Positive Youth Development, in the context of Physical Education, is an approach that prioritizes youth empowerment through physical activity and sports. Through physical activity intervened with a deliberately designed 5Cs and 7Cs program, youth can acquire motor skills, knowledge about health and fitness, and social skills needed for interacting with others. There is limited extensive research that specifically discusses PYD based on the 5Cs and 7Cs model in Physical Education. This article emphasizes the need for a more comprehensive analysis that explores the relationship between PYD and Physical Education implementing the 5Cs and 7Cs model. This study aimed to provide practical insights into how Physical Education can be designed and implemented to support positive youth development. By connecting theoretical studies with practical applications, it offers educators a framework for fostering resilience and positive development in students, which is currently limited in previous research. This study used the Systematic Literature Review method by reviewing Scopus-indexed international journals published in the last 10 years. The results of the study showed that research data in the 2012-2022 period experienced fluctuations. In 2021, the research trend was at its highest peak (14 articles), while the lowest research trend was in 2013 (1 article). It showed that the researcher interest in this topic could be more stable. The findings of the search results on this topic had not been extensively carried out. Only four research results and one chapter of a research book could be identified. Several research results used qualitative research methods (two articles) and survey methods (two articles). The authors did not find research using quantitative research methods on the 5Cs and 7Cs models, especially in Physical Education.

Life skills are skills needed to face the demands and challenges of everyday life so that these skills should be integrated in learning and various sports and recreational activities. However, studies on programs that are deliberately structured for developing life skills, especially through wall climbing activities, are scarce. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the intentionally structured program for life skills integrated in wall climbing activities. This research is experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design with more than one experimental group. This study involved 39 junior high school students aged 13-15 years divided into three groups randomly. The first group applied wall climbing activities based on the intentionally structured program for life skills. The second group applied wall climbing activities, while the third group was the control group. The treatment was conducted in 8 meetins, twice meetings per week, with a duration of 90 minutes for each meeting. The instrument used in this study was the Life Skill Scale for Sport (LSSS) questionnaire to measure life skills adapted from Cronin research. The results showed that the group implementing wall climbing activities integrating the intentionally structured program for life skills had a more effective impact than the group applying wall climbing activities without integrating the intentionally structured program for life skills and the control group. This study concludes that the implementation of the intentionally structured program for life skills in sport climbing activities have a significant impact on the life skill development of students.

The study aimed to evaluate the relationship between physical activity, psychological well-being, and Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) among adults within the academic community of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. This research was designed to inform policymakers on the importance of implementing needs-based health services and improving overall health status.A total of 201 employees were selected as the sample population. To collect data, the researchers used the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ) and the Short Form Health Survey (SF-36). The results indicated that the data followed a normal distribution, with Kolmogorov-Smirnov test results for GPAQ = 0.82 and HRQoL = 0.83.The correlation test revealed a significant relationship between physical activity levels and HRQoL, with a significance value of Sig. = 0.000, which is less than 0.05, indicating statistical significance. The R-Square value of 0.694 suggests that a substantial portion of the variance in HRQoL can be explained by the level of physical activity. The study underscores the critical role of developing effective physical activity programs to influence and predict physical activity behaviors positively. The findings align with existing research that demonstrates the benefits of physical activity in enhancing HRQoL, improving mood, and reducing symptoms of depression. This highlights the importance of physical activity as a key factor in promoting psychological well-being and overall quality of life.

Lung function capacity is the ability of the lungs to hold air when breathing. Lung function capacity plays an important role in a person physical fitness. Therefore, respiratory fitness training is determined by lung function in supporting daily physical activities. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of low-impact aerobic exercise, by calculating the VO2max value, on lung function capacity in adolescents (male and female aged 18 to 21 years), totaling 134 respondents. The research method used pre-experimental with one group pre-test and post-test design. This study used a spirometry measuring instrument to calculate the VO2max value. Data analysis showed an increase of 14.3%. The result found that the lung function capacity of adolescents before being given exercise was in the medium and low categories. Meanwhile, after being given low-impact aerobic exercise for 12 weeks (36 treatments), there was a significant increase of VO2max in adolescents. The results of this study prove that low-impact aerobic exercise can significantly increase lung function capacity showed by the increase of VO2max in adolescents. This study provides knowledge with relevant novelty on healthy lifestyle patterns in adolescents. It is recommended that adolescents should change their lifestyle by doing aerobic physical activities routinely and structured for better health.

Most health organizations recommend that people should wear masks when conducting outdoor physical activities, including exercise, during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to determine the effect of using a medical mask during brisk walking on salivary cortisol levels and its correlation with physical fitness. The study used experimental, analytical, and quantitative methodologies. Twenty-eight male subjects, aged 17-25 with a normal BMI, participated in this study. The measured data were salivary cortisol hormone levels and physical fitness index after performing brisk walking with and without using a medical mask. Salivary cortisol levels were measured after carrying out exercise using the ELISA and Delta Biologicals Salivary Cortisol kit. Physical fitness was evaluated using the Harvard Step-Up Test. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test. A correlation analysis was performed to examine the relationship between the physical fitness index and changes in cortisol levels. After using a medical mask, the average cortisol level was 23.53 ng/mL, higher than without using a medical mask, which was 11.35 ng/mL (p=0.000). The correlation test results showed a significance value of 0.029 and a Pearson Correlation value of -0.414. Physical fitness correlated negatively with increased salivary cortisol levels during brisk walking using a medical mask. Medical mask is an important preventive measure in high-risk situations for airborne disease transmission. However, alternative safety measures may be more appropriate to be applied during moderate-intensity physical exercises, such as choosing outdoor locations with safe social distancing.
