Abstract

Sapi Bali merupakan ternak lokal asli Indonesia sangat berpotensi untuk dikembang-biakkan dan sebagai plasma nutfah harus tetap dilestarikan agar tidak tercemar dengan “darah” bangsa sapi lain. Disinyalir performans sapi Bali cenderung menurun disebabkan aplikasi program pemuliaan yang kurang ketat, sehingga mutu genetiknya rendah. Dalam upaya memperbaiki mutu genetik, Pola Peternakan Inti Terbuka (Open Nucleus Breeding) tampaknya sesuai untuk diterapkan dalam pengembangan sapi Bali yang banyak melibatkan peternakan rakyat sebagai populasi dasar dengan dukungan kegiatan seleksi pada berbagai lapisan peternakan dan harus ditunjang dengan rekording performans produksi dan reproduksi secara tertib, benar dan akurat, serta berkesinambungan. Rekording merupakan metode untuk menunjang keberhasilan program perbaikan mutu genetik ternak yang sangat bermanfaat dalam program seleksi berdasarkan performans individu, dan dapat membantu manajemen beternak yang baik. Dari rekording dapat diketahui silsilah ternak sehingga sangat bermanfaat untuk melakukan analisis komponen ragam dan menduga nilai pemuliaan (breeding value) ternak. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengembangkan manajemen rekording bagi pola perbibitan sapi Bali dan perangkat lunak (software) sistem rekording dan pengolahan data. Luaran berupa laporan Kegiatan Model Rekording dan Pengolahan Data Untuk Program Seleksi Sapi Bali; model rekording  sederhana untuk data primer di lapang dan model tabulasi data secara manual; dan perangkat lunak program rekording (sistem rekording data produksi dan reproduksi, rekapitulasi data, faktor koreksi, dan nilai pemuliaan ternak). Kesimpulan adalah perbaikan mutu genetic untuk memperbaiki performans produksi pada keturunan secara bertahap dan kontinyu perlu dilakukan sehingga perlu perencanaan dan implementasi program breeding yang tepat dan berkelanjutan. Diperlukan format recording dan pengolahan data yang sederhana dan standar sehingga mudah diaplikasikan. Program recording di lapangan yaitu recording langsung di lapangan dengan menggunakan lembar isian recording oleh peternak dan komputerisasi data pada petugas atau di pusat pembimbitan, dinas atau instansi terkait. Diperlukan pelatihan mengenai manfaat dan teknik pengisian paket recording baik di tingkat peternak maupun petugas/dinas. Penggunaan perangkat lunak (software) dalam program recording akan sangat membantu dalam pengarsipan, pengolahan dan pencarian data yang diperlukan dalam rangka mendukung program breeding. Kata Kunci : sapi Bali, data, model rekording, program seleksi

