Abstract

Subject heading is a controlled vocabulary that describes the topic of adocument, which is important to find and organize library resources. Assigning appropriate subject headings to a document, however, is a time-consuming process. We therefore conduct a novel study on the effectiveness of information retrieval models, i.e.,language model (LM) andvector spacemodel (VSM), to automatically generate a ranked list of relevant subject headings, with the aim to give a recommendation for librarians to determine the subject headings effectively and efficiently. Our results show that there are a high number of our queries (up to 61%) that have relevant subject headings in the ten top-ranked recommendations and on average, the first relevant subject heading is found at the early position (3rd rank). This indicates that document retrieval methods can help the subject heading assignment process. LM and VSM are shown to have comparable performance, except when the search unit is title, VSM is superior to LM by8-22%. Our further analysis exhibits three faculty pairs that are potential to have research collaboration as their students’ thesis often have overlap subject headings: i) economy and business-social and political sciences, ii) nursing-public health and iii) medicine-public health.

Abstract

The authors of the article formulated the information monitoring system of Almaty city (The Republic of Kazakhstan). One of the urgent problems of the modern world is the ecological safety of the urban environment. The well-known unfavorable natural and anthropogenic factors of the Almaty city include the following: geographical and climatic features of the area, the lack of technologies for monitoring atmospheric air and traffic jams. All of the above factors increase the emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere, in particular, toxic heavy metals. A promising direction for solving this problem is the development of real-time monitoring using a mathematical model of data assimilation and the creation of software that allows you to assess the state of the system in real time. In this regard, this article describes the developed information system for the algorithm of data assimilation that optimizes the process of monitoring atmospheric air pollution with heavy metals.

Abstract

Data centers are primarily the main targets of cybercriminals and security threats as they host various critical information and communication technology (ICT) services. Identifying the threats and managing the risks associated with data centers have become a major challenge as this will enable organizations to optimize their resources to focus on the most hazardous threats to prevent the potential risks and damages. The objective of this paper is to identify major ICT security threats to data centers in the Malaysian public sector and their causes. The data for this study was collected through interview sessions. A total of 33 respondents from various government organizations were interviewed. The results revealed that the technical threats, spyware, phishing, bluesnarfing threats, social engineering and virus, trojan, malware, ransomware, viral websites threats are the major categories of threats often encountered by the malaysian public sector organizations. The causes for these threats are lack of budget, competent personnel, and manpower for security tasks, user awareness; lack of compliances and monitoring; insufficient security policies and procedures as well as deliberate cyber attacks. The outcome of this study will give a greater degree of awareness and understanding to the ICT security officers, who are entrusted with data center security.

Abstract

Scabies paling tinggi terjadi di negara tropis, salah satunya Indonesia. Prevalensi scabies di Indonesia sebesar 4.60%-12.95%, penyakit ini menduduki urutan ketiga dari 12 penyakit kulit tersering. Timbulnya scabies erat kaitannya dengan kebersihan personal dan lingkungan. Perilaku personal menjadi salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi dalam penularan penyakit scabies. Oleh karena itu perlu diberikan edukasi tentang pentingnya personal hygiene, salah satunya melalui pendekatan Model Information Motivation Behavior Skill (IMB). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan dengan Pendekatan Model Information Motivation Behavior Skill (IMB) terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan tentang personal hygiene pada santri di pesantren Barkatul Huda. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pre-eksperiment dengan teknik one group pre-test and post-test design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh santri sebanyak 250 orang. Teknik sampling dalam penelitian ini adalah random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 154 orang. Intsrumen penelitian menggunakan SAP, leaflet dan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukan P value = 0,000 < a = 0.05, maka Ho ditolak yang artinya bahwa ada pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan dengan pendekatan Model Information Motivation Behavior Skill (IMB) terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan santri tentang personal hygiene di pesantren Barkatul Huda Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat dijadikan acuan agar terlaksana kegiatan-kegiatan yang menunjang kesadaran masyarakat pesantren akan pentingnya personal hygiene.

