Abstract

Perception is an opinion, opinions, or perceptions of an event or phenomenon. The quality of a service that can be seen of how stakeholders or customers perceive the service. Professionalism is one form of service to stakeholders or customers. This study aimed to describe the students' perceptions of professionalism lecturer English Language Study Program Guidance and Counseling, University of Buffalo. To achieve this goal a questionnaire was distributed to 40 students (20% of the population). There are five aspects of the professionalism observed, namely: the ability to speak English, mastering the course material, teaching skills, work commitments, and breadth of vision. To analyze the data using a simple tabulation techniques. From the results of data analysis found that, as perceived by students, faculty English Language Study Program Guidance and Counseling, University of Buffalo has a high level of professionalism.Keyword : perception, professionalism, English education

Abstract

Today education is considered as an investment. Hence, parents are very selective in choosing schools for their children. In response with this public attitude, our government i.e. Ministry of Education has issued Regulation No 63 Year 2009 on education quality assurance system to show its high commitment to improving quality of education. This research aims at investigating how education quality assurance system is implemented in SMA N 3 Kota Jambi. The method applied is descriptive-qualitative. Data is collected through interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis shows that 1) SMA N 3 Kota Jambi implements quality assurance. 2) There are three kinds of quality assurance system implemented in SMA N 3 Kota Jambi – a. Internal quality assurance system, b. External quality assurance, and c. Top-down quality assurance, 3) the system of quality assurance in SMA N 3 Kota Jambi is unsystematic and unplanned, 4) the system of quality assurance in SMA N 3 Kota Jambi is not under a certain unit but run by headmaster and vice-headmasters, 5) Quality assurance in SMA N 3 Kota Jambi mainly relies on external assurance i.e BAN-S/M, 6) Implementation of quality assurance in SMA N 3 Kota Jambi face problems such as teachers’ unawareness of importance of quality culture and lack of authority of school administrator in impplementing quality management. Based on these findings, it is suggested that 1) there is a need for SMA N 3 Kota Jambi to implement quality assurance under a certain operational unit, 2) there is a need for school administrators to be more empowered by implementing school-based management, 3) there is a need for teachers and administrative staff to be educated about importance of quality culture.Keywords: Quality, Quality assurance,  Education quality assurance system

Abstract

Many factors affect the relationship of management and performance both in the context of profit and non-profit organization. One of the factors is culture. Researches have shown that culture may mediate or moderate the relationship. This current research investigates the moderating role of culture on the relationship of performance management and working performance of lecturers of Batanghari University. For this, a survey was conducted by distributing a questionnaire to 36 respondents randomly selected. MRA (moderated regression analysis) was used to analyze the data. The simple regression analysis (before culture added) found that performance management practices have a significant effect on lecturer performance with 67.5% of determinant coefficient. MRA analysis (after culture added), the determinant coefficient becomes 69%, meaning there is an increase of 1.5%. F-test shows that Sig. = 0.000 is smaller than ? = 0.05, indicating that the increase is considered significant. From this analysis, it can be concluded that culture significantly moderates performance of lecturers. Then, it is suggested that culture need to be strengthened in order to improve the relationship of performance management practices and performance of lecturers.

