Abstract

PT. GE Lighting Indonesia is a manufacturing company that producing lamp. In generally, PT. GE Lighting Indonesia’s producing line consists of 5 machines with buffer allocation storage between machine that have early capacity of buffer1= 1225 units, buffer2= 915 units, buffer3=820 units, and buffer4=545 units. The allocation of these buffer is definetely done with purpose to place output from machine before processed to the next machine. Time difference process in every machine make the stream of production process become less fluent and affecting less maximal throughput. Other cause that making the throughput of production line process less maximal is machine damage factor. Although the preventive maintenance policy is applied in PT. GE Lighting Indonesia remain to be the machine damage cannot be obviated at production process take place. This research will try to redetermine the buffer allocation in PT. GE Lighting Indonesia in order to make the production process more fluent, so that can increase the throughput in production line. The method that is use to redetermine the buffer allocation is simulation approach. The reason why the author use this method is because there wasn’t found a representative and valid analytical model that match with the system. The simulation is done with Promodel 4.0 software. Based on the experiment design and running of simulation, it’s achieved a conclusion that the best alternative buffer capacity is at 900 units (buffer1, buffer2, buffer3, buffer4 has a same capacity at 900 units) with average throughput at 9.651 units/shift. While in the early buffer capacity only produce as many as 9.207 units/shift. Finally, if it’s compared with the early condition, redetermining the buffer allocation can increase the throughput of production line process equal to 444 units/shift.

Abstract

One of the factors to increase the competitiveness is the price of product. One of the factors that affect the product price is inventory cost. Shortages inventory can result in the cessation of the production process so that inventory is one of crucial issue in the company's operation while overstock had an effect on high costs. This research aimed to obtain integrated inventory model between products and packaging materials to minimize the total cost of inventory at PT Indomex Dwijaya Lestari considering safety stock. Data used in this research are the major and minor setup cost, production cost (one cardboard products) , sales data of mineral water for cup and bottle products from January 2011-April 2013 , data of production bottle mineral water for cup and bottle products from January 2011-April 2013, and the price of packaging materials . Then, data is processed to obtain the minimum inventory cost by using a phased approach and the simultaneous approach (using the software LINGO 11.0) for inventory model that considers safety stock and inventory model without considering the safety stock. Results of this research obtained an integrated inventory model between products and packaging materials that considering safety stock and without considering safety stock in PT Indomex Dwijaya Lestari. Based on the calculation, the result is valid. The proposed inventory costs are cheaper than the company's current inventory costs. The cost of the company's current inventory is Rp. 15.020.370,09 considering safety stock per month . Inventory costs in the company without considering safety stock is Rp 13.651.301,74 per month. The cost of inventory using gradual approach is Rp. 4.328.441,38 per month considering safety stock and Rp. 2.745.085,15 per month without considering safety stock. The cost of inventory using the simultaneous approach is Rp. 3.543.637,00 per month considering safety stock and Rp. 3.543.637,00 per month without considering safety stock.

Abstract

PT. Monang Sianipar Abadi (MSA Kargo) Surakarta had experienced problems such as delays in delivery of goods. One cause of the delay problem is there are two places for the delivery of goods, which is headquarters in Pawulan, Colomadu and warehouse located near Airport Adisumarmo. In connection with these problems, improvements are expected to tackle the problem of delay delivery of goods caused by places for the delivery of goods. Repairs carried out by determining the best location to be the location of office shipping the items. Determination of the place of delivery of goods using fast and accurate method is the method of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The process of determining the place of delivery of goods based on four criteria, namely within the main warehouse (warehouse near the plane at the airport Adisumarmo), ease of access by customers, building area, and the availability of facilities. Based on the results obtained total global priority, then the decision can be taken the nicest locations in determining the location of the office is the location S2 is in Pawulan, Colomadu because it has the highest total global priorities, namely 0.638. However, the site has the disadvantage that the distance is far enough away from the main warehouse so it can be added to a solution is by adding a fleet of delivery.

Abstract

This paper proposes Cluster method to determine warehouse number and location of CV. Lidah Buaya Detergent Cream. This Cluster method consist of two algorithms. The fist is used to determine the number of warehouse and the second is used to determine potential warehouse location. On the first algorithm, calculation of total logistic costs is started with warehouses placement at every market area. The number of warehouse reduced one by one, so will be found market area grouping based on proximate distance. The number of optimal warehouse obtained from the calculation of minimum total logistic costs. Potential warehouse location calculated by using central of gravity.

Abstract

In this paper we developed a single buyer-single manufacturer-single supplier inventory model where there are multiple deliveries for one buyer’s order and the manufacturer produces in a multiple integer of deliveries quantity. We consider a lot size of raw material procurement which can be split from production batch. From numerical example we found that a value of material conversion factor and delivery frequency influences the total inventory cost. A high value of material conversion factor would make the buyer’s total inventory cost increase and the manufacturer’s total inventory costdecrease. High frequency of delivery would make the buyer’s total inventory cost decrease and the manufacture’s total inventory cost increase.

Abstract

Production planning is a process to determine number of production in a particular period to fulfill consumers orders according to the available production capacity. Production planning by combining Integer Linear Programming (ILP) and simulation is done in iterative way. ILP has an objective function to minimize cost, which has a number of methods, such as reguler production capacity, overtime production capacity and inventory constrain, for each type of tyres for monthly during constraints in three month (January – March 2004). Simulation model representes stochastic events on the production floor, so that actual production capacity is obtained. On each iteration, number of production was compared with the available capacity from the result of simulation model. If the simulated number of production is more than or equal to the available capacity, the iteration need an adjustment capacity. And then, if the simulated number of production is less than the available capacity, the iteration is stopped, so that the number of production proper with the actual capacity is obtained.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is redesign the ceramic’s appliance using activator in unidirectional movement base on anthropometri approach as a effort to decrease the work load. The object of this research are workers in Pagerjurang Ceramic Center of Bayat village, Klaten. The redesign steps consist of four steps, this are evaluating the old appliance; determining the new appliance’s specification; technique calculation; and cost calculation. The redesign result is an ceramic’s appliance which the dimension is 73 cm for the high, 60 cm for the wide, and 106 cm for the length. In the length dimension, there are space for the clay material at the left side and space for the ceramics at the right side of the worker. The new appliance activator consist of pedal (kick wheel with manually) and the main energy transmission system using kriwil chain. Pedal related to the chain and spiral spring so that enable the unidirectional foot movement. From the physiology of work show that there is reducing work load when the sample workers tried the new ceramic’s appliance.
