Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan memetakan dan menginventarisir hasil tangkapan pancing tangan di Perairan Sangihe pada sembilan lokasi penangkapan ikan. Penangkapan ikan tuna di Perairan Sangihe terutama dengan menggunakan pancing tangan (tuna handline) yang oleh nelayan lokal dinamakan latage. Sarana tangkap yang biasa digunakan adalah perahu katir tipe pelang 3–5 HP; perahu katir tipe pumpboat 150 HP; kapal tipe lambut 150 HP. Hasil tangkapan perahu pelang yaitu tuna sirip kuning 2 ekor; perahu pumpboat yaitu cakalang 100 ekor dan panitang 402 ekor; kapal lambut yaitu madidihang 102 ekor; tuna mata besar 2 ekor. Madidihang paling tinggi tertangkap pada posisi geografis 3º47'N–125º19'E (ponton Marcopolo 03), sedangkan cakalang paling tinggi tertangkap pada posisi geografis 3º39'N–125º12'E (ponton Kendahe). Kata Kunci: tuna, penangkapan ikan, pancing tangan, latage, posisi geografis This study aims to map and to inventory the hand fishing catches in the waters of the Sangihe at nine fishing locations. Tuna fishing in the waters of the Sangihe mainly uses handlines (tuna handline) which is called latage by local fisherman. Fishing vessels used to catch tuna were pelang type 3–5 HP outrigger boats, pumpboat type 150 HP outrigger boat and lambut type 150 HP boats. The fish catches by each boat types were 2 yellow fin tunas by the pelang boats; 100 skipjacks and 402 panitangs by the pumpboat boats; and 102 yellow fin tunas and 2 big eye tunas by lambut boats. Highest number of yellowfin tunas was caught in the geographical position of 3º47'N–125º19'E (Marcopolo 03 pontoon) and while the highest number of skipjacks was caught in the geographical position of 3º39'N–125º12'E (Kendahe pontoon). Abstract

Bottom trap have been used widely by coastal communities in North Sulawesi to catch coral fishes, since it simple in design, cheaper and easy to manage with a small boat. Unfortunately, the fishing practice of the traditional trap is usually conducted in destructive way, where fishermen cover the gear with live coral to attract fishing target.  Although the gear’s design has evolved over centuries, there is still potential for improving its catching efficiency and selectivity. An attempt to understand the fishing process of bottom trap should therefore be focused on bait and how its chemical composition, visual and physical properties may stimulate target species to attack the bait and captured. Addition of squid liver oil to the bait could increase the fishing power of bottom trap gear. But scientific information’s about its applications are not available yet. Therefore, the objective of this research was to study the effect of squid liver oil on bait of bottom trap toward the capture of coral fishes. This research was done in Bangka Strait North of Minahasa, based on experimental method. Six units of bottom trap (bamboo) were operated ten nights in collecting data; where tree units of them used scad mackerel bait that injected by squid liver oil, and tree other units just used scad mackerel bait without squid liver oil; and the capture data were analyzed by ttest. The catch was 117 fish in total consist of 2 genera; 74 fish was caught by scad mackerel bait with squid liver oil, and 43 fish was caught by bait without squid liver oil. Analysis of ttest show that t0= 8.908>t0.05; 5= 3.250; which means that the addition of squid liver oil on bait could increase the catch of bottom trap.

