Abstract

Pantai Panjang Kota Bengkulu merupakan pantai yang terdapat di bagian barat Pulau Sumatera dan berbatasan langsung dengan Samudera Hindia. Pantai Panjang yang membentang sepanjang 7 km dengan luas 84.09 ha. Pantai panjang telah ditetapkan menjadi salah satu objek ekowisata pantai unggulan pada kawasan wisata alam di Kota Bengkulu. Ekowisata pantai merupakan kegiatan ekowisata yang dilakukan di daerah pantai pada umumnya memanfaatkan sumberdaya pantai dan permukaan air. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesesuaian dan daya dukung ekowisata pantai di Pantai Panjang Kota Bengkulu. Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesesuaian ekowisata pantai untuk kategori rekreasi adalah sangat sesuai, sesuai dan tidak sesuai, sedangkan kesesuaian kawasan ekowisata pantai kategori olahraga dan berjemur terdiri dari sesuai bersyarat dan tidak sesuai.Panjang beach is located in the western part of the island of Sumatra and directly borders with the Indian Ocean. Panjang beach which stretches along 7 km with an area of 84.09 ha. Panjang beach has been designated as one of the leading beach ecotourism objects in the natural tourism area in the city of Bengkulu. Coastal ecotourism is an ecotourism activity carried out in coastal areas in general utilizing coastal and water surface resources. This study aims to analyze the suitability and carrying capacity of coastal ecotourism in the Long Beach of Bengkulu City. The method used in this research was the survey method. Based on the results of the study, the suitability of the beach ecotourism for the recreation category was very appropriate, appropriate and not appropriate, while the suitability of the beach ecotourism area for the sports and sun categories consists of conditional and unsuitable.

Abstract

Kelurahan Hajoran adalah sebuah wilayah yang berada di pesisir laut pantai barat. Banyaknya jenis ikan yang tertangkap dan masih sedikitnya informasi mengenai ikan yang berada di daerah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan data jenis-jenis ikan yang berada di pesisir pantai Kelurahan Hajoran. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan November 2019 sampai bulan Januari 2020, bahan utama pada penelitian ini adalah ikan yang tertangkap menggunakan pancing dan jaring, kemudian di ukur panjang, berat dan karakteristik ikan dan di awetkan. Metode penelitian survei dan deskripsi dengan pengambilan sample secara komposit pada setiap stasiun. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan jenis-jenis ikan yang teridenfikasi pada penelitian ini di daerah pesisir pantai Kelurahan Hajoran berjumlah 247 ekor dari 3 stasiun dan spesies ikan yang dominan tertangkap dengan alat pancing dan jaring adalah yaitu ikan Sariding (Ambassis dussumieri) dari famili Ambassidae, ikan Julung-julung (Hyporhamphus quoyi) dari famili Hemiramphidae dan ikan baronang angin (Siganus javus) dan mendapatkan 25 spesies ikan dari 13 famili yang dominan adalah famili Lutjanidae, sedangkan kualitas air pada perairan tersebut memiliki kualitas yang baik bagi organisme ikan yang hidup di sekitar terumbu karang.Hajoran Village is an area located on the coast of the west coast. Many types of fish are caught and there is still little information about fish in the area. The purpose of this study was to obtain data on the types of fish located on the coast of the village of Hajoran. This research was conducted in November 2019 until January 2020, the main ingredients in this study were fish caught using fishing rods and nets, then measured the length, weight and characteristics of the fish and preserved. Survey research methods and description by taking composite samples at each station. The results of the study found that the types of fish identified in this study in the coastal area of Kelurahan Hajoran were 247 fish from 3 stations and the dominant fish species caught with fishing rods and nets were Sariding fish (Ambassis dussumieri) from the Ambassidae family, Julung-julung (Hyporhamphus quoyi) from the Hemiramphidae family and baronang wind fish (Siganus javus) and get 25 species of fish from 13 dominant families, the Lutjanidae family, while the water skin in these waters has good skin for fish organisms that live near coral reefs.

