Abstract

The focus on corporate governance in Asian economies intensified following major U.S. accounting scandals and the 2008 financial crisis. These events sparked a demand for stricter regulations and prompted regional governments to adopt best practice principles to discipline corporate behavior. While theoretical foundations are solid, the empirical relationship between corporate governance and firm performance remains a subject of significant debate. In light of Taiwan’s increasing number of listed companies and the introduction of new governance frameworks, this research investigates the impact of corporate governance on the performance of public firms in Taiwan. The study finds that corporate governance significantly influences firm performance, though correlations across variables are not consistently positive. Furthermore, the analysis demonstrates that financial disclosure and transparency have a positive and significant effect on performance. These findings serve as a guide for investors and companies to assess critical governance elements and refine policy development.

Abstract

Enterprise workloads keep moving to public, private, and hybrid cloud environments, and that shift is widening the attack surface available to would-be intruders just as organizations lean harder on Management Information Systems (MIS) to run day-to-day decisions. This paper works through fifteen recent studies sitting at the crossing point of artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, cloud computing, and MIS governance, and tries to say something coherent about what they add up to. Rather than proposing and testing one new tool, the review pulls out the themes that keep resurfacing, AI and machine-learning-based threat detection, cyber threat intelligence, big-data analytics, data governance, federated and privacy-preserving learning, sustainable data-center design, and the human side of security that technical papers tend to skip and organizes them into a five-layer conceptual framework meant to help later empirical work. The review follows an explicit search, screening, and synthesis process, described in Section II; each proposed framework layer is traced back, in the discussion itself, to the specific literature that motivates it, and a thematic distribution chart shows how attention is split across sub-topics in the corpus. What comes out of this is that detection capability and MIS governance are comparatively well covered, while a handful of cross-cutting issues, explainability at the implementation level, how employees behave once AI is in the loop, energy-aware security operations, and the practical limits of federated learning, are thinner than their real-world importance would suggest. The paper closes by naming its own limitations and laying out where empirical work still needs to happen.

Abstract

General Background Modern education requires analytical reasoning skills to evaluate evidence, formulate logical decisions, and solve complex educational challenges. Specific Background Successfully resolving unconventional numerical problems demands persistent cognitive effort, which relies heavily on a student's psychological endurance and their sequential cognitive stages. Knowledge Gap While previous research connects resilience to problem-solving, literature lacks a comprehensive mapping of how different endurance categories specifically govern the sequential stages of encoding, storage, retrieval, and monitoring during complex cognitive tasks. Aims This qualitative descriptive study examines analytical abilities across three psychological endurance categories in solving unconventional numerical tasks, viewed through the lens of cognitive sequential stages. Results Data from eighth-grade students reveal that highly resilient climbers optimally execute all analytical indicators alongside flawless cognitive sequencing. Moderate-endurance campers demonstrate adequate initial understanding but exhibit inconsistencies during the evaluation and monitoring phases. Conversely, low-resilience quitters display severe reasoning deficiencies, particularly struggling with encoding initial contexts and reflecting on potential solutions. Novelty This research distinctly maps psychological endurance categories directly onto cognitive mechanics, proving that mental tenacity fundamentally dictates the structural quality of logical reasoning. Implications Educational practitioners must tailor instructional scaffolding according to student psychological resilience to strengthen cognitive sequencing and overall reasoning capabilities. Highlights High psychological resilience guarantees optimal cognitive encoding and meticulous strategic evaluation. Moderate endurance leads to adequate problem comprehension but highly inconsistent solution monitoring. Low tenacity causes severe difficulties in understanding initial concepts and formulating logical reasoning. Abstract

General Background The uneven territorial distribution of primary care facilities creates structural barriers to equitable public access. Specific Background Bungo Regency faces geographical challenges across its vast territory of 4,769.60 km², resulting in unequal accessibility to its 19 medical facilities. Knowledge Gap While prior research explored mobile-based applications, a systematic geographical evaluation using standardized analytical methods remains absent for this region. Aims This study evaluates the geographical reach of 19 medical facilities across 17 sub-districts utilizing QGIS software to plan equitable service distribution. Results Applying a uniform 5 km radius, findings reveal that only 25.2% of the total regency area falls within the service range. Among the 17 sub-districts, three are fully reached, and fourteen are partially reached, with Limbur Lubuk Mengkuang and Bathin III Ulu recording the lowest accessibility at 9.0% and 10.9%, respectively. Novelty The research utilizes a homogeneous comparative Euclidean distance approach without urban-rural classification to uncover precise regional distribution disparities. Implications These findings provide foundational evidence for urgent policy interventions, specifically the development of auxiliary posts and mobile programs in critically underserved sub-districts to achieve regional equity. Abstract

The successful implementation of mandatory organizational information systems depends not only on system adoption but also on user satisfaction. However, most post-adoption evaluation studies have focused on voluntary systems, leaving mandatory public sector deployments substantially underexplored. This study evaluates the determinants of employee satisfaction with the Coretax Administration System, a nationwide integrated tax platform implemented by the Directorate General of Taxes in Indonesia. To provide a comprehensive explanation of post-adoption evaluation, this research integrates the Expectation Confirmation Model (ECM) and the Information System Success Model (ISSM), examining how system quality, information quality, and service quality influence confirmation and perceived usefulness, which in turn determine user satisfaction. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 292 employees actively using the system and analyzed through Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results demonstrate that the integrated model exhibits strong predictive power, explaining 76.4% of the variance in user satisfaction. System quality emerged as the most influential determinant, significantly affecting confirmation and perceived usefulness, which subsequently drives satisfaction. Meanwhile, information quality and service quality showed selective effects, indicating that technical reliability plays a more critical role than supportive features in a mandatory environment. The findings offer actionable guidance for policymakers and IS architects engaged in large-scale compulsory digital transformation initiatives in the public sector.

