Abstract

Prospective teacher students must have good science process skills to create learning that focuses on science process skills-based learning. This study aims to describe the comparison of the basic science process skills of prospective elementary school teachers in electric subjects. This research is descriptive. The sample of this study was 184 students consisting of 104 students in the 4th semester and 80 students in the 6th semester. The data collection technique was using a test that consists of 25 questions about basic science process skills. Data analysis using the Wright Person Map in Rasch Model. Based on the results, the researcher obtained information that most prospective elementary teachers' science process skills were classified as moderate. In addition, the results were obtained that the science process skills of 6th-semester students were better than the 4th semester. This research also found that the science process skill of female students was better than male students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine Android-based physics learning media (ABLM) with developed Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning. This research uses R&D research. The research steps were guided by the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The research data were obtained through the product feasibility assessment of expert validators (media experts and material experts) and questionnaire responses from class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Tempilang. Collecting research data using validation sheets and questionnaires. Data collected using descriptive analysis. The results of product feasibility by media experts with an average score of 3.72, product feasibility by material experts of 3.76, and student response results of 3.64. The results of expert validation analysis and student responses were in the "Very Good" category. The ABLM media with PBL learning was declared feasible and suitable for learning physics.

Abstract

Electrical circuit components or electronic circuits can be connected with series and parallel circuits. The arrangement of the circuit can affect the desired lamp characteristics. This study aims to measure the magnitude of resistance in an electrical circuit, analyze the flame of a series and parallel resistance, explore the relationship between voltage (V) with current (I) in series and parallel circuits. The method research used quantitative methods based on the problem-solving laboratory. The laboratory equipment used consists of a battery, incandescent lamps, resistors, stacking and zinc puzzles, multimeters, jumper cables. The laboratory equipment assembled and measured the intensity of the light produced using the physics toolbox application on a handphone. The data has obtained, then presented in a table and calculated using a formula, and analyzed the uncertainty in its measurement. The result showed the intensity of light in a series of different magnitude, the power of the light was more significant in lamp one, and in lamp two, the power was smaller. The intensity of the light in the parallel circuit was the same magnitude. Still, the value of the light intensity in the parallel circuit was smaller than the intensity in the lamps arranged in series. The relationship between voltage (V) and current (I) in both series and parallel circuits was comparable and directly proportional. Thus, the developed series of electric puzzles can adequately explain Ohm’s law. Ohm’s law learning with electric puzzles can be used in school and learned by students quickly.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using a web-based assessment on students’ conceptual understanding of equilibrium and rotation dynamics. The method of collecting data using a quasi-experimental design with an experimental procedure is One-Group-Pretest-Posttest Design. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical calculations in pretest, posttest, and N-gain scores. Besides, using different test paired sample t-test, effect size, and g-factor. The results other the pair results ed-sample t test showed-test the use of web-based assessment had a very large effect on students’ mastery of concepts as indicated by the difference in the pretest and posttest scores. With the g-factor, there is the effectiveness of learning using a web-based assessment, and there is an increase in scores due to treatment, and students’ initial ability does not influence it. With a correlation test for pretest and N-gain scores and a correlation test for pretest and posttest scores, web-based assessment effectively facilitates all students.

Abstract

This study aims to disclose how virtual reality technology has been applied to studies of learning and the possibility of virtual reality by reviewing studies that have employed the virtual reality approach. A total of 15 papers were selected from the Scopus Index database from 2015 to 2020. Content analysis showed that virtual reality and physics learning had received the most attention under the theme of student perception, especially in self-efficacy and experience, followed by satisfaction, motivation, and engagement. Trends of research development show that the use of virtual reality has proliferated recently. Moreover, HTC Vive is the most powerful device to conduct the VR study for the tool device. This study concludes that virtual reality technology provides a promising media for educational researchers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Levels of Inquiry-Interactive Demonstration on students' critical thinking ability at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This research is a quasi-experimental type with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample was taken using a cluster sampling technique. The sample consisted of the experimental class (PGMI A) composed of 41 students using the Inquiry-Interactive Demonstration model. The control class (PGMI B) was composed of 41 students using conventional learning models lecture and assignment methods. The data collection technique used was a test through quizizz, google form, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics which were, preceded by a normality test. Hypothesis testing using the T-test. The results showed that the pretest-posttest mean score increased, namely the pre-test 68.49 and the post-test 85.27 with Tcount 11.95 > Ttable 2.023. Then the results of the sig value. 0.000 < 0.05 means that using the Inquiry-Interactive Demonstration model has a significant effect on students' critical thinking abilities on the topic of waves and sound.
