Abstract

ABSTRACT   The research was conducted in the village of Mapanget, Mapanget West District of Manado City for five months from February to June 2015. This study used a factorial design in a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors was garlic ekstrak and tobacco and repeated for three times. The result showed that each kind of  extracts garlic, tobacco and the combination of the two (synergistic) have the potential as the bioinsecticides against leaf aphids (Myzus persicae Sulz.). For a single factor, the average percentage of the highest mortality of each extracts was garlic extract on concentration?s treatment 60% with 72,33% of death rate, tobacco extract on concentration?s treatment 60% with 76,33% of death rate of leaf aphids. As for the combination between garlic extract and tobacco extract, from 25 combinations that have been applied, there are 13 concentrations which effective to known as a bioinsecticide that have capability to caused mortality above 50% with the highest mortality percentage on 60%:60%  treatment which had 91,7% average of death rate. Abstract

ABSTRACT This article is to present the adaptation capacity of Dalugha (giant taro, Cyrtosperma merkusii) indicated by chlorophyll contents at a number of places in Laine Village, Sangihe Island.  The study is related to the development of Dalugha as an alternative food plant and its adaptation to the inundated brackish water as a result of raising sea water surface on climate change.  The aim of the study is to analyze the differences in chlorophyll contents of inundated and non inundated brackish water conditions in a tree shaded and non shaded conditions.  The method is observational where plant responses are observed at the variation created by natural caused.  The result showed cthat Dalugha chlorophyll content was influenced by tree shading but it is not influenced by inundation of brackish water. Abstract

ABSTRACT   Effectivity of babadotan extract (Ageratum conyzoides L.) to mortality larval of Spodoptera litura F. had been conducted at the Laboratory of Wood Chemistry, Faculty of Forestry and the Laboratory of Biology Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education University of Samarinda Mulawarman from June to  October 2010. The study aimed to determine the effectivity of the babadotan extract to mortality of larval S. litura (instarIV). Research activities were the preliminary test and advanced test. Preliminary test was  the concentration of six treatments namely 0%, 0.001%, 0.01%, 0.1%, 1% and 10%, while the advanced test consisted of four treatments viz the concentration of 0%, 5%, 10% and 20%. The result showed that the concentration of 10% resulted death rate by 60% of test larvae in preliminary trials. Whereas, the treatment of advanced test with a concentration of 20% revealed that the death rate was 100% with the periode of mortality 26-60 minutes. Abstract

ABSTRACT Research has been implemented as of July 2012, in the  BPSB Laboratory  of North Sulawesi Province i.e.: 1) to test the seed lacking in vigour during the Random Complete Design with three treatments of the various harvest ages, i.e. U1 (90 dasy), U2 (100 days) and U3 (110 days) treatments repeated four times; 2) in the greenhouse to see the amount of the normal, sprouts abnormal, seeds, hard seed and dead, shoot root ratio by using the Random Completed Design with two factors, respectively are : factorial in complete factors of the first different age harvest U1 (90 days), U2 (100 days) and U3 (110 days), the second factor granting of the water with different capacity P1 (3600 ml), P2 (2700 ml), P3 (1800 ml) and P4 (900 ml). Data analysis were found by the various analysis, however if there are different results, it would continue on the Smallest Significant Test. The results showed that, Electric Power Conductivity (EPC) affected by the age of harvest seed corn. The highest EPC at the harvest ages of 90 days and the lowest at 100 days and 110 days. It would be shown that the great value of EPC, the smallest amount of germination. There is no interaction between the age of abnormal seeds, hard seed die, shoot root ratio and high sprouts, but single factor treatment of harvest age and media planting humidity were significantly effected toward sprout normal, abnormal seed, hard seed die, shoot root ratio and high sprouts. Keywords : corn seed, harvest ages, humidity ABSTRAK   Penelitian dilaksanakan sejak bulan Juli 2012, penelitian pertama di Laboratorium Balai Penelitian dan Sertifikasi Benih (BPSB) Provinsi Sulawesi Utara, untuk menguji vigor benih menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan tiga perlakuan umur panen yang berbeda: U1 (90 Hari), U2 (100 Hari) dan U3 (110 hari) perlakuan diulang empat kali. Penelitian kedua di Rumah Kaca untuk melihat jumlah kecambah normal, abnormal, benih keras,benih mati dan nisbah pupus akar  menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap disusun secara faktorial  dengan  2 faktor  masing-masing adalah : faktor pertama : Umur Panen yang berbeda, U1 (90 Hari), U2 (100 Hari) dan U3 (110 hari). faktor kedua pemberian air dengan kapasitas yang berbeda, P1 (3600 ml), P2 (2700 ml), P3 (1800 ml) dan P4 (900 ml). Data yang diperoleh menggunakan analisa ragam dan jika terdapat perbedaan perlakuan dilanjutkan dengan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil  (BNT). Hasil penelitian yang didapat adalah; Daya hantar listrik (DHL) dipengaruhi oleh umur panen benih jagung, DHL tertinggi pada umur panen 90 hari dan yang terendah umur panen 100 dan 110 hari. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa semakin besar nilai DHL semakin kecil jumlah perkecambahan. Tidak terdapat interaksi antara umur panen benih dan kelembaban media tanam terhadap jumlah kecambah normal, abnormal, benih keras, benih mati, nisbah pupus akar dan tinggi kecambah tetapi secara tunggal faktor perlakuan umur panen dan kelembaban media tanam berpengaruh nyata terhadap kecambah normal, abnormal, benih keras, benih mati, nisbah pupus akar dan tinggi kecambah. Abstract