Abstract

It is believed that managerial skills of a leader significantly affect the motivation of employees. This research aims at finding whether or not deans’ managerial skills of Pedagogics Faculty (X1), Economics Faculty (X2), Law Faculty (X3), Engeneering Faculty (X4) and Agriculture Faculty (X5) of Batanghari University significantly affect  achievement motivation of leacturers of Pedagogics Faculty (Y1), Economics Faculty (Y2), Law Faculty (Y3), Engeneering Faculty (Y4) and Agriculture Faculty (Y5) of Batanghari University respectively. For this purpose, questionnaire was distributed to 77 respondents who were randomly selected from the five faculties to obtain data. Then, the  data collected was analyzed by using simple correlation analysis of Pearson Product Moment and simple regression analysis. The t-test at the level of 95% was used to test the hypotheses. The result of the analysis shows that 1) X1 is proved not to correlate significantly with Y1. This means that dean’s managerial skills have no affect on lecturers’ achievement motivation in Pedagogics Faculty with contribution of only 5%. This also means that dean’s managerials skills cannot be used to improve lecturers’ achievement motivation in Pedagogics Faculty, 2) X2 is proved not to significantly correlate with Y2. This means that dean’s managerial skills have no affect on lecturers’ achievement motivation in Economics Faculty with contribution of only  14%. This also means that dean’s managerial skills cannot be used to improve lecturers’ achievement motivation in Economics Faculty, 3) X3 is proved no to significantly correlate with Y3. This means that dean’s managerial skills have no affect on lecturers’ achievement motivation in Law Faculty with contribution of only 19%, This also means that dean’s managerial skills cannot be used to improve lecturers’ achievement motivation in Law Faculty, 4) X4 is proved not to significantly correlate with Y4. This means that dean’s managerial skills have no affect on lecturers’ achievement motivation in Engenerring Faculty with contribution of only 1%. This also means that dean’s managerial skills cannot be used to improve lecturers’ achievement motivation in Engeeering Faculty, 5) X5 is proved  to correlate significantly with Y5. This means that dean’s managerial skills have significant  affect on lecturers’ achievement motivation in Agriculture Faculty  with contribution of 56%. This also means that dean’s managerials skills can be used to improve lecturers’ achievement motivation in Agriculture Faculty. Regression analysis shows that Y5 = 0.48 + 0.35(X5). Ini berarti if  dean’s managerial skills of Agricultural Faculty (X5) increases by 1 then lecturers’ achievement motivation of Agriculture Faculty (Y5) will increase by 0.39.Key Words: dean’s managerial skills, lecturer’s achievement motivation

Abstract

Persepsi merupakan pendapat, opini, atau pandangan seseorang terhadap sesuatu, peristiwa atau fenomena. Mutu sebuah pelayanan dapat dilihat dari bagaimana stakeholder atau pelanggan mempersepsikan layanan tersebut. Perguruan Tinggi (PT) merupakan organisasi yang bertujuan memberi pelayanan pendidikan tinggi kepada mahasiswa sebagai pelanggan. Profesionalisme merupakan salah satu wujud pelayanan kepada stakeholder atau pelanggan. Diharapkan dosen sebagai salah satu komponen pelayanan di PT memiliki karakteristik profesionalisme dalam menjalankan tugasnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan 1) bagaimana karakteristik dosen yang professional yang diharapkan mahasiswa, 2) bagaimana persepsi mahasiswa terhadap profesionalisme dosen di FKIP Unbari. Untuk mencapai tujuan ini telah disebarkan angket kepada mahasiswa yang dipilih secara acak dari setiap Prodi yang ada di fakultas ini. Berdasarkan analisis data terdapat tujuh kategori karakteristik dosen professional menurut persepsi mahasiswa. Ketujuh kkategori tersebut adalah: 1). Menguasai materi kuliah, 2). Memiliki komitmen kerja yang tinggi, 3). Terampil melakukan penilaian, 4). Memiliki wawasan yang luas, 5). Terampil menyajikan materi kuliah, 6). Memiliki ‘good rapport’ dengan mahasiswa, dan 7). Memiliki ‘good looking’. Analisi data selanjutnya menunjukkan bahwa responden menilai bahwa dosen-dosen di FKIP Unbari, dengan kriteria yang disebut di atas adalah sangat professional. Diharapkan temuan penelitian ini dapat memberi masukan kepada pengambil kebijakan dan juga dosen-dosen di Universitas Batanghari untuk meningkatkan pelayanan kepada mahasiswa.

Abstract

The implementation of electronic procurement of goods and services (e-procurement) in Indonesia has proven to reduce costs and increase time efficiency. Unfortunately, the level of satisfaction of stakeholders with the Electronic Procurement Service (LPSE) is still lacking. This study was prepared based on the semi-systematic review method because it intends to detect themes, theoretical perspectives, and general problems related to various predictors of satisfaction with LPSE goods/services providers in Indonesia. The practice of e-procurement is considered suitable to be approached by the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) model which then needs to identify two basic beliefs that influence the use of the technology, namely perceived easy use and perceived usefulness. This study also includes the construct of confidence as a good novelty that has the potential as a moderating variable. The contributions/outputs of this study are in the form of a map of the research area, a synthesis of the state of knowledge, and an agenda for further research or a historical review or timeline of the e-procurement topic. The results of the study can be used by subsequent researchers as a research foothold.

