Abstract

Distribution is a critical component of logistics systems, especially in the food industry where perishable products such as frozen chicken require strict temperature control and timely delivery. CV XYZ, a frozen chicken distributor in Batam, encounters several operational challenges, including high transportation costs, limited cold chain infrastructure, and inefficient allocation of distribution routes. These issues not only increase operational expenses but also pose risks to product quality and delivery reliability. Therefore, an effective distribution strategy is required to ensure cost efficiency and service performance. This study aims to identify the most efficient transportation method to minimize distribution costs by applying three initial solution approaches: North West Corner Rule (NWCR), Least Cost (LC), and Vogel’s Approximation Method (VAM). The solutions obtained from each method were further evaluated using the Stepping Stone method to test their optimality. This research adopts a quantitative approach using a mathematical transportation model, with data collected through interviews and direct field observations. The results show that the VAM method produces the lowest initial distribution cost of Rp57,062,000, compared to Rp60,022,000 for the LC method and Rp63,916,000 for the NWCR method. After optimality testing, only the VAM solution remained unchanged, indicating that it had already reached optimality. Thus, VAM is recommended as the most effective method for optimizing frozen chicken distribution costs at CV XYZ Batam.

Abstract

CV. XYZ is a company engaged in the distribution of herbal products, honey, and books, where one of its main operational activities is delivering products to partner pharmacies. Currently, the distribution process relies on motorcycles, which have limited carrying capacity. This limitation results in inefficiencies in delivery time, increased operational costs, and a higher risk of product damage due to weather conditions. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate alternative transportation modes to improve distribution performance and operational efficiency. This study aims to analyze the investment feasibility of three transportation alternatives, namely purchasing a new box truck, purchasing a used box truck, and renting a box truck. The research applies a techno-economic analysis using Net Present Value (NPV) and Payback Period (PP) methods. Data were collected through field observations, interviews with company stakeholders, and relevant literature studies. The results indicate that all investment alternatives are financially feasible, as they generate positive NPV values. However, the used box truck alternative yields the highest NPV of Rp1,851,659,384 and the shortest payback period of 1 month and 27 days. Therefore, purchasing a used box truck is identified as the most optimal alternative for improving distribution efficiency at CV. XYZ. This study is expected to provide practical insights for investment decision-making, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises in the logistics and distribution sector.

Abstract

Merchandise serves as a branding medium that can be utilized to build the image of an organization, including higher education institutions. However, merchandise development in universities is often still generic and has not optimally explored institutional identity elements in an integrated manner, nor has it been widely examined from the perspective of user perception toward design and production technology. This study aims to develop a merchandise product in the form of a keychain that represents the identity of Universitas Tidar, while also evaluating the influence of design and 3D printing technology information on user perception. Two keychain designs were developed based on the identity elements of Universitas Tidar and realized into 3D models using CAD software, then fabricated using 3D printing technology. The evaluation was conducted through a questionnaire involving 440 student respondents based on four aspects: identity, usability, quality, and aesthetics, while considering differences in information treatment regarding the production process. The results indicate that both designs received generally positive ratings, with no statistically significant difference between them. In addition, providing information about the use of 3D printing technology did not significantly influence respondents’ perceptions. Further findings reveal that color is the most dominant factor affecting respondents’ evaluations, particularly in representing the university’s visual identity. Therefore, selecting colors that are more aligned with the identity of Universitas Tidar should be prioritized in future design development to enhance the effectiveness of merchandise as a branding medium.

Abstract

The digital transformation of healthcare in Indonesia has led to the emergence of services like Mobile JKN to improve access and service efficiency. However, ongoing user complaints regarding ease of access and system reliability indicate the need for user experience-based evaluation. This study aims to identify user complaint patterns, evaluate the ease of application access, and formulate recommendations for improvements to enhance the quality of digital public services in the healthcare sector, particularly the Mobile JKN application. This study uses a text mining approach to user reviews on the Google Play Store, referring to software quality characteristics based on the ISO/IEC 25010 standard. The research process was carried out through several stages, starting from data collection (scraping), preprocessing and text cleaning, review filtering based on keywords related to performance and satisfaction, and sentimen analysis to understand user perceptions more comprehensively. The results of word frequency analysis and word cloud visualization indicate that the most dominant user complaints are related to security and access control, particularly related to login problems and OTP verification failures that hinder service access. On the other hand, this application demonstrates excellence in performance efficiency, particularly the online queuing feature which is considered fast, practical, and helps users save time. Based on a SWOT analysis, this study recommends strengthening the authentication system infrastructure and improving data synchronization to minimize access barriers and increase user trust. These findings are expected to serve as a strategic reference for digital healthcare managers in improving service quality, user retention, and community satisfaction in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The restaurant industry in Indonesia has experienced rapid growth alongside technological advancements and digitalization. Innovations in service, marketing, and operations have become key factors in improving business performance amid intense competition. SMEs such as Warung Makan Mantap Jaya in Yogyakarta need to implement the right strategies to adapt, enhance customer satisfaction, and strengthen their competitiveness. This study aims to formulate data-driven performance improvement strategies by integrating the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), Clustering, Association Rule–Market Basket Analysis (AR-MBA), and Classification methods using data from 150 respondents. The results indicate that, based on the AHP method, renovating the premises is the top priority with the highest weight of 0.389, followed by discount innovations (0.365) and menu promotions (0.235). Clustering analysis identified three customer segments with distinct characteristics, where the majority of customers fall into the dissatisfied group, characterized by low visit frequency, low spending, and dissatisfaction with service. Meanwhile, some customers exhibit high satisfaction levels with higher visit frequency and spending. AR-MBA analysis identified purchasing patterns that generated menu bundling recommendations, such as combinations of Iced Tea, Chicken with Water Spinach, and Bakwan; Fried Egg and Mineral Water; and Soy Sauce Chicken and Tea Juice. Additionally, a classification method was used to predict customer satisfaction levels based on the resulting data patterns