Abstract

An important task in music information retrieval of Indian art music is the recognition of the larger musicological frameworks, called ragas, on which the performances are based. Ragas are characterized by prominent musical notes, motifs, general sequences of notes used and embellishments improvised by the performers. In this work we propose a convolutional neural network-based model to work on the mel-spectrograms for classication of steady note regions and note transition regions in vocal melodies which can be used for finding prominent musical notes. It is demonstrated that, good classification accuracy is obtained using the proposed model.

Abstract

We propose the feature selection method based on the dependency between features in an unsupervised manner. The underlying assumption is that the most important feature should provide high dependency between itself and the rest of the features. Therefore, the top m features with maximum dependency scores should be selected, but the redundant features should be ignored. To deal with this problem, the objective function that is applied to evaluate the dependency between features plays a crucial role. However, previous methods mainly used the mutual information (MI), where the MI estimator based on the k-nearest neighbor graph, resulting in its estimation dependent on the selection of parameter, k, without a systematic way to select it. This implies that the MI estimator tends to be less reliable. Here, we introduce the leastsquares quadratic mutual information (LSQMI) that is more sensible because its tuning parameters can be selected by cross-validation. We show through the experiments that the use of LSQMI performed better than that of MI. In addition, we compared the proposed method to the three counterpart methods using six UCI benchmark datasets. The results demonstrated that the proposed method is useful for selecting the informative features as well as discarding the redundant ones.

Abstract

Al-Quran is a holy book that contains instructions and instructions for the life of Muslims. In the Al-Quran there are interpretations quoted from the previous verse and have an implied meaning, so to be able to obtain these verses textually and contextually it is necessary to classify the interpretation of the Al-Quran to facilitate Muslims in finding topics in theAl-Quran. In this study, it is proposed to classify the topic of Al-Quran verses in English translation which consists of three classifications, namely commands, prohibitions and others. In this research the system design is done by collecting datasets, preprocessing to get clean data, selecting features using gain information, classifying using the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) method, and testing the system. The results of the tests conducted resulted in a value 64,10% for accuracy, 63% for precision, and 62.68% for recall using the value of k = 17 and the dataset containing data testing and data training of 1:9, respectively.Keywords: classification, topics of Al-Quran, K-Nearest Neighbor, Information gain.

Abstract

Penjadwalan perkuliahan menjadi salah satu masalah bagi setiap perguruan tinggi jika masih bersifat konvensional dalam pengelolaannya. Berbagai metode pengembangan sistem informasi dan algoritma yang dapat diterapkan untuk pemecahan permasalahan penjadwalan. Kontribusi penelitian ini adalah mencari metode pencarian yang belum banyak dipakai dalam masalah penjadwalan. Metode SLR digunakan dalam penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sistem informasi untuk penjadwalan perkuliahan dapat menjadi solusi dalam pembuatan jadwal perkuliahan yang terkomputerisasi berbasis web dengan ditemukan berbagai penelitian sejenis, didapatkan pula metode pengembangan sistem yang dapat digunakan seperti Rapid Applications Development. Menjadi tantangan selanjutnya untuk bisa menerapkan salah satu metode dalam algoritma informed searching untuk permasalahan penjadwalan perkuliahan, karena dalam jurnal sebelumnya telah banyak menerapkan algoritma genetika.

Abstract

Assessment of the performance of the Study Program is a routine activity carried out by the College to continuously improve the quality of its services. One form of assessment of the performance of the study program is the accreditation of the institution. Therefore, it is necessary to build a system that is able to perform automatic assessment of the performance of the study program. In performance assessments are often found the variables used are quantitative and / or qualitative. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) can be viewed as an aggregation operator for variables of quantitative and qualitative value. This Study Program performance assessment system uses the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method and the software development method used, rad (rapid application development).This system produces an efficiency value of the level of performance of all Study Programs at the Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif in general and the Graphic Design Study Program (Kampus Medan) in particular, whether it is optimal or not, if not then this system aims to provide material consideration of the value of variables / attributes that need to be reduced or added. The data obtained from these measurements can be used as an analysis of the situation of the next program. The way this application works is designed using the php programming language, and the CodeIgniter framework, on the database server section using MySQL