Abstract

ABSTRACTA study aimed to examine the status of sustainable management of coral reef in Pulau Hogow and Pulau Putus-Putus in Southeast Minahasa regency, North Sulawesi Province, was conducted in from July to September 2011. Diagnosis on the status of sustainable management of coral reef was presented in a sequence covering the ecological, economic, social, institutional and technological dimensions. In ecological dimension, the attribute of percentage of coral cover provided the largest contribution. In economical dimension, the largest contribution was provided by tourism guide, time used for coral reefs exploitation, dependency on the resource as a source of income and foreign tourists attributes. In social dimension, similar indications shown by the attributes of the number of locations which were potential for exploitation conflicts, level of education and efforts to repair the damage of coral reef ecosystems. On the institutional dimension, the contributions made by all attributes were almost even, with the highest is the tradition/culture and cooperation attributes. Similarly, in the technological dimension the contributions made attributes were almost even, with the highest contributions were from boat technology and technology post-harvest technology attributes. For overall dimensions of sustainability management of coral reefs, a map created in RAPFISH ordinate showed recommendation on the status of the sustainability.Keywords: sustainability, management, coral reef, dimension.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah status keberlanjutan pengelolaan te-rumbu karang di Pulau Hogow dan Putus-Putus Kabupaten Minahasa Tenggara Provinsi Sulawesi Utara, dilakukan pada bulan Juli-September 2011. Diagnosis status keberlanjutan pengelolaan terumbu karang dikemukakan secara berurutan mencakup dimensi ekologi, dimensi ekonomi, dimensi sosial, dimensi kelembagaan dan dimensi teknologi. Dalam dimensi ekologi atribut persentase penutupan karang memberikan kontribusi terbesar. Untuk dimensi ekonomi kontribusi terbesar diberikan atribut pe-mandu wisata, waktu yang digunakan untuk pemanfaatan terumbu karang, ketergan-tungan kepada sumberdaya sebagai sumber nafkah dan wisatawan mancanegara. Di-mensi sosial indikasi serupa ditunjukkan oleh atribut-atribut jumlah lokasi potensi kon-flik pemanfaatan, tingkat pendidikan dan upaya perbaikan kerusakan ekosistem terum-bu karang. Pada dimensi kelembagaan kontribusi yang diberikan atribut-atribut merata, tetapi yang tertinggi adalah tradisi/budaya dan koperasi. Demikian juga pada dimensi teknologi, kontribusi yang diberikan atribut-atribut merata, dengan kontribusi tertinggi adalah atribut teknologi perahu dan teknologi pasca panen. Untuk semua dimensi keberlanjutan pengelolaan terumbu karang, hasil pemetaan yang dilakukan dalam ordinasi RAPFISH menunjukkan status keberlanjutan yang baik untuk dilakukan.Kata kunci: keberlanjutan, pengelolaan, terumbu karang, dimensi.

Abstract

Perahu katir (pumpboat) di kota Bitung, Sulawesi Utara, digunakan untuk penangkapan tuna dengan menggunakan alat tangkap tuna hand-line. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara ukuran utama perahu dan kapasitas muat (GT). Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 92 sampel perahu katir yang tersebar di kota Bitung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara ukuran utama perahu katir, Panjang (L) dan Lebar (B), mengikuti persamaan: B= 0,3584+0,0860L, dengan r=0,56; serta hubungan Panjang (L) dan Dalam (D) mengikuti D=0,1491+0,0775L, dengan r=0,64. Hubungan antara Panjang (L) dan kapasitas muat (GT) perahu katir mengikuti persamaan kuadrat GT=0,00887-0,1119(L)+0,03315(L2) dengan r=0,72. Kata kunci: katir, pumpboat, tonase kotor.   Outrigger boat (pumpboat) in the city of Bitung, North Sulawesi are used on tuna fisheries using Tuna hand-line fishing gear. The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between the principle dimension and the loading capacity (GT). This research was conducted on 92 samples of outrigger boats around the city of Bitung. The results showed that the relation between the principle dimensions of outrigger boat was following the equation: B=0.3584+0.0860L, with r=0.56; and D=0.1491+0.0775L, with r=0.64. The relationship between the Length (L) and loading capacity (GT) of outrigger boat was following the quadratic equation that is GT=0.00887-0.1119(L)+0.03315(L2) with r=0.72. Abstract

The objective of the study is to know the fish individual abundance and biomass in the mouth of Poigar River. The study employed swept area method, sampling was done at high tide and low tide of a new moon and full moon phase using a beach seine. The seine covered 2700 m2 at low tide and 900 m2 at high tide. The fish catches in both moon phases and tidal conditions consisted of 40 species of 25 families and 481 individuals. Total fish weight was 3,804 g. The individual abundance in the new moon was 0.0004/m2 – 0.1200/m2, and the biomass in the new moon was 0.0002 g/m2 – 0.5044 g/m2. The individual abundance in full moon was 0.0004/m2 – 0.0622/m2, and the biomass in full moon was 0.0002 g/m2-0.4017 g/m2. As a whole, both individual abundance and biomass in new moon and full moon at were 0.3922g/m2  and 2.7778 g/m2, respectively.Keywords: abundance, biomass, river poigar.AbstrakTujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui kelimpahan individu dan biomassa penelitian ini menggunakan metode (swept area), pengambilan sampel dilakukan saat air surut dan air pasang pada fase bulan baru dan bulan purnama dengan menggunakan pukat pantai. Luas daerah sapuan pukat pada periode surut 2700 m2 dan periode pasang 900 m2. Hasil tangkapan selama dua periode bulan saat air pasang maupun air surut sebanyak 40 spesies ikan dari 25 famili, 481 individu dan berat 3804. Ki bulan baru 0,0004/m2-0,1200/m2, Kb bulan baru 0,0002g/m2-0,5044g/m2. Ki bulan purnama 0,0004/m2-0,0622/m2, Kb bulan purnama 0,0002g/m2-0,4017. Secara keseluruhan kelimpahan individu dan biomassa pada fase bulan baru dan bulan purnama saat air surut dan pasang adalah Ki sebesar 0,3922/m2 sedangkan Kb sebesar 2,7778 g/m2.kata kunci: Kelimpahan, biomassa, sungai poigar

Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of ginger extract addition and refrigerate storage on sensory quality of Tuna through panelist’s perception. Panelists (n=30) evaluated samples for overall appearance and flavor attribute using hedonic scale 1–7. The sample which is more acceptable by panelists on flavor attributes having 3% gingers extract and storage for 3 days. The less acceptable sample on flavor attribute having 0% ginger extract and storage for 9 days. On the other hand, the sample which is more acceptable by panelists on overall appearance having 0% ginger extract without storage treatment. The less acceptable sample on overall appearance having 3% ginger extract and storage for 9 days.

Abstract

ABSTRACTCommunity structure of target fishes was analyzed to understand their response to different conditions of coral reefs in several places of Hugow and Putus-Putus islands. This study focused on species abundance and diversity including Shannon-Wiener’s species diversity (H’), species richness (SR), species evenness (J’) and dominance (d) indices, respectively. A multivariate analysis was used for the classification or correspondence factorial analyses. The result recorded 4,501 individuals belonging to 52 species of target fishes. Both cluster and correspondence analyses clearly recognized 3 groups of target fish with 2 major controlling factors for the development of these 3 ecological groups, i.e. coral reef conditions and geographic position to the hydrodynamic condition.ABSTRAKStruktur komunitas ikan target dianalisis untuk melihat respon ikan target terhadap perbedaan kondisi terumbu karang di beberapa lokasi Pulau Hogow dan Putus-Putus. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Oktober 2010 dengan pengambilan data di 6 stasiun. Dalam penelitian ini telah dikaji variabel komunitas seperti kelimpahan dan keanekaragaman spesies termasuk indeks keanekaragaman spesies Shannon-Wiener (H’), indeks kekayaan spesies (SR), indeks kemerataan spesies (J’) dan indeks dominasi (d). Untuk melihat assemblage ikan target dilakukan analisis multivariat baik analisis klasifikasi maupun analisis faktorial koresponden. Dalam penelitian ini diperoleh 4501 indidu yang termasuk dalam 52 spesies ikan target. Analisis multivariat baik analisis cluster maupun analisis koresponden telah memisahkan dengan jelas 3 grup ikan target, dimana terdapat dua faktor utama pengendali pembentukan 3 grup ekologis ini yakni faktor kondisi terumbu karang dan faktor posisi lokasi terhadap kondisi hidrodinamika perairan.

Abstract

Kawasan pesisir Desa Sarawet Likupang Timur memiliki mangrove seluas 379 hektar dan me­miliki potensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai kawasan ekowisata. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) Menganalisis struktur komunitas hutan mangrove di Desa Sarawet (2) Mengkaji po­tensi kawasan pesisir Desa Sarawet untuk dikembangkan menjadi kawasan ekowisata berbasis mangrove. Hasil analisis terhadap 6 variabel yaitu sumberdaya alam, budaya lokal, sosial-ekonomi masyarakat, in­frastuktur kawasan, institusional dan kemungkinan dampak di kawasan pesisir Desa Sarawet menghasil­kan nilai 3,7. Nilai ini menunjukkan bahwa kawasan pesisir Desa Sarawet berada pada level moderat ya­ng berarti dapat dikembangkan sebagai kawasan ekowisata berbasis mangrove. Kata kunci: Sarawet; ekowisata; mangrove   Coastal village of East Likupang Sarawet has 379 hectares of mangrove area and has the poten­tial to be developed as an ecotourism area. Accordingly, this study aimed to (1) To analyze the community structure of mangrove forest in the village of Sarawet (2) To assess the potential of the coastal village of Sarawet to be developed into a mangrove-based ecotourism region. The results of the analysis on six va­riables, namely natural resources, local culture, socio-economic communities, regional infrastructure, institutional and likely impact on the coastal village of Sarawet produce a value of 3.7. This value indi­cates that the coastal village of Sarawet is at the moderate level wich means it can be developed as a mangrove-based ecotourism area. Keywords: Sarawet; ecotourism; mangroves.