Abstract

Sebagai salah satu destinasi wisata bahari, pantai Gumumae menjadi lokasi liburan potensial bagi masyarakat Kota Bula dan sekitarnya. Memiliki luas 19.70 ha membantang dari Teluk Sesar sampai Sungai Wailola, turut berkontribusi pada pembentukan struktur dan karakteristik pantai. Dinamika fisik pesisir yang kompleks menjadi tujuan penelitian dilakukan. Harapannya pengelolaan Pantai Gumumae sebagai kawasan wisata bahari dapat dilakukan secara tepat dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan September sampai Oktober 2019, di Pantai Gumumae Kabupaten Seram Bagian Timur Provinsi Maluku. Pengamatan parameter fisik pesisir dilakukan secara insitu dan komparasi data penginderaan jauh, melalui satelit altimetri NASATOPEX/Poseidon, Jason-1/Envisat, dan Jason-2/Envisat tanggal 2 - 17 September 2019. Menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif, spasial dan temporal melalui citra satelit Landsat 8 dan arcgis imagery 2019, untuk mengetahui pengaruh dinamika fisik dalam bentuk peta tematik. Pantai Gumumae merupakan dataran rendah tetapi dikelilingi wilayah perbukitan disekitarnya. Pola curah hujan berfluktuasi dalam setahun, namun terdapat trend peningkatan sejak bulan September sampai November dan berdampak pada aliran sungai, tidak mengherankan transport sedimen yang dialirkan ke pesisir pantai Gumumae melalui muara sungai Wailola berada dalam jumlah yang besar. Termasuk kategori perairan dangkal dengan kedalaman 45 cm sampai 2.5 meter pada jarak >15 meter dari garis pantai ke arah laut. Tinggi gelombang relatif kecil yakni sebesar 0.68 meter – 0.82 meter, namun memiliki arus yang cenderung cepat di muara sungai Wailola. Anomali permukaan laut di pesisir Gumumae mengalami penurunan secara konstan sebesar 3mm sampai 116 mm. Kecepatan arus dan sudut elevasi perairan pantai mengalami fluktuasi sehingga memberi pengaruh pada arah dan kekuatan arus pantai, gelombang kecil, sedimentasi tinggi di muara hingga sebagian kawasan wisata. Perlu perencanaan yang komprehensif untuk pengelolaan wisata pantai Gumumae berdasarkan kesesuaian tata ruang. As one of the marine tourism destinations, Gumumae beach is a potential vacation area for the people of the city of Bula and its surroundings. It has an area of 19.70 ha stretching from the Sesar bay to the Wailola river, contributing to the formation of the structure and characteristics of the coastal. The complex physical dynamics of the coastal is the aim of the study. It is hoped that the management of Gumumae beach as a marine tourism area can be carried out appropriately and sustainably. The study was conducted from September to October 2019, on the coastal of Gumumae, East Seram Regency, Maluku Province. Observation of coastal physical parameters was carried out insitu and compared remote sensing data, via satellite altimetry NASATOPEX / Poseidon, Jason-1 / Envisat, and Jason-2 / Envisat on 2-17 September 2019. Using quantitative descriptive analysis, spatial and temporal through satellite imagery. Landsat 8 and Arcgis Imagery 2019, to determine the effect of the physical dynamics of the Gumumae coastline in the form of thematic maps. Gumumae Beach is a low-lying area but is surrounded by hilly areas around it. Rainfall patterns fluctuate within a year, but there is a trand increase from September to November and have an impact on river flow, it is not surprising that sediment transport flowed to the coastal of Gumumae via the Wailola river mouth is in large numbers. Current velocity and elevation angle of coastal waters fluctuate so that it influences the direction and strength of coastal currents. Included in the category of shallow water with a depth of 45 cm to 2.5 meters at a distance of> 15 meters from the coastline towards the sea. The wave height is relatively small at 0.68 meters - 0.82 meters, but has a current that tends to be fast at the mouth of the Wailola river. Sea level anomalies on the coastal of Gumumae are constantly decreasing by 3mm to 116 mm. Abstract

