Abstract

This research was conducted at 3 stations in the seagrass ecosystem of the Tongkeina coastal waters district of Bunaken Darat Manado on March 16, 2019, at 10:35 - 13:45 WITA. This study aims to know the types and community structures of phytoplankton in the Tongkeina seagrass ecosystem and its environmental conditions. The method used to collect the sample is sampling. Samples were taken using a plankton net measuring 20 cm in mouth diameter with a mesh size of 60 microns. Based on the results of observations obtained by the composition of phytoplankton species, namely 17 genera of 22 species in 3 classes namely Bacillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae, and Pyramimonadophyceae. The highest density of phytoplankton in Tongkeina waters is at Station 2 (0.360 cells / l) with the highest relative density of Chaetoceros sp. (19.10%). While the highest density of phytoplankton is found at Station 3 (0.516 cells / l) with the highest relative density of Melosira sp. (21.69%). The lowest Diversity Index at Station 2 (H '= 2,217) and the highest at station 3 (H' = 2,284). This shows that overall these waters have moderate diversity values. The lowest Uniformity Index at Station 1 (e = 0.858) and the highest at Station 2 (e = 0.924). This shows that overall these waters have a medium uniformity value. The lowest dominance index at Station 3 (C = 0.119) and the highest at Station 1 (C = 0.127). This shows that no species dominate the waters. The water conditions such as temperature, salinity, pH, and brightness still support the growth of phytoplankton.Keywords: phytoplankton, community structure, seagrass, Tongkeina ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilakukan pada 3 stasiun di  perairan ekosistem lamun kelurahan  Tongkeina kecamatan Bunaken Darat pada tanggal 16 Maret 2019 pukul 10:35 – 13:45 WITA, dengan tujuan mengetahui jenis dan struktur komunitas fitoplankton yang ada di perairan ekosistem lamun  Tongkeina serta kondisi lingkungannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah Metode sampling. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan plankton net berdiameter mulut berukuran 20 cm dengan mesh size 60 mikron. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan diperoleh komposisi jenis fitoplankton  yakni 17 genus 22 spesies dalam 3 kelas yaitu Bacillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae, dan Pyramimonadophyceae.Kepadatan tertinggi fitoplankton di perairan Tongkeina terdapat pada Stasiun 2 (0.360 sel/l) dengan kepadatan relatif tertinggi Chaetoceros sp. (19.10%). Sedangkan  kepadatan fitoplankton tertinggi terdapat pada Stasiun 3 (0.516 sel/l) dengan kepadatan relatif tertinggi Melosira sp. (21.69%). Indeks Keanekaragaman terrendah pada Stasiun 2 (H’= 2.217) dan tertinggi pada stasiun 3 (H’= 2.284). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan perairan ini memiliki nilai keanekaragaman sedang. Indeks Keseragaman terrendah pada Stasiun 1  (e= 0.858) dan tertinggi pada Stasiun 2  (e= 0.924). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan perairan ini memiliki nilai keseragaman  sedang. Indeks Dominansi terrendah pada Stasiun 3 (C= 0.119) dan yang tertinggi pada Stasiun 1 (C= 0.127). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada jenis yang mendominasi perairan. Abstract

