Abstract

PERKEMBANGAN MASYARAKAT SANGIHE DI KELURAHAN PINTUKOTA KECAMATAN LEMBEH UTARA TAHUN 1982-2015 Yuliani Rudu, Sientje Suatan, Meity J wowor Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Jurusan Ilmu Sejarah Universitas Sam Ratulangi, Manado Email: yulianirudu@yahoo.com          No.Hp. 085256293883 ABSTRAK Penelitian “ Skripsi “ ini Mengacu pada Masyarakat Sangihe yang ada di Kelurahan Pintukota. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui lebih jauh tentang proses perkembangan masyarakat Sangihe di kelurahan Pintukota, dan pola hidup Masyarakat Sangihe baik di bidang ekonomi, pendidikan, sosial budaya, agama, sistem Pemerintahan dan adat istiadat.Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ada faktor-faktor yang mendukung terjadinya persebaran Masyarakat Sangihe antara lain di sebabkan karena terjadinya bencana Alam, kepadatan penduduk, dan mencari lapangan pekerjaan yang baru. Penulisan ini mengambil judul tentang Perkembangan Masyarakat Sangihe di Kelurahan Pintukota Kecamatan Lembeh Utara tahun 1982-2015 Ditinjau Dari Aspek Sejarah. Dalam penulisan ini penulis menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu Heuristik, Kritik analisa, Interpretasi, dan yang terakhir Historiografi. Metode sejarah ini sangat membantupenulis untuk dapat memperoleh data. Kemudian diklasifikasikan data yang mendukung permasalahan diolah dengan penafsiran menggunakan fakta-fakta sejarah, kemudian dilakukan penulisan sesuai permasalahan yang telah dirumuskan dan tujuan yang akan dicapai, sehingga terwujudlah skripsi ini.  Kata Kunci :Perkembagan Masyarakat, Pola Hidup Masyarakat.

Abstract

ABSTRACT            The title of this research is “Friendship in the Film Big Hero 6 by Walt Disney Animation Studios” and it is intended as a requirement to accomplish a degree at the Faculty of Humanities Sam Ratulangi University. The aims of this study are to analyze the friendship aspect and the depiction of friendship reflected in the film Big Hero 6 through the portrayal of the characters named, Hiro, Go Go, Honey Lemon, Fred, Wasabi, dan Baymax. Theories from some experts are being applied in this study, such as theory from Dessai (2010) to unfold the definition of friendship in general and theory from Grieff (2009) to describe the elements of maintaining friendship.  The results show that 1) the characters portray 5 friendship aspects which are solidarity, sacrifice, trust, understanding, and teamwork; (2) the depictions of friendship through some characters that are always there for Hiro; Baymax who gives his life for Hiro, the shape of trust between Hiro and Baymax, Baymax’s sensitivity of understanding the circumstances, and hand in hand to defeat the villain.Keywords: Friendship, Film, Animation, Big Hero 6.

Abstract

Abstraktion Diese Untersuchung behandelt über Die Bildung des Nomens im deutschen Evangelium nach Johannes. Sie hat die Problemme nähmlich welche Nomen, die es im deutschen Evangelium nach Johannes gibt und wie sind die Bildungen des Nomens im deutschen Evangelium nach Johannes. Sie hat das Ziel, Nomen und Nomenswortbildung identifizieren, klassifizieren, und analysieren zu beschreiben. Die Datenquelle wird von deutschen Evangelium nach Johannes genommen. Um dieser Untersuchung zu identifizieren, zu klassifizieren, und zu analysieren benutzt der Untersucher die deskriptiv Methode von Djajasudarma. Untersuchungsergebnisse sind die Bildung des Nomens im Evangelium nach Johannes besteht aus Affixation und Zusammensetzung. Es gibt drei die Bildungen des Nomens durch Affixation, das heiβt Expansion, Derivation und geprägte Wörter. Während die Bildungen des Nomens durch Zusammensetzung durch Zusammenbildung und Komposita erhält werden. Stichwörter : Wort, Nomen, die Bildung, deutschen Evangelium, Johannes.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis skripsi entitled “Romantisisme dalam Novel Peter Pan karya J. M. Barrie”, is focused on Romanticism which is a comprehension or way of rational thinking of a civilization that put forward feeling, emotion, desire, and will. All of those are associated with beauty. The aim of this research is to identify, analyze, and explain the aspects of Romanticism within the novel. In order to achieve those aims, philosophy of romanticism and the literary criticism are coined by Lovejoy and Wellek-Warren. This research used descriptive method and two approaches namely intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. The intrinsic approach is used for analyzing and interpreting the work on romanticism through the plot, character, and setting which are portrayed in Peter Pan. The extrinsic approach is used to analyze the romanticism in Peter Pan and interpret the meaning of its aspects based on the author’s perspective. Moreover, the result of the research shows that the philosophy of romanticism is also included by J. M. Barrie in Peter Pan. The aspects of romanticism found in the novel are Optimist, Paradox, Selfless, Imagination, and Happiness.Keywords: romanticism, philosophy, novel, Peter Pan

