Abstract

A study was carried out to assess the present status of blue swimmer crab (Portunus pelagicus) in Lancang Island, incorporating identification of fishing ground, also measurement of environmental condition and crab biometry. Monthly catch assessment was performed on JuneSeptember 2015 at three landing bases using structured questionnaire and morphometric sampling of minimum randomly selected 30 crabs. Bathymetric survey was conducted to produce depth-contoured maps combined with certain oceanographic parameters (sea surface temperature, salinity, water clarity, total suspended solids, dissolved oxygen, and nitrate-NO3) measured at 15 sampling sites. A grid map was produced to identify key areas of crab fishing grounds, recruitment habitat, and spawning habitats. During southeast monsoon, main fishing ground was distributed in the western and southern part of Lancang Island (grid C3, C4, and D5). In general, crab yields were dominated by female (66.9%) and 43.8% of them were bearing eggs. Four size classes were determined from frequency distribution of carapace width (Class 1 = 7.0-10.6 cm; Class 2 = 10.7-14.2 cm; Class 3 = 14.3-17.8 cm; and Class 4 = 17.9-21.5 cm), with Class 2 as the most prominent catch. Referring to ontogenetic migration trait of the species, presumed recruitment habitat for blue swimmer crab in Lancang Island is located at A6, where abundant juveniles were harvested in the area with strong oceanic influence and depth range of 24-30 m. Abstract

Penelitianpada pancing tonda berdasarkan musim penangkapan ikan dan penangkapan ikan tuna di sekitar rumpon ini dilakukan dari bulan April sampai Juli 2012 di selatan perairan Palabuhanratu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membandingkan komposisi CPUE tuna danmemetakan penangkapan tuna dengan rumpon pada musim yang berbeda. Analisis Varians (ANOVA) digunakan untuk membandingkan CPUE di setiap musim. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan musim memberikan perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap CPUE tuna. Persentase ikan tuna yang ditangkap di sekitar rumpon pada musimrata-rata terdiri dariyellowfin (42%), cakalang (36%) dan bigeye (22%). Musim tangkapan terendah terdiri dari yellowfin (44%), cakalang (30%) dan bigeye (25%). Musim puncak terdiri dariyellowfin (34%), cakalang (46%) dan bigeye (21%). Penangkapan ikan tuna di wilayah selatan Palabuhanratu pada posisi 070-080300 LS and 1060-1070 BT dengandaerah penangkapan ikan yang berbeda untuk setiap musim.Kata kunci: rumpon, daerah penangkapan ikan, musim penangkapan, pancing tonda, tuna

Abstract

The aims of this study to formulate the problems of troll fisheries in Sendang Biru from the technical, ecological, and institutional aspects, in order to discover the conceptual model as a solution to the problems. Research was conducted in February 2013 in PPP Pondokdadap, using Soft Systems Methodology (SSM). The results showed that problems were the existence of competition for troll fisheries unit area, smaller size tuna were obtained, and weak institutional role in the monitoring and licensing of fishing. Therefore, there are 3 conceptual models into the initial solution that can be done by all parties concerned, namely (1) formulating the fishing operation of troll fisheries with FAD unit in PPP Pondokdadap, (2) developing and implementating of local regulation for monitoring, controlling, and survaillance of fishing ground in Southern water of Malang Regency, and (3) manufacturing and using of SOP licensing by local government.