Sonneratia alba is a mangrove that is found in North Sulawesi and has been known to contain bioactive substances through researches. Rendement is the ratio of the dry weight of the extract to the amount of the raw material. Rendement value is related to the amount of bioactive content contained. The higher the rendement, the higher the bioactive componds contain in sample. The purpose of this study was to obtain the rendement value of Sonneratia alba leaves extract taken from Wori Village, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province which was extracted using the infundation method with extraction time of 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes, 50 minutes at boiling water solvent. Sample comparison of 50 gr : 3000 mL solvent (1:60 w / v). The results showed the lowest rendement in the 10 minutes treatment was 18.34% and the highest was in the 50 minutes treatment 29.76%. The rendement of leaves extract of this study has the possibility of qualitatively containing bioactive compounds that can act as antibacterial and antioxidant. Overall, it can be concluded that the extraction time affects the rendement, where the longer the extraction time, the higher the rendement.Key words: Rendement, Sonneratia alba, old leaf, infundation AbstrakSonneratia alba merupakan salah satu jenis mangrove yang banyak di temukan di Sulawesi Utara dan sudah dikenal mengandung zat-zat bioaktif melalui hasil-hasil penelitian. Rendemen adalah perbandingan berat kering ekstrak dengan jumlah bahan baku. Nilai rendemen berkaitan dengan banyaknya kandungan bioaktif yang terkandung. Semakin tinggi rendemen maka semakin tinggi kandungan zat yang tertarik ada pada suatu bahan baku. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan rendemen ekstrak daun tua Sonneratia alba yang diambil dari Desa Wori, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara yang diesktrak menggunakan metode infundasi dengan waktu ekstraksi yaitu 10 menit, 20 menit, 30 menit, 40 menit, 50 menit pada pelarut air mendidih. Perbandingan sampel 50 gr : 3000 mL pelarut (1:60 b/v). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rendemen terendah pada perlakuan 10 menit yakni 18,34% dan tertinggi pada perlakuan 50 menit 29,76%. Rendemen ekstrak daun tua penelitian ini memiliki kemungkinan secara kualitatif mengandung senyawa bioaktif yang dapat berperan sebagai antibakteri dan antioksidan. Secara keseluruhan disimpulkan bahwa lama waktu ekstraksi berpengaruh terhadap rendemen, dimana semakin lama waktu ekstraksi maka semakin tinggi rendemen.Kata kunci : Rendemen, Sonneratia alba, daun tua, infundasi

Abstract

Economic and social prosperity is a dream of all traditional fishermen, particularly those who live in Malalayang I, Manado, North Celebes. This study used interviews to gather the information. Results found that 1) the local fishermen need to move to a semi-industrial fishing gear and boat in order to increase their catches; 2) the fishermen need to have an investment support to provide better fishing gears. Improvement in their economic and social conditions would bring improvements in social relationship among local fishermen.

Abstract

Effect of K+ concentration on growth rate, feed efficiency, potassium whole body, and osmoregulatory capacity of L. vannamei postlarvae Boone, 1931 were investigated. Treatments consisted of different concentration of K+ added to distilled water. Four treatments were set, namely A, B, C and D, where K2CO3 levels were 0, 30, 60 and 90 ppm, respectively. After the 42-days feeding trial, growth rate and potassium whole body of the shrimp under treatment D (90 ppm K2CO3) were significantly higher, while the value of osmoregulatory capacity in treatment A (0 ppm K2CO3) significantly higher than those under the other four treatments. The results indicated treatment C (60 ppm K2CO3) were the optimum K+ level for growth rate with increasing body size.

Abstract

Fisheries should be a sustainable economic activity in order to maintain its services in the future. Sustainable marine fisheries resources exploitation requires a utilization rate lower than the resources availability. Therefore, the exploitation rate should not achieve the recovery ability of the resources in any particular period. In fishing activities, for instance, there is a guideline not to catch fish over the Total Allowable Catch (TAC), 80% of the MSY value. The exploitation rate of the anchovy (Stolephorus sp.) in Dodinga Bay was still low. It could result from small-scaled traditional fishermen and low fishing distance from the shore. Their income was also low due to high operational cost and fluctuation in fish price. To improve the fishermen prosperity, it is necessary to raise the fishing productivity and the efficiency of production input utilization on the boat lift net. This study focused on understanding the anchovy fishing season of the boat lift net in Dodinga Bay to analyze the yearly fishing seasons for the last five years. Results concluded that the fishing season of the anchovy (Stolephorus sp.) in Dodinga Bay could be separated into two phases, March to June and October to November, but the former was more extensive and lager in scale than the later.

