Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) Mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis ikan di kepulauan kangean; (2) Membuat bentuk bahan ajar sebagai sumber belajar  biologi dari hasil penelitian keanekaragaman jenis ikan di kepulauan kangean. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Subyek pada penelitian ini adalah tokoh masyarakat atau nelayan pulau kangean yang memiliki pengetahuan  tentang ikan. Sedangkan obyek dari penelitian ini adalah keanekaragaman jenis ikan yang ada di pulau kangean. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan menentukan macam, jumlah dan indeks keanekaragaman jenis ikan. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) terdapat 36 jenis ikan; (2) jumlah 1.072 ekor ikan; dan (3)  indeks keanekaragaman pada plot 1 yaitu pasar ikan desa arjasa memiliki tingkat keanekaragaman sedang sebesar (2,9224), indeks keanekaragaman pada plot 2 yaitu pasar ikan desa kangayan tingkat keanekaragamannya sedang sebesar (2,6363). Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata keanekaragaman jenis ikan secara keseluruhan 36 jenis yaitu (2,7793) yang termasuk kedalam kategori keanekaragaman sedang; Bahan ajar yang dibuat dari penelitian ini berupa buku pengayaan keanekaragaman jenis ikan (class pisces).

Abstract

ABSTRACT House flies (Musca domestica) are vectors or mechanical transmitters of various infectious diseases through their body parts. The use of chemical insecticides to control houseflies has harmful effects on non-target insects, as well as exposure to humans and the environment. The use of insecticides made from natural ingredients is a solution to overcome the use of synthetic chemical insecticides. Papaya (Carica papaya) is a plant that is easy to grow and contains flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, saponins, papain, calpain, and a number of other secondary metabolic compounds that are anti-mycoorganisms and parasites. This type of experimental research with a post test only group design aims to test the effect of papaya leaf extract on house fly activity. There are 3 treatments, namely P1 (papaya leaf extract), P2 (aquades) and P3 (branded liquid mosquito repellent). Each treatment was repeated 6 times. The research sample was 104 house flies. The results of the Mann Whitney test showed that there was a very significant difference (p<0.01) in the number (presentation) of houseflies that experienced changes in normal activity to abnormal ones between the administration of papaya leaf extract (72%) and the negative control using distilled water (0%). Meanwhile, administering branded liquid mosquito repellent provides 100% of the effect of flies experiencing abnormal activity. Thus, papaya leaf extract has been proven to have potential as a house fly repellent, although the effect is not as great as branded liquid mosquito repellent (p<0.05). Abstract

Ferns or Pteridophyta, are a group of vascular plants that play a significant role in ecosystems, particularly as plants that grow attached to other surfaces and as ground cover in various habitats. Although urban areas are often considered unfavorable for biodiversity, they can still serve as suitable habitats for ferns, provided there are host trees and humid microclimatic conditions. This study was conducted at the Kisaran City Square Park in Asahan Regency, North Sumatra Province, in May 2026. The research aimed to identify fern species, describe their morphological characteristics, and analyze their adaptations and ecological roles. Observations were carried out using an exploratory method across three stations representing different levels of shading: heavily shaded, semi-open, and relatively open. The study identified eight fern species, comprising seven epiphytic species and one terrestrial species. These species include Asplenium nidus, Drynaria quercifolia, Pyrrosia piloselloides, Pyrrosia lanceolata, Davallia denticulata, Nephrolepis cordifolia, Asplenium polyodon, and Marsilea crenata. The presence of large host trees was the primary factor influencing fern diversity in the area, as evidenced by the dominance of epiphytic species. These findings highlight the crucial role of urban green spaces in maintaining biodiversity and provide a reference for sustainable vegetation management in city parks.
