Abstract

Climate change is currently an important topic to talk about. Member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation are one of the regions of the country that are vulnerable to climate change due to high exposure and low adaptive capacity. This study aims to determine the effect of renewable energy, carbon emissions, and FDI on economic growth for two groups of low-income and middle-income OIC countries. Data is obtained from the World Development Indicators for the period 2000-2015. This study uses panel data analysis techniques. The result show that simultaneously renewable energy, carbon emissions and FDI have a significant effect on economic growth for both group. Partially for both group, the empirical study found that renewable energy had a significant negative effect on economic growth. Carbon emissions have a significant positive effect on economic growth, while FDI only has a significant effect for the middle-income group of OIC countries. This finding can be a suggestion for the OIC to continue encouraging the energy transition while taking into account the economic conditions of these countries.

Abstract

The problem of poverty is still an important part of macroeconomic discussions. Indicators of the welfare of a country can be measured, one of which is by the variable poverty. The increase or decrease in poverty in Indonesia is an achievement in the world of economic development. Some assumptions suggest that this level of poverty cannot be eliminated as a whole. This study will answer the effect of ZIS, Inflation, and Gini Ratio fund disbursements on the Depth of Poverty in the last decade. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach by using secondary data each semester derived from the publications of Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), Bank Indonesia (BI), and Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS). The purpose of this study is to provide empirical evidence related to the Effect of ZIS Fund Disbursement, Inflation, and Gini Ratio on Poverty Depth Level. This study used a multiple linear regression analysis method. The results showed that ZIS and Inflation Fund Disbursements did not have a significant effect on the Poverty Depth Level. Meanwhile, the Gini ratio variable has a significant effect on the depth of poverty.

Abstract

The Islamic capital market industry in Indonesia is experiencing relatively significant growth. However, in comparison to its conventional counterpart, the development of the Islamic capital market in Indonesia is considerably low. The Z-generation is a great potential that is expected to contribute to the improvement of the Islamic capital market. This study aims to examine factors influencing the intention of the younger generation in investing in the Islamic capital market by analyzing and assessing the influence of financial behavior, investment attitudes, subjective norms, perceptions of behavioral control and religiosity factors on intention to invest in the Islamic capital market. This study employs a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis using t-test and f-test. The results show that investment attitudes and subjective norms affect investment willingness of the youth in the Islamic capital market, which means individual beliefs based on self-assessment and those obtained from people around the individual contribute to the intention of the youth to invest in the Islamic capital market. Interestingly, financial behavior, perceived behavioral control, and religiosity have no effect on the younger generation's investment interest in the Islamic capital market.

Abstract

Micro-enterprises contribute greatly to the economy and regional development. However, the development of its business scale faces a number of problems, including not being managed with modern management, low quality of human resources (HR), and limited ability to manage finances and access to capital. This study aims to determine the level of understanding of micro-businesses assisted by Lazismu Banyumas towards Islamic financial institutions (LKS) and Islamic financing products. His understanding will have an impact on access, management, and his ability to increase the scale of his production so that he can become an independent and muzakki business. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach in which 10 respondents were selected based on an agreement with Lazismu Banyumas. The result of the research is that micro-enterprises still need additional capital and assistance to develop their businesses. Their understanding of Islamic financial institutions is minimal so they cannot access Islamic bank products, but some others deliberately refuse Islamic bank financing because they are considered the same as Islamic banks and are afraid of not being able to return it.

Abstract

There is no doubt that the developing and well-known economic system today is a capitalist and socialist economic system. The basic concepts in the capitalist economy are the freedom of property rights for each individual, economic freedom and free competition. Likewise with the basic principles of socialist economy, namely the absence of private property rights, the existence of economic equality and political discipline, namely the state is under labor regulations. In Islam, the life of the world is always closely related to the concept of the hereafter. Meanwhile, capitalism and socialism separate morality from theology. By using descriptive analytical method, this research produces several conclusions; First, the economic problems that have occurred cannot be separated from the thoughts that arise on the state of society at that time with the frequent developments of the times and thoughts. Second, capitalism and socialism emerged as new ideological guidelines that emerged from colonial circles due to the lust for the situation that occurred so as to give rise to complete control on the part of the individual and to the exclusion of morals and religion. Third, Al-Faruqi’s thoughts on the concept of monotheism can provide a solution to the lack of scientific values that also affect people's mindsets. So from the results of the study it can be concluded that if a science is successful it will destroy all aspects of life both in terms of ideology or morals.