Abstract

This research has been conducted in the District Amarasi Kupang district to obtain liquid smoke coconut shell, Bogor Agricultural Institute Laboratory tested compounds benzo[a]pirene.dan total bacteria in meat, an integrated research laboratory distillation liquid smoke Undana perform and get the value of organoleptic and agricultural polytechnic Laboratory Kupang test the chemical quality beef cattle se'i Bali. The research was conducted over 2 months ie April 26 until June 26, 2016. This study aims to determine the content benzo[a]pirene. lowest in liquid smoke coconut shell by doing some distillation processes to be applied to the meat of cattle se'i Bali. The material used is coconut shell as much as 20 kg, 5 kg of fresh beef taken on the part of the muscle. The basic design is used, a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 3 repetitions so obtained 18 experimental units. Data was analyzed using non-parametric analysis of Kruskal Wallis test and analysis methods Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). If there are differences among the treatments then continued by Least Significant Difference (LSD). The results showed: Total Bacteria contained in meat P≤0,05 se'i not significantly different from the treatment of liquid smoke to the meat using traditional se'i P0. 6,6x106 P1. 6,2x106 P2. 5,4x106 P3. 1,7x106 P4. 4,46x103 P5. 3,0x103 while the chemical quality beef cattle se'i P≤0,01 Bali very significant effect of each treatment. conclusion on the research is: the more the percentage of liquid smoke, the number of bacteria in the cow se'i diminishing and the average chemical quality beef cattle se'i Bali will increase.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the potential of forage optimally, the degradation rate of forage nutrients are usually given by the farmers at the time in the intestine of a variety of forage fodder. This study used four kinds of forage feed material: Gliricidia leaves (G), Manilkara leaves (S), Ficus leaves (B) and Cocoa leaves (C). This study was observed in intestinal digestibility. The data taken is nutrient digestibility of rumen and intestinal residues include DM, OM and CP. Samples were incubated in the intestine of cattle that canulation intestine with different time intervals, time/point of incubation: 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 24, 36 and 48 hours. Samples were incubated in livestock that fistulation intestinal samples of rumen residue. The results showed that the digestibility of nutrients DM, OM and CP respectively forage percentage amount of intestinal digestibility value of feedstuffs in the rumen incubation time of 2-48 hours progressively decreased the percentage of nutrient digestibility. The conclusion of the study when it is time to stay forage in the rumen longer then the more nutrients are degraded by rumen microbes that escapes rumen degradation will be more and more and can be digested in the intestine will be less. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics and management of dairy cattlebusiness, analyze the contribution of dairy cattle business to the family income of farmers, analyze therelationship between business income dairy cattle farm and revenue contribution of dairy cattle,analyze the influence of various factors on the level of production the income of farmers. This researchwas conducted in the Ringin larik village, Kebun Gulo and Dragan at District Musuk of BoyolaliRegency in July 2013. The method is Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA). Total of sample of 60 respondents.The data is primary data from interviews of respondents and secondary data obtained from relevantagencies in the district boyolali. Analysis of the data used is descriptive analysis, analysis of revenuedairy farmers, ranchers analysis of household income, revenue contribution analysis of dairy cattleranchers on household income, pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis.The results showed an average responden net income of the business dairy cattle 4 scale isRp. 6,483,050.33 in year. The contribution of business dairy cattle breeders to household income is19,38%. The correlation of value between the scale of the dairy cattle business with revenues andcontribution of dairy cattle income has a positive value is 0,597 and 0,521. Positive values indicatethat larger scale dairy cattle business will increase farmers income and have a strong relationship.The results of the t test on regression analysis, coefficient of t hitung variable labor costs (X3) and thecost of IB (X5) is 2,081 and 2,066 greater or significant t tabel.

Abstract

An experiment was carried out to investigate the efficiency of dietary energy utilisation in. Ongole Grade (OG) and OG x Limousin (OGL) young bulls under intensive feeding regime. This experiment used 4 OG and 4 OGL young bulls (about 6 months old). The initial body weight of OG was 78±4.69 kg, and that of OGL was 91.25±12.62 kg. This experiment used “Independent Sample Comparison” method. Parameters observed were energy intake, energy digestibility, energy metabolisability, live weight gain and energy conversion. The results showed that dry matter (DM) intake of OG PO (26.87 g/ kg BB) was lower (P<0.05) than that of OGL (33.05 g/ kg BB/d); so that energy intake of OG (0.43 MJ/kg BB/d) was also lower (P<0,05) than that of OGL (0.55MJ/kg BB/d).However, were not significant difference (P>0.05) between the two breeds in all other parameters observed. Dietary energy digestibility’s in OG and OGL were 52.60 and 52.20%, respectively. Energy metabolisability’s in OG and OGL were 44.30 and 42.90%, respectively. Live weight gain of were 0.325 and 0.412 kg/d in OG and OGL, respectively Energy conversions in OG and OGL were 46.44 and 55.90 MJ per kilogram live weight gain. It was concluded that OG and OGL young bulls under intensive feeding regime had similar performance in energy utilisation.Key words: Bulls, breed, energy metabolism

