Fish Tambakan (H. temmincki. CV) is one of the freshwater fish species from the tropics, precisely Southeast Asia. Currently the presence of fish gouramis (H. temmincki. CV) already scarce, and threatened that should be preserved. One effort that can be done to preserve this fish is through cultivation, Density is closely related to the production and the expected growth rate of fish. Activities carried out for 5 months, in hectery Fish Seed Center (BBI) Tempino, District Mestong, Kabupten Muaro. Test fish are fish larvae Tambakan (H. temmincki. CV) of 71 400 individuals. The container used is aquarium measuring 42.5 x 40 x 40 cm, with a height of 10 cm of water as much as 12 aquariums. This research is a design environment completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 Deuteronomy. The results of this study to the best stocking density is treatment A (200 individuals / liter) which resulted in the percentage of survival of the highest of 86.21%., Average length and weight growth - average yield growth of average length - average 1.50 cm / tail and average weight - average 0159 g / tail and average daily growth - average 0.00396 grams / tail.Keywords: Kissing gourami (Hellostoma temmincki. Perception is an opinion, opinions, or perceptions of an event or phenomenon. The quality of a service that can be seen of how stakeholders or customers perceive the service. Professionalism is one form of service to stakeholders or customers. This study aimed to describe the students' perceptions of professionalism lecturer English Language Study Program Guidance and Counseling, University of Buffalo. To achieve this goal a questionnaire was distributed to 40 students (20% of the population). There are five aspects of the professionalism observed, namely: the ability to speak English, mastering the course material, teaching skills, work commitments, and breadth of vision. To analyze the data using a simple tabulation techniques. From the results of data analysis found that, as perceived by students, faculty English Language Study Program Guidance and Counseling, University of Buffalo has a high level of professionalism.Keyword : perception, professionalism, English education

Research conducted at the Faculty of Animal Reproduction Laboratory Animal Edinburgh University, on May 8 through June 15, 2014. The material used is 30 straw frozen semen from the male dairy cows BIB Lembang. Materials and tools used are thermometer, microscope, glass objects, cover glass, container of liquid nitrogen gas, water bath, micropipette, stop watch, scissors, tissue rolls.The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments (P1, P2, P3, P4) and 6 replicates, The treatment is P1: room temperature 60 seconds, P2: Temperature 37 ° C for 30 seconds, P3: temperature of 50 ° C for 12 seconds and P4 temperatures of 70 ° C for 8 seconds.From the research shows that the thawing of frozen semen FH cows at room temperature for 60 seconds and 37 ° C for 30 seconds produces better sperm motility than other treatments, so that the lower the level of decline compared with the results obtained lower motility, the rate higher losses.Based on the results of this study concluded that long and thawing temperatures affect sperm motility, motility best is at 37 ° C for 30 seconds and room temperature for 60 seconds.Keyword : spermatozoa, dairy cows, thawing method

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penggunaan Contextual Guessing Technique untuk meningkatkan pemahaman membaca mahasiswa. Masalah pada penelitian ini adalah ‘Bagaimana Contextual Guessing Technique meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pada mahasiswa semester empat Universitas Batanghari-Jambi tahun ajaran 2013/2014?’. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester II/A yang terdiri dari 30 orang mahasiswa. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang diadakan dalam tiga siklus. Data pada penelitian ini diperoleh dari tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Persentase nilai rata-rata siswa tes awal adalah 49.2% dan pada tes akhir adalah 72%. Peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa dari tes awal ke tes akhir adalah 22.8%. Dengan ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa Contextual Guessing Technique dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca mahasiswa semester dua di Universitas Batanghari-Jambi tahun ajaran 2013/2014.Kata kunci : reading comprehension, contextual guessing technique