Perkembangan pembangunan yang pesat di wilayah pesisir akan mempengaruhi perubahan kondisi lahan secara spasial yang secara langsung juga akan berdampak pada kemutakhiran data spasial tematik yang ada. Kawasan pesisir Kalimantan Selatan telah mengalami degradasi ekosistem pesisir khususnya ekosistem mangrove. Hal ini disebabkan banyaknya kegiatan yang dilakukan di daerah ini misalnya pembangunan pelabuhan baik umum maupun khusus, konversi lahan mangrove menjadi budidaya, perkebunan, pertanian, industri, pemukiman dan lain-lain. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk untuk mengetahui tingkat kerapatan mangrove, mengetahui potensi tekanan dan kerusakan mangrove, dan menganalisis tingkat kekritisan lahan mangrove Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan, sehingga dapat memberikan rekomendasi pengelolaannya. Berdasarkan hasil analisis metode penginderaan jarak jauh dan sistem informasi geografis di peroleh tingkat kekritisan mangrove di Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan kategori rusak seluas 8.329,47 ha (12,43%) dan tidak rusak 58.688,10 (87,57%). Secara proporsional, wilayah pesisir yang mengalami kategori rusak adalah Kabupaten Banjar (42%), Barito Kuala (39,23%), Tanah Laut (33,85%), Tanah Bumbu (21,49%) dan Kotabaru (8,64%). Peran pelibatan masyarakat sangat penting mulai perencanaan, perlindungan, pengelolaan dan pemanfaatannya.The rapid development development in coastal areas will affect changes in land conditions spatially which will also directly affect the updating of existing thematic spatial data. The coastal area of South Kalimantan has experienced degradation of the coastal ecosystem, especially the mangrove ecosystem. This is due to the large number of activities carried out in this area, for example the construction of both public and special ports, conversion of mangrove land to cultivation, plantations, agriculture, industry, settlements and others. This research was conducted to determine the level of mangrove density, to determine the potential for pressure and damage to mangroves, and to analyze the criticality level of mangrove land in South Kalimantan Province, so that it can provide recommendations for its management. Based on the results of the analysis of remote sensing methods and geographic information systems, the mangrove criticality level in South Kalimantan Province was categorized as damaged covering 8,329.47 ha (12.43%) and not damaged 58,688.10 (87.57%). Proportionally, the coastal areas that are categorized as damaged are Banjar Regency (42%), Barito Kuala (39.23%), Tanah Laut (33.85%), Tanah Bumbu (21.49%) and Kotabaru (8.64%). The role of community involvement is very important starting from planning, protection, management and utilization.

Abstract

Pantai Bunga merupakan pantai yang menjadi salah satu objek wisata di Kabupaten Batubara yang terdiri dari kawasan lingkungan alami yang cocok untuk pariwisata dan berpeluang dikembangkan sebagai ekowisata bahari. Peningkatan jumlah pengunjung setiap tahun dapat mengurangi kenyamanan wisatawan di tempat-tempat wisata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji kesesuaian dan daya dukung wisata menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan teknik accidental random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan indeks kesesuaian rekreasi pantai 98,5% dan berenang 94,14%, jumlah wisatawan yang dapat ditampung oleh kawasan wisata Pantai Bunga adalah 40 orang per hari untuk kategori rekreasi pantai, dan 43 orang perhari untuk kategori berenang. Jika pengunjung telah mencapai angka-angka ini, kenyamanan dan keberlanjutan pariwisata di Pantai Bunga akan terganggu.Bunga beach is one of the attractions in the Batubara Regency which has consist of natural environment area suitable for tourism and have opportunity to be developed as marine ecotourism. Increasing the number of visitors each year can reduce the comfort of tourists at the tourism attractions. The study aimed to examine suitability and carrying capacity. This research used a descriptive method with an accidental random sampling technique. The results showed the suitability index of beach recreation 98,5% and swimming 94,14%, the number of tourists that can be accommodated by Bunga Beach tourist area is 40 people per day for category recreation, and 43 people per day for category swimming. Therefore, if a visitor has been reached on these figures, the comfort and sustainability of tourism on Bunga Beach will be disrupted.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kelayakan aspek oseanografi pembangunan pelabuhan perikanan pantai di Muara Sungai Jenggalu, Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2017 sampai dengan Aprtil 2018. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survei.  Data primer dikumpulkan dengan metode observasi dan pengukuran langsung di lokasi penelitian. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis  menggunakan metode skoring. Nilai parameter oseanografi yang diukur dan dianalisis yaitu kecepatan arus sungai, rata-rata yaitu 0,28 m/detik, kecepatan arus laut 0,33m/detik, pasang surut 0,44 meter, tinggi gelombang 1,29 meter dan kedalaman 25–500 cm. Berdasarkan nilai skoring semua parameter oseanografi, yaitu 82,2% yang berarti mendukung kelayakan untuk pembangunan pelabuhan perikanan pantai di Muara Sungai Jenggalu Kota Bengkulu.This study aims to analyze the feasibility of oceanography aspect of the Coastal Fishing Port development in the Jenggalu River Mouth, Bengkulu City. This research was conducted from December 2017 to Aprtil 2018. This research was conducted using a survey method. Primary data were collected by direct observation and measurement methods at the research location. The data of research result were analyzed using the scoring method. Oceanographic parameter values measured and analyzed were river flow velocity, average 0.28 m / sec, ocean current velocity 0.33 m / s, tides 0.44 m, wave height 1.29 m and depth 25–500 cm. Based on the scoring value of all oceanographic parameters, namely 82.2%, which means that it supports the feasibility of developing a coastal fishing port in the Jenggalu River Mouth, Bengkulu City.

