Abstract

Program Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) merupakan salah satu stratefi penting dalam mendukung internasionalisasi bahasa Indonesia. Upaya tersebut membutuhkan pengajar BIPA yang kompeten dan terlatih sehingga diperlukan penguatan kapasitas bagi calon pengajar, khususnya mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia (PBSI) JBSI FBS UNM. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menguatkan kompetensi mahasiswa sebagai calon pengajar BIPA, memberikan pengalaman langsung mengajar penutur asing, dan menghasilkan bahan ajar, tugas, serta konten edukatif bagi kebutuhan mitra. Pengabdian dilakukan melalui program internship pada tiga lembaha BIPA, yaitu UPT Bahasa UNJ, UPI, dan UM, dengan melibatkan 24 mahasiswa PBSI JBSI UNM dalam rentang waktu empat bulan. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi persiapan, pelaksanaan (seat-in, tutor sebaya, pembuatan bahan ajar, pembuatan konten), serta evaluasi oleh instruktur dan mentor lembaga mitra. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa terlibat aktif sebagai asisten instruktur, tutor, dan pendamping kelas pada program reguler, darmasiswa, dan pascasarjana. Mahasiswa juga menghasilkan bahan ajar BIPA level A-1 dan A-2, media audio-visual, artikel ke-BIPA-an, serta video publikasi program. Pelajar BIPA merasakan manfaat pendampingan berupa peningkatan kelancaran berbicara dan pemahaman materi. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi signifikan bagi mitra dalam pemenugan kebutuhan tenaga pendamping dan pengayaan sumber belajar, sekaligus meningkatkan kesiapan mahasiswa sebagai calon pengajar BIPA. Program internship terbukti efektif sebagai strategi penguatan kompetensi dan mendukung upaya internasionalisasi bahasa Indonesia melalui kolaborasi perguruan tinggi dan lembaga BIPA

Abstract

ABSTRACT The BIPA program is a form of soft diplomacy because in the process, BIPA not only teaches Indonesian but also introduces Indonesian culture. This is in line with the goal of soft diplomacy, which is to achieve interests in peaceful or non-violent ways, for example by introducing languages and cultures to other countries with the aim of improving their country's positive image and improving bilateral relations. This research aims to find out how BIPA is implemented in Thailand and how BIPA supports Indonesia's soft diplomacy to Thailand in 2019-2024. This study uses the concept of soft diplomacy to see the effectiveness of BIPA in supporting Indonesia-Thailand soft diplomacy. This study uses a qualitative approach with data analysis from interviews, literature studies, and internet-based methods. The results of this study show that BIPA is an important and effective instrument in supporting Indonesia's soft diplomacy to Thailand, because it is able to increase Thai citizens' interest in Indonesian language and culture. This has a positive impact on Indonesia's image and increases its attractiveness as a tourist destination and potential business partner. Abstract

