Abstract

Digital transformation has become an essential strategic initiative for higher education institutions seeking to improve service quality, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen data-driven governance. Despite the increasing adoption of digital technologies, limited empirical research has examined how Strategic Information Systems (SIS) contribute to Digital Transformation through the development of Digital Capability. This study investigates the relationship between Strategic Information Systems, Digital Capability, and Digital Transformation in the higher education context. An exploratory qualitative case study was conducted at University PGRI Yogyakarta (UPY), Indonesia. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, organizational documents, and insider inquiry, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that Strategic Information Systems serve as key enablers by providing integrated digital infrastructure, facilitating information sharing, and supporting organizational decision-making. These capabilities strengthen Digital Capability, which subsequently drives Digital Transformation across the institution. The study also shows that Digital Capability supports process integration, continuous system enhancement, service innovation, and data-driven governance practices. Informants also reported value creation in academic and administrative services. This research contributes to the Information Systems literature by providing exploratory evidence on the role of Digital Capability in linking Strategic Information Systems with Digital Transformation. The findings offer practical guidance for university leaders and information system managers in developing integrated digital ecosystems that support long-term institutional development.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze and describe the implementation of egovernment in improving tourism information services through the SRI GITARJA website in Mojokerto Regency. Method: This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, with informants selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis uses the Van Meter and Van Horn (1975) policy implementation theory covering six dimensions: Policy Standards and Objectives, Resources, Inter-organizational Communication and Implementing Activities, Characteristics of Implementing Agents, Social, Economic, and Political Conditions, and the Disposition or Attitude of Implementors. Results: The results show that the implementation of the SRI GITARJA website has not run optimally due to various obstacles, including limited financial resources and human resources in the field of information technology, technical problems such as submenu errors and recurring cyberattacks, low utilization of the online booking feature, and the absence of a structured evaluation mechanism. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in the application of Van Meter and Van Horn’s policy implementation theory to evaluate the implementation of e-government in tourism information services through the SRI GITARJA website in Mojokerto Regency. The study integrates six dimensions of policy implementation to identify the interrelated institutional, resource, technological, and user-utilization barriers affecting digital tourism services. In particular, it highlights the importance of addressing recurring cyberattacks, limited information technology resources, low utilization of online booking features, and the absence of a structured evaluation mechanism to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of local government digital tourism services.

Abstract

This paper discusses reports of the surveys on information needs of engineers which have been conducted in Indonesia in the last ten years. It also covers technological transformation in Indonesia, such as micro level technology indicator within 10 strategic industries. Various data centers! iriformation centres of different subjects are included in this paper. Based on the above mention surveys, it is concluded that: 1. Communication among information providers and engineers, especially those who are dealing with research and development is still weak. 2. Most engineers in Indonesia are lacking ofiriformation about the availability of S&T information sources in the country.3. Information/data centers are seattered diverse in various subjects and they haven't been linked each other yet. 4. So far, the qualitiy of S&T data/information provided has not met with the industrial development needs in the country. 5) Promotion on information sources haven't reached all engineers especially those who are dealing with R&D activities.

Abstract

If we were to draw up a list of ingredients that a country would need to develop a sustainable future for itself, that list would begin with things like permanent peace, security, political will, technology and, of course, adequate financial resources. However, not very far down that list would be access to the information needed to plan and manage for sustainable development. In fact over 170 governments strongly voiced this need at the 1992 UNCED World Summit when they added to the action plan, the famous Agenda 21, Chapter 40 calling upon government and international organizations to improve the global availability of information needed for sustainable development planning. research and management.

Abstract

In the 1960's man woke up to the fact that the human species, as it multiplies and relentlessly consumes, may at some not too distant future become a plague infesting this globe of ours-stripping it of 1ts freshwater, its so1l, its natural resources, and its flora and fauna and biodiversity, and thereby condemning it to death. This realization gave rise to a shared concern of our common future, and of the future of our ONLY ONE EARTH. This shared concern gave rise to the international environmental movement, and part of the resulting concerted efforts to safeguard our globe is the sharing of our environmental experiences, environmental data and environmental information included.

Abstract

There are a total of 581 special libraries and information sources unevenly distributed in 65 cities in Indonesia. The majority are located in Java, with the highest concentration in Jakarta. A large proportion of these libraries are affiliated to educational institutions/universities, with an interest in sciences in general, with a holding of 1,000 - 10,000 book volumes; only a small number of them have computer facilities. To optimize the services of these libraries and information centers, a National Scientific Documentation and Information Network System had been set up with four centers as focal points respectively in the fields of humanities, science & technology, biology & agricultural sciences, and health & medical sciences. No less than 14 institutions can be considered as data centers on various fields of science and technology. Some of them which deal with biological resources have worked together in a network under the coordination of the National Commission for the Preservation of Plant and Animal Genetic Resources. Fourteen of these tutions had been identified also as microbial collections.

Abstract

MSMEs play an important role in the Indonesian economy, but their productivity is far below that of big business. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced MSMEs to adapt in order to maintain their existence and reputation. A company's reputation has a great influence on stakeholder behavior and the achievement of organizational goals. The role of business agility and talent management can improve the reputation of MSMEs, but many Indonesian MSMEs do not have adequate business agility and talent management. This study aims to examine the influence of business agility and talent management on the reputation of MSMEs, with information technology infrastructure capabilities as a moderation variable. This study uses a quantitative approach with primary data from questionnaires distributed to culinary MSMEs in Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya. Samples were selected using the cluster random sampling method, and the data were analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of the study show that business agility and talent management have a positive and significant effect on the reputation of MSMEs. Information technology infrastructure capabilities also strengthen the relationship between business agility and talent management to the reputation of MSMEs. This research confirms the importance of a company's ability to demonstrate its agility and be able to sense and respond to market changes can maintain and improve performance. Agility is also very important, not only for the survival of the company, but also for success and winning in the market as well as effective talent management in improving the reputation of MSMEs in Indonesia. MSMEs need to improve their business agility and information technology infrastructure capabilities to compete in an increasingly dynamic business environment. A company's ability to quickly respond to market changes and proper talent management can help MSMEs improve their reputation and business performance.
