Abstract

Fast becomes one of the expressions of penance from the Christians during the Lent. Fast is an effort of mortification. Aksi Puasa Pembangunan (APP) is an act of fast in the form of alms. Through the APP, the penance is directed to build His Kingdom (compared to LG art 1). In this case, the Kingdom of God is not created by human, but it is by God. Human only participates in the process, and prepare His coming until He comes and give the fulfilment. Vision of “constructing” in APP is based on the self-renewal which give birth the social renewal in the society. In the period of construction, fast is directed to the actions which can lead human to his entity. APP movement enable the development of Christians to be more responsible for his own life and the society.

Abstract

Theological reflection on grace has a long history. Disput between Augustine and Pelagius on grace has been very well known. In modern times, controversy about grace was raised in the dispute between the dominicans (Thomism) and the Jesuits (Molinism). Learning from weaknesses in those debates, a theological reflection with the 'liberty' paradigm affirms that grace must be understood as nothing other than Godself in action and relation to human beings. Gratia increata should not be separated from gratia creata. Grace is given not only because of human sin, but because of an essence that longs for fulfillment. The working power of grace is not an absolute one as not to leave space for human freedom. Accordingly, grace should not be understood as merely an inward thing. The historical aspect of grace should not be ignored.

Abstract

Bagaimana komunitas kristiani yang lahir dari peristiwa kebangkitan Kristus, dari masa ke masa tetap setia pada pengalaman dasarnya itu? Bagaimana dijelaskan dinamika internalnya sebagai pendengar Sabda Allah dan sekaligus sebuah komunitas historis yang mengalami perubahan? Komunitas kristiani dari masa ke masa mewartakan kabar gembira Yesus Kristus yang menyelamatkan dan berkembang dengan aneka macam tradisi yang sebagian lebih menekankan ciri kelembagaannya, kharisma para pemimpinnya atau pun kepatuhan kepada Roh Kudus atau Sabda Allah saja. Tulisan ini ingin mengulas pengalaman dasar dan dinamika komunitas para murid Yesus ini terutama sebagai pendengar Sabda, serta sarana-sarana organisatoris bagi pelestariannya seperti ajaran dan perayaan iman serta kuasa mengajar.

Abstract

Our world now is economic world because it is colored by economic activities. Economic activities occur when two parties agree to the value or price of the transacted good or service, commonly expressed in a certain currency. A modern market is based on economy where goods and services are produced without interference and let the market run according to demand and supply. This article will deals with the John Locke’s concept about the economy, Adam Smith’s concept about the liberal economy, critic’s Karl Marx to the liberal economy, business and free market. The end of this article, I will present how the Catholic Church sees the economic activities as human activity for human development.

Abstract

The gospel of John offers new ideas and meanings about eschatology. One of those newnesses is about the temporal meaning of the eschaton. This paper will discuss the John’s presentation on the eschatology and its meaning by analyzing some particular passages in the Gospel of John. The meaning of eschatology is found in public service and preachings of Jesus. Each person who believes in Jesus and lives in His way reach eternal life.

Abstract

Interreligious tolerance in this nation may be achieved through the understanding of local religions’ concept on tolerance, which is practiced by indigenous community. The understanding is expected to gradually reduce religious prejudice. Once, the understanding of other religion is reached, religious difference will not triggered conflict among people from different religious background, in contrary the difference will be treated as a gift of God. This paper attempts to open Pandora box of Samin community perceived to be atheist. Understanding God in the religion of Adam (Samin people’s religion) is the foundation of awareness that Samin people also believe in God and perform their own religious obligations, such as pray and fasting. Meanwhile, the government categorizes the religion of Adam as belief system, not religion. There is difference between belief system and religion.

Abstract

Kasus bunuh diri di antara kaum muda yang bertambah jumlahnya misalnya di Filipina, Korea, Jepang dan China merupakan masalah kemanusiaan yang sekaligus menantang kaum beriman. Apakah pengalaman keputusasaan itu nyata? Manakah pesan kristiani yang layak disampaikan kepada keluarga yang ditinggalkan dan kepada masyarakat yang dibayang-bayangi kasus bunuh diri? Bagaimanakah memahami dan mewartakan iman kristiani yang berdimensi pengharapan? Struktur pengharapan kristiani berdiri pada Yesus Kristus yang dibangkitkan Allah dengan jiwa dan raganya. Hal ini mendorong kita untuk meyakini kebaikan intrinsik dan integral dari setiap ciptaan, serta untuk tidak mnutup mata terhadap kekuatan kejahatan yang dapat menggerogotinya.

Abstract

Karya pelayanan Gereja tampak paling jelas dalam pelayanan teritorial yang secara tradisional disebut “Paroki”. Di banyak Keuskupan di seluruh dunia, pelayanan paroki menjadi karya andalan tetapi sekaligus juga menjadi lembaga pelayanan yang lama kelamaan membeku dalam suatu model pelayanan yang seragam. Paradigma pelayanan parokial yang dihidupi di banyak paroki dan menggantungkan pada satu figur “pastor paroki” menjadikan karya pelayanan itu terasa mandeg. Tulisan ini – yang dilengkapi dengan sharing pengalaman pastoral di Keuskupan Agung Semarang- mengajak pembaca terutama yang sudah berkecimpung dalam karya-karya parokial untuk berfikir ulang sekaligus kreatif demi menjaga agar karya parokial tidak stagnan dan membeku dalam pelayanan yang stereotip. Salah satu ide pokok dalam tulisan ini adalah berpastoral dengan menggunakan data. Data yang dimaksudkan di sini adalah segala macam informasi yang diperlukan oleh petugas pastoral (baik pastor maupun partisipan pastoral lainnya) untuk mengembangkan karya pastoral secara kontekstual. Kontekstualisasi pelayanan yang dimaksud di sini terkait dengan keadan hidup sosial dan budaya orang-orang Asia yakni: isu kemiskinan, kondisi multikultural dan plualitas agama. Dalam konteks semacam itu, sudah saatnya para pelaku pastoral, terutama mereka yang terkait dengan paroki sebagai basis teritorial umat beriman, berpikir lanjut mengenai karya pelayanan pastoralnya.

The most important mission of a community called Church today remains in discerning the will of God and being a prophet who speaks God’s word, a priest who sanctifies and a shepherd or king who cares. This missionary call should in turn be the mission of the people of God and all baptized Christians as community as well as individual. How do we exercise our prophetic ministry today? Which of God’s plans of salvation is urgently to be delivered for the betterment of our society and our world today?

Abstract

Prophetic function played important role in the Old Testament people as well as the people of New Testament. A prophet is a person who have particular gift to proclaim the will of God. Jesus is known as a great prophet by the people. His prophetic role leads Him to offer Himself to death, though He was raised by God afterward. It is true that prophetic function receded steadily in the ancient Church and the period that follows. But then, this function gradually regains its place in the service of the bishop as the guardian of the true apostolic faith. Particularity of the teaching of the bishop is that they teach authentically (LG 25). One of their particular teaching is to teach qualified as dogma.