Characters, which described in the story are more interesting aspects as living as a human. Isuri and Hanafi are the central characters in Oddang’s short story who narrate how the character’s inner experiences that are unpleasant as a minority and make various efforts to reach the stage of actualizing themselves as a normal human being. This paper aims to analyze he needs level aspects of the central characters in two short stories Orang-orang dari Selatan harus Mati Malam itu and Di sana, Lima Puluh Tahun yang Lalu, using the Abraham Harold Maslow’s humanistic psychology approach. The data analyzed by using a descriptive qualitative technique with data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Results of the study showed that physiological needs, in particular, Isuri reached his needs through spirituality, while, Hanafi focused on the fulfillment of house; safety needs, Isuri avoided the chasing of state apparatus with hiding in the forest, then Hanafi decided to be Netherlands citizens to protect himself from the trouble. Love needs and belonging, make Isuri maintains his relationship with Upe even though the reality is not occurring as expected, Hanafi then preferred anomaly with having a love for the same-sex named Mapatang. Self esteem needs, Isuri defended his religion Tolotang, Hanafi tried to be a bissu to avoid cursing from his village. For the sefl-actualization needs, Isuri persuaded Uak to obtain civil rights, Hanafi actualized his self to learn the epic I La Galigo of the bissu hoby book.AbstrakTokoh fiksi adalah aspek yang lebih menarik banyak perhatian, seolah-olah hidup seperti manusia. Isuri dan Hanafi adalah tokoh utama dalam cerpen Oddang yang menarasikan bagaimana pengalaman batin tokoh yang tidak menyenangkan sebagai orang minoritas dan melakukan berbagai upaya mencapai tahap mengaktualisasikan diri sebagai manusia normal. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis aspek tingkat kebutuhan tokoh utama dalam dua cerpen Orang-orang dari Selatan harus Mati Malam Itu dan Di Sana, Lima Puluh Tahun yang Lalu menggunakan pendekatan psikologi humanistik Abraham Harold Maslow. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif dengan penerapan reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebutuhan fisiologis, tokoh Isuri memenuhi kebutuhan ini lewat spiritualitas, sementara Hanafi berpusat pada pemenuhan tempat tinggal; kebutuhan rasa aman, Isuri menghindari kejaran aparat negara dengan bersembunyi dalam hutan, lalu Hanafi memutuskan menjadi warga negara Belanda demi melindungi diri dari marabahaya. Kebutuhan cinta dan rasa memiliki membuat, Isuri bersikeras mempertahankan hubungannya dengan Upe walaupun praktiknya tidak terpenuhi, Hanafi memilih anomali, yakni menjalin cinta dengan sesama jenisnya yang bernama Mapatang. Kebutuhan rasa harga diri/penghargaan, Isuri mempertahankan agamanya Tolotang, Hanafi berusaha menjadi bissu demi menghindarkan tulah di kampungnya. Kebutuhan aktualisasi diri, Isuri membujuk Uak memeroleh hak sipil warga negara, Hanafi mengaktualisasi dengan memperdalam mempelajari epos I La Galigo kitab bissu.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the benefits of Indonesian language learning for foreign speakers (BIPA) through the Selasar platform for international students at Universitas Muslim Nusantara Al-Washliyah. BIPA plays a vital role in facilitating the academic and social adaptation of international students in Indonesia. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observations and questionnaires administered to BIPA participants. The findings indicate that the use of Selasar in BIPA learning provides several significant advantages, including improved access to learning materials, flexible learning schedules, and enhanced understanding of Indonesian culture. Moreover, the platform fosters interaction between students and instructors as well as among peers. However, certain challenges were identified, such as unstable internet connectivity and difficulties in adapting to the online learning environment. Overall, the results suggest that Selasar is an effective tool for supporting BIPA instruction, and further development of its content and features is recommended to optimize the learning experience for international students.

Abstract

Abstrak Kearifan lokal tentang insiden lumpur Lapindo adalah cerita rakyat tentang kejadian di masa lalu yang dapat digunakan sebagai pelajaran pada masa kini dan masa depan, tentang dongeng Candi Tawangalun dan dongeng Emas Ketimun. Terlepas apakah itu sebuah dongeng yang pernah terjadi secara empiris atau hanya realitas-fiksi, kehadirannya dapat digunakan sebagai pijakan untuk memahami peristiwa (bencana) dari perspektif budaya. Wawasan Geo-Budaya dan Geo-Mitologi dalam cerita rakyat Lapindo bisa menjadi alternatif bahan pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis kearifan lokal dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia untuk penutur asing karena kontekstualitas dan substansi nilai-nilai yang terkandung di dalamnya sangat menarik. Praktek pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia untuk penutur asing di Australia diketahui bahwa cerita tradisi lisan tapi cerita hanya sebagai pelengkap tradisi lisan sama pentingnya dengan pengetahuan tentang tata bahasa, bahkan dengan pengenalan tradisi lisan cerita, pembelajar BIPA akan mengetahui tentang budaya Indonesia. Kata-kata kunci: cerita rakyat, Geo-Culture, Geo-Mythology, kearifan lokal, BIPA Abstract Local wisdom about Lapindo mudflow incident is the folklore about the events in the past that can be used as a lesson on the present and future, that fairy tales Tawangalun Temple and fairy tale Golden Cucumber. Regardless whether it's a fairy tale ever happened empirically or just reality-fiction, its presence can be used as a foothold for understanding the events (disasters) from the perspective of the present culture. Insights Geo-Culture and Geo-Mythology in Lapindo folklore can be an alternative contextual teaching materials based on local wisdom in learning Indonesian for foreign speakers because contextuality and substance of the values contained in it very interesting. Practice learning Indonesian for foreign speakers in Australia is known that oral tradition story but the story only as a complement to the oral tradition is just as important as knowledge of grammar, even with the introduction of the oral tradition of story, BIPA learners will know the culture of Indonesia.Keywords: folklore, Geo-Culture, Geo-Mythology, local wisdom, BIPA