ABSTRACT The study aims to determine the effect of the combination of feeding and spawning media against S. nubila egg productivity has been carried out in the Laboratory of Biological Plantation Office, Village Lobbo, North Beo District of Talaud Islands. held for 4 months ie from January to April 2015. Research using completely randomized design (CRD) with treatments that (A) Media dry sand, (B) Media moist sand (C) Media dry soil, (D) Media soil moist, (E) Media mix of soil and sand to dry, (F) Media mixture of soil and sand moist. (G) Each treatment was repeated 4 times. Testing feeding consists of treatment (A) Coconut leaves, (B) Banana leaves, (C) Combination of palm leaves + banana leaves, (D) Reed.  The results showed that the highest egg production was found in Coconut leaves + combination treatment of Banana leaves which reached an average of 50.13 grains followed by treatment Coconut leaves of the grain 36.25, banana leaves 27.11 grain treatment, and treatment reeds 0, 06 grains. Observation of oviposition or the laying of eggs by female imago highest turns found in moist sand treatment media, reaching an average of 31.71 grains, kemuadian consecutive dry sand media average of 25.47 grains, sand + soil moist average of 23 , 64 grain, moist soil on average 21.16 grains, dry ground Sand + average 18.66 and the lowest point on dry land media average of 15.7 grains Keywords: Sexava nubila, Preferences and production of egg ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kombinasi pakan dan media peneluran terhadap produktifitas telur S. nubila telah dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Hayati Dinas Perkebunan, Desa Lobbo, Kecamatan Beo Utara Kabupaten Kepulauan Talaud. dilaksanakan selama 4 bulan yakni sejak bulan Januari sampai dengan April 2015. Penelitian menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan yaitu (A) Media pasir kering, (B) Media pasir lembab (C) Media tanah kering, (D) Media tanah lembab, (E) Media campuran tanah dan pasir kering, (F) Media campuran tanah dan pasir lembab. (G) Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali. Pengujian pemberian pakan terdiri dari perlakuan (A) Daun kelapa, (B) Daun pisang, (C) Kombinasi daun kelapa + daun pisang, (D) Alang-alang.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peletakkan telur oleh imago betina ternyata tertinggi dijumpai pada perlakuan media pasir lembab yakni mencapai rata-rata 31,71 butir, kemudian berturut-turut media pasir kering rata-rata 25,47 butir, Pasir + Tanah lembab rata-rata 23,64 butir, Tanah lembab rata-rata 21,16 butir, Pasir + tanah kering rata-rata 18,66 butir dan terendah pada media tanah kering rata-rata 15,7 butir.  Pengamatan terhadap uji pemberian pakan  menunjukkan bahwa produksi telur tertinggi dijumpai pada perlakuan kombinasi pakan daun kelapa + daun pisang yakni mencapai rata-rata 50,13 butir kemudian diikuti oleh perlakuan daun kelapa 36,25  butir, perlakuan daun pisang 27,11 butir, perlakuan alang-alang 0,06 butir, dan tanpa pakan (kontrol) 0,00 butir. Abstract

ABSTRACT   The objective of this research was to evaluate the vegetative development in 3 North Sulawesi local rice varieties (Superwin (A), Temo (B) dan Burungan (C)) as a response to the thickness variation of cultivated soil layer combined with irrigation deletion. This research was conducted in the glasshouse using polyvinyl chloride (PVC) column (500 mm height, 125 mm diameter) as pots. The treatments consisted of 3 variations of cultivated soil layer, i.e. 18, 24 and 30 cm and the clay hardpan was placed below each of the cultivated soil layers. The level of irrigated water and the amount of the fertilizer were applied following the method of SRI (System of Rice Intensification). The results showed that reducing the thickness of cultivated soil layer to 18-24 cm saved the water as much as 6.15-8.12 L (29.7-39.2%) per pot compared with 30 cm thickness of soil layer in Burungan. Comparing with the 24 cm soil layer thickness, the treatments of 18 cm thickness saved 6.92 L (23.42%) and 5.77 L (18.32%) water, respectively in Superwin and Temo. Abstract