Abstract

Pelatihan penyusunan laporan keuangan bagi pelaku Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) adalah salah satu kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan pada pemilik usaha Jamu Gendong “Mbak Eka”. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk menambah wawasan serta kemampuan pelaku UMKM khususnya Jamu Mbak Eka dalam hal penyusunan laporan keuangan tidak hanya dapat dilakukan secara manual namun juga dapat melakukan penyusunan berbasis online yaitu dengan menggunakan aplikasi Qasir yang akan sangat berguna untuk pengembangan usaha yang dijalankan saat ini. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilaksanakan pada Hari Jumat tanggal 05 Juli 2024 di tempat usaha jamu gendong yang beralamat di kelurahan RT 23 Kelurahan Tanjung Pinang, Kecamatan Jambi Timur, Kota Jambi. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan cara presentasi, diskusi dan juga praktek tentang cara yang efektif dalam menyusun laporan keuangan yang dapat diterapkan dalam usaha jamu ini. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pada pelatihan ini dapat terselenggara dengan sangat baik dimana peserta aktif dalam mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan.

Abstract

The Community Service Program entitled "Implementation of the Cultivation of Awareness of the Importance of Soft Skills Entrepreneurship Skills Through the Development of Universitas Batanghari Jambi Students" aims to provide experience for students to care about the development of cooperatives. Schools are expected to be a means for students to learn to run small businesses, develop organizational skills, encourage habits to innovate, learn to solve problems and as a place for students to face the world of work after graduating from school. This Community Service Program will be carried out on Universitas Batanghari Jambi Students. School cooperatives can provide experience for students to care about the development of cooperatives. School cooperatives are expected to be a means for students to learn to run small businesses, develop organizational skills, encourage habits to innovate, learn to solve problems and so on.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the The aim of this research is to know and analyze the impact of employee diversity on job satisfaction in the city relations service.Jambi City Relations Service is a policy in the field of relations in its work territory, technical policy in connection field, administrative implementation includes transportation permits, evaluations and reports related to the field per relationship. Metode penelitian: Dimensions of diversity include religion and tribe while job satisfaction includes the job itself, salary, promotion, supervision, oversight, co-workers and working conditions. Hasil penelitian: The results of SPSS 25 obtained From the Chi-Square Test table asymp sig of 0.776 because of the value of aymp seg 0,776>0,05 it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between religious diversity and the level of satisfaction it can also be understood that a person's religion diversity has no collateral with the satisfaction of the work obtained. Kesimpulan: Also from the Chi-Square table the test looks asymp sig of 0.316 because the asynp value is 0.318>0,05 then it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between tribal diversity with the level of satisfaction it can also be understood that a person’s tribal Diversity has no collera with the degree of work achieved.

Abstract

Kegiatan PKM ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan keluarga Batak kristiani di Kota jambi untuk memahmi gaya kepemimpinan Yesus sebagai model kepemimpinan dalam keluarga. Dengan demikian sasaran dari PKM ini adalah keluarga-keluarga Batak kristiani yang ada di Kota Jambi. Metode yang digunakan dalam PKM ini adalah ceramah dengan tiga Tahap yakni penyampaian materi terkait servant leadership sebagai gaya kepemimpinan Yesus, tanya jawab dan sharing, dan evaluasi. Untuk evaluasi disebarkan dua kuesioner. Kuesioner pertama bertujuan untuk mengukur pemahaman peserta terhadap materi ceramah. Kuesioner kedua bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan gaya kepemimpinan Yesus servant leadership sebagai model kepemimpinan dalam keluarga dan untuk mengetahui kendala-kendala apa saja yang dialami peserta dalam menarapkan gaya kepemimpinan tersebut. Hasil kuesioner pertama menunjukkan bahwa Sebagian besar peserta memahami gaya kepemimpinan Yesus servant leadership sebagai model kepemimpinan dalam keluarga. Sedangkan kuesioner kedua menghasilkan bahwa sebagian besar peserta berusaha menerapkan gaya kepemimpinan Yesus tersebut dalam memimpin keluarga. Namun, mereka mengalami hambatan dalam menerapkannya. Hambatan-hambatan tersebut antara lain adalah sulitnya penerapan teori ke dalam praktek, adanya perbedaan pandangan antara suami dan istri tentang konsep servant leadership, masih kuatnya pengaruh konsep kepemimpinan tradisional.
