Abstract

This article aims to identify the risks in the bamboo handicraft industry in Sendari, assessment of the risks that may arise and analyze the strategies. Risk identification in this study was carried out by conducting a SWOT analysis to determine the current business conditions and to analyze the sources of risk that this industry is likely to face. The analysis found that the most significant risks faced by the bamboo handicraft industry in Sendari are Market Risk and Operational Risk. The risk assessment matrix shows that market risk and operational risk are in the red zone, and the financial risk becomes the next focus because the financial risk is in the orange zone. The bamboo handicraft industry in Sendari needs to increase the marketing of its products and collaborate with the government to improve human resource management, financing, and product innovation.

Abstract

The performance of fisheries processing industry could be known through the production of processed fish and income which obtained by the entrepreneurs. Fisheries processing in Sukabumi Regency as an industry certainly has various factors that influence its performance. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of MSMEs and MSME actors characteristics on the performance of MSMEs in Sukabumi Regency. The research was conducted in Sukabumi Regency with the consideration that Sukabumi has superior MSME fishery processing industry products. The data used in the research were obtained from the results of interviews using the questionnaire. The number of samples used was 99 units of MSMEs which were selected by proportional cluster random sampling technique. The research data obtained were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with the help of SmartPLS 3.2.7 software. The results showed that the characteristics of MSMEs had a positive and significant effect on the performance of MSMEs, and the characteristics of MSME actors consisting of demographic, psychological and cultural characteristics had a positive and significant effect on the performance of MSMEs. Based on these results, a psychological and cultural approach is needed for each program that will be carried out related to improving the performance of MSMEs in the fisheries processing industry in Sukabumi Regency.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of transformational leadership on employee performance in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) industry employees in Bekasi with a mentality of being ready to change as a mediator. The data were collected through simple random sampling technique and the results of a questionnaire that returned and were valid for 132 samples. The data were processed by the SEM method using SmartPLS 3.0 software. From the results of this research, it is concluded that transformational leadership has no significant effect on employee performance, but transformational leadership has a significant and positive effect on the mentality of being ready to change as a mediator. This research also concludes that a mentality of being ready to change has a significant and positive effect on the relationship between transformational leadership and employee performance. The mentality ready to change in this study serves as a full mediator. This new research proposes a model for building employee performance among RAC industrial employees in Bekasi through the development of transformational leadership practices with a change-ready mentality as a mediating variable. This research can pave the way for developing a ready-to-change mentality in employees in the face of the pace of the fourth industrial revolution.

Abstract

Leadership is an interesting and important topic to be discussed for all time. It is related to the important role of leaders in an organization or group of people. Whether or not the condition of the organization or group in the future depends on the role of the leader at this time. A leader is expected to have professional technical and managerial skills. The technical skills are under their fields, while managerial skills require their role in leading others. These skills are reflected in his actions, such as selecting, educating, motivating, developing up to terminating employment relations. Leadership and adjusting to change are the biggest challenges facing leaders today. Leaders must use leadership styles that are most effective in influencing subordinates' perceptions about the goals to be achieved and ways to achieve them. There are three leadership theories, namely, traits theory, behavior theory, and contingency theory. All three theories have different basic assumptions. This article only focuses on the theory of traits theory and behavior theory. Trait theory believes that leaders are born with several inherent characteristics such as courage, intelligence, strength, initiative, responsibility. In contrast to trait theory, behavior theory believes that leaders can be formed with education and training, where leadership functions such as planning, organizing, directing, controlling are more prominent than the leader's character.

Abstract

This study aims to provide empirical evidence regarding the role of profitability, firm size and firm growth in explaining the variability of capital structure. The research sample was taken using purposive sampling method. The research sample that met the criteria was 34 companies in the consumer goods industry which were listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2015-2018 period. The independent variables consist of profitability, company size and company growth. In this study, hypothesis testing was carried out using linear regression processed through SPSS software. The coefficient of determination is 98.58%, meaning that the variability of the capital structure is influenced by the variables of profitability, company size and company growth. Based on the results of linear regression analysis with a significance level of 5%, the results provide evidence that there is a negative and significant relationship between profitability and capital structure and there is a positive and significant relationship between company growth and capital structure. This study also provides evidence that firm size has no role as a determinant of capital structure.