ABSTRACT   Research was aiming to determine the effectiveness of the attractant methyl eugenol + traps modification in the catch of species of fruit flies in the chilli plants at any given time and to identify the types of fruit flies trapped with methyl eugenol + traps modification on chilli crop acreage. The field research was conducted in the area of chilli crop in three places namely District Pineleng, Tompaso / Langowan and Modoinding. Observation number and type of fruit flies was performed at intervals of 2 weeks of observation for 3 months. The result showed that the number of fruit fly caught or trapped dead at 30 traps set in chilli crop acreage was 1278. The highest trapped was 164 whereas the lowest trapped was 89. The number of male fruit flies trapped was high implying that reduction of male fruit fly population in the field. There were five types of fruit flies identified from area of Pineleng, Tompaso and Modoinding namely Bactrocera umbrosa Fabricus, Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel), Bactrocera philippinensis, Bactrocera carambolae, and Bactrocera sp. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of which combination of fertilizer doses is best for the growth of Mustard Plant (Brassica juncea L.). And the research was conducted in Kelurahan Rurukan Tomohon Timur Subdistrict Tomohon City. Soil analysis was conducted in Soil Chemistry and Soil Fertility Department of Soil Agricultural Faculty of Sam Ratulangi University of Manado.This study used a Completely Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of 7 treatment combinations and repeated as many as 4 (four) times to obtain 28 pot experiments. Each pot of the experiment contains 5 kg of soil.The results showed that soil mixture with various combinations of fertilizers had a significant effect on the height of the green mustard plant, the number of leaves of green mustard greens, and the fresh weight of the green mustard plant.The best combination of soil mixture with Urea, Sp36, and Compost fertilizer is 0.5 gram / pot Urea, 0.375 gram / pot Sp36, and 50 gram / pot compost.Keywords: urea fertilizer, Sp36 fertilizer, compost fertilizer

Abstract

ABSTRACT   The study aimed to examine the influence of time of application and concentration of paclobutrazol on growth and yield of potato crop Supejohn held in District Modoinding South Minahasa regency, from March to June 2012, using a randomized block design with two factors. The first factor is the concentration of Paclobutrazol with four standards are: 0 ppm, 75 ppm, 100 ppm, 125 ppm and the second factor is the provision of a three-level applications MST 4, 5 and 6 MST MST (Week After Planting). Based on research, the results of analysis of variance showed an interaction between application timing and concentration of paclobutrazol. Combination treatment with 125 ppm paclobutrazol 6 WAP application time can give significant effect on plant height, number of chlorophyll content, percentage weight class tuber yield components in the form of increased crop production amounted to 45.04 kg / plot (24 plants) / range 52. ton / ha by pressing the vegetative growth of plants. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the genetic variability and heritability of morphological characters of some genotypes of potato at the Seed Station in Linelean Village, Modoinding of South Minahasa Regency. The results showed that, the relatively narrow range of genotypes variance for all the characters observed. The coefficient of variance genotypes for plant height, at 14, 42 and 56 DAP (Days After Planting) was relatively narrow, whereas at 7, 21, 28, 35 and 42 DAP relatively wide. For the character of the number of leaves at 7 and 14 DAP are wide and at 21, 28, 35, 42 and 49 DAP relatively narrow. For the character of leaf area at 7 and 14 DAP were wide and at 21, 28, 35, 42 and 49 DAP relatively narrow. For the character of the number of harvest tubers per plant and weight per tuber harvest were wide. Wide sense heritability were high for all the characters observed, except for plant height at 7 and 56 DAP were classified as moderate. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ragam genotipe tergolong sempit untuk semua karakter yang diamati. Koefisien ragam genotipe untuk karakter tinggi tanaman, pada 14, 42 dan 56 HST (Hari Setelah Tanam)  tergolong sempit, sedangkan pada 7, 21, 28, 35 dan 42 HST tergolong luas. Untuk karakter jumlah daun pada 7 dan 14 HST tergolong luas dan pada 21, 28, 35, 42 dan 49 HST tergolong sempit. Untuk karakter luas daun pada 7 dan 14 HST tergolong luas dan pada 21, 28, 35, 42 dan 49 HST tergolong sempit. Untuk karakter jumlah umbi panen per tanaman dan berat per umbi panen tergolong luas. Heritabilitas arti luas semua karakter tergolong tinggi, kecuali untuk karakter tinggi tanaman pada 7 dan 56 HST yang tergolong sedang.
