Abstract

Tourist areas have a significant role in several aspects including economic, social and environmental. The national park has a considerable potential in the aspect of tourism. In addition to having mega biodiversity, the Cenderawasih Bay National Park (TNTC) also has a strong special attraction in term of whale shark, available year-round. Therefore, foreign tourism potential at TNTC is very high and much in demand by both local and foreign tourists. By processing visitation data, we were able to obtain trend and potentials in supporting the carrying capacity of whale shark tourism areas. Through these data, the estimated number of visitors in 2020 at TNTC was also obtained. Data were performed by country grouping and quantified the number of tourists visiting TNTC. By determining the number of foreign visitors, it was found out the intensity of the visit of each country and also countries which are targeted for TNTC’s future promotions. Countries with high intensity visit are suitable for future promotion targets including Australia, USA, UK, Germany and Switzerland.

Abstract

This study combined Hydrilla verticillata with Ceratophyllum demersum as a filter in the recirculation system of Tilapia aquaculture. The research objective was to determine the growth rate of tilapia in the recirculation system culture. The filtration used in the recirculation system was H. verticillata and C. demersum. The research method used a completely randomized design (CRD). The parameters observed were fish survival, absolute growth, specific growth rate (SGR), Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) and water quality. The survival of the fish survived the maintenance of 100%. Individual absolute weight growth ranged from 8.76 to 16.6 g / week. The specific growth rates of tilapia ranged from 2.74 to 4.49%. The FCR value is very good, namely 1.2 and the average temperature, pH and DO values are still in the proper range for the growth of tilapia. During maintenance, only one water change is carried out. Cultivation of the recirculation system is very effective and efficient to apply, especially in areas with limited water availability.

Abstract

Microplastic is plastic waste that has a small size of less than 5 mm. Microplastic itself has a dangerous impact due to the nature of plastic which is difficult to decompose. The purpose of this study is to determine the shape, average number and highest weight, total amount, type of microplastic polymer and comparison between sizes of Anadara granosa in locations near mangroves, river estuaries and settlements in the waters of Kwanyar Bangkalan, Madura. Microplastic analysis of Anadara granosa samples was carried out using a 10% KOH solution as much as 3x the weight of the sample. Identification of microplastics in all samples to determine their shape using a stereo microscope, followed by counting the number and weight. The predominant form of microplastic is fiber. The highest average number of microplastics in Anadara granosa was found at location near the mangrove ecosystem, namely 23.9 particles / individual at <3 cm in size and 26.8 particles / individual for shells >3 cm in size. There was a significant difference in the number of microplastics at different sizes of shells. The types of red, black and blue fiber polymers are Poly (Ethylene Terephthalate), blue film is Polypropylene and blue fragment is Poly(Ethylene Terephthalate).

Abstract

The thyroxine hormone is a hormone that can reduce high mortality and increase fish growth. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of long immersion time in the thyroxine hormone solution and a good time to increase hatching rate, growth and survival rate of Gourami larvae. The method used was a laboratory experiment with a completely randomized design. Treatment of egg immersion time in thyroxine hormone solution with a dose of 0.1 mg / L, namely 0, 8, 16, 24 and 32 hours. Each treatment was carried out three replications. The results of the study indicated that the immersion time did not affect hatching rate, but it did affect the length growth and survival of gourami larvae (O. gouramy). The good immersion time is 16-24 hours with hatching rate values 97.67-99.00%, absolute length growth of 6.50-6.92 mm, relative length growth of 4.93-5.25%, and survival rate of 91.26-92.15%.
