Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine the contribution of Indonesian Corruption Watch (ICW) and the Indonesian Procurement Association or Ikatan Ahli Pengadaaan Indonesia (IAPI) as non-profit organizations to increase the transparency in the public organizations' budgets utilization especially in the procurement of goods and services. In collaboration with the Non-Ministry Government Institutions (LPNK) in Indonesia called the Lembaga Kebijakan Pengadaan Barang/Jasa Pemerintah (LKPP), these non-profit organizations developed "opentender.net" websites to empower the public in monitoring and controlling public procurement by assessing the possibility of corruption. After explaining the background of non-profit contributions, we evaluate the contributions of the ICW and IAPI by using exploratory design to explore the shortcomings of the "opentender.net" website. The result shows that the website could not provide three information details namely the estimated price created by the tender bidders or Harga Perkiraan Sendiri (HPS), the exact amount of value stated in the contract and the market cost. Thus, it hampering the provision of evidence to provide reliable and valid proof of the corruption possibilities.

Abstract

Insurance is a form of agreement between the insurer against the insured party (insurance company), where the insurer will pay a premium to the insured every month as a form of collateral for loss or damage that befalls him for certain events. Researchers took data by distributing questionnaires to respondents. Some covariate variables used in the study include: gender, vehicle age, vehicle insurance costs, vehicle use, vehicle mileage every year, and claims records in the last three years. Meanwhile, the dependent variable is frequency claim and claim severity. The researcher estimates the Generalized Linear Models (GLZ) parameters using the maximum likelihood estimation (MLE). The next step, researchers conducted a model compatibility test on the dependent variable using calculations on the Akaike Information Criteria (AIC), where the model chosen was the model with the lowest AIC value. Based on this, the researcher can determine covariate variables that affect the dependent variable and model it. The final step is the researcher calculates the probability of claim frequency, claim severity, and estimates the amount of pure premiums charged to respondents.

Abstract

Purpose- The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of risk management implementation on the firm’s value in the banking industry which is listed on the Indonesian stock exchange in the period 2015- 2019. Design/methodology/approach- Risk management implementation is quantified by three models. In the First Model, financial ratios such as net interest margin to total assets (NETIM), non-interest margin to total assets (NONIM), provision for impairment loss to total assets (prov), and capital adequacy ratio (CAR) are used to quantify the risk management Variable. In the second model, we use the average (AVG) of all the ratios above. In the third model, we use the principal component analysis (PCA) value from all the ratios above to quantify the overall risk management implementation of the banks. Findings- The result shows that each model of risk management implementation has a different output. In the first model, NONIM has a significantly positive effect and CAR has a significantly negative effect on firms’ value on the banking industry.
