Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the alternative policies of landslide area mitigation and adaptation in Palupuah Subdistrict, Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. This research was descriptive research using mixed method. The data collection used purposive sampling by adapting the sample to criteria. The samples were Palupuah Subdistrict government agencies (the Department of Social, the Head of Palupuah Subdistrict, National Disaster Management Agency), the experts, and the society leaders of Palupuah Subdistrict. The results and discussion of the alternative policies of landslide area mitigation in Palupuah Subdistrict, Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia are: (1) conducting the settlements management in areas with landslides risk of the greatest weight rated (0,795), (2) strengthening the slope vegetatively (0.792), (3) strengthening the slope mechanically (0.769), and (4) developing land allotment landslides based (0.750). The alternative policies of landslide area adaptation in Palupuah Subdistrict, Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia are: (1) avoiding building houses in the steep slopes area, (2) performing the agricultural pattern landslide mitigation based, (3) creating the sewerage in the ​​water cycle area, and (4) making the rules based on the local wisdoms that respond to the landslide.

Abstract

This study was aimed to know the impact of the migration of Indonesian worker (referred as TKI) family on children’s education at Sambelia District of East Lombok Regency. This research using qualitative approach. Collecting data technique were observation, interview and documentation. The type of the data are primary and secondary data. Primary data collected by respondent interviews and secondary data collected by state government. To analyze the data, the researcher using qualitative model by Miles and Huberman: data reduction, display data, and conclusion. Other data analysis such as government policy and raw data from state government of East Lombok using AHP Model and statistic analysis. The result found that 40% of children whose parents were TKI suffered from poor psychosocial development in terms of achievement and not having close friend. A long-term impact was that those children might drop out of school and more likely experienced psychological wellbeing disorders like emotional disorder. Children from TKI family who grew and developed with only one of the parents tended to be more disobedient. They tended to skip school and chose to spend time for playing. According to the score of Consistency Ratio, the highest score was obtained by factor of socio-economy (0.373) followed by factor of poor life skill (0.277), factor of not being accepted in the environment (0.205), and factor of higher life necessities (0.146).

Abstract

This research attempted to study about the development of tourism potential in East Lombok Regency (object: Surga Beach). It adopted a descriptive qualitative research design. The data was in the form of qualitative data and collected through interview. The result explained about the development of the potential and its inhibiting factors in East Lombok Regency. With surga Beach’s contribution to Locally-Generated Revenue (PAD) and better regional autonomy, East Lombok still had many problems in developing the tourism potential. The development is hoped to give a positive impact to tourism in Indonesia in general and tourism in Lombok in particular that government, local people and private parties should pay greater attention to it.

Abstract

The eruption of Mount Sinabung causes damage and loss, especially in education. Education was blocked that caused by the factors of parents and children themselves who are responsible for the development and education of children as a matter of education in the family and also the problem of the continuity of the child's learning. This research was descriptive research that uses the method of field observation, interview, and documentation. The main instrument that uses in the field of collecting the data was a questionnaire. The subject of this research were students and parents at SMA N 1 Simpang Empat. From the research, the presence of children in the family educational issues such as sources of funds (for the continuity of children's learning), and Problems Psychologist Parents (Post-eruption of Mount Sinabung) and also there is that there were some problem that Against Child Survival Learning These include: limited transportation, finance, atmosphere learning and time. As for overcoming this issue either from the government itself as scholarships for school children, as well as from the non-governmental donations from individual or group of people.

Abstract

Tourist village of Tete Batu is located at Sikur District in East Lombok Regency, Nusa Tenggara Barat Province. With its scenic beauty along the southern foot of Rinjani Mountain and its green, natural, beautiful and mild countryside atmosphere, Tete Batu Village offers economic potential to its community. Tourism sector needs a good tourism development that can develop existing potential with a maximum result. This research was aimed to find the effect of natural attraction development in Tete Batu Village that adopted Ecotourism Model in the interest of increasing the number of tourist arrivals. Technique of data analysis being used was SWOT analysis with qualitative approach. There were two types of data that were collected, namely primary and secondary data. Primary data was obtained through field observation, interview and questionnaire, while secondary data was collected from related literature study. The result showed that natural attractions in Tete Batu village could be developed by using Ecotourism model because its condition could attract tourists and the management was done by the society and based on local nature and culture.