Abstract

ABSTRACT   In English, there are 5 types of deixis, those are: person deixis (1st person deixis, 2nd person deixis and 3rd person deixis), place deixis, time deixis, discourse deixis, and social deixis. Deixis itself is a pointing term in language.   This study is an attempt to describe and analyze deixis which is found in the film Cinderella. The aim of this research is to identify and classify the form and the meaning of deixis used in the film. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The data of deixis have been taken from the sentences in the film Cinderella and analyzed using Levinson’s concept. The result of this study shows that deixis is classified into 5 forms, those are: person deixis (1st person deixis: I, my; 2nd person deixis: you, your; and 3rd person deixis: they, her, she, he him), place deixis: inside, away, behind, here, besides, there, here; time deixis: now, two weeks hence; discourse deixis: that, it; and social deixis: madam, miss, mister, Your Royal Highness, Your Majesty, prince.   ---------------------------------------------------------------- Keywords: deixis, , Pragmatic Analysis, Film Cinderella

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research entitled “Color Terms in English and Mongondow Language :  A Contrastive Analysis”  is  an attempt to contrast color terms in both of the languages in terms of meaning, and symbol in order to find out the similarities and differences between English and Mongondow language. In terms of methodology, the writer uses descriptive method and contrastive analysis. The data on color terms were obtained by conducting library research related to color terms. The color term  in English language were obtained through several linguistic books and from several articles about color on internet. The data of Mongondow language collected by interviewing some informants. The data of both languages are analyzed based on  theories of Berlin & Kay, Wardhaugh, and Lado. The resuslt of this research shows that English and Mongondow language have similarities and differences. The similiarities are both of languages have basic color terms, they are black, white, red, yellow, green and brown. Both languages have the same meaning and symbol but are limited to certain colors. The differences are English has many color terms (basic color, color combination and color variation), while Mongondow language has only basic color.  Keywords : Color terms, meaning, symbol, contrastive

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article entitled “Kreasi Kata dalam Bahasa Inggris”. Word creation is a process to produce new words. In communication, people use word to express their feelings and to deliver their ideas. In other words, they need words to communicate with others verbally or non-verbally. Communication is a medium to build a relation among people. People use language to do communication. The data which are sentences containing these words have been selected from articles, dictionaries, newspapers, magazines and other linguistic textbooks which discuss about clipping, blending, back formation, acronyming and coinage. The objective of this research is to identify, analyze and describe the words created through clipping, blending, back formation, acronyming, and coinage in English language. Speakers of English sometimes do not know or realize that some words in the vocabulary are originally formed by clipping, blending, back formation, acronyming and coinage. This study would like to suggest to other researchers to study about the other processes of forming words like conversion, derivation, onomatopoeia, proper names and also other processes. Abstract

ABSTRACT   This research specifically discusses the type and function of speech acts of illocution contained in the speech of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama in Kepulauan Seribu, September 27, 2016. The method used in this research is descriptive method by using the substitution technique and the lesap technique. From the results of this study, the authors found 4 types of acts of ilokusi, namely assertive, directive, expressive, and komisif contained in the speech. The author then analyzes these sentences by using the subterfuge technique and the substitute technique to determine the function of the illocution actions contained therein. The function of the act of illocution that the author finds in assertive speech acts is stated, suggested, and claimed. The function of the directive speech acts the author finds is to advise, order, and order. The expressive act of speech acts that the author finds is to blame. Abstract

ABSTRACT In English there are two subclasses of verbs, those are lexical verb and auxiliary verb. Modals are a class of auxiliary verbs that are combined with the basic form to make verb phrase with a wide meaning. This study is an attempt to describe and analyze the modals in the novel “The Hobbit or There and Back Again” by J.R.R Tolkien. The aim of this research is to identify and classify the form and meanings of modals. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The data of modals have been taken from the sentences in the novel “The Hobbit, or There and Back Again” and analyzed by using Azar’s concept. The result of this study shows that modal forms which are used namely can, could, will, might, must, should, and would, ought to, shall, may, and had better are not found in the novel “The Hobbit or There and Back Again”. Modal form that are mostly used in this novel is “would”. This study can be continually done by analyzing modals in other literary works by using the concept of Azar. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is entitled “Dampak Penggunaan Game Online Terhadap Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris (Ditinjau dari Persepsi Mahasiswa)”. The objectives of this research are to identify and analyze the impacts and learning strategy by using online gaming in learning English based on (Cohen and Chamot’s in Hinkel, 2011) theory. The learning strategies based on the function are metacognition, cognition, affection, social and based on the application are listening, speaking, writing, and reading skills. The writer uses qualitative methods in order to find out students’ perception about the impacts and learning strategies of using online gaming in learning English. The social situation in this research is the students in English Department at the Faculty of Humanities. The writer took 11 students who use online gaming as the data of this research. The instruments of this research are interview and semi-structured question. The results of this research showed that there are some negative and positive impacts of using online gaming in learning English according to students’ perception. Besides, there are also the learning strategies that the students uses for increasing their ability in learning English skills they are metacognition, cognition, affection, and social. This is research supports Cohen and Chamot theory about the learning strategies of using online gaming in learning English.   Keyword: Impact, Learning Strategy, Perception, Online Gaming, Learning English
