Abstract

The treatment-seeking behavior of tuberculosis patients is an important component of tuberculosis control interventions. The author undertakes a systematic review by identifying, evaluating, and interpreting the findings of similar studies to determine socio-cultural factors affecting tuberculosis patients' treatment seeking behavior. This study employs meta-synthesis of qualitative method. The researcher search articles using keywords in the databases of Proquest, Ebsco, ScienceDirect, and Springerlink yielded results (n = 111,665). Furthermore, the screening, feasibility, and selection processes were carried out in the population of tuberculosis patients based on inclusion criteria such as complete scientific articles with qualitative research designs, including socio-cultural aspects influencing tuberculosis treatment seeking behavior which published in 2016 to 2021. As a result, there are 9 research publications which eligible for systematic review and meet the criteria. Socio-cultural factors of treatment seeking behavior of tuberculosis patients include factors of knowledge, awareness, belief, economic ability, facilities access and health facilities infrastructure, communication and family support, perceptions related to poverty, social and cultural stigma of seeking alternative medicine. Socio-cultural factors can be investigated and used as inputs in subsequent qualitative and quantitative research tailored to the characteristics and socio-cultural patterns found in Indonesia's tuberculosis patient population. Keywords: socio-cultural factors; health seeking behavior; tuberculosis

Abstract

Sempu Health Center in Banyuwangi is a health center that has been able to innovate in order to overcome maternal mortality. Increased case of maternal mortality in 2010 to 2012 prompted the head of Sempu Health Center to innovate with SAKINA program. This program has succeeded in reducing maternal mortality to zero. This study aims to get an overview from the implementation of SAKINA program in reducing the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Sempu Health Center area. This research used a qualitative case study. The informants in this study were 15 people from both health officers and public who were involved in the activities of the SAKINA program. Based on the results of the research, the SAKINA program is an activity that aims to stop the Maternal and Child Mortality Rate, the innovation is carried out by forming Laskar SAKINA, which is a community assigned with assisting high-risk pregnant women during the pregnancy period. Pregnant women hunters come from vegetable sellers (Mlijo) who are tasked with finding pregnant women in each village within their sales route. In addition, there is a Shelter House which is used to wait for birth in remote areas. The SAKINA program is a form of innovation for increasing community participation in reducing maternal and child mortality. Keywords: MMR; health center; SAKINA; innovative program

Abstract

Introduction: Relapse in post orthodontic treatment is common in the community because resorption in the pressure side occurs excessively due to teeth being moved with an orthodontic device. Excessive resorption can be inhibited by using NaF which has been shown to inhibit osteoclast activity, thereby reducing osteoclast numbers. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of NaF administration on IL-1β and TNF-α expression of osteoclast in orthodontic teeth movement. Methods: Animal model using 16 male Wistar rats given orthodontic force using NiTi closed coil spring adjusted to give 10 grams/cm2 of mechanical strength, were applied to the palatal in the maxillary incisors of the Wistar rat teeth. Rats were divided into two groups, the control group (C group) and treatment group (T group) given topical NaF application (11.75 ppm). Immunohistochemical examination was performed to calculate IL-1β and TNF-α expression on osteoclasts on the 7th day and 14th day. Results: The administration of NaF reduces IL-1β and TNF-α osteoclast’s expression both on the 7th day (p

Abstract

One method used in the multiple linear regression model is the best subset using Cp Mallows statistics. The best subset begins by combining independent variables to describe the dependent variable. Select a combination with a high coefficient of determination and a low Cp value. The purpose of this study was to apply the best subset method of Cp Mallows statistics to obtain multiple linear regression models of factors that affect life expectancy. This survey was a secondary data survey using data from Health Profiles published in 2016 in East Java. Data from 38 cities with dependent variables were life expectancy and independent variables such as diarrhea prevalence, dengue prevalence, healthy homes, clean and healthy living behavior, and average school hours. The results showed that the coefficient of determination was 69.7% and the Cp value was 3.9 for the three combinations of diarrhea prevalence, healthy family, and average school hours.  Keywords: life expectancy; subset best method; regression; Cp Mallows

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of NaF administration on IL-1β and TNF-α expression of osteoclast in orthodontic teeth movement. The research used experimental-quantitative research type applying Randomized Posttest Only Control Group Design, by selecting the experimental group and the control group randomly. Animal model using 16 male Wistar rats given orthodontic force using NiTi closed coil spring adjusted to give 10 grams/cm2 of mechanical strength, were applied to the palatal in the maxillary incisors of the Wistar rat teeth. Rats were divided into two groups, the control group (C group) and treatment group (T group) given topical NaF application (11.75 ppm). Immunohistochemical examination was performed to calculate IL-1β and TNF-α expression on osteoclasts on the 7th day and 14th day. The administration of NaF reduces IL-1β and TNF-α osteoclast’s expression both on the 7th day (p <0.05) and 14th day (p <0.05). Data were tested by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Levene test and the difference tested Annova followed by LSD (p <0.05). Topical administration of NaF application to the gingival sulcus of male Wistar rats in orthodontic tooth movement can reduce the number of osteoclasts that express IL-1β in the alveolar bone in the pressure area. Topical administration of NaF application to the gingival sulcus of male Wistar rats in orthodontic tooth movement can reduce the number of osteoclasts that express TNF-α in the alveolar bone in the pressure region. Decreased number of osteoclasts expressing IL-1β and TNF-α significantly occurred on the 7th day and 14th day. Keywords: IL-1β; TNF-α; NaF; osteoclast; orthodontic teeth movement