Abstract

Sumber daya hiu menghadapi potensi ancaman keberlanjutan. Kegiatan usaha perikanan hiu memiliki kompleksitas permasalahan yang tinggi baik dari sistem sosial maupun sumber daya hiu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan sumber daya hiu di Tanjung Luar, Kabupaten Lombok Timur, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan November 2019, melalui wawancara mendalam (in-depth interview) dengan beberapa informan kunci dan observasi langsung.  Pendekatan SES digunakan untuk melihat pemanfaatan hiu di lokasi penelitian. Hasil penelitian tercatat 14 jenis hiu didaratkan di Tanjung luar yang berasal dari dalam maupun luar perairan Pulau Lombok. Pengguna Sumber Daya (PSD) terdiri atas pelaku primer, pelaku sekunder, pelaku tersier dan pelaku lainnya. PSD juga berperan sebagai Penyedia Infrastruktur (PI). Di tingkat nasional, regulasi yang membatasi perdagangan hiu telah ada, namun penegakan peraturan masih harus terus ditingkatkan.Shark resources face potential threats to sustainability. Shark fisheries business activities have a high complexity of problems both from the social system and shark resources. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of shark resources in Tanjung Luar, East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. Data were collected in November 2019, through in-depth interviews with several key informants and direct observation. The SES approach is used to look at the use of sharks in the research location. The results of the study recorded 14 species of sharks landed in Tanjung Luar that originate from inside and outside the waters of Lombok Island. Resource Users (PSD) consist of primary actors, secondary actors, tertiary actors and other actors. PSD also acts as an Infrastructure Provider (PI). At the national level, regulations restricting the shark trade exist, but enforcement remains to be seen.

