Abstract

Kambang Iwak Park is one of the green open space parks in the city of Palembang. The park is used for a variety of activities, as playgrounds and sports venues, recreation areas, transitional and waiting places, social communication venues and connecting places. Taman Kambang Iwak ideally can meet the comfort needs of users. Comfort is a basic need that is felt physically and non-physically. Comfort is formed if humans try to condition the environment. The thermal conditions of Kambang Iwak Park affect the comfort of people who are active in their surroundings. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of thermal comfort in the Palembang Iwak Park. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method and uses a Hobo  Meter  thermal  measuring  instrument  accompanied  by  the  calculation  formula  of  the Thermal Comfort Index. The results showed that the level of thermal comfort in Taman Kambang Iwak Palembang was in the uncomfortable range. These findings should be taken into consideration for the Palembang City government to make improvements.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to find and formulate new research opportunities for street vendors (PKL). Street vendors have become an integral part of urban space and life in Indonesia and various cities in the world. Many types of research have been done on street vendors and spread in scientific journal articles. The object of this research is a scientific journal article that contains street vending research themes in Indonesia and abroad. The method used is the search and mapping of research themes about street vendors purposively, gathering information in scientific journal articles, and systematizing to obtain key ideas in formulating a map of PKL research opportunities. As a result, there are many opportunities in the form of themes and research focus on street vendors found, especially related to the interests of public space. Opportunities for the theme of street vendors research related to key ideas of food and non-food street vendors, migrant street vendors, night and  day  street  vendors, permanent street  vendors, and  specifically focused on  targets regarding characteristics, transformation, and attachment of places among street vendors.

Abstract

This paper aims to reveal the existence of Islamic and Javanese elements in the spatial structure and form of the Sumur Gumuling Design in Tamansari, Yogyakarta. The Sumur Gumuling in Tamansari Yogyakarta, all this time, is known as a mosque facility for the Sultan of Yogyakarta, located within Tamansari, which functions as a recreation area and fortress. The unique design of Sumur Gumuling is that there is a well in the middle and surrounded by circular buildings. The question is how the existence of Islamic and Javanese elements in the design of the Sumur Gumuling. Qualitative and interpretive-based research is supported by methods of field observation and literature study as well as interviews with local resource persons. The result found the existence of spiritual elements and Islamic architecture mixed with the spiritual elements of Kejawen in the Sumur Gumuling Design in Tamansari, Yogyakarta. The mixing of spiritual elements of Islam and Kejawen in the Sumur Gumuling design shows the concept of Architectural Acculturation that underlies the design.

Abstract

Earth is an ecological habitat for human and another living creature which consist of the natural environment and artificial environment. The Architect has shared a significant contribution to an environmental issue.  Therefore, the new design concept of architecture and a new environment should consider in protecting the environment and try to minimize the effect of the environment as much as possible. Few ideas emerge in this situation, such as sustainable architecture, green building, ecological architecture, biophilic architecture, and bioclimate architecture. The aim of this article is trying to explain how the application of principal from bioclimatic architecture and the relation with the application to the chosen environment also fulfill user requirements and archive thermal comfort, visual comfort, acoustic comfort, and psychological comfort from its user.

Abstract

Blok M Plaza Mall in the middle of Blok M in South Jakarta, surrounded by various modes of transportation, Blok M Terminal, and Blok M MRT Station, make Blok M Plaza mall as a mall characterized by TOD (Transite oriented development) building. Related to a very strategic location, the Blok M Plaza mall became a mall in Jakarta with a busy number of visitors. The crowd at Blok M Plaza mall was interesting to be investigated to find out the effectiveness of emergency evacuation facilities and routes inside the Blok M Plaza mall. This research was conducted on several main mall floors, namely lower ground, upper ground, 1st floor, 2-5th floor, and 6th floor. The method used uses quantitative methods and refers to evaluative methods. Data collection using observations and questionnaires. Data are juxtaposed to get the results of a comparison between observational data  with  questionnaire  data  about  visitors'  perceptions  about  the  path  and emergency evacuation facilities. The results, it was concluded: of the nine aspects used as the object of observation, 53% were effective more than the standard, and 33% were effective according to the reference standard for the effectiveness of the path and emergency evacuation facilities.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal patterns of stimulation and adaptation in coffee shops in Yogyakarta. The concept of stimulation and adaptation is a concept that moves humans to organize themselves in space, so that the use of space is maximized and of high quality. A coffee shop is one of the public facilities that is growing and in demand by young people in the city of Yogyakarta. The interior and exterior design of the coffee shop influences visitors in using the space. Each design element becomes a stimulus that plays a role in the adaptation process of visitors. Thus, the concept of stimulus and adaptation occurring in coffee shops is important to disclose as input for the design of public facilities. The research used qualitative research methods, namely behavioral observation and literature study. The study compared two coffee shops to find patterns of stimulus and adaptation in coffee shops as a youth public facility. The literature review method is used to find standard areas for socializing and learning. The results found that stimulation and adaptation in two coffee shops in Yogyakarta occurred in the interior and exterior spaces. The seating layout is an important stimulus and is supported by other design elements.