Abstract

A research has been done to study the effectiveness of Zorlesco extender and modified Zorlesco extender with soymilk to maintain sperm fertility of landrace boar preserved at 18˚C. Semen was collected twice a week by hand massage from 2 heads of ± 2.5 years old landrace boar. A Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 5 replications was used to organized the experiment. The fresh evaluated semen were extended with zorlesco P(0), zorlesco + hand made soymilk P(1), zorlesco + MetabolisTM soymilk P(2), and zorlesco + MelileaTM soymilk P(3). Extended semen were preserved at 180C. Analysis of variance and Duncan test were used to analyzed data of motility and viability of sperm. The result showed that the modification of diluent Zorlesco added with 5% soymilk could not defend by sperm motility and viability spermatozoa compared with Zorlesco for 42 hours storage (P<0.05).Keyword: Soymilk, modified zorlesco, sperm motility, sperm viability, landrace boar

Abstract

The objective of the research was to comperative the final weight, carcass weight and carcass percentages of some broiler strains and and to know the strain that produced the highest final weight, carcass weight and percetage. The research method was survey with design based on Completely Randomized Design. The three strains of broilers were Hybro, Cobb and Hubbard. At 5 weeks old, the chicken were picked up from broiler farms which had the same management. Each was replicated 9 times. Parameters observed were final and carcass weight and carcass percentage. Collected data were analyzed by analysis of variance. The observed strains had no significant difference on final weight, carcass weight and carcass percetages.

Abstract

The objective was to understand the attributes considered by consumer when deciding to purchase the beef cattle in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. As much as 150 respondents were determined using the Accidental Sampling method. There were 100 respondents of final consumer and 50 respondents of business consumer (30 restaurants respondent and 20 hotels respondent). Consumer satisfaction data was analyzed by IPA (Importance Performance Analysis). The Result of Analysis indicates that four indicators, such as product, price, place/distribution, and promotion, were remaining in the quadrant 2 (high performance and importance). The indicator of product had the highest performance and importance compared to price, place/distribution and promotion. the attributes considered by the beef consumer at Kupang City were: a) attributes of product such as lipid content, aroma, texture, package, cutting tidiness, weight size and meat part; b) attributes of price such as price rate, payment method and price discount; c) attributes of place/distribution such as distance, order timing, supply continuity, sale location and storage method; and d) attributes of promotion such as good relationship and direct marketing.Key words: beef cattle attributes, beef cattle consumers, importance performance analysis

Abstract

This studyaimedtodetermine the extent ofthe influence ofthe number of chickensper litteronthe performanceof laying hensstrain IsaBrown onstarter periodandhow manychickens thatproduce thebestperformance ofbrooderwitha diameter of4meters.The research methodusedexperiment was acompletely randomized design(CRD) with3treatments, namelythe number of chickens500 heads(K1), 750heads(K2), and 1000heads (K3) perbrooderof each treatment was 9 replication. Parameters observed that feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion, water consumption, and mortality. Effect of treatment performed by analysis of variance and if the analysis showed a significant effect followed by Duncan's multiple range test. Increasing the number of chickens per flock artificial influenced of reducing body weight gain and increasing water intake, but had no effect on feed intake, feed conversion, and mortality. Good performance of chickens obtained from the amount of 750 per brooder chicken (K2) was shown with body weight gain approaching recommendation Guide Isa Brown (2005).Keywords: brooder, the performance of laying hens, the starter period

Abstract

The research was conducted to calculate the break even point (BEP) of cattle breeding farm. Research was done from January to May 2007, located in Sleman District. Survey methods was done to collect primary data at the farm level and secondary data from related institution. Purposive sampling was applied to sellect farmers’ respondent. The BEP with calf sales calculation of keeping Simmental, Ongole and Limousine grade cattle were 8, 9 and 7 cows per farmer respectively, which mean that farmers will annually benefited from keeping cattle when the number of cows was larger than those of BEP. Key words : cattle breeding farm, BEP analysis
