Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) To explore what techniques in ABA (applied behavior analysis) therapy given by therapists to children with spectrum disorders at the therapy center of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, (2) To implement the implementation of the ABA (applied behavior analysis) therapy process given by the therapist to spectrum disorder children at the Yogyakarta Special Region therapy center, and (3) To reveal whether or not the ABA (applied behavior analysis) therapy given by the therapist to spectrum disorder children in a therapy center for the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The research method in this article uses qualitative research methods. This type of research uses descriptive analysis. Data collection techniques in this study using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Sources of data in this study using primary data and secondary data. The research subjects consisted of therapists, parents, and children with autism spectrum disorders. The results of this study indicate that: (1) ABA (applied behavior analysis) therapy techniques given by therapists to children with spectrum disorders include: instructions, prompts, and rewards, (2) The implementation of ABA (applied behavior analysis) therapy by the therapist is quite good because in this therapy center there is already an adequate program to support the success of children in their development, (3) ABA (applied behavior analysis) therapy given by therapists to children with autism spectrum disorders is very effective because from this therapy the therapists teach children to follow instructions, respond to the words of others, and imitate.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of E-learning based on LMS for college students with special needs during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is a literature study, where the researcher collects relevant data to support the researcher’s ideas. Based on the literature review results, the use of E-Learning based on LMS Edmodo, Schoology, and Learnboost has the same effectiveness despite having different levels of ease of use. Meanwhile, the most frequently used E-Learning based on LMS at the university level is Moodle. In its utilization, E-learning based on LMS has five standard features. So that these five features can be used optimally by students with special needs during the Covid-19 pandemic, things that need to be considered are: (1) particular guidelines for the use of E-Learning based on LMS are available for college students with special needs; (2) audio is available that can be used by college students with visual impairments, (3) sign language is available as an interface so that college students can access it with hearing impairments, (4) available text on lecturer materials in the form of video or audio so that it can be accessed by college students with hearing impairments, (5) there is a virtual keyboard feature available in E-Learning based on LMS which allows college students with physical and motor disabilities to use the mouse to type or do other activities on the computer, (6) the features available in E-Learning based on LMS are designed to accept voice input.

Abstract

This research aims to gain information from various written sources related to the cooperative learning model of talking chips types in improving the oral language skills of students with visual impairments. This research was conducted using a content analysis-based literature review, involving 25 articles and 12 books. The research data used is in the form of secondary data taken from printed books, a collection of journals, previous researches, and relevant websites. The results of the literature review show: (1) cooperative learning model of talking chips types can improve oral language skills in composing simple sentences of students with visual impairments; (2) there are differences in the oral language skills between students with visual impairments low vision and blind; (3) the use of cooperative learning model of talking chips types becomes an innovation in the learning process of students with visual impairments. The results of this research implied that the cooperative learning model of talking chips types could serve as an alternative to improve the oral language skills of students with visual impairments.

Abstract

This research aims to prove the differences in psychological well-being (PWB) between students with disabilities in special and inclusive schools. This research is using the quantitative comparative method. The subjects are 69 students with disabilities from special schools and inclusive schools in Surabaya. This study focuses on students with disabilities such as deafness, hearing loss, physical disabilities, and other types of disabilities. The PWB level of each student is measured using Ryff’s multidimensional scales. The Mann-Whitney U analysis finds if the PWB level of students with disabilities in inclusive schools is higher than in special schools. The score of each dimension shows that purpose in life is the dimension with the highest average score in inclusive schools. Meanwhile, personal growth is the dimension with the highest average score in special schools. However, autonomy is the dimension with the lowest average score both in special schools and inclusive schools.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find the right parenting program model for early childhood at RA MH School Cirebon. Management in Parenting is important in nurturing and educating children while at home or outside the home. This research was carried out by RA MH Cirebon. In addition, parenting needs to be applied according to children so that children with special needs will be educated, and parents can stimulate the social skills of children with special needs. This research uses qualitative descriptive research, this research was chosen because it wanted to reveal in more detail and clearly about the management of parenting programs for children with special needs in developing social skills so that they can be a reference for parents and teachers who have students with special needs in educating and providing appropriate stimulation. Because the stimulation given to the crew will be different in stages. This research data collection technique is divided into 3 parts, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique of this research is divided into 2, namely data reduction and triangulation.
