Abstract

Mollusks are one of benthic organisms that live on the sea bottom, often on the roots, stems, and leaves of plants. Hydroids (Aglaophenia cupressina), one constituent of coral reef organisms in the waters of Siladen Island, Manado, North Sulawesi, which is also an organism that has stingy nematocysts for divers in the region where they live, is a habitat of mollusks. Hydroids sampling was done by Scuba diving at 5 different depths, reef-flat, 5 m, 10 m, 15 m, and 20 m, respectively. All mollusks specimens were taken to the laboratory for species identification. Results found three species of epibiont mollusks on the hydroids, in which the bigger the hydroid size the larger the volume, and higher number was found. This results from that the mollusks use the hydroids as a shelter from predator attacks, strong currents and waves, and food search.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kajian mutu sensorik dan tingkat kesegaran awal dari ikan cakalang (Katsuwonus pelamis. L) yang digunakan sebagai bahan baku dalam pengolahan ikan asap di Manado. Ikan cakalang yang digunakan sebagai bahan baku memiliki nilai organoleptik rata–rata 7,79 dan nilai–K 37,08%. Hal ini berarti bahwa bahan baku ikan cakalang yang digunakan pada industri pe­ngolahan ikan asap tersebut pada umumnya menggunakan bahan baku ikan yang masuk dalam tingkatan mutu III. Kata kunci: cakalang, Katsuwonus pelamis. L, ikan asap, nilai–K, organoleptik.This objective of this research is to identifying the initial organoleptic quality and freshness level of skipjack tuna, Katsuwonus pelamis. L, used as raw materials for smoked fish in Manado, North Sulawesi. Results found that skipjack tuna used as raw materials for smoked fish has an average organoleptic value of 7.79 and K-value of 37.08%. It means that the raw materials of the skipjack used in the smoked fish processing industry come from the fish of class III quality. Keywords: skipjack tuna, Katsuwonus pelamis. Abstract

The mangrove forest is a transitional ecosystem between land and sea.  As a transition area between land and sea, mangrove forest ecosystems have environmental properties of a sharp gradient.  Tides can result in changes in several environmental factors, mainly temperature and salinity.  One type of animal that can tolerate these environmental changes are of a group of mollusks.  The purpose of this study was to identify the types of mollusks (Gastropoda) found on the floor of Mangrove Forest, using transects squares drawn perpendicular from the shoreline mangrove cutting edge.  From this research activity gastropods found in the floor of mangrove forest-Rap Rap village consists of five phyla, and nine species, namely: Family Cerithiidae, namely Cerithium cobelty and Clypeomorus coralium.  Family Littorinidae are Littoraria scabra, family Muricidae are Chicoreus capucinus, and morula margariticola Drupella rugosa, from the family of Nassarius Nassariidae Potamididae margaritifer and family, namely Telescopium telescopium and Terebralia sulcata.

Abstract

Perubahan kondisi perairan pesisir sesuai dengan fenomena pasang surut, gelombang dan arus dinamis setiap saat.  Tujuan riset ini adalah: mengukur dan menganalisis keadaan air pasang dari Teluk Amurang sesuai periode umur bulan; dan mengetahui dan menganalisis karakteristik arus pantai dan gelombang sesuai dengan periode umur bulan. Arah arus untuk stasiun 1 diamati bergerak ke arah barat laut pada saat permukaan laut mengalami surut sementara saat air pasang bergerak ke barat daya. Untuk stasiun 2 diamati pada permukaan laut telah surut ke arah barat-barat laut bergerak arus pasang saat naik atau laut ke selatan. Berdasarkan pengamatan pengaruh terbesar pada stasiun 1 disebabkan oleh arus sungai Ranoyapo ke stasiun 2 sedangkan pengaruh ini disebabkan oleh arus pasang surut dan angin. Energi total gelombang stasiun 1 adalah 0,076 joule, sedangkan maksimum adalah 0,406 joule. Pada stasiun 2 energi total gelombang adalah 0,364 joule dan maksimum adalah 1,28 joule. Hasil pengukuran pasang surut menunjukkan bahwa jenis air pasang dari teluk Amurang  memiliki tipe campuran atau ganda condong semidiurnal harian, yaitu di siang dan malam ada dua kali dan dua kali surut dengan berbagai berbeda. Kata Kunci : Teluk Amurang, Arus, Gelombang, Pasang Surut, Angin ABSTRACT Changes in the condition of coastal waters in accordance with the phenomenon of tides, waves and currents dynamically at any time. Research objectives are: Measuring and analyzing the state of the tide from  Amurang Bay accordance with generally different month period (the period of full moon, quartir 1, die-month period, and period quartir 3). Knowing and analyzing the characteristics of the flow near the coast (the current speed and direction of flow), and the wave (wave energy) at location in accordance with age-month period in the sky. Current direction for the station first observed moving to the northwest at sea had receded at high tide while moving to the southwest. To station 2 is observed on the surface of the sea has receded to the west-northwest as the tide moves up or sea to the south. Based on the observation station 1 the greatest influence on river flow caused by Ranoyapo to station 2, while the effect is caused by tidal currents and wind. Total wave energy station 1 is 0.076 joules, while the maximum is 0.406 joules. At station 2 the total wave energy is 0.364 joules and the maximum is 1.28 joules. The measurement results show that the type of tide water mark of the bay Amurang have double type or a mixture of semidiurnal leaning daily, ie at lunch and dinner there twice and both times with a variety of different receding. Abstract

