Abstract

Da’wah is also the duty of a Muslim. In preaching, of course, a Muslim needs a medium to convey what will be conveyed. In this millennial era, preaching can be done anywhere, especially on social media, arts, traditions, even the Wayang Kulit tradition. However, in some areas, wayang kulit has begun to decline in development and its existence has dwindled, but in some areas there are still puppet shows, for example in the city of Madiun. Da’wah strategy conveyed by the Dalang figure from a conversation from a wayang play being played. In a wayang play, there are philosophies that can describe Islamic terms. This was also conveyed by the Dalang using language that the public could easily understand. Wayang kulit was chosen as the most effective medium of propaganda because wayang is also part of Javanese culture, which is still favored by various groups of Javanese society. And also the stories or plays in Wayang also contain Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This article discusses the biography and thoughts of H.M. Rasyidi, a very productive thinker, but his name is foreign to the ears of academics. He has an extraordinary contribution to Indonesia and even other countries such as America and France. In this research, the writer uses the pure library research method. All works related to this research are used as reference material to read the thoughts of the characters. To support this research, the analytical methods that the author uses are descriptive, interpretative and historical continuity. H.M Rasjidi was the first Indonesian Minister of Religion. In government, he has also served as the Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt, Saudi Arabia and others. Previously in the field of organization, he was involved in the PII and Masyumi organizations, among others. He has also been active as a Lecturer at the Islamic College (UII) Yogyakarta, Professor of the UI Faculty of Law, Professor of Western Philosophy at IAIN Syarif Hidayatullah and a visiting Lecturer at McGill University. H.M. Rasjidi is of the opinion that Islamic law concerning matters of worship and its details clearly cannot be changed, because this will open up opportunities for the creation of new ways of worship like other religions. Philosophical truths are called speculative truths because they talk about abstract things that cannot be tested or researched. While the truth of science is called positive truth because it can be tested empirically. He said that the Christianization of Muslims is clearly prohibited because in government regulations it is not permissible to "promote" religion to be embraced by people who have embraced (Islam).

Abstract

The research on this figure is motivated by the response of female feminists to the traditional model of text interpretation. The implication is that around the 19-20th centuries, figures appeared who sharply criticized the method of interpretation of the Qur’an in relation to women's texts, and criticized classical fiqh formulations which were considered discriminatory against women. The reason for choosing Wadud was because she was considered capable of reconstructing a gender-based interpretation of the Qur’an. The uniqueness of Wadud's methodological model of interpretation of the Koran is that the model of re-reading the Qur’an is based on women's experiences and without involving stereotypes that become the framework for men's interpretation. This article tries to look at the hermeneutic model offered by Amina Wadud comprehensively. By using this type of character study research and a gender approach, we reveal Wadud's discourse on gender and the interpretation model initiated to interpret the text of the Koran or hadith. The result is that Wadud offers a holistic-accommodative interpretation model. Thus, Wadud began to seek reformulation of the interpretation methodology that was relevant to the spirit of the universality of the Qur'an. Wadud presents a critical interpretation, namely hermeneutics of monotheism by emphasizing the significance of the prior text in the verses of the Qur'an. This is evidenced by the modification of Amina Wadud's text interpretation.