This experiment aims to determine the effect of the combination of palm oil waste residue / Palm Kernel Meal (PKM) and pulp out as a growth medium for the cultivation and production of maggot (Hermetia illucens) which can be used as an alternative to fish feed. Media culture is a combination of material experiments 4 kg PKM (100%) and pulp out (0%) treatment A, 3 kg PKM (75%) and 1 kg pulp out (25%) treatment B, 2 kg PKM (50%) and 2 kg of pulp out (50%) treatment C, and 1 kg of PKM (25%) and 3 kg of pulp out (75%) treated D. All of these treatments using a container closed the outdoors. Each container treatment added as much as 5.2 liters of fresh water, then stirred evenly. Data were analyzed by ANOVA and LSD test.The results of the analysis of the experiment 21 days for growth are not significantly different (P <0.05). The average value of the best treatment in A (weight 0.18 ± 0.68 g/individul and length 17.26 ± 1.06 mm), followed by treatment B. (weight 0.17 ± 0.68 g/individual and length of 17.07 ± 1.06 mm), C (weight 0.17 ± 0.68 g/individual and 17.04 ± 1.06 mm of length) and the lowest in the D (0.16 ± 0.68 g/individual and 16.98 ± 1.06 mm). While the yield significantly different (P <0.05), the best biomass production of 1.66 ± 0.1/kg for A, in the lowest treatment 0.57±0.13/kg inD.Keywords: organic materials and cultivation maggot

Higher Education is a quality university that is able to carry out his duty to improve the quality, roles and responsibilities in education so that universities not only is the container for the print title only undergraduate, but a container to produce graduates who are able to master and apply the disciplines acquired. In essence University of Batanghari was established to develop and nurture science and technology as well as a part of the body in an attempt to complete the formation of the Indonesian people, because it is a system of education tailored to the real needs of the development of Indonesia. The question is how much influence the product, price, place, promotion set by the University of Batanghari the student's decision in choosing the University of Batang, and where the factor of the variable product, price, place and promotion are the most influencing prospective students choose Faculty of Economics, University of Batanghari.The study results revealed that the pricing strategy for the product, price, place and promotion that has been established by the University of Batang greatly affect the prospective student choose the Faculty of Economics and when examined separately, the biggest variable affecting the decision of selecting students of the Faculty of Economics is a variable product, then other variables influence is a variable and variable promotion. As for the price variable is not significant to the decision of the students chose Faculty of Economics University of Batanghari.Keywords: product, price, place, promotion

During storage, areca seed may be attacked by pest. These pests will eat areca seed by perforating it, then ultimately cause the level of quantity and quality decrease. One variety of the pest that attack areca seed called Lasioderma serricorne. To control the pest on areca seed can be done by Fumigation : The Fumigation which should be done in this case is Phospine (PH3). The purpose the experiment is to find out the response of Lasioderma serricorne that is given Phospine in tablet and bags form on areca seed, Which is done by using Competly Randomized Design (CRD) with on factor of Fumigation, Phospine, consist of seven levels of treatment. The conclution is, there is no difference of giving phospine tablet and bags toward the behavior and mortality of Lasioderma serricorne , and fumigation of areca seed in low dosage, 0.25 grams/0.816 m3 or equivalent of 3 grams/m3 has been very effectif for destroying Lasioderma serricorneKey Word : Pest , Lasioderma serricorne , Phospine

This study aims to find out about: 1) the effect of the approach Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) on the effectiveness of student learning in mathematics class VII SMP N 8 Jambi, 2) the effect of the concentration of study on the effectiveness of student learning in mathematics class VII SMP N 8 city of Jambi, 3) the effect of the approach Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) and the concentration of study on the effectiveness of student learning in mathematics class VII SMP N 8 city of Jambi. This research is experimental research with pretest-posttest design Control Group Design.The population in this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Jambi City 2013/2014 academic year consists of class VIIA, VIIB, VIIC, VIID, VIIE, VIIF, VIIG, VIIH. Sampling using random sampling while the sample drawn is VIID and VIIG class. Data collection tool achievement test shaped in the form of essays, while the test concentrations studied by using a questionnaire (questionnaire).The results of the study are: 1) There is the effect of the CTL approach to effective student learning in mathematics, where before treatment the average results of the experiment class pretest was 39.97 with a standard deviation of 10.01, after a given treatment using CTL approach mean average posttest in the experimental class was 74.13 with a standard deviation of 8.31, 2) there is a concentration effect study of the effectiveness of student learning in mathematics, the higher the concentration the higher learning learning outcomes obtained, and 3) there are significant CTL approach and the concentration of study on the effectiveness of student learning in mathematics because tcount> ttable ie 3.60> 1.67Keywords: CTL approach, Concentration Learning and Effectiveness Study