Abstract

Perikanan bawal memiliki nilai ekonomis penting yang menjadi target utama nelayan Drift-Gillnet di Paloh, Kalimantan Barat. Salah Satu aspek dasar dalam pengelolaan sumberdaya ikan melalui aspek biologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi distribusi ukuran, analisa hubungan panjang-berat dan faktor kondisi ikan bawal, serta menghitung laju tangkap drift-gillnet. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan September dan Oktober tahun 2015 dengan mengikuti operasi penangkapan drift-gillnet. Hasil tangkapan bawal sebanyak 450 ekor yang terdiri dari 315 ekor (78%) Pampus chinesis, 30 ekor (6,67%) Pampus argenteus, dan 69 ekor (15,33%) Parastromateus niger, dengan diukur panjang total (mm) dan berat (gr) untuk dilakukan analisa lebih lanjut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, Pampus chinensis tertangkap paling banyak pada bulan Oktober dengan ukuran didominasi diatas Length First Maturity (Lm). Pampus argenteus dan Parastromateus niger paling banyak tertangkap pada bulan September dimana didominiasi ukuran dibawah Lm pada Pampus argenteus dan diatas Lm pada Parastromateus niger. Pampus chinensis memiliki pola pertumbuhan allometric positive, serta Pampus argenteus dan Parastromateus niger adalah allometric negative. Nilai faktor kondisi relatif (Kn), menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pada bulan Oktober dengan nilai diatas satu pada Pampus chinensis, sedangkan pada Pampus argenteus cenderung lebih stabil, dan Paratromateus niger mengalami penurunan pada bulan Oktober. Adapun nilai CPUE (rerata ekor ± SE /E (km x 12 jam) drift-gillnet, terhadap Pampus chinensis memiliki nilai tertinggi pada bulan Oktober sebesar 13,90 ± 4,42 (SE), sedangkan pada Pampus argenteus (0,80 ± 0,38 (SE) dan Parastromateus niger (2,83 ± 0,53 (SE) dimana tertinggi pada bulan September. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dominansi ukuran, pola pertumbuhan, dan nilai laju tangkap Pampus chinensis dibanding Pampus argenteus dan Parastromateus niger yang diduga sedang dalam masa pemijahan (spawning season).Pomfret fishey is an economically important fish in Indonesia which the main target of drift-gillnet fisherman in Paloh, West Borneo. Biological aspect is one of to management of fish resources. This research aims to identify of size distribution, length-weight relationship and the condition factor analysis of pomfret fish, and calculate Catch per Unit Effort in two months of fish captured. Data collection was conducted in September and October 2015 with observed of Drift Gillnet operating activity. In total 450 Pomfret Fish, consisting of 315 (78%) Pampus chinesis, 30 (6,67%) Pampus argenteus and 69 (15,33%) Parastromateus niger, were measured by total length (mm) and weight (gr) for analyzed. The result show that Pampus chinensis most captured in October with a dominate above Length First Maturity (Lm). Pampus argenteus and Parastromateus niger were most captured in September, where below size Lm in Pampus argenteus and above size Lm in Parastromateus niger. Pampus chinensis has a positive allometric growth pattern, while Pampus argenteus and Parastromateus niger are negative allometrics growth pattern. The relatif condition factor (Kn), indicates an increase that occurred in October with a value above one in Pampus chinensis, while Pampus argenteus tends to be stable, and the Parastromateus niger has decreased in October. The CPUE value (mean fish ± SE / E (km x 12 hours) of drift-gillnet, against Pampus chinensis had the highest value in October, while in Pampus argenteus and Parastromateus niger the highest in September. This dominance size announces, growth pattern, and CPUE of Pampus chinensis compared to Pampus argenteus and Parastromateus niger, indicating is in the spawning season.

Abstract

Kabupaten Bengkulu Utara merupakan satu dari 7 kabupaten/kota  di Provinsi Bengkulu yang terletak di Pantai Barat Pulau Sumatera. Wilayah pesisir Kabupaten Bengkulu Utara berada pada garis pantai sepanjang ± 115,9 km. Perubahan iklim yang mendorong naiknya permukaan air laut, bencana alam dan aktivitas manusia memberi dampak kerusakan terhadap kondisi wilayah pesisir yang semakin cepat dan kritis. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengidentifikasi kerusakan wilayah pesisir berdasarkan analisis kerentanan di Kabupaten Bengkulu Utara, Provinsi Bengkulu. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survei. Kegiatan penelitian yang meliputi observasi lapang,  wawancara, pengolahan dan analisis data, serta  verifikasi hasil penelitian, dilakukan selama 15 hari. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Kerusakan wilayah pesisir yang diukur dari indeks kerentanan, dihitung menggunakan Rumus IKP (Indeks Kerentanan Pantai). Sepanjang wilayah pesisir Kabupaten Bengkulu Utara, terdapat 22 lokasi yang sudah menunjukkan gejala kerusakan dan dan sudah mengalami kerusakan. Serangai merupakan lokasi dengan IKP tertinggi (wilayah merah), yaitu 67,1 dan 75,0. Ada 8 lokasi yang IKP rendah, 11 lokasi IKP sedang, dan  3 lokasi IKP tinggi. Secara umum, kondisi wilayah pesisir Kabupaten Bengkulu Utara sudah mengalami kerusakan. Penyebab kerusakan adalah degradasi hutan pantai, abrasi dan longsor, pertambangan-Galian C, alih fungsi hutan pantai, pemukiman, kerusakan muara sungai, pendulang emas tradisional, galian tanah untuk industri batu bata, pertambakan, sedimentasi/akresi, intrusi air laut, dan alur pelabuhan.North Bengkulu Regency is one of 7 regencies / cities in Bengkulu Province which is located on the West Coast of Sumatra Island. The coastal area of North Bengkulu Regency is located on the coastline along ± 115.9 km. Climate change, which has led to rising sea levels, natural disasters and human activities, has had an increasingly rapid and critical impact on coastal conditions. The research objective was to identify damage of coastal areas based on a vulnerability analysis in North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province. This research was conducted using a survey method. Research activities which include field observations, interviews, data processing and analysis, and verification of research results, were carried out for 15 days. Data analysis was carried out descriptively. Damage of coastal areas measured from the vulnerability index is calculated using the CVI formula (Coastal Vulnerability Index). Along the coastal area of North Bengkulu Regency, there are 22 locations that have shown signs of damage and have already suffered damage. Serangai is the location with the highest CVI (red area), namely 67.1 and 75.0. There are 8 locations with low CVI, 11 locations with medium CVI, and 3 location with high CVI. In general, the condition of the coastal area of North Bengkulu Regency has been damaged. The causes of damage are degradation of coastal forests, abrasion and landslides, mining-C excavation, conversion of coastal forests, settlements, damage to river estuaries, traditional gold panning, excavation for the brick industry, aquaculture, sedimentation / accretion, sea water intrusion, and channels port.

