Abstract

ABSTRACTMaternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in East Java was still high. in 2013, MMR in sidoarjo district has readed 96.27 per 100,000 live birth. This aim of this study was to the effect of the referral process to maternal mortality in RSUD Sidoarjo. This research was analytic observational with case control design. The Samples of this study were 25 pregnant women who were referred to RSUD Sidoarjo and death. The case controls were 50 pregnant women who were referred to RSUD Sidoarjo who did not experience death. Techniques of data collection using secondary data from the register book maternal and neonatal Emergency (MNE) and medical records and interviews with the mother/family/husband of respondents. The data was analyzed by using univariable, bivariable and multivariable analysis with logistic regression. The results of this study confirmed that the referral process was poor (OR=9,783,95% CI: 2,275 to 42,072, p=0,002) and the complications (OR=0,005,95%CI: 0,001-0,057, p=0,000).thus, the incidence maternal mortality increased. The conclusion of this study is the referral process and the complications to maternal mortality affect the occurrence of maternal mortality. Midwives need to conduct health education should be given to women in their productive age, increase the participation of families, communities and cadres in the process of early detection of complications during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum, the quality of antenatal care (ANC) and the quality of referrals should be improved by creating a close referral system in a region associated with a high risk pregnant women were detected inventoried and scheduled control/termination and monitored (follow-up) so that high risk always monitored. Keywords: maternal mortality, referral process, complications

Abstract

Classification and Regression Tree (CART) was a method of Machine Learning where data exploration was done by decision tree technique. CART was a classification technique with binary recursive reconciliation algorithms where the sorting was performed on a group of data collected in a space called a node / node into two child nodes (Lewis, 2000). The aim of this study was to predict family participation in Elderly Family Development program based on family behavior in providing physical, mental, social care for the elderly. Family involvement accuracy using Bagging CART method was calculated based on 1-APER value, sensitivity, specificity, and G-Means. Based on CART method, classification accuracy was obtained 97,41% with Apparent Error Rate value 2,59%. The most important determinant of family behavior as a sorter was society participation (100,00000), medical examination (98,95988), providing nutritious food (68.60476), establishing communication (67,19877) and worship (57,36587). To improved the stability and accuracy of CART prediction, used CART Bootstrap Aggregating (Bagging) with 100% accuracy result. Bagging CART classifies a total of 590 families (84.77%) were appropriately classified into implement elderly Family Development program class.

Abstract

Micronutrients deficiency is prevalent among women in reproductive age, particularly in developing countries, including in Indonesia.  Small body size reflects a chronic deficiency of nutrients intake. Both of those problems may correlate each other and making maternal nutrition more complicated. Brides-to be are the most important group of women in reproductive age who require better recognition, because they will become mothers. This study was to describe inter-correlation among anthropometric indices which reflected the maternal body size and several indicators of micronutrient status. A cross sectional study was conducted in selected sub-districts of Probolinggo District, East Java Province year 2012. The samples size of 115 brides-to be were randomly selected from list of brides-to be in Sub-district Office of Religious Affair. The observed variables were body weight, height, body mass index (BMI), mid upper arms circumference (MUAC), micronutrients status including concentration of hemoglobin, serum ferritin, serum retinol and serum zinc. Pearson correlation test was used to analyze data using SPSS for Window version 13.0. Result showed that the average of body weight was 47,3 kg, average stature was 150,4 cm, BMI was 20, MUAC was 25,3 cm. The average of hemoglobin level was 12,4 g/dL, serum ferritin was 50,6 µg/L, serum retinol level was 1,06 µmol/L, and serum Zn level was 12,9 µmol/L. Statistical analisis showed significant correlation between the body weight and hemoglobin concentration (r =0,25, p = 0,01) and serum retinol (r = 0,21, p = 0,03); between BMI and hemoglobin concentration (r = 0,31, p = 0,00) and serum ferritin (r = 0,23, p = 0,03), and serum retinol (r = 0,21, p = 0,02); between MUAC and hemoglobin (r = 0,32, p = 0,00) and serum retinol (r = 0,24, p = 0,02);  between hemoglobin concentration and serum ferritin concentration (r = 0,30, p = 0,00). Stature did not correlate with any indicators of micronutrient. It implies that among the indices of body size, body weight and BMI as well as MUAC are important indicators relating to iron status, and vitamin A status, but not zinc status.

Abstract

One method used in the multiple linear regression model is the best subset using Cp Mallows statistics. The best subset begins by combining independent variables to describe the dependent variable. Select a combination with a high coefficient of determination and a low Cp value. The purpose of this study was to apply the best subset method of Cp Mallows statistics to obtain multiple linear regression models of factors that affect life expectancy. This survey was a secondary data survey using data from Health Profiles published in 2016 in East Java. Data from 38 cities with dependent variables were life expectancy and independent variables such as diarrhea prevalence, dengue prevalence, healthy homes, clean and healthy living behavior, and average school hours. The results showed that the coefficient of determination was 69.7% and the Cp value was 3.9 for the three combinations of diarrhea prevalence, healthy family, and average school hours.  Keywords: life expectancy; subset best method; regression; Cp Mallows

Abstract

Toxoplasmosis is a zoonotic diseases caused by Toxoplasma gondii, which spread out by cats and it can be found in fowl. It because the fowl swallowing food which had been infected byToxoplasma gondii oocyst. The most consumpted fowl is chicken. The source of data and agriculture information center showed that consumption of chicken was increased about 10,20%. It could be a potential increasement of Toxoplasma gondii infection. The objective of this research was indentificate the infection of  Toxoplasma gondii cyst on ras chicken brain. The type of this research was a descriptive research, observe by examining 30 samples of the ras chicken brain by randomized sampling techniques. Based on research on 30 samples of the ras chicken brain, obtained positive results as much as 2 samples (6.6%) cyst infected of Toxoplasma gondii and others 28 samples of ras chicken brain (93.4%) were not infected with Toxoplasma gondii cysts. Positive results of Toxoplasma gondii can be caused due to maintenance system and cleanliness of chicken coop was much less, so there were carrier vectors contaminate to feed place, so there was a potential infection of Toxoplasmosis. It can be concluded that been 2 samples of chicken brain being infected cyst of Toxoplasma gondii or about 6,6% and there were 28 samples or 93,4% of chicken brain that were not infected by cyst of Toxoplasma gondii. Infection circle of Toxoplasmosis can be avoided by manage maintenance system of chicken and keep the cage cleamliness, also keep the personal hygiene and feeds.
