellations, and unilateral flight rescheduling are persistent issues, obstructing the protection of consumer rights in Indonesia’s aviation services sector. The legal issues examined in this study are: (1) the form of legal protection for passengers affected by flight delays from a human rights perspective, and (2) the responsibility of the state and airlines in ensuring the fulfilment of passengers’ rights. Previous studies by Fahrizal et al. (2022) examined business actors’ liability for flight delays, Thoriq & Ilham (2023) focused on unilateral flight cancellations, and Budi & Siddiq (2025) analysed unilateral flight rescheduling. Although these studies share a common focus on consumer protection, they have not comprehensively integrated a human rights perspective. This study aims to analyse legal protection for airline passengers from a human rights perspective and to examine the responsibilities of airlines and the state. The research employs a normative legal research method using statutory and comparative approaches. The analytical framework is based on human rights theory, legal liability theory, and legal protection theory. The findings indicate that flight delays without fair and transparent handling constitute violations of human rights and the right to information as guaranteed by the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, Law No. 39 of 1999 on Human Rights, Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection, and Law No. 1 of 2009 on Aviation, as partially amended by Law No. 6 of 2023. Airlines must be held liable in providing compensation, accommodation, or alternative flights, while the government, through the Ministry of Transportation, is authorised to impose sanctions on negligent airlines. It is recommended that the government strengthen effective complaint mechanisms to ensure the protection of passengers’ rights.