Tunggang air pasang surut dan muka laut rata-rata merupakan variabel penting pada oseanografi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menggambarkan tunggang pasang surut dan muka laut rata-rata di perairan sekitar kota Bitung. Kisaran pasang surut dihitung dari perbedaan ketinggian tingkat pasang tinggi hingga surut terendah. Berarti permukaan laut diperoleh dengan menerapkan rumus Doodson filter dan metode admiralti. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kisaran pasang surut di air perbani adalah 63,4 cm dan 155,2 cm pada pasang purnama. Permukaan laut rata-rata tahunan adalah 154,5 cm. Kata kunci: Bitung, pasang surut, muka laut rata-rata.   Tidal range and mean sea level are important oceanographic variables. This research was carried out with the aim of describing tidal range and mean sea level in the waters around Bitung city. Tidal range was calculated from the differences in height of successive high and low tide levels. Mean sea level was obtained by applying filter Doodson formula and admiralty method. The results show that the average tidal range at neap tide was 63,4 cm and 155,2 cm at spring tide. The annual mean sea level was 154,5 cm. Keywords: Bitung, tidal range, mean sea level.

Abstract

Information on water conditions, such as sedimentation, physical factors, and coral reef ecosystem, needs to be understood that the stakeholders could optimally utilize the the area. This study was aimed to measure the organic content in the sediment content of Buyat Bay and its surroundings. Results found that the terrestrial sediments had higher percentage than from the surrounding waters.

Abstract

ABSTRACTAquaculture has contributed one third of the world is supply of seafood. This contribution is expected to increase in the future. Based on this reason, aquaculture is potential to continually provide food for human needs. One of the key factors to the success of aquaculture is the supply of nutritious feed. Feeding with food of right nutrition value will produce healthy and high quality fish. One of the nutrient elements that plays an important role in aquatic organism growth is lipid. Lipids in the form of essential fatty acids are highly required not only for broodstock and larvae, but also for normal growth of marine fish.ABSTRAKAkuakultur telah memberikan kontribusi sebesar sepertiga kebutuhan dunia akan produk makanan laut, dan akan terus bertambah di masa depan. Dipandang dari sudut ini, akuakultur memiliki prospek untuk menjadi usaha berkelanjutan dalam menyediakan pangan bagi populasi manusia yang terus bertambah. Salah satu faktor yang menentukan keberhasilan dalam usaha akuakultur adalah penyediaan pakan dengan kandungan nutrisi yang optimal. Pemberian pakan dengan komponen nutrisi yang tepat dapat menghasilkan ikan yang sehat dan berkualitas tinggi. Salah satu komponen nutrisi yang sangat berperan dalam pertumbuhan biota akuakultur adalah lipida. Lipida berupa asam lemak esensial sangat dibutuhkan baik oleh induk dan larva, juga untuk pertumbuhan secara normal ikan laut.