Abstract

Competition in the culinary business in the city of Solo is currently very tight, and critical consumer demands are an important problem for entrepreneurs to always provide high satisfaction to customers. Service quality is not enough to satisfy customers, but it needs to be high value for customers. This study aims to analyze (1) effect service quality and perceived value on customer satisfaction; (2) effect perceived value on customer satisfaction; (3) effect service quality on customer satisfaction moderated of perceived value. This research using sample 100 customers who buy culinary in Kota Barat Solo Area. Data collecting with questionaire technique through validity and reliability test. The data analyse using regression linear analysis and absolute residual test, and previously the researcher using classical assumption test. Results of this research showed that (1) service quality have a significantly effect on customer satisfaction; (2) perceived value have a significantly effect on customer satisfaction; (3) perceived value has moderate the effect of service quality on customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ROA (return on asset), ukuran perusahaan, leverage, dan intensitas aktiva tetap secara parsial dan simultan terhadap agresivitas pajak pada perusahaan LQ 45 yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada Tahun 2015-2018. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif, dengan memakai metode purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 35 perusahaan yang memiliki data lengkap terkait dengan variabel yang digunakan. Metode analisis yang digunakan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah regresi data panel dengan menggunakan sofware e-views 10. Hasil pengujian parsial 1 antara variabel return on asset (ROA) terhadap agresivitas pajak menunjukan nilai r-value 0.0139 < alpha 0,05 artinya cukup bukti untuk menyatakan terdapat pengaruh signifikan dari return on asset (ROA) terhadap agresivitas pajak pada perusahaan LQ 45 yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada Tahun 2015-2018, Hasil pengujian parsial 2 antara variabel ukuran perusahaan terhadap agresivitas pajak menunjukan nilai r-value 0.5965 > alpha 0,05 artinya tidak cukup bukti untuk menyatakan terdapat pengaruh signifikan dari ukuran perusahaan terhadap agresivitas pajak pada perusahaan LQ 45 yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada Tahun 2015-2018. Hasil pengujian parsial 3 antara variabel laverage terhadap agresivitas pajak menunjukan nilai r-value 0.9877 > alpha 0,05 artinya tidak cukup bukti untuk menyatakan terdapat pengaruh signifikan dari laverage terhadap agresivitas pajak pada perusahaan LQ 45 yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada Tahun 2015-2018. Hasil pengujian parsial 4 antara variabel intensitas aktiva tetap terhadap agresivitas pajak menunjukan nilai r-value 0.0032 < alpha 0,05 artinya cukup bukti untuk menyatakan terdapat pengaruh signifikan dari intensitas aktiva tetap terhadap agresivitas pajak pada perusahaan LQ 45 yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada Tahun 2015-2018. Dan hasil pengujian simultan variabel return on asset (ROA), ukuran perusahaan, laverage, dan intensitas aktiva tetap secara simultan terhadap agresivitas pajak menunjukan nilai r-value 0.0000 < alpha 0,05 artinya cukup bukti untuk menyatakan terdapat pengaruh signifikan dari return on asset (ROA), ukuran perusahaan, laverage, dan intensitas aktiva tetap secara simultan terhadap agresivitas pajak pada perusahaan LQ 45 yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada Tahun 2015-2018. Kontribusi return on asset (ROA), ukuran perusahaan, leverage, intensitas aset tetap secara simultan terhadap agresivitas pajak sebesar 40,2571% dan sisanya sebesar 59,7429% dipengaruhi variabel lain yang tidak diteliti.

Abstract

Universities as higher education institutions have an important role in the process of encouraging the growth of entrepreneurs. Tidar University is always trying to create new entrepreneurs. However, Tidar University has not yet evaluated how much the effectiveness of entrepreneurship teaching on students' entrepreneurial readiness. Therefore, research is needed in analyzing the factors that affect entrepreneurial readiness. The research was conducted at Tidar University from March to April 2020. The population of this study was students of the Faculty of Agriculture from Semester 2 to Semester 8 in the 2019/2020 academic year. The number of samples is 120 people. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the more students get training, the more ready they are to become entrepreneurs. Students suggest the following training to complement their existing skills: a) digital marketing, b) practical work training, c) success story seminars, d) business risks, e) business basics and soft skills, f) facing global markets and innovation, g) performance management, h) entrepreneurial mentality and spirit, i) how to capture business opportunities, j) marketing, k) time management and money management, l) agrosociopreneurs, m) building networks, and n) business tips and tricks. Students with high entrepreneurial education intentions have relatively less entrepreneurial readiness. This is because they have a lot of knowledge base which encourages them to be more careful if they want to start a business. Students have the perception that entrepreneurial readiness cannot be measured by the GPA value. Entrepreneurial experience encourages students to be ready to return to entrepreneurship
