Abstract

ABSTRACT This skripsi, entitled “Kemahiran Menulis Karangan Narasi Dalam Bahasa Inggris Mahasiswa Semester IV Jurusan Sastra Inggris Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Sam Ratulangi” is an attempt to analyze the ability of the fourth semester English Department students in writing narrative essay. The data were taken from the students’ writing assignment. All data were classified based on the Keraf (2003:45) were scored using analytic scoring from1 to 5 on five aspects of evaluation : spelling and punctuation, vocabulary/diction, sentence structure, composition organization and narrative essay characteristics, and the relationship between theme and contents of the essay. The research findings show that, (1) 86,67% of the students got the highest score in spelling and punctuation; (2) 93,33% in vocabulary/diction; (3) 63,33% in sentence structure; (4) in evaluation of composition organization and narrative essay characteristics, 16,67% of the students wrote the complete essay while 76,67% students did not write one part of the essay, e.g. introductory or closing paragraph; and (5) in the relationship between theme and the contents of the essay, 50% of the students got the highest score. In addition, the total average of all aspects of evaluation is 87,2%. However, it is suggested that teachers should help students in writing better narrative essays by guiding them to have complete parts of the essay.     Keywords : Writing skill, narrative essay, essays.

Abstract

ABSTRACT            This study is entitled “The Use of Apposition in The Book of Isaiah (A Syntactic Analysis)”. The aims of this study is an attempt to identify, classify and analyze the function of apposition found in the book of Isaiah. The data were taken from the book of Isaiah based on the Holy Bible New International Version.            The method used in this study is descriptive method. There are three steps to finish this study, those are preparation, the writer reads some concepts related to the title about apposition and also browse resources from internet to find journal and skripsi. The second step is data collection. In collecting the data the writer read the book of Isaiah in order to identify and underline the use of apposition. After identifying the writer classifies the apposition based on the concept of Quirk et al. The third step is data analysis. The data were analyzed in term of the function using Aarts and Aarts theory.            The results of this study shows that there are fifty four appositions found in the book of Isaiah. Concerning types of apposition, they are : 1)Full, Strict and Non-restrictive Apposition; 2)Full, Strict and Restrictive Apposition; 3)Full, Weak and Restrictive Apposition; 4)Partial, Strict and Non-restrictive Appostion; 5)Partial, Weak and Non-restrictive apposition; 6)Partial, Strict and Restrictive Apposition; 7)Partial, Weak and Restrictive Apposition. Regarding the function of apposition found in the book of Isaiah, they are: 1)Subject; 2)Direct Object; 3)Subject Attribute; 4)Object Attribute and 5)Adverbial. Key Words: Syntax, Apposition. Abstract

ABSTRACT Sinonime は日本語に訳すると類義語と言う、幾つかの言葉で発音すると違う言葉だが意味がそっくりだと言う意味です。日本語の類義語は動詞だけではなく、名詞と形容詞にもある。例として「習う」及び「学ぶ」と言う動詞だ。これらの動詞の意味はインドネシア語で訳すると「Belajar」だが、使い分けが大変異なっている。それから「習う」および「学ぶ」という類意動詞(るいいどうし)の意味(いみ)および使(つか)い分(わ)け、に関(かん)して明(あき)らかにすることを目的(もくてき)とする。 本研究(ほんけんきゅう)のデータを集める方法は日本語の教書に載せている例文を集めて、次にデディステディの類意の理論に基づいて分析する。それから、レポートを書(か)く際(さい)に記述的(きじゅつてき)の理論(りろん)に基(もと)づいて書(か)くことにする。 分析(ぶんせき)の際、以下の結果を見つけた。「習う」は技術や技能の泳ぐことやピアノを弾くことや空手、茶道などに関する言葉に使用する。ただし指導教官に教えてもらうと言うことを表す。ところが、「学ぶ」は一般科のことを勉強することを表す。たとえば、大学で勉強したりするのを表す。   最後はこの成果が日本語教育現場に多少なりとも役立てばと思っている。 キーワード: 動詞習うおよび学ぶの意味、使い分けの分析、日本語文におなりとも役立てばと思っている。