Abstract

Ikan kembung perempuan (Rastrelliger brachysoma) termasuk ikan bernilai ekonomis penting di Kabupaten Tapanuli Tengah, sehingga menjadi salah satu target tangkapan nelayan. Peneltian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui indikasi terjadinya tekanan eksploitasi dan overfishing dalam pemanfaatan sumberdaya ikan kembung perempuan. Metode yang diterapkan pada penelitian ini adalah metode observasi. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif, korelasi dan regresi. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa kelas interval minimum dan maksimum ukuran panjang dan berat ikan, koefisian korelasi, koefisien determinasi, nilai slope dan status pertumbuhan dari hubungan panjang dan beratikan secara berturut-turut yaitu, November 2019 (15,00 – 18,99 cm, 40,00 – 84,64 gram, r = 0,53, R = 0,28, b = 1,3378, allometrik negatif),Desember 2019 (16,00 – 21,99 cm, 40,00 – 118,87 gram, r = 0,94, R = 0,88, b = 3,1975, allometrik positif),Januari 2020 (16,00 – 19,00 cm, 51,41–96,05 gram, r = 0,81, R = 0,66, b = 2,259, allometrik negatif). Sumberdaya ikan kembung perempuan pada November 2020 diduga telah mengalami tekanan eksploitasi dan terindikasi overfishing. Pada Desember 2019 diduga tidak mengalami tekanan ekslpoitasi dan tidak terindikasi terjadi overfishing. Pada Januari 2020 diduga mulai kembali mengalami tekanan eksploitasi dan terindikasi mulai mengarah kepada overfishing. Pemanfaatan sumberdaya ikan kembung perempuan memerlukan perhatian khusus dalam pengelolaannya oleh segenap stakeholder terkait agar keberadaan ikan kembung perempuan tetap lestari.Short mackerel (Rastrelliger brachysoma) is an important economic value fish in Central Tapanuli Regency, so it is one of the most catch targets by fishermen. This research aims to find indications of exploitation and overfishing pressure of utilization on short mackerel resources. The method of research is observation method. The data are  analyzed by descriptive statistics, correlation and regression. the results of show that the minimum and maximum interval classes of length and weight of fishes, correlation coefficient, coefficient of determination, slope value and growth status are, respectively November 2019 (15.00-18.99 cm, 40.00-84.64 grams, r = 0.53, R = 0.28, b = 1.3378, negative allometric), December 2019 (16.00-21.99 cm, 40.00-118.87 grams, r = 0.94, R = 0.88, b = 3.1975, positive allometric), January 2020 (16.00-19.00 cm, 51.4-96.05 grams, r = 0.81 , R = 0.66, b = 2.259, negative allometric). Short mackerel resources in November 2020 are thought to have run into exploitation pressure and indicated overfishing. In December 2019 is suspected that they didn’t run into exploitation pressure and overfishing. In January 2020 is suspected that the exploitation pressure has begun to return and indicated lead to overfishing. Utilization of short mackerel resources requires particular attention in the management by every relevant stakeholder so the existence of short mackerel remains sustainable.