Abstract

Pengukuran produktivitas, efisiensi secara teknis dan ekonomi merupakan indikator utama dalam menilai kemampuan usaha dari unit penangkapan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghitung produktivitas unit penangkapan pukat cincin, memformulasikan faktor-faktor produksi yang berperan terhadap hasil tangkapan dan hubungannya terhadap hasil tangkapan unit penangkapan pukat cincin, serta menghitung efisiensi dari penggunaan faktor produksi unit penangkapan pukat cincin yang berbasis di Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai (PPP) Lampulo. Faktor produksi yang menunjang hasil tangkapan unit penangkapan pukat cincin seperti ukuran kapal, daya mesin kapal, panjang jaring, tinggi jaring, jumlah awak kapal, BBM, jumlah lampu, jumlah es, jumlah air tawar dan biaya perbekalan dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan Cobb-Douglas. Perhitungan produktivitas dilakukan dengan pendekatan rata-rata hasil tangkapan pukat cincin selama setahun dibagi dengan besarnya Gross Tonage dan trip penangkapan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan produktivitas per trip tertinggi yaitu 1.86 ton/trip pada tahun 2012 dan produktivitas per GT tertinggi yaitu 9.97 ton/GT pada tahun 2011. Persamaan fungsi produksi Cobb-Douglas unit penangkapan pukat cincin di PPP Lampulo yaitu LnY = -18.875 - 0.432 LnX2 + 0.467 LnX4 - 1.116 LnX5 - 0.184 LnX7 + 2.181 LnX10, dengan nilai R2 = 0.727. Analisis efisiensi teknis pada 54 kapal menunjukkan penggunaan faktor produksi daya mesin kapal (-0.432), jumlah awak kapal (-1.116), dan jumlah lampu (-0.184) nilai elastisitas produksinya sudah negatif (Ep<0) yang menunjukkan penggunaan faktor produksi sudah tidak efisien, sedangkan faktor produksi dari tinggi jaring (0.467) berada pada tahap produksi rasional karena berada antara 0<Ep<1 dan faktor produksi biaya perbekalan (2.181) nilai Ep>1 yang artinya penggunaan faktor produksi belum efisien. Efisiensi ekonomis penggunaan variabel faktor produksi tersebut tidak efisien karena nilai NPMxi/BKMxi<1.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research has been done in Palabuhanratu bay, Indonesia. Juvenile lobster (Panulirus sp.) is the main target fish in this research. This research was used Fish Aggregating Devices with two different types of attractor. This research was aimed to known differences in the effectiveness of attractor that had been calculated used on Mann-Whitney Methode. Attractor which used for comparison were seaweed and palm leaf as a test and a seaweed as a control. Korang was a tool that used to gotten a data and put a attractor. The result of comparition show that a total of catches with seaweed and palm leaf more than seaweed. Penelitian ini menggunakan rumpon dengan 2 jenis atraktor yang berbeda. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perbedaan efektivitas atraktor yang dihitung menggunakan Mann-Whitney. Atraktor yang digunakan untuk perbandingan adalah rumput laut dan daun kelapa sebagai percobaan dengan rumput laut sebagai kontrol. Korang merupakan alat yang digunakan unuk pengambilan data sekaligus tempat meletakkan atraktor. Hasil perbandingan menunjukkan bahwa jumlah hasil tangkapan pada atraktor rumput laut dan daun kelapa lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan rumput laut. Abstract

ABSTRACTTerritorial waters of East Flores has the large potential of fish resources. One of them is skipjack tuna, where the utilization of these resources are used to meet the needs of the national and International market. This resulted in considerable pressure on resources, so it requires a calculation based on the optimization of the utilization of biological factors. This research was conducted to analyze the status of utilization of resources and looking for the best management regime in achieving sustainable fisheries. This research was conducted in the Larantuka, East Flores District, NTT Province in March to April 2014. This study uses a bioeconomic analysis which is accompanied by some estimate of the social discount rate. In this study, bioeconomic analysis using two approaches, namely input and output. The analytical method used is the CPUE (Cacth Per Unit Effort) analysis, biological and economic parameters, optimization of estimation static and dynamic. Dynamic optimization in this analysis, conducted with estimated level of the sensitivity social discount rate value to resource extraction. The results in this study shows that in the period 2003-2012, the skipjack tuna resource utilization efforts have not experienced symptoms of overfishing, so the chance in an effort to utilize the resource is still wide open.Keywords: bioeconomic, skipjack tuna , sosial discount rate-------ABSTRAKWilayah perairan Flores Timur memiliki potensi sumber daya ikan yang sangat besar. Salah satunya adalah ikan cakalang, dimana pemanfaatan sumber daya tersebut digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pasar nasional dan internasional. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan tekanan yang cukup kuat terhadap sumber daya, sehingga diperlukan sebuah perhitungan optimasi pemanfaatan berdasarkan pada faktor biologi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis status pemanfaatan yang dilakukan terhadap sumber daya dan mencari rezim pengelolaan terbaik dalam mewujudkan perikanan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kecamatan Larantuka, Kabupaten Flores Timur, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur pada bulan Maret sampai April 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis bioekonomi yang disertai dengan beberapa estimasi social discount rate. Analisis bioekonomi dalam penelitian ini menggunakan dua pendekatan, yaitu pendekatan input dan output. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam analisis bioekonomi adalah analisis CPUE (cacth per unit effort), parameter biologi dan ekonomi, estimasi optimasi statik dan dinamik. Optimasi dinamik pada analisis ini, dilakukan dengan estimasi tingkat sensitivitas nilai social discount rate terhadap ekstraksi sumber daya. Hasil yang diperoleh pada panelitian ini adalah, dalam kurun waktu 2003-2012 upaya pemanfaatan sumber daya cakalang belum mengalami gejala overfishing, sehingga kesempatan dalam upaya pemanfaatan sumber daya masih terbuka.Kata kunci: bioekonomi, cakalang, social discount rate