SEJARAH KAMPUNG ISLAM DI KECAMATAN TUMINTING KOTA MANADO TAHUN 1954-2015 Nilfa Susassri, Ferry R. Mawikere, Fientje Thomas  Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Jurusan Ilmu Sejarah Universitas Sam Ratulangi, Manado Email: Nilfaauliasusassri@yahoo.com   ABSTRAK  Pembahasan  dalam  skripsi  ini  memusatkan  perhatian  pada  Sejarah  Kampung  Islam di  kota  Manado  dengan  melihat  perkembangan  Islam  yang  masuk  di  Kota  Manado sehingga  membawa  peranan  yang  sangat  baik  terhadap  masyarakat  khususnya  di  Kampung Islam.  proses  Islamisasi  yang  terjadi  di  Manado  dilihat  dari  faktor-faktor  penunjang  seperti  adanya  para  pedagang,  nelayan  dan  para  buruh  yang  kebanyakan  beragama  Islam dan  para  pemeluk  agama  Islam  di  Manado  yang  tidak  pernah  melupakan  kegiatan beribadah  serta  adanya  organisasi  sosial  keagamaan  lainnya. Sehubungan  dengan  isi  karya  ini,  metode  yang  digunakan  dalam  penelitian  ini adalah  metode penelitian  sejarah  yang  biasa  digunakan  dalam  penulisan  sejarah  yaitu heuristik,  kritik,   interpretasi  dan   historiografi.  Hal  ini  perlu  karena  penulisan  sejarah tidak  boleh  diterima  tanpa  adanya  pertanggung  jawaban  ilmiah.  Dalam  penganalisa  data historis  penulis  juga  menggunakan  bantuan  atau  pendekatan  ilmu-ilmu  sosial.   Pada  masa  arus  kedatangan  Islam  di  Manado,  Kampung  Pondol  dan  muara  sungai Tondano  sudah  banyak  penduduknya  dan  daerah  ini dikuasai  oleh  Belanda,  sehingga  sebagian  pindah  dipesisir   pantai   utara   Manado  di  daerah  Tuminting.  Dan  kemudian kampung  itu  mereka  namakan   Kampung  Islam.  Kampung  Islam  merupakan  salah  satu daerah  tertua  yang  didiami  oleh  orang  Islam  sehingga  menjadi  tempat  berkumpulnya  orang – orang  Islam  yang  datang  dari  berbagai  daerah.  Kata  Kunci : Sejarah Kampung Islam di Manado    ABSTRACT  Discussion of the thesis this zeroed in on the history of the village Islam in the city Manado to see the development of Islam enter in the city Manado so bring the role of a very good against people, especially in the village Islam. the process of islamisasi in Manado Happened in Manado be seen from the factors - factors  such as a supporting the existence of the trader, the fishermen and the workers who most religious Islam and the hugger religion Islam in Manado who never forget the worship as well as the other social organization religious. In connection with the contents of this work, which method in use in this study is the study the history of the usual in use in writing the history of the heuristics, critical, the interpretation of it and historiografi.it is necessary because writing history should not be accepted without any scientific for in the analysis of the historically. The writer also use the help or the science of social sciences.  On the currents of arrival islam in Manado, his pondol and the estuary of the river tondano already many populated and this area controlled by the Netherlands, so much moved beach northern shore Manado in the district Tuminting. And then his that they call home Islam. his Islam is one of the oldest inhabited by people Islam so into the gathering of people Islam came from various areas.  Keywords: The History of the village of islam in Manado

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research entitled “Error Analysis of English in Social Media WhatsApp”, is an attempt to identify, classify, analyze and describe the kinds of errors in the use of Social Media WhatsApp. This research is expected to help the language development and give information in order to increase knowledge to understand error analysis especially in the WhatsApp. Ellis’s theory is used to identify, classify and analyze the Error Analysis of English in Social Media WhatsApp. This research used an error analysis which has been done in several stages preparation was made by reading text status and chat in the WhatsApp. Data was taken from text status and chat in the WhatsApp. The writer use some techniques of analyzing the data, as follows, identification of error, classification of error and analyze of error. The result of this research shows that there are 71 total data in the “text status" and “chat” on WhatsApp. The 3 kinds of error analysis in the theory of Ellis, which are Ommision, Misinformation and Misordering. This research is expected to be a benefit for everyone especially for those who interested in Applied Linguistics. Keywords: Error Analysis, Status, Chat, WhatsApp

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is an attempt to describe and analyze the terms of address in the English and Kayupulo language. Both languages have two different groups of languages which have specific patterns of kinship terminologies. Both English and Kayupulo languages have a special and unique set of terms to indicate their kinship terminologies. The aim of this research is to compare and contrast the terms of address between English and Kayupulo language using Lado’s concept as well as using a descriptive method by Burling (1971) in which kinship terms are characterized by dimensions called “consanguineal’ and “afinal” whereas the concepts relating to the terms of address use the methods of Wardaugh, Burling and Lounsburry quoted in Leech to find out the similarities and differences. The English data were collected from several relevant text books and some sources from internet and previous thesis about the term of address that has been done before, whereas the Kayupulo language data were collected from informants through investigation. The result of this research shows that English and Kayupulo language terms of address have similarities in terms of sex, generation, lineage and age. The differences are that the English terms of address do not separate the age of relatives while Kayupulo language does. In terms of generation, the English and Kayupulo have the same generation such as four generations above and below ego.   Key words: Term of address, Analysis Contrastive, Generation