Abstract

STRUKTUR KALIMAT TUNGGALDALAM KARANGAN BAHASA INDONESIA MAHASISWA ASING TINGKAT PEMULADI BIPA UMM M. IsnainiProgram Bahasa Indonesia untuk Penutur Asing (BIPA)Universitas Muhammadiyah Malangkrisnayumi@yahoo.co.idAbstrak: Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan karakter kalimat tunggal dalam bahasa Indonesia yang ditulis oleh mahasiswa asing tingkat pemula di BIPA UMM. Berdasarkan jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif, adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif-eksploratif. Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah pembelajar asing program Darmasiswa di BIPA UMM. Jumlah pembelajar asing dalam satu kelas pemula itu sebanyak tujuh orang, yang terdiri atas 3 orang Asia dengan seorang laki-laki, dan 4 orang Eropa dengan seorang laki-laki. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kata-kata dan kalimat dalam bahasa Indonesia yang terdapat pada karangan yang dibuat oleh pembelajar asing tingkat pemula di BIPA UMM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan; Pertama, kalimat tunggal berpola tidak gramatikal (tidak seksama)-tidak lazim-dipahami. Kedua, kalimat tunggal berpola tidak gramatikal (tidak seksama)-lazim-dipahami. Ketiga, kalimat tunggal berpola gramatikal (seksama)-tidak lazim-dipahami. Keempat, kalimat tunggal berpola gramatikal (seksama)-lazim-dipahami (G-L-D).Kata kunci: bahasa Indonesia, kalimat tunggalAbstract: This study describes single sentence characteristics of the composition written in Indonesian language by the freshmen studying at Darmasiswa Program in BIPA UMM. This qualitative study uses descriptive, explorative analysis. The data sources were the seven freshmen studying at Darmasiswa Program consisting of three Asian (two males, one female) and four European (three females, one male). The data were the words and sentences used in their composition. The results are: (1) ungrammatical (incorrect)-uncommoncomprehensible single sentences; (2) ungrammatical (incorrect)-common-comprehensible single sentences; (3) grammatical (correct)-common- comprehensible single sentences.Key words: Indonesian language, single sentence

Abstract

This study examines the use of languages by foreign students in learning the Indonesian language for foreign speakers (BIPA). Sociolinguistic approach is employed in which in-depth interview is used to elicit the reseach data. Sociolinguistic analysis is conducted by considering the social context of the speech components. The results show that the dominant use of Indonesian language by the learners is the language of instruction acquired in the process of learning the language. English emerges as the language of mediation between teachers and students spoken when they have difficulties in learning. Another language that appears in the language learning is Javanese which is the vernacular of Surakarta. Aspects of Indonesian cultural context should be taught to the learners. A variety of language styles for formal and informal conversation must be understood by foreign students so as to avoid errors in language usage.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop BIPA’s teaching materials in intermediate level with reference ACTFL, integrative learning model, and communicative with design eligibility notice, presentation, content, language, and application. Data obtained from observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative techniques. The study states that the teaching materials developed worthy and ready to be implemented. There revisions on the book's cover, captions, sheets offerings, variations in grammar exercises, and language in the preface.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan bahan ajar BIPA tingkat madya dengan acuan ACTFL, model pembelajaran integratif, dan komunikatif dengan memerhatikan kelayakan kegrafikan, penyajian, isi, bahasa, dan penerapan. Data diperoleh dari observasi, wawancara, dan angket. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan layak dan siap diimplementasikan. Terdapat revisi pada sampul buku, keterangan gambar, lembar persembahan, variasi latihan tata bahasa, dan bahasa pada kata pengantar.

Abstract

In the effort to introducing and consolidating Indonesian language to the world and ASEAN level, there are a few of options but teaching and mastering Bahasa Indonesia (BI). Through the teaching of Bahasa indonesia for foreign speaker (BIPA), it can be a media of language and culture diplomacy and brings indonesian language as lingua franca in ASEAN community, as happen in Thailand. Therefore, some efforts need to be done in order to realize that through the teaching of BIPA. to increase the interest in learning BI in abroad, to improve the image of the Indonesia as a nation and make BI as Lingua franca, which 1.System BIPA teaching abroad, 2) the material of BIPA, the BIPA learning is not always teach people about the language but also includes material about the culture and Indonesian literature. 3) the purposes of teaching BIPA, to prepare Indonesian language tobe lingua franca in the Asean community.

Abstract

Indonesian studies for foreign speakers is still a new feld. Verbal behavior between lecturers and foreign students in this study approached with sosiopragmatik theory. The data collection is done by: participatory observation; structured interviews; and in-depth interviews. In the data collection tools used in audio recorder, a camera, and stationery. Analyzed using qualitative analysis with the methods of analysis: descriptive and categorical, then, theoretically interpret this categorization. In this study found six languages, beside Indonesian langiage used in learning interactions: English, French, Arabic, Chinese, Myanmar, and Java. English is used to help better understand Indonesian foreign students (disclosure purposes). French is used for setting the example. Arabic and Myanmar used to frequently asked questions concept. Chinese used to explain one of the vibrant Chinese culture in Indonesia. Java language is used to explain the meaning of the word / name from the Javanese and to express emotions. In quantitative terms, the use of the English language is more prominent than the use of another language. It is mainly found in the verbal behavior Lecturer and Lecturer Two Three.