Abstract

There are two types of population growth function  of the basic formulation of Schaefer’s biology model, however in this study there is a difference in form and value of “r” as one of a biology parameter.   In addition  to the difference in the method by calculating the process of a and b coefficient. The calculating process of a and b coefficient in Schaefer’s biology model was conducted through linear regression which has not yet been exact.  This is  due to  the model itself which is quadratic. Therefore to provide the solution is through quadratic process. The linear regression shows the value of fmsy and Ymsy 1.40 and 1.34 times smaller than quadratic process respectively. Based on the two graphs from the calculating process of a and b coefficient, it can be concluded that the utilization of yellowfin tuna fishery was still not optimal. According to the result based on the linear and quadratic regression, the maximum production of yellowfin tuna  can be increased to 664,037 and 877,340 kg.Keywords: Population growth function, Schaefer’s Biology Model, Utilization status, Yellowfin tunaABSTRAKDua jenis fungsi pertumbuhan populasi menjadi dasar pembentukan model biologi Schaefer, namun dalam kajian ini terdapat perbedaan dalam bentuk dan nilai r sebagai parameter biologi ditambah juga berdasarkan perbedaan metode perhitungan koefisien a dan b. Nilai fmsy dan Ymsy dari proses regresi linear memiliki nilai 1,40 dan 1,34 kali lebih rendah dari proses kuadratik. Berdasarkan kedua kurva dari kedua metode perhitungan koefisien a dan b, maka status pemanfaatan perikanan tuna madidihang diduga masih belum optimal. Abstract

The global demand for seaweed is expected to increase in the coming years due to new product development using seaweed. There are many benefits of seaweed such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food industries, textiles, paper, and bioenergy production. On the other hand, Indonesia, as the archipelago country with the second-longest coastline after Canada, is expected to achieve competitiveness so Indonesia benefit more from the seaweed industry. This study aims to get the landscape of the seaweed industry and to select strategies. The strategies are designed using the Structural Equation Modelling Method – Partial Least Square (SEM – PLS). The findings of this study are the competitive advantage of Indonesia's carrageenan-producing seaweed industry using descriptive statistical methods through the perception model show considered weak. The three main parameters of concern are assessed as low-cost leadership, ability to increase export value and self-sufficiency in meeting the needs of domestic seaweed. The analysis also shows that the influence of innovation and stakeholder support on increasing the competitive advantage of Indonesia's carrageenan-producing seaweed industry is considered significant. Innovation is represented by the latent variable attributes of innovation, communication channels and the role of change agents, which are concluded to have a significant effect both directly and indirectly on the industry's competitive advantage. Abstract

The performance of fisheries processing industry could be known through the production of processed fish and income which obtained by the entrepreneurs. Fisheries processing in Sukabumi Regency as an industry certainly has various factors that influence its performance. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of MSMEs and MSME actors characteristics on the performance of MSMEs in Sukabumi Regency. The research was conducted in Sukabumi Regency with the consideration that Sukabumi has superior MSME fishery processing industry products. The data used in the research were obtained from the results of interviews using the questionnaire. The number of samples used was 99 units of MSMEs which were selected by proportional cluster random sampling technique. The research data obtained were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with the help of SmartPLS 3.2.7 software. The results showed that the characteristics of MSMEs had a positive and significant effect on the performance of MSMEs, and the characteristics of MSME actors consisting of demographic, psychological and cultural characteristics had a positive and significant effect on the performance of MSMEs. Based on these results, a psychological and cultural approach is needed for each program that will be carried out related to improving the performance of MSMEs in the fisheries processing industry in Sukabumi Regency.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of ethnocentrism, hedonism, and reference groups to the preferences and purchasing behaviour of local fruit by generation Y. This research is a descriptive research with survey method using questionnaire. The sampling of this research used non-probability sampling and the number of respondents was 200 students from School of Business and Faculty of Economic and Management Bogor Agricultural University that was divided proportionally based on the sample fraction according to the population of each department at the Faculty. The data analysis used Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The result showed that ethnocentrism had positively significant influence and hedonism had negatively significant influence on generation Y’s preference, consumer preferences had positively significant influence and hedonism had negatively significant influence on generation Y’s purchasing behaviour of local fruit. Reference group had positively but not significant influence on generation Y’s preference and purchasing behaviour of local fruit. Generation Y’s preference and purchasing behaviour of local fruits can be improved by increasing the ethnocentirsm and decreasing the hedonism of generation Y consumer.
