After the Romantic period, visual art in the Catholic church tends to petrify its style. Realism is the apparent style acknowledged by the Church. Meanwhile, there are so many visual art styles emerged all around the world. One of these phenomena is the Crucified Christ in Wayang Purwa style, a Javanese-Christian hybrid that has been popular in the last two decades in its various forms. Wayang is experienced as a cultural identity by Javanese people, and therefore its visual art, the Wayang Purwa style, is also experienced as part of cultural identity. The Crucified Christ is the most popular example of the hybridization between this Javanese art and Christian theme. This is the object of the study. A contextual Christology shall be constructed from an experience of that object, in light of studies in Asian Christology. The result is a Javano-Christian image of the crucified Christ. Javanese people, who love delicate aestethics and ethics, understand Jesus Christ as a Javanese mystical Guru, a perfect harmony of humanity and divinity, and clothed as a pandhita. His frail and simple humanity embody his divinity which enables him to overcome his pain and sufferings on the cross.

Repentance is one of the most important theme in Gods salvific plan for human being. Somehow nowadays, repentance seems unfavourable for many. People tend to look down on guilty feeling, avoiding any form of judgement or punishment, and to fall into misunderstandings of repentance as well as the sacrament of reconciliation. Repentance needs to be preached continuously, yet with a more positive approach. One way to do it is to use a joyful image of repentance, which indeed can be found in the Scripture and the Doctrine of Church. By finding those images, repentance will bring more joy, not only for the angels in heaven (cf. Luke 15:10), but for the people in the world, especially those who has good will to repent.

Although religions teach peace, hope and love, massive acts of violence have been taking place in their names. Any religion can become a home of violence and fanaticism, and Christianity is no exception. The sacred texts of a religion influence and determine the views of an adherent on the world and other human beings. It is the sacred scripture that governs the life and world views of a Christian. This article treats the debates of the scholars on the Pauline usage of "?????????????" and proposes a relevant interpretation which will help the Church's peaceful co-existence in multi-religious societies.

In the Encyclical of Ecclesia de Eucharistia, John Paul II states that Eucharist unites Church with God. In Eucharist, the presence of Christ is real. As a consequence, understanding Eucharist as merely series of rubrics is a form of reduction of the Eucharist. In the Encyclical, the Pope recalled the thought of Ignatius of Antioch on the Eucharist. Both John Paul II and Ignatius stated that Eucharist is a thanksgiving on the salvation of God. Eucharist is an invitation of God for the Church to live in the presence of God. The living experience of loving God supports the Church in transforming the world. The Church receives the power of Loving God in the Eucharist that strengthens each witness to live an exemplary Christian life here and now.

This article is pertained to the Papuan Christology that has so far been developed. The writer attempts to reflect and study it based on the Asian Christology. The fundamental question of this study is: Who do you say I am? (cf. Mat 16:15-16). In answering this question, the Papuan Christology becomes the first main point, namely cultural reflection on the concept of salvation and Papuan Christology. The second main point of discussion is that missionary preaching leads Papuans to interpret the western Christology in prayer and liturgy. Based on the analysis of Papuan culture, a number of titles are given to Jesus. From the reciprocal influence between the traditional religion of Papuans about salvation and the missionary preaching on Christian faith the Papuan Christology was born. The present Papuan context requires the study of Christology to respond to the third world challenge. The human right violations in Papua, for instance, is an apparent problem. Thus, a critical study on the Asian Christology has become considerably important. The present synthesis of the Papuan Christology is Jesus the Big Brother Almighty. Jesus Christ was born in Papua as He was born from God the Father all centuries before Him, and due to His Resurrection bound by no time and space as well as His Incarnation as a Human. Jesus as the Big Brother of Papuans fights for some of His Fathers missions in Papua, one of which is that He is sent as a Liberator.

The Congregation of the Sisters Servants of Christ (Abdi Kristus, AK) chose Saint Thrse of the Child Jesus as their second patron. The purpose of this choice was that the AK sisters follow her life in their life of prayer, communion as well as mission. To determine whether the sisters have been familiar with the simplicity of life and spirituality of Saint Thrse, the author conducted this extensive research. The results lead to the conclusion that the introduction of the spirituality of Saint Thrse of the Child Jesus still needs to be intensified with a study on her life, especially the life of prayer which is reflected in her autobiography and personal letters, particularly within the framework of the initial formation of the AK sisters.

The doctrine of the Resurrection in the Christian faith is still a relevant topic in theological debate for Christians themselves, non-Christians, or even atheists. The questions in this debate show that people desire to learn more about the topic. The presence of theologians who reflect on the Resurrection as a response to the development of the times can help people of all faiths to deepen their knowledge of the Resurrection. Two theologians who focused on the Resurrection were Thomas F. Torrance and Karl Rahner. They have different methodological approaches, and thus produce different theological conclusions. Torrance uses natural theology to examine the Resurrection. He emphasizes the nature of the object as a determinant of the subjects rational structure. In contrast to Torrance, Rahner offers a reflection of the resurrection that emphasizes the subject. The use of transcendental theology in examining the Resurrection results in the constitutive condition of humans as historical and transcendent beings. The differences of their Resurrection theological approaches show that Christian theology is plural. Each preserves and inherits a unique tradition of Protestant and Catholic theology and is influenced by their theological methods. Theology is not limited to the teachings of the Church, yet Church doctrines becomes a starting point and foundation for developing dynamic theological reflections to respond to contemporary developments.