Abstract

ABSTRAKTION      Diese Untersuchung behandelt sich über “Intertextuelle Beziehung zur Einstellung von Herrn Keuner in Geschichten vom Herrn Keuner von Bertolt Brecht”. Die Probleme in dieser Untersuchung sind welche Texte intertextuell auf die Haltung von Herrn Keuner in der Geschichte vom Herrn Keuner von Bertolt Brecht. Diese Untersuchung hat die Ziele, um die intertextuelle Beziehung zwischen einem Text und einem anderen Text aus zweiunddreiβig Geschichten über die Haltung von Herrn Keuner in der Geschichte vom Herrn Keuner von Bertolt Brecht zu beshreiben.      Die Daten wurden von ein Buch von Bertolt Brecht mit dem Titel “Geschichten vom Herrn Keuner von Bertolt Brecht” bekommen, die von Noviani übersetzt wurde und sein Buch wurde 2000 von PT Balai Pustaka (Persero) veröffentlicht. Als die theoretische Grundlage verwendet, die Schreiberin die Meinungen von Kristeva, um die Daten zu analysieren.      Die Ergebnisse dieser Untersuchung sind das Bestehen von intertextuellen Beziehungen in der Geschichte von Herrn Keuner in Verbindung mit der Haltung von Herrn Keuner in Bezug auf die Sorge um die anderen, der Einschätzung von Herrn Keuner in Bezug auf die eigene Existenz, dem Vertrauen von Herrn Keuner zur Beseitigung der Macht, Herr Keuner war immer freundlich zu allen ohne Unterscheidung und das Urteil von Herrn Keuner über den Charakter einer Person. Alles wird in zweiunddreiβig analysierten Texten dargestellt.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This Skripsi entitled “The Personal Pronouns In English and Tidore Language; A Contrastive Analysis”. The objectives of the research are to identify, analyze and describe personal pronouns in both languages based on the form, function and meaning and then to find out the similarities and dissimilarities according to Lado (1957) and Whitman (1970) concepts. There are two theories used in this research, namely, Bloomfield (1933) and Arts and Arts (1982). The data in English were collected from several linguistic books whereas the data of Tidore languge were collected from informants as primer data and the secunder data were collected from internets. English is a member of Germanic language family that is direct descendant of Indo-European and that consists of fifty-three languages. It is a member of Indo-European languages while Tidore language is the North Halmaheran of West Papuan phylum, classification language family found only in eastern Indonesian (West Papuan and North Halmahera) it is non-Astronesian. The result of this research indicates that personal pronouns in English and Tidore language Consist of first, second and third persons. There are some similarities and differences in both personal pronouns. The similarities of personal pronouns in both languages are in third person and second person. However, forms of second person in Tidore language have varieties. The main difference of both languages can be seen in first person. Tidore language distinguished several forms of personal pronouns based on cultural system such as age, economic abilites, social identity and relationship while English does not. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is entitled “Proses Individuasi Diri dalam Novel Fight Club Karya Chuck Palahniuk”. The objectives of this research are to identify and analyze the depiction of the self individuation process on the novel Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk based on Carl Gustav Jung’s theories.The writer uses prsychological approach, qualitative research and narrative analysis in order to identify how the self individuation process depicted in the novel especially in the main character. The writer uses the theory of characterization by Roberts and Jacobs (1989) as the tools of this research.The result of this research shows that the main character of the novel undergoes the process of individuation and we can see how the characeristics, steps, and the achievement of individuation being depicted through the story and the characterization of the main character.  Keywords: Individuation Process, The true self, Archetypes, Fight Club

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Sejarah Jemaat Gereja Masehi Injili di Minahasa (GMIM) Sion Teling Sentrum Manado Tahun 1966 – 2016 Yesinta Kaawoan, Dra. Sientje Suatan, M.Si, Dra. Fientje Thomas, M.Si. Jurusan Ilmu Sejarah Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Sam Ratulangi Manado   Topik Penelitian ini adalah “Sejarah Jemaat Gereja Masehi Injili di Minahasa (GMIM) Sion Teling Sentrum Manado Tahun 1966 – 2016. Dengan 2 poin dalam penulisan yaitu : 1. Bagaimana Sejarah Jemaat GMIM Sion Teling Sentrum Manado  2. Bagaimana perkembangan Jemaat GMIM Sion Teling Sentrum di manado pada Tahun 1966 – 2010 Dalam penulisan ini penulis menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu : Heuristik, Kritik Analisa, Interpretasi dan yang terakhir Historiografi. Kekristenan secara sistematis diperkenalkan di Minahasa oleh Johann Friedrich Riedel dan Johann Gottlieb Schwars.  Jemaat GMIM Sion Teling Sentrum Resmi menjadi Jemaat mandiri terhitung sejak 1 Januari tahun 1966.
