Abstract

Background: Information systems played a crucial role in improving efficiency and service quality in hospital pharmacy management. Effective medication management was essential to prevent medication errors and ensure medication availability. However, comprehensive, multidimensional evaluations remained limited. The PIECES framework was selected for its comprehensive assessment of system Performance, Information, Economy, Control, Efficiency, and Service. Objective: This study evaluated the implementation of the Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) at the Dr. Adhyatma General Hospital pharmacy using the PIECES framework and analyzed its correlation with user satisfaction. Methods: A non-experimental mixed-methods study was conducted using direct observations and expert-validated questionnaires. Using a total sampling method, 12 pharmacy staff members actively involved in medication management were included. Descriptive statistics were used to compute the PIECES dimension mean scores, and Spearman’s rank correlation was used to analyze their association with user satisfaction (p < 0.05). Results: The evaluated system demonstrated satisfactory capabilities across all PIECES dimensions, with an overall mean score of 4.19. The Information dimension scored highest (4.32), while Efficiency scored lowest (4.07), indicating a specific need to optimize workflow and usability. All dimensions were significantly and positively correlated with user satisfaction. Performance showed the strongest correlation (ρ = 0.82; p = 0.001), whereas Service showed the weakest, yet significant, association (ρ = 0.58; p = 0.041). Conclusion: The implementation of SIMRS effectively optimized pharmaceutical service management, operational efficiency, and clinical data accuracy. Due to limitations, including the small sample size and single-center design, the study recommended subsequent multicenter research with larger cohorts to validate these findings.

Abstract

This community service project is entitled "Utilization of Maritime Weather Information for Shipping Safety in Aceh Province." This community service will last for one month, namely August 2023, at the Class 1 Sultan Iskandar Muda Meteorological Station BMKG office, Cot Mancang, Kuta Baro District, Aceh Besar Regency. High waves can occur due to several factors. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration website and various other sources, these factors include strong winds, distance and travel time of the wind, differences in temperature and air pressure, interactions between waves, complex ocean currents, and underwater earthquakes. Many factors support the smooth and safe sailing of ships at sea. One of them is natural factors or weather conditions that will significantly influence shipping activities in Indonesia. Therefore, information about weather forecasts is very important in shipping activities. The purpose of this community service is to understand the importance of maritime weather information for shipping and fishermen to facilitate their activities. High waves are more common in the waters north of Sabang, the northern part of the Strait of Malacca, the waters west of Aceh, the Indian Ocean west of Aceh, and the surrounding areas. These areas frequently experience high waves because they are located in open seas, which are more prone to high waves. The waters between Sabang and Banda Aceh still have low to moderate wave heights.

Abstract

A plant disease inventory is an important early approach for detecting the presence of pathogens and obtaining an overview of the distribution of plant diseases in a location. This study aims to obtain preliminary information about the group of pathogens that cause diseases in horticultural plants in Leuwikopo Plantation, Dramaga District, Bogor Regency, based on field symptom observations. The research was conducted through a field survey using visual observation methods (based on disease symptoms) and documentation of disease symptoms in various horticultural crops. The initial identification of pathogens was carried out descriptively, with reference to the morphological characteristics of common symptoms observed in the field, and data were tabulated in Microsoft Excel. Observations show that disease symptoms are caused by a group of fungi, viruses, and bacteria. Based on the proportion of symptoms in the field, fungi were the most dominant group (46.15%), followed by viruses (38.46%), with the remaining cases suspected to be caused by bacteria and parasitic plants (Cuscuta sp.). The most common symptoms of the disease are sigatoka, yellowing, and leaf stripes. The information obtained from this study is expected to serve as initial data for understanding the presence and diversity of plant diseases in the Leuwikopo Plantation. In addition, the data can serve as an initial consideration in plant disease management planning and as a basis for further research.
