Abstract

Digital transformation in the banking sector requires more accurate information integration and effective managerial decision-making. This study examines the effects of digital competence, financial information quality, and system automation on managerial decision-making effectiveness, with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) utilization serving as a mediating variable. A quantitative survey was conducted involving 100 ERP users from four major banks in Makassar, Indonesia. The data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that digital competence, financial information quality, and system automation significantly influence ERP utilization, with digital competence emerging as the strongest predictor. ERP utilization also exerts a substantial positive effect on managerial decision-making effectiveness. Furthermore, ERP utilization mediates the relationships between the three antecedent variables and managerial decision-making effectiveness. These findings contribute empirical evidence to the literature on digital transformation in banking and offer practical implications for strengthening employees’ digital competence, improving financial information quality, and optimizing ERP utilization within banking institutions

Abstract

Transforming public services in archipelagic regions is an urgent need to realize a government that is inclusive, adaptive, and responsive to community needs. Archipelagic regions in Indonesia face unique challenges in providing public services, such as limited infrastructure, geographic barriers, and isolation between regions. These conditions often lead to low service quality and minimal public participation in government processes. This study aims to critically examine how ICT can improve public participation in public services in archipelagic regions, considering geographical challenges and the decentralized conditions of regional government.Using a qualitative approach and case study methods in several archipelagic regions in Indonesia, the findings indicate that digital access and digital literacy are crucial variables influencing the effectiveness of e-government. Infrastructure gaps and low technological capabilities of the community are often the main obstacles. However, when access and literacy are achieved, ICT can open a broad dialogue between citizens and the government, enabling the public to actively participate in the planning, monitoring, and evaluation of public services.Within a decentralized framework, the use of digital social also strengthens the position of local governments as key actors in managing locally-based services. Thus, digital transformation in island regions is not only about system modernization, but also about building a participatory ecosystem based on trust, openness, and connectivity.

Abstract

Abstract

The development of biotechnological crops plays a significant role in enhancing food security and sustainability in tropical regions. However, public acceptance remains a major challenge, particularly in the context of rapid digital information dissemination. This study aims to predict public acceptance of biotechnological products by integrating socio-cognitive factors such as knowledge, perception, digital information exposure, trust, and sustainability awareness. A cross-sectional survey employing purposive sampling was conducted with 500 respondents, drawn from diverse stakeholder groups including academics, government officials, entrepreneurs, farmers, and students. Data were analyzed using a machine learning approach comprising logistic regression, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, and XGBoost algorithms, evaluated against metrics of accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and AUC-ROC. The results show that approximately 70% of respondents have limited knowledge of biotechnology, while about 75% agree that biotechnology can improve agricultural productivity, economic conditions, and food security. Furthermore, 76% of respondents indicate willingness to purchase biotechnological products. The predictive analysis reveals that knowledge and perception are key determinants of acceptance, while digital information exposure and sustainability awareness further strengthen positive attitudes. Individuals with greater access to reliable information tend to exhibit higher trust and a stronger likelihood of purchasing biotechnological products. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening digital communication strategies and sustainability narratives to improve public understanding and acceptance. This study contributes to tropical bioresource research by supporting data-driven decision-making within the One Health and sustainable agriculture framework.