Abstract

Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di Taman Nasional Bunaken yakni Pantai Pulau Nain dan Tanjung Arakan pada bulan Februari 2012. Penelitian dimulai dengan menyusuri pantai pada pagi hingga siang hari saat air sedang surut dengan menggunakan alat snorkeling. Penelitian ini berhasil menemukan 15 jenis siput dari 9 famili dan 5 jenis alga makro dari 3 famili.  Komunitas siput gastropoda di kedua stasiun penelitian memiliki nilai indeks kesamaan sebesar 63%. Sedangkan komunitas alga makro memiliki nilai indeks kesamaan sebesar 75%. Hal tersebut menyatakan bahwa siput gastropoda dan alga makro di kedua stasiun penelitian relatif memiliki kesamaan dalam komposisi jenis. Untuk siput jenis Strombus labiatus, Strombus sp 1, Strombus urceus, Pyrene scripta, Cerithium rostratum, Cymatium vespacium, Phasianella solida, Vexillum vulpecullum, Gyrineum bituberculare dan Clanculus atropurpureus lebih cenderung memilih alga makro jenis Halimeda opuntia sebagai habitatnya. Relung ekologi Pyrene scripta di Tanjung Arakan dan Pulau Nain memiliki nilai yang tertinggi (maksimum). Hal ini menandakan bahwa siput Pyrene scripta merupakan siput yang generalis karena tersebar pada hampir seluruh jenis alga makro. Kata kunci: Taman Nasional Bunaken, gastropoda, alga makro, kesamaan komunitas, relung ekologi.   Samples were collected from Nain Island and Arakan Cape in Bunaken National Park area, in February 2012. The collection was conducted by snorkeling along the coastline in the morning, when the tide was low. This study found 15 species of slugs from nine families and 5 species of macro algae from three families. Communities of gastropod snails in both research stations have similarity index value of 63%, while the macro algae communities have similarity index value of 75%. This indicated that the gastropod snails and macro algae from both study sites were relatively similar concerning their species composition. Some slugs such as Strombus labiatus, Strombus sp 1, Strombus urceus, Pyrene scripta, Cerithium rostratum, Cymatium vespacium, Phasianella solida, Vexillum vulpecullum, Gyrineum bituberculare and Clanculus atropurpureus were more likely to choose the Halimeda Opuntia macro algae as their habitat. Ecological niche of Pyrene scripta on the Arakan Cape and Nain Island showed the highest value (maximum). This indicated that Pyrene scripta are generalized species that lived on nearly all types of macro algae.Keywords: Bunaken National Park, gastropoda, macro algae, similarity community, ecological niche.

Abstract

The handling of fishery products play an important role in exploiting fisheries production, which began handling the treatment of fish caught, on board, when landed, the market-the market, retailers get to the processing plant.  Storage temperature of fish plays an important role when the fish die. the use of low temperatures around 0oC after dead fish can extend the seizures (rigor mortis), lower enzymatic activity, bacterial, chemical and physical changes that can prolong the durable power of fish. How to fish death during arrest have a major influence on the process begins and the end of rigor mortis is consequential to the quality and durable power of fish.  This study aims to determine the influence of how the death of fish on fish lasting power during cold storage. benefits of this research can provide information on the manner of death a good fish. Research results snapper fitness level based on organoleptic testing with scores ranging between 4.8 to 50 with an average rating of 50, 45.7, 38.5, 26.2 for treated fish were injected / gancu, 50, 38.1, 10, 5.4 for fish a dead flounder.  Research results snapper fitness level based on the value-K test is: 25.78% injection treatment / gancu, 48.99% hit with a wood treatment on the head and the dead fish flounder 50.34%.  Fish snapper (Lutjanus sp.) who was arrested dikaramba Likupang waters, the organoleptic and value-K is still suitable for consumption and for processing raw materials.