Abstract

This study is purposed to obtain objective data about environmental availability as a learning source and its relevance to Core Competency (KI) and Basic Competency (KD) of public senior high school (SMAN) in East Lombok; the use of environment as a learning source by geography teachers to shape religious characters and to know teacher barriers in using environment as a learning source, and also to determine priority of directive policy in utilizing environment as a learning source in geography subject at SMAN East Lombok. Type of research was qualitative research. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis consisted of data reduction, data presentation, verification, and ISM (Interpretative Structural Modeling). This study found out that: (1) in aspect of environmental availability as a learning source, physical and non physical environment are available to be used as a learning resource and it is relevant to KI and KD in SMAN East Lombok. (2) In utilization aspect, the form of physical and non physical utilization in religious characteristic application at school has been exploited by geography teacher to form religious character. However, environmental utilization outside the school is not optimal, because of the obstacles. (3) Constraints that teacher encounter are to coordinate students, infrastructure, to make plan, to understand parties that involved such as parent and family consent, to analyze the availability in the development of learning resources. (4) Policy priority that arise in utilizing the environment as a source of geography learning is improving skill development of geographic teacher implementation in collaboration with other offices and schools; structural planning by geography teachers to utilize the environment as a learning source and established a committee to explore the availability; analyzing condition and availability in the development of learning resources.

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe an evaluation of Halal Tourism program in East Lombok Regency, Nusa Tenggara Barat Province, Indonesia. This study was a program evaluation research which employed Kirkpatrick’s evaluation model (Reaction, Learning, Behavior, Result) and descriptive qualitative approach. Instruments of data collection were interview guideline, observation guideline, document review, and questionnaire. The data was analysis by using Miles and Huberman’s model which consisted of data display, data reduction, and conclusion drawing/verification. The result of this research showed that the reaction of Government Tourism Office and local community in East Lombok Regency towards Halal Tourism program was at moderate category (75.46%); community’s reaction towards the learning and carrying capacity of Halal tourism program was at moderate category (75.17 %); community’s knowledge of Halal Tourism scored 82.93 %; management system, both operational and administrative, scored 70.62 %; and Community’s reaction towards the aspects of Halal Tourism program scored 79.03%. The effectiveness of Halal Tourism program according to community’s reaction towards facility aspects scored 65.52 or was at moderate category. Moreover, the result from questionnaire revealed that 91.67% of participants thought that the knowledge they obtained in Halal Tourism program was less practical.

Abstract

The purpose of this research describes 1) the implementation of Disaster Preparedness School (DPS) in SMPN 2 Rao Utara, and 2) supporting and inhibiting factors. This research was descriptive qualitative. The Subjects of this research were principals, teachers, and students. Data collection techniques used interview techniques, questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The result of this research shows that 1) the implementation DPS in SMPN 2 Rao Utara was done through three activities that were organizing, interpretation, and application. DPS organizing was a cooperation with various parties, making contingency plan of documents, and loading disaster mitigation material on the curriculum. The DPS interpretation was to draw up guidelines for the contingency plan of documents, the loading of disaster mitigation, and the vision of the school mission, and to provide supporting infrastructure. 2) DPS supporting factors in cooperation with the institution, have supporting tools, assistance from BPBD, while the factors inhibiting student turnover of new teachings, many school activities, less funding simulation activities, and less communication with the institution. Indicates that SMPN 2 Rao Utara, has been able to implement in terms of building structure, has been implemented DPS.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain information about the participation of educational institutions in supporting Halal Tourism destination through development of local culture. This study uses qualitative descriptive approach by using observation, interview and questionnaire in data collection. Subjects to be studied in this study are head of education department, principal (SMAN 1 Rujukan Selong) and random people in the community. Sample is determined by purposive sampling technique to select school and proportional random sampling technique to select respondent. Study finding obtained from formal institutions: 1) good example from teacher as a model in character education, 2) curriculum that contain Halal Tourism, 3) contribution in improvement and maintenance of tourism facilities and infrastructures in location of tourism attractions, 4) held a parade on Islam holiday (PHBI) and Islamic art contest. Meanwhile, non-formal participations are: 1) construction of religious facilities, 2) selling halal food products in area of ​​tourist attraction, 3) selling Islamic souvenirs.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to understand changes of agricultural land, contribution of agriculture sector to Gross Regional Domestic Produk (GRDP) and policy direction of agricultural GRDP in East Lombok Regency. The research method was a descritive quantitative research design. This research was conducted through secondary analysis. Technique of data analysis was GIS Analysis conducted on ArcGIS software to obtain data in respect of changes of land use from agricultural area to built-up area in East Lombok Regency. Meanwhile, policy direction of agricultural GRDP was processed by using AHP (analytic hierarchy process) technique. The results obtained were: 1) Changes of land use from Agricultural to built-up area in East Lombok Regency had been increasing since 2012 to 2015 in term of land area which was used to be used for tobacco plantations, 2) Agricultural contribution to GRDP is 27,95%. 3) 5 policy priorities toward agricultural GRDP with regard to land use changes in East Lombok are: (1) Controlling import and supporting export of farming, (2) The availability of a firm set of rules supported by accuracy of land use mapping and data collection, (3) Society’s role in improving economy, (4) The sinergy between government, farmers, and private parties, and (5) Modern agriculture based on local wisdom.