Abstract

Hospitals are required to ensure that medical and non-medical personnel maintain valid competencies through periodic mandatory training to support patient safety and accreditation compliance. PT RS PELNI still relied on manual documentation of employee training and certification records, making it difficult to monitor compliance status, identify certificates approaching expiration, and obtain centralized information for managerial decision-making. This study aimed to design and develop the Mandatory Training Monitoring Information System (SIMON), a web-based application for managing employee data, mandatory training categories, training histories, and real-time certification monitoring. The system was developed using a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the Waterfall software development model, while HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JavaScript were employed for the front-end and Firebase Authentication together with Cloud Firestore served as the back-end infrastructure. Functional validation was conducted using Black Box Testing to evaluate the performance of all system modules. The results demonstrated that user authentication, employee management, training management, training history recording, and dashboard monitoring operated successfully according to predefined functional requirements. The implementation of Firebase enabled real-time data synchronization, allowing certificate status to be updated instantly without manual intervention. The proposed system improves administrative efficiency, supports timely monitoring of employee training compliance, and provides a scalable cloud-based solution for competency management in healthcare organizations.

Abstract

Timely graduation is now being impacted by non-academic stressors and technology use. This study goes beyond traditional models that rely solely on administrative data by incorporating physical and psychological dimensions, specifically Logistics Mobility (distance and duration of commute), Psychosomatic Fatigue, and AI Assistant Dependence. The data of 292 final year Information Systems students was balanced using Random Over Sampler. Models were compared between Random Forest and Support Vector Machine. Psychosomatic tiredness and AI assistant Dependence was the best predictive factor of delayed graduation, particularly for students commuting more than 25 km, who show more fatigue and higher AI reliance. In terms of algorithmic performance, Random Forest achieved an exceptional accuracy of 100%, while SVM followed closely with 98.28%. The results show the importance of physical exhaustion and digital dependency to identify students at risk of delay. The study finds that a student’s environment, in addition to cognitive ability, is a factor in whether or not they graduate on time. High reliance on AI indicates burnout, underscoring the importance of hybrid mentoring and AI literacy programs, particularly for commuting students.

Abstract

The digitalization era has transformed social interactions through social media, particularly among Indonesian youth with 204.7 million internet users. Implementation of the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (UU ITE) faces complex challenges among students as digital natives who exhibit a paradox between high technological capabilities and limited digital legal awareness. This study aims to analyze understanding levels and legal attitudes of students at SMA Negeri 1 Gianyar towards UU ITE and identify factors influencing the "digital legal awareness paradox". A descriptive quantitative method was employed involving 330 students through multiple-choice tests (25 items) to measure understanding and Likert scale questionnaires (25 items) to measure legal attitudes. Analysis focused on four indicators of legal understanding and three indicators of legal attitudes. Results show good understanding levels with an average of 80.36 but high variability (range 52-96), while student attitudes remain neutral at 3.5. Findings reveal a "digital legal awareness paradox" where students understand UU ITE's importance but worry about potential misuse, influenced by developmental psychology characteristics, digital native generation traits, and Social Learning Theory. This research provides important contributions for developing more effective digital legal education strategies.

Abstract

Schools require integrated approaches that enable adolescents to practice personal, social, and decision-making competencies rather than merely receive health information. This study examined how activities in an Indonesian Youth Information and Counseling Center (Pusat Informasi dan Konseling Remaja, PIK-R) were perceived to foster junior secondary students’ life skills and identified conditions supporting or constraining implementation. A descriptive qualitative case study was conducted at SMP Negeri 7 Kota Serang from October 2025 to January 2026. Data were generated through participant observation, in-depth interviews with eight informants—one PIK-R supervisor, one trainer, and six student members—and analysis of photographs, videos, organizational records, and program documents. Data were reduced, displayed, compared across sources, and interpreted through source and technique triangulation. Five interconnected activities—leadership training, self-management, life-skills training, peer educator preparation, and peer counselor preparation—were associated with six domains: physical and mental self-care, self-awareness and expression, cooperation, self-protection and assertiveness, logical decision-making, and goal planning. Adequate facilities, trained personnel, school funding, peer support, and collaboration with the population and family-development agency enabled implementation. Schedule conflicts and limited student interest restricted continuity and reach. PIK-R can function as a school-based positive youth-development setting when learning is practice-oriented, peer roles are supervised, and institutional support is sustained. Multi-site and longitudinal research should examine non-participants, program dosage, and changes measured with validated life-skills instruments.

Abstract

Advancements in digital technology have made it easier for students to access various English learning resources. However, this ease of access also increases the risk of information overload—a condition where the volume of information received exceeds an individual's capacity to process it effectively. This condition has the potential to influence students' extrinsic motivation during the learning process. This study aims to analyze the impact of information overload on students' extrinsic motivation in English learning using a literature review approach. A qualitative descriptive literature review method was employed. Data were gathered from ten scholarly articles published between 2018 and 2025, selected based on their relevance to the topics of information overload, extrinsic motivation, digital technology, and English learning. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques, involving identification, selection, thematic categorization, and the synthesis of research findings. The results indicate that the development of digital technology has a dual impact on students' extrinsic motivation. On one hand, easy access to diverse learning resources boosts students' motivation to achieve academic goals, such as obtaining good grades, meeting assignment requirements, and improving English proficiency. On the other hand, excessive exposure to information leads to confusion in selecting learning resources, increases cognitive load, reduces study focus, and potentially diminishes extrinsic motivation. The study concludes that digital literacy skills, information management, and the wise use of technology are crucial factors in minimizing the impact of information overload, thereby enabling a more effective English learning process.