Abstract

Abstraksi: Karbon adalah salah satu penyumbang Gas Rumah Kaca (GHG/Green-house Gases) yang signifikan. Peningkatan jumlah karbon di udara menyebabkan peningkatan suhu global dan perubahan iklim yang terjadi. Industri adalah salah satu penyumbang emisi karbon terbesar, termasuk di dalamnya industri perumahan yang menghasilkan emisi karbon yang besar mulai dari tahapan pra-konstruksi, konstruksi hingga pasca-konstruksi. Rumah tipe-45 merupakan tipikal rumah cukup diminati di Kota Palangka Raya. Lahan gambut merupakan salah satu penyimpan karbon terbesar di dunia . Kebutuhan perumahan di Kota Palangka Raya sebagian besar mengalihfungsikan lahan gambut menjadi permukiman. Proses pengeringan lahan gambut melepaskan karbon dalam jumlah besar ke atmosfer. Penelusuran literatur, pengamatan lapangan dan analisis perhitungan pada subyek tunggal dilakukan dalam penelitian ini. Dalam penelitian ini didapatkan hasil bahwa emisi karbon selama proses pra konstruksi sebesar 13,33 kgCO2 atau sebesar 0,05 %, emisi konversi lahan gambut sebesar 1.182,50 kgCO2 atau sebesar 2,54% emisi karbon selama tahapan konstruksi adalah 22.179,01 kgCO2 atau sebesar 92,24 %, dan emisi karbon dalam tahapan pasca-konstruksi adalah sebesar 2413,47 kgCO2 atau sebesar 5,19 %. Setelah penggunaan bangunan selama 25 tahun, terjadi perubahan proporsi emisi karbon secara signifikan pada tahapan konstruksi (menjadi 41,08%) dan pasca konstruksi (menjadi 57,78%).Kata kunci: jejak karbon, emisi karbon, rumah tipe 45, konversi lahan gambut, perubahan iklimTitle: Analysis of Carbon Emissions for Type-45 Houses in Palangkaraya City with Single-Subject ExperimentalAbstract: Carbon is a significant contributor to Greenhouse Gases (GHG). The increase of carbon concentration in the air causes an increase in global temperature and promoting climate change. The industry is one of the most significant contributors to carbon emissions, including the housing industry, which produces significant carbon emissions from pre-construction to post-construction stages. The type-45 house is a typical house that is quite popular in Palangka Raya City. Peatlands are one of the largest carbon stores in the world. Most of the housing needs in Palangka Raya City have converted peatlands into settlements. The process of draining peatlands releases large amounts of carbon into the atmosphere. Literature search, field observation, and calculation analysis on a single subject were carried out in this study. In this study, the results showed that carbon emissions during the pre-construction process were 13.33 kgCO2 or 0.05%, peatland conversion emissions were 1,182.50 kgCO2 or 2.54% carbon emissions during the construction stage were 22,179.01 kgCO2 or amounted to 92.24%, and carbon emissions in the post-construction stage amounted to 2413.47 kgCO2 or 5.19%. After using the building for 25 years, there was a significant change in the proportion of carbon emissions at the construction stage (to 41.08%) and post-construction (to 57.78%).Keywords: carbon footprint, carbon emission, type-45 house, peatland conversion, climate change

Abstract

Abstrak: Ruang publik merupakan wadah yang dapat memenuhi aktivitas penggunanya berinteraksi. Ruang publik pada koridor Urip Sumoharjo saat ini tidak seperti seharusnya. Koridor ini memiliki fungsi sangat kompleks dan tercampur aktivitas ekonomi, sehingga membatasi pergerakan dan visibilitasnya. Konsep Livability Space dianggap dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan dengan konsep ruang bersama ramah dan layak dalam sisi activity, accessibility, security dan environmental quality. Penelitian ini dapat menjadi arahan desain konfigurasi setting fisik jalan Koridor Komersial terhadap pejalan kaki dengan pendekatan Livability Space. The public space in the Urip Sumoharjo corridor is not what it should be. This corridor has a very complex function and is mixed with economic activities, limiting its movement and visibility. The concept of Livability Space is considered to solve problems with the concept of a friendly and appropriate shared space in terms of activity, accessibility, security, and environmental quality. This research can be a design direction for the physical setting configuration of Commercial Corridor roads for pedestrians using the Livability Space approach. Abstract

Surakarta is known as a cultural city that has cultural diversity that must be developed and preserved based on the human resources that are fostered in the arts community. The design of the Performing Arts Center in the Sriwedari area is intended to provide a means of creation, interaction and collaboration between art communities in Surakarta. This paper is structured as a narrative about architectural design that has been carried out, starting with a literature review,formulating design strategies, and implementing them in architectural design. There are several concepts offered, which are 1) the application of traditional Javanese architecture in the use of building geometry and zoning arrangements based on zoning in the Joglo house, 2) the creation of interaction spaces between artists with spatial planning, circulation, and also buildings. envelopes,3) designing spaces with semi-open concepts, open layout and being able to give the openness impression, 4) circulation systems with the concept of free circulation, and 5) building envelopes with semi-open concepts without clearly dividing between inside and outside spaces. Through design, traditional Javanese architecture can be revived to answer the needs of an artist's interaction and collaboration space.

Abstract

Abstrak:Konsep arsitektur hibrid merupakan salah satu bentuk dari arsitektur kontemporer, yang merupakan penggabungan antar dua atau lebih teori fungsi dan bentuk yang berbeda menjadi fungsi dan bentuk yang baru. Arsitektur hibrid memiliki metode yang berbeda diantara nya persilangan, pencampuran dan penggabungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui metode arsitektur hibrid dengan konsep tradisional dan futuristik pada bangunan pendidikan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, yaitu dengan mengamati fenomena secara lebih rinci tentang suatu keadaan. Penelitian ini akan menganlisi metode arsitektur hibrid pada studi kasus gedung rektorat universitas Muhamadiyah Surakarta. This study aims to determine the hybrid architectural method with traditional and futuristic concepts in educational buildings. The method used is descriptive qualitative, by observing the phenomenon in more detail about a situation. This study will analyze the hybrid architectural method in the Muhammadiyah rectorate building, Surakarta.