Abstract

This research was conducted in the city of Bitung, North Sulawesi Province with activities centered on the Bitung Ocean Fisheries Port (PPS), which began from mid March to April 2019. The fishing activities studied are using the fishing areas around the waters of  North Sulawesi Province namely the Sulawesi Sea and The Maluku Sea which are included in WPP 715 and 716 based on tuna catch landed data on PPS Bitung. The purpose of this study was to analyze the value of sustainable potential by looking at the level of utilization and Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) of tuna in the waters around North Sulawesi Province based on a surplus production model approach (Schaefer Model). This research is expected to be used as a consideration in the management of tuna stocks around the waters of North Sulawesi Province, and can be used as a basis for further research. This study uses a secondary data collection method in the form of fishery statistics documents. The data used are data from tuna fishing and fishing (effort), from 2014 to 2018 (5 years). The results showed that the sustainable potential of tuna fisheries around the waters of North Sulawesi Province based on North Sulawesi PPS data indicated that, the sustainable potential value of tuna that could be caught was 14,173.51 tons / year which is counted as 80% of the value of tuna resources around the waters of North Sulawesi Province. PPS Bitung data which amounted to 17,716.15 tons / year for Hmsy, 1,200.15 trips / year for Emsy, with an average CPUE value of 2014-2018 of 19 tons / trip. The level of tuna utilization around the waters of North Sulawesi Province is based on data from PPS Bitung in 2014, 2017 and 2018 which indicate that there were indications of overfishing with the largest utilization rate in 2014 which reached a value of 155.09%.Keywords: tuna, Bitung, Bitung PPS, sustainable potential, MSY. ABSTRAKKegiatan penelitian ini berlangsung di Kota Bitung, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara dengan kegiatan berpusat di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera (PPS) Bitung, yang dimulai  dari pertengahan bulan Maret hingga bulan April 2019. Aktivitas perikanan tangkap yang ditelaah berlangsung di sekitar perairan Provinsi Sulawesi Utara yaitu Laut Sulawesi dan Laut Maluku yang masuk ke dalam WPP 715 dan 716 berdasarkan data tangkapan tuna yang didaratkan di PPS Bitung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis nilai potensi lestari dengan melihat tingkat pemanfaatan dan maximum sustainable yield (MSY) ikan tuna di sekitar perairan Provinsi Sulawesi Utara berdasarkan pendekatan model produksi surplus (Model Schaefer). Penelitan ini diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pertimbangan dalam pengelolaan stok ikan tuna di sekitar perairan Provinsi Sulawesi Utara, serta dapat digunakan sebagai dasar untuk penelitian selanjutnya.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengumpulan data sekunder berbentuk dokumen. Data yang diambil adalah data tangkapan ikan tuna dan upaya penangkapan ikan atau effort (trip), dari tahun 2014 sampai dengan 2018 (5 Tahun). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan potensi lestari perikanan tuna di sekitar perairan Provinsi Sulawesi Utara berdasarkan data PPS Bitung Sulawesi Utara nilai potensi lestari tuna yang bisa ditangkap adalah 14.173,51 ton/tahun 80% dari nilai pemanfaatan sumber daya perikanan tangkap tuna di sekitar perairan Provinsi Sulawesi Utara berdasarkan data PPS Bitung yang sebesar 17.716,15 ton/tahun untuk Hmsy, 1.200,15 trip/tahun untuk Emsy, dengan nilai CPUE rata-rata tahun 2014-2018 sebesar 19 ton/trip. Tingkat pemanfaatan tuna di sekitar perairan Provinsi Sulawesi Utara berdasarkan data PPS Bitung Sulawesi Utara di tahun 2014,2017 dan 2018 sudah yang menandakan adanya indikasi overfishing dengan tingkat pemanfaatan terbesar di tahun 2014 yang mencapai nilai 155,09%.Kata Kunci: ikan tuna, Bitung, PPS Bitung, potensi lestari, MSY.

Abstract

Tilapia fish production is available almost all year round, so fish is easy to obtain and economic value. Use of low temperature 0°C on wet fish can prolong the process rigormortis, can suppress bacterial activity, chemical and organoleptic changes. This study aims to determine the effect of different weights to the organoleptic quality of tilapia fish during cold storage. Observations made include a description of the eyes, gills, and texture and odor panel using a team of 15 people. The results showed that weight did not influence the quality of tilapia fish orgnoleptic. And storage of up to 2 days, fish is still fresh classified.