Abstract

The lamun is a high level of vegetation that lives in the sub-tropical region. The lamun has a high chance of survival in southeast Asia. In Indonesia, details of the largest tidal wave in the east are so much for research about lamun, one of which is information about the current research project of the lamun ocean in old manado island. The study was intended to obtain information about the percentage of lamun caps in the coastal waters of old manando island. Research is based on the old island of manado, the bunaken islands district, the city of manado was completed in the second week of December. To find out which artic percentage patch on Manado Tua island, a type of seagrass Thalassia hemprichii and Enhalus acorides, 71% frame presentation. The total 33 square, the 23 squares is Enhalus acorides and 2 of them Thalassia hemprichii while the other 8 squares are occupied by 2 types seagrass. the other net value of the current was 3,4 cm/s, a precentage of current velocity 100%, and when the water rose 0,21 m, whereas a high rise of 2,17 m, the salinity rate of Manado island is 35 ‰, three times that of salinity measurement was achived in lowest scores 26⁰C and the highest figure 29⁰C, the caostal waters substrat Manado tua island to which is sand, rocky, coral reef mixes, sand blends with gravel.Key words : seagrass, percent of cover, Manado tua island ABSTRAKLamun adalah tumbuhan tingkat tinggi yang hidup di wilayah sub-tropis. Lamun mempunyai peluang hidup yang tinggi di kawasan Asia Tenggara. Di indonesia rincian luasan lamun terbesar berada dibagian timur sehingga masih banyak kajian penelitian yang harus diungkapkan tentang Lamun, salah satunya informasi mengenai presentase tutupan Lamun. penelitian kali ini mengenai tutupan lamun di perairan pantai pulau Manado Tua. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang persentase tutupan lamun di perairan pantai pulau Manando tua. Penelitian berlokasi di Pulau Manado tua, Kecamatan Bunaken Kepulauan, Kota Manado  dilaksanakan pada minggu kedua bulan Desember. Untuk mengetahui persantese tutupan lamun di pulau Manado Tua menggunakan metode Line transeck . Hasil penelitian di Pulau Manado tua, jenis lamun yaitu: Thalassia hemprichii dan Enhalus acorides, presentase tutupan lamun 71,4%. Total 33 kuadrat, 23 diantarnya adalah Enhalus acorides dan 2 diantaranya Thalassia hemprichii sedangkan 8 kuadrat lainnya ditempati 2 jenis lamun. Parameter biofisik lainnya yang didapat, kecepatan arus rata-rata pengukuran 3 stasiun yaitu 3,4 cm/s, persentase kecepatan arus 100%, kedalam saat air surut 0,21 m sedangkan ketika pasang tertinggi 2,17 m, Pengukuran salinitas di peraiaran pantai pulau Manado Tua diperoleh angka kadar salinitas yaitu 35 ‰, pengukuran suhu dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali dan di peroleh angka terendah 26⁰C dan angka paling tinggi 29⁰C, Substrat perairan pantai pulau Manado yang di temui yaitu berpasir, berbatu,  bercampur terumbu karang, pasir bercampur dengan kerikil. merskipun tingkat keragaman jenis tidak tinggi namun penelitian di perairan pantai pulau Manado Tua menujukan bahwa persentase tutupan lamun berada dalam kategori Baik (≥ 60%). Kata kunci : Lamun, Persentase tutupan, Pulau Manado tua

