Abstract

Cassia tora is one of the most important sources of medicinally important phytochemicals and widely used in Ayurvedic and Chinese system of medicine. The fresh plants of cassia tora were collected from the different locality of Dharan, Sunsari district during the month of August. In this study leaves and root extracts were subjected to extraction by soxheletion by using ethanol and water and the extracts were subjected to antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. and Citrobacter koseri, the ethanolic extracts were screened for antihelmenthic activity against Indian adult earth worm (Pheretima posthuma) with a moderate result. The result of antibacterial activity revealed that aqueous extract of leaves and roots showed better activity in comparison to aqueous extracts particularly against gram positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus).

Abstract

Natural mucilage’s are included in novel drug delivered (NDDS) to multitask functions and in any cases directly or indirectly control the increase and rate of drug release. Substantial research efforts have been directed towards develop safe and efficient natural based mucilage particulate drug delivery systems., natural gums and mucilages and their isolation, purification, standardization and characterization characteristics along with their applications are covered. Recent trend towards the use of plant based and natural products demands the replacement of synthetic additives with natural ones. Today, the whole world is increasingly interested in natural drugs and excipients. These natural mucilages have advantages over synthetic ones since they are chemically inert, nontoxic, less expensive, and widely available.

Abstract

Parkinson’s disease is one of the most common neurodegenerative diseases. The motor system is eventually damaged which affects the voluntary movements in a patient. It leads to the death of vital nerve cells in the brain. Women have lesser prevalence due to the hormone called Estrogen which has been playing a significant role in human body. Most of the treatments focus on the balance of Dopamine in the brain which is done with the help of levodopa but the side effects seen in the patients were mild nausea, loss of appetite, heart burn, diarrhea, and many more. The cause of the disease is still unknown but its occurrence is mainly because of genetic and environmental factors. This review focuses on the combination therapy of levodopa and Carbidopa to treat the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a syndromic condition which is characterized by a set of signs and symptoms like delusions. It is severe non-curable illness of the brain. If not controlled and treated properly, it can lead to severe consequences. One can control these delusions by means of treatment, by using Conventional therapy or Novel therapy. There are various advantages of Novel system over Conventional system. This review focuses on understanding Novel system and its advantages over Conventional system.

Abstract

Plastic is a broad name given to different polymers with high molecular weight, which can be degraded by various processes. However, considering their abundance in the environment and their specificity in attacking plastics, biodegradation of plastics by microorganisms and enzymes seems to be the most effective process. When plastics are used as substrates for microorganisms, evaluation of their biodegradability should not only be based on their chemical structure, but also on their physical properties (melting point, glass transition temperature, crystallinity, storage modulus etc.). In this review, microbial and enzymatic biodegradation of plastics and some factors that affect their biodegradability are discussed. Plastics have become an important part of modern life and are used in different sectors of applications like packaging, building materials, consumer products and much more. Each year about 100 million tons of plastics are produced worldwide. Degradation is defined as reduction in the molecular weight of the polymer. The Degradation types are (a). Chain end degradation/de-polymerization (b).Random degradation/reverse of the poly condensation process. Biodegradation is defined as reduction in the molecular weight by naturally occurring microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and actinomycetes. That is involved in the degradation of both natural and synthetic plastics.