Abstract

Keberhasilan reproduksi dan efisiensi waktu kersediaan benih merupakan hal yang penting dalam budidaya lele dumbo (Clarias gariepinus). Reproduksi ikan banyak ditentukan oleh nutrisi dan stimulasi dengan menggunakan hormon. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi efek pemberian pakan dengan komposisi nutrien berbeda dan penyuntikan hormon estradiol_17β dosis berbeda, terhadap pematangan gonad induk lele dumbo. Ada dua jenis pakan yang digunakan yaitu pakan Profish yang diramu oleh Balai Budidaya Air Tawar, Tatelu; dan pakan KRA sebagai pakan komersil untuk budidaya ikan kerapu. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perbedaan perlakuan memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap perbedaan lama waktu matang gonad induk ikan lele dumbo. Selanjutnya, hasil analisis pegaruh faktor jenis pakan terhadap lama waktu matang menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan jenis pakan memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap lama waktu matang induk lele dumbo. Hasil analisis pengaruh dosis hormon terhadap lama waktu matang gonad induk lele dumbo menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beda lama waktu matang yang sangat nyata antara induk ikan lele dumbo yang disuntik dengan dosis estradiol_17β yang berbeda. Sementara, hasil analisis interaksi antara faktor jenis pakan dan faktor dosis hormon menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh faktor jenis pakan terhadap lama waktu matang gonad induk lele dumbo, berubah secara signifikan, pada saat perubahan taraf faktor dosis hormon. Kata kunci: lele dumbo Clarias gariepinus, pakan, estradiol_17β, pematangan gonad   The success reproduction and time efficiency in producting seed are crucial in the culture of African catfish (Clarias gariepinus). Fish reproduction is greatly affected by nutrition and responded will to external hormonal introduction. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of feeding with different nutrient composition and hormone injections estradiol_17β different doses, the parent gonad maturation African catfish. There are two types of feed used as feeds Profish concocted by the Balai Budidaya Air Tawar, Tatelu, and KRA as feed commercial feed for grouper. The results showed that the difference in treatment provides a significant influence on differences in the length of time the parent fish gonads mature African catfish. Furthermore, the results of factor analysis pegaruh diets for a long time is ripe suggests that differences in the type of feed is a very real influence on the length of time differences stem mature African catfish. The results of the analysis of the influence of the hormone dose to the gonads mature long stem African catfish showed that there are different length of time is a very real mature between African catfish parent fish were injected with different doses estradiol_17β. Meanwhile, the results of the analysis of the interaction between these factors and the type of feed-dose hormonal factors suggests that the influence of the type of feed for a long time holding the gonads mature African catfish, changed significantly, at a dose factor hormone level changes. Abstract

Multi-criteria analysis has been used widely in the conservation project, especially in the assessment of coastal zones and small islands. In its application to the conservation area, Kapoposang was developing a multi-criteria approach to determine the no-take zone, utilization zone, and sustainable fisheries zone. The multi-criteria approach in Kapoposang constructed by biophysics, ecology, economy and social aspect. Decisions were taken after aggregate analysis of all criteria (Brawn et al 2001) done. The results obtained that the suitable island for the no-take zone is Kapoposang and Suranti Island. Tambakulu Island and Pemangangan were selected as a buffer zone. Finally, the sustainable fisheries zones are Papandangan and Gondongbali island. The spatial analysis of all regional boundaries determined by the three zones reached a total area of 50011.35 ha. Thus the conservation management plan design in each zone were characteristic by different function and management system.Keyword: Zonation, Multi Criteria, Conservation Are, Kapoposang Island, Management plan ABSTRAKAnalisis multi kriteria secara umum sudah sangat luas penggunaanya dalam penelitian konservasi, khusuny untuk penilaian di wilayah pesisir dan pulau-pulau kecil.  Dalam hal ini, untuk wilayah konservasi perairan laut Kapoposang, penelitian ini mengujikan pendekatan multi kriteria untuk menentukan kawasan inti, kawasan pemanfaatan dan zona perikanan perikanan berkelanjutan.  Pendekatan multi kriteria di kapoposang disusun dari aspek biofisik, ekologi, ekonomi dan social.  Keputusan akan diambil setelah analisis agregat dari semua kriteria menurut (Brawn et al 2001) didapatkan.  Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukan bahwa pulau cocok untuk kawasan zona inti adalah pulau Kapoposang dan Suranti.  PulauTambakulu dan Pemanggangan terpilih sebagai kawasan penyangga.  Kemudian zona perikanan berkelanjutan adalah pulau Papandangan dan Gondongbali. Analisis spasial  dari semua  semua wilayah dikaji tercatat total luas wilayah mencapai 50011.35 ha.  Sehingga kemudin rencana aksi konservasi dirancang ditiap zon sesuai dengan perbedaan karakternya serta fungsi.Kata kunci : Zonasi, Multi Kriteria, Konservasi, Kepulauan Kapoposang, Rencana Pengelolaan

Abstract

Seaweed jam can be made by dry seaweed or fresh seaweed.  Research result indicated that dry seaweed jam and fresh seaweed jam can be accepted by consumer.  In the tekstur and color perspective, dry seaweed jam and fresh seaweed jam in the good graces (point 4), whereas in smell perspective, both of the jam rather in the good graces (point 3).  Taste of the dry seaweed jam is in the good graces (point 4) whereas fresh seaweed jam rather in the good graces (point 3) by consumer.
