Abstract

Fluid flow around a circular cylinder is one of classical problems in fluid mechanics. Subsea pipeline and the pillars of offshore platform is an example from circular cylinder application. Many of these engineering applications are often subject to flow conditions correspondings to very high Reynolds number. The journal presents a numerical simulation of fluid flow around a two dimensional (2D) circular cylinder with high Reynolds number (Re = 2 × 106), steady Reynolds Average Navier Stokes (RANS), standar k - ???? SST and k – ???? SST turbulence model as well as using different order discretization; first order upwind, second order upwind dan third order MUSCL. The results are compared with published experimental data and numerical results. The k – ???? SST turbulence model are shown to be considerably more accurate than the standar k – ???? results. The use of different discretization order on the results of this study showed that the differences are not so significant.

Abstract

Improved performance of the computer itself is not only utilize the processor alone, but could use the current GPU speed can exceed the processor though. This increase was also intended that in one instruction, the computer can directly handle the various processes at once without deadlock. The most commonly used way is to use a thread. The use of threads can improve performance up to thousands of times compared to the serial computation.

Abstract

Brown's Gas electrolysis system is a water electrolysis system coupled with a catalyst that can produce pure hydrogen and oxygen which have calorific value and high octane. In several studies that have shown that its application to existing vehicles can increase fuel efficiency and increased torque. The resulting gas also contains water vapor to cool the engine and lowering emissions Cox. The result showed the highest increase in power is at 7.83% which is 0.4 Hp at Brown's Gas Type B without Silica Gel / [BG B (-SG)]. Sfc biggest decline 26.45% ie 0.0426 mm Kg / Hp hours on BG B (-SG). Increased levels of HC for BG A (+ SG) of 348.5 ppm, increased levels of CO exist in BG A (+ SG) of 3.06%, an increase in CO2 levels is in BG A (-SG) of 12.47%, λ there is a decrease in BG A (+SG) of 0.54%

Abstract

ECG signal is one of the main tools used to make the diagnosis of heart abnormalities and can also be used to determine the steps recovery before a more serious medical treatment. Description and feature extraction just before taking a decision to be the most important in diagnosing patients' heart health. The main steps in the analysis of the ECG signal is to eliminate or reduce the noise from ECG signals using a variety of filtering techniques, detection of cardiac cycle by detecting QRS complex signal, the detection of the main characteristics of the signal to be analyzed and ultimately determine the formula of the characteristic features that have been obtained in the previous section. In this study, the authors will examine the ECG signal by eliminating or reducing noise on the signal ECG wave pattern up and down making it very difficult for the detection and extraction of ECG signals. The current results of testing showed that the ECG signal which initially did not constantly be on the line isolines become ECG signal consistently isolines are on the line so that this condition makes subsequent processing to diagnose cardiac abnormalities in a timely and accurate.

Abstract

To meet the increasing demand for electricity, is required the power plants that utilize renewable energy.The rapid development of technology currently, it has been able to take advantage of solar energy into electrical energy by using solar panels.To get the maximum power from the solar panel dc-dc converter is needed, which is controlled by using the maximum power point tracking algorithm(MPPT).This paper presents a comparison between CUK and SEPIC converter in maximum power point tracking of solar panel system. Advantages and disadvantages of both converters are described in this paper. Furthermore, Perturb and Observe (P&O) are used as maximum power point tracking algorithm. The evaluation of the output has been carried out and compared by software simulation.

Abstract

Control system is an important that is often encountered. Controlling at a long distance to take advantage of more advanced technologies such as the computer will make a lot of people get it easier to control syatem. For that invented a device used to control the door locks via wireless microcontroller based. Wireless communication using radio frequency of 27MHz. frequency that is used for remote control and uses Visual Basic 6.0 applications as a control. This device consists of a master module and the slave module. Data sent from the master module form logic 1 or 0. With the number of bits used is 4 bit logic on one instruction. Rated voltage generated at logic 1 is between 3 to 5 volts. While the logic 0 is between 0-1 volt.Data sent in the form of radio wave signal amplitude waves are superimposed with the signal carrier in the form of pulses of radio frequency. When given a logic 1 then the relay contacts are closed, while when given a logic 0 then the relay contact relay will be open. For moving doors, then set the PWM value of its Software. The value of PWM affect the output voltage in a DCmotor.

Abstract

On a railway network systems, railway timetable is veryimportant part of a systems because it involves a very complex. A delay of single train can cause a continuity affect of other trains that cause the scheduling system will experience a very significant change. One solution that is used to minimize the train delay by optimization the speed of train. In this research using methode of model predictice control (MPC) for design model by controlled. The result model implementation is average speed of 57,9 km/hours.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze whether working capital management which consist of average collection period, inventory turnover in days, and average payment period has an influence on the company’s profitability as measured using ROI. Samples were taken using a purposive samppling method, in order to get 12 companies as a sample which consist of 72 observation. Influencee of independent variable such as average collection period, inventory turnover in days, and average payment period to ROI investigated using regression analysis method. The result showed that there are three variable that average collection period, inventory turnover in days, and average payment period has a significant negative effect on ROI.

Abstract

Computer Vision is one branch of the Field Science Image Processing which allows computers to see like humans, recognize objects and make decisions one example application is face detection, which later developed as the face tracker. Haar-like feature is a feature based on the Haar wavelet. Haar wavelet is a single square wave (high and low). For two dimensions, one light and one dark. The workings of haar-like features in a face detection technique is to use a sliding window, the whole picture and try to see if there is a part of the image that is shaped like a face or not. Controller Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) closed loop control model is a widely used in industrial. This control model will calculate the error as the value of the difference between the measured results with the desired set point value. Controller PID will minimize the error by adjusting the process control inputs. In this study utilizing Haar-like feature and PID to perform the face tracker system, starting with the webcam detects a face, using EmguCV will determine the required set-point motor driver to drive the motor with a PID controller, thus motor will follow the movement of the face to the left and or right.Based on the test results in this study, the system can recognize the faces with optimal response whenthe value of Kp = 0.8, Ki = 0001 and Kd = 0.05 and an average error of 2%.

Abstract

Monitoring Technology is a system with low cost and high efficiency becomes a challenge in the current era. The author makes a room monitoring system with wireless sensor network (WSN) based radio frequency GSM and SMS Alert. This system consists of two pieces of slave nodes and one master node. Master node and slave nodes using XBee modules as communications equipment. Each slave node consists of a DHT11 sensor to measure the room temperature and humidity, light sensor light dependent resistor (LDR) for measuring the intensity of light, the voltage sensor to measure the voltage source tools and PIR sensor for detecting movement of people in the room. All data sent to each slave node to the master node is processed and displayed. Then when the system is operating in a state of active monitoring, when the movement is detected, the master node will send SMS alerts to the user using a GSM modem wavecom module. Room monitoring results with these systems in accordance with the design, room condition information generated quite accurate with an average error of measurement is not more than 2%. SMS alerts precisely and quickly accepted by the user as soon as movement is detected in the room.