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the length-weight relationship and gonad maturity of Betutu fish (Oxyeleotris marmorata) in Lake Tondano. Fish samples were caught using gill nets and lift nets in Lake Tondano. Total catches of 240 individuals. The legth-weight relation of male fish is W = 0.0094 L3.14 positive allometric growth pattern. Female female fish obtained W = 0.0104 L3.11 positive allometric growth patterns. The condition factor for male fish is 1.46 male and 1.47 female respectively. All levels of gonad maturity (I, II, III, IV and V) were found in each sample both in August and September. The size of the first mature male male fish is 219 ± 3 mm (range in size 216-222 mm) and female fish 171 ± 3 (range in size 169-174 mm).Keywords: Length-Weight, gonad maturity, Tondano Lake ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan panjang-berat dan kematangan gonad ikan Betutu (Oxyeleotris marmorata) yang ada di danau Tondano. Sampel ikan  ditangkap menggunakan jaring insang dan jaring angkat di danau Tondano. Total hasil tangkapan  240 individu. Hubungan panjang-berat ikan betutu jantan yaitu W = 0,0094L3,1394 pola pertumbuhan allometrik positif. Ikan betutu betina didapatkan W = 0,0104L3,1137 pola pertumbuhan allometrik positif. Faktor kondisi ikan betutu jantan masing-masing sebesar  1,46 ikan jantan dan  1,47 ikan betina. Seluruh tingkat  kematangan gonad (I, II, III, IV dan V) ditemukan pada setiap sampel baik pada bulan agustus maupun bulan September.  Ukuran pertama kali matang ikan betutu jantan yaitu   219 ±3 mm (kisaran ukuran 216-222 mm) dan ikan betina  171±3  (kisaran ukuran 169-174 mm)Kata Kunci: Panjang-berat, kematangan gonad, Danau Tondano

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the reproductive aspects of Banggai Cardinal Fish (Pterapogon kauderni) in the Lembeh Strait. Fish samples were obtained by “Small Chang Net” in the Lembeh Strait. The total sample was 150 individuals. Sex Ratio of Pterapogon kauderni in Serena Besar Island 1: 1, in LIPI 1: 1 water, and in Papusungan waters 1: 1. IKG Pterapogon kauderni  in Serena besar location in females obtained 0.26 ± 0.21 and in males 0, 26 ± 0.13. Location of Papusungan, females obtained 1.25 ± 1.00 and in males 0.37 ± 0.16. Then finally, at the LIPI location, females obtained 0.64 ± 1.12 and in males 0.50 ±,69. Gonad Maturity Levels are classified into three categories, young gonads, mature and salty gonads, with a percentage of 25% of individual young gonads, 20% of mature gonads, and 55% of saline gonads, respectively. Gonadal maturity index in each category of gonad maturity is young gonad 0.23, mature 2.16 and salin 0.27. The "Ovarian Fecundity"  is 30 ± 11 eggs, and the "Fecundity Brooding" fecundity is 48 ± 16 eggs.Keywords: Pterapogon kauderni, Sex Ratio, Gonad Maturity, FecundityABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aspek reproduksi ikan Capungan banggai (Pterapogon kauderni) yang ada di Selat Lembeh. Sampel ikan diperoleh dengan cara ditangkap menggunakan “Small Chang Net” Di Selat Lembeh. Total hasil tangkapan Berjumlah 150 individu. Nisbah kelamin Pterapogon kauderni di Pulau Serena Besar 1 : 1. Di perairan LIPI 1 : 1, dan di Perairan Papusungan 1 : 1. IKG Ikan Pterapogon kauderni di lokasi P. Serena Besar betina diperoleh 0,26 ± 0,21 dan pada jantan 0,26 ± 0,13. Di lokasi Papusungan, betina diperoleh 1,25 ± 1,00 dan pada jantan 0,37 ± 0,16. Kemudian terakhir di lokasi LIPI, pada betina diperoleh 0,64 ± 1,12 dan pada jantan 0,50 ± ,69. Tingkat Kematangan Gonad  dikelompookan dalam tiga kategori yakni gonad muda, matang dan salin, dengan prosentasi masing-masing 25 % idividu gonad muda, 20% gonad matang, dan 55% gonad salin. Indeks kematangan gonad pada setiap kategori kematangan gonad  adalah gonad muda 0,23, matang 2,16 dan salin 0,27.  Fekunditas “Ovarian fecundity“ adalah sebanya 30±11 butir telur, dan fekunditas “Brooding fecundity“ adalah 48±16 butir telur.Kata kunci: Pterapogon kauderni, Nisbah Kelamin, Kematangan Gonad, Fekunditas
