Abstract

The basic speaking training community service program which is one of the pillars in Higher Education Institution such as Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau is carried out aimed at providing an overview of the importance of knowledge about English and motivation concerning the mastery of English. This was done to make it easier for trainees to understand how certain expressions and vocabulary can be applied in international activities such as the International Youth Exchange Program, International Internships, Scholarship Interviews and so forth. Based on these objectives, the target to be achieved in this program is to provide knowledge of the participants, to develop the ability to speak English so that they can pass international programs, scholarships and continue their postgraduate degree. To achieve the goals and targets of community service activities, the implementers use lecture, discussion, think pair and share, and problem-based learning methods, so that the trainees can easily understand the material provided. The activities carried out and participated by program participants came from various University and Higher Education graduates in Riau. The training participants were very enthusiastic about participating. This was evidenced by the large number of participants who were active in the discussion and enthusiastic in taking the activities.

Abstract

National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Bandung records that there are 25,000 young people in Bandung who are drug users. Based on the results of interviews with ten prisoners said they often feel bored, stressed, depressed, sad and hopeless. Based on this phenomenon it was necessary to support rehabilitation programs for drug addicts through therapy with a spiritual approach. A spiritual approach is Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) therapy, which is a combination of Spiritual Power and Energy. The results of the activity showed that the participants were able to do self-healing using the SEFT method, which was felt to be effective in helping participants manage emotional and spiritual problems during the prison, evidenced by an increase in the percentage of self-control ability and a positive effect, while anxiety and depression decrease. Participants also experienced an increase in the percentage of positive religious coping. Therefore, prisons are advised to keep monitoring self-healing activities with SEFT which is recommended to be routinely carried out by rehabilitation participants even though the program has finished, because at any time the participants' mental and spiritual health conditions may change. Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis fiksi bagi siswa SMKN 2 Marabahan. Untuk memulai proses menulis fiksi, dapat dimulai dengan menulis cerita pendek. Menulis cerita pendek bisa dilakukan dengan terlebih dahulu memahami tema cerita yang akan dibuat dan memahami strategi menulis. Cerita pendek memiliki panjangnya cerita yang relatif pendek dengan durasi terpendek berkisar sekitar 500 an kata. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa para siswa memiliki ketertarikan dalam bidang menulis fiksi. Selain itu, para siswa mengetahui cara memulai menulis fiksi dengan memahami tema dan strategi menulis fiksi pengetahuan yang penting untuk diketahui.

Abstract

This service aims to improve students' mental and academic abilities in understanding and practicing journalistic issues, especially writing news articles. The method used in this service is in the form of lectures, discussions, questions and answers, simulations of writing news articles, and evaluating. The target in this service is class XI students in MA Darussalam Barambai consisting of only 1 class. The results of this community service show that class XI students in MA Darussalam Barambai get good grades in the simulation of making articles / news manuscripts. 80% have reached the completeness criteria and passed. 20% is still in the realm of space and needs more practice in writing article scripts.

Abstract

The community service undertaken aims to provide training to the teachers of SMPIT Madani Pekanbaru in order to increase the ability of teachers to understand the concept of material provided by presenters from various sources from seminars, workshops, FGDs or other activities, make it easier for teachers to remember the material presented and be more focused and also help teachers in compiling and processing information obtained through interesting notes so that they are easier to recall what they got in the material delivered by the presenters. To achieve the objectives of this community service (PPM) activity, the implementers used the lecture, discussion and practicum methods so that the trainees could easily understand the material provided at the training. The activities carried out were participated by the teachers at SMPIT Madani Pekanbaru. This activity is on target as evidenced by the enthusiasm of the teacher in following the entire process of activities. They are very active in discussing and interacting when given a material concept and instructing them to take notes with various Note-taking Systems. Abstract

Marketing strategy is very important in business processes. This process is the final process of a production. Community service activities are carried out in the rice fields of Ciputat sub-district, South Tangerang, West Java. This activity focuses on empowering orphanage students, especially in the provision of effective marketing methods, it is hoped that pondok students have an interest in entrepreneurship. The number of participants was 26 children. The activity will take place from the beginning of December 2019 until March 2020. The implementation method is used with counseling, mentoring and program evaluation. Achieved results: students can independently market products according to target sale, students know the market share, and can use online marketing.
