Abstract

Paradigma pendidikan pada abad 21 telah mengalami pergeseran, salah satu komponen pentingnya adalah tolls for working dalam pembelajaran harus berorientasi pada information literacy dan ICT literacy. Atas dasar hal tersebut, dalam pembelajaran/ perkuliahan khususnya biologi diperlukan adanya integrasi penggunaan teknologi. Blended learning adalah salah satu program perkuliahan yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengadaptasikan kompetensi abad 21. Tujuan implementasi program perkuliahan biologi berbasis blended learning adalah untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep mahasiswa melalui kemudahan akses informasi; melatih higher order tinking skills mahasiswa (berpikir kritis, kreatif, pemecahan masalah, komunikasi dan argumentasi); melatih literasi mahasiswa, terutama literasi ICT yang digunakan dalam perkuliahan. Dalam implementasi program tersebut diperlukan strategi evaluasi yang tepat, agar pelaksanaannya dapat dimonitoring dan dievaluasi dengan baik. Model CIPP (contect, input, process dan product) merupakan strategi evaluasi yang relevan, karena memiliki relevansi karakteristik antara model CIPP dengan program yang dirancang. Program perkuliahan blended learning dievaluasi secara komprehensif dengan model evaluasi CIPP, mulai dari kesiapan pra pelaksanaan program, pelaksanaan, hingga diperoleh produk. Hasil evaluasi dari program ini dijadikan sebagai rekomendasi bagi pemangku kebijakan untuk mengambil keputusan terhadap keberlanjutan program yang dirancang. Evaluation Strategy of Biology Course Program Based on Blended Learning. The educational paradigm of the 21st century has been shifting, one of the important components is tools for working in learning must be oriented to information literacy and ICT literacy. On the basis of this, in the learning/ lectures, especially biology required the integration of the use of technology. Blended learning is one of the course programs that can be applied to adopt 21st-century competency. The purpose of the implementation of biology course program based on blended learning is to improve students mastery of the concept through ease of access to information; training higher order thinking skills of students (critical thinking, creative, problem solving, communication and argumentation); train student literacy, especially ICT literacy used in lectures. In the implementation of the program requires appropriate evaluation strategy, so that its implementation can be monitored and evaluated properly. The CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, and Product) is a relevant evaluation strategy because it has characteristic relevance between the CIPP model and the designed program. Blended learning lecture program is evaluated comprehensively with CIPP evaluation model, ranging from pre-program preparation, implementation, to the product. The results of the evaluation of this program serve as a recommendation for stakeholders to make decisions on the sustainability of the designed program.

Abstract

Pembelajaran materi Animalia secara kontekstual menjadi salah satu solusi untuk mempermudah memahami materi Animalia. Selain itu, penggunaan modul dan model pembelajaran Level of Inquiry (LoI) diharapkan dapat membantu mempelajari materi Animalia. Tujuan penelitian ini, yaitu untuk mengetahui: (1) karakteristik modul Animalia kontekstual berbasis LoI, (2) kelayakan modul Animalia kontekstual berbasis LoI. Metode penelitian menggunakan sembilan langkah model penelitian dan pengembangan Borg & Gall. Data yang diperoleh yaitu data hasil validasi ahli, validasi praktisi pendidikan, dan hasil uji coba dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian dan pengembangan menunjukkan bahwa modul Animalia kontekstual berbasis LoI dikembangkan sesuai sintaks LoI.  Modul Animalia kontekstual berbasis LoI dinyatakan layak oleh ahli materi sebesar 85%, ahli pengembangan desain dan keterbacaan modul 91,07%, ahli perangkat pembelajaran 82%, ahli bahasa 81%, praktisi pendidikan 89,42%, dan siswa 87,67%. Hasil uji operasional diperoleh bahwa nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi (73,34) daripada kelas kontrol (65,93) dan terdapat perbedaan signifikansi dengan nilai signifikansi 0,02.Feasibility Test Animalia Contextual Module Based on Level of Inquiry for Senior High School Students’ in Coastal Area. Contextual learning was one of the solutions to facilitate Animalia’s subject matter. Furthermore, module and Level of Inquiry Model were expected to facilitate in learning Animalia subject matter. This study aim to determine (1) characteristics Animalia contextual module based on LoI, and (2) feasibility of Animalia contextual module based on LoI. The research used nine step of Borg & Gall’s research and development model. The data were collected from expert validation, educational practitioner validation, and operational test. The data were analyzed quantitative descriptive. Results of research and development show that the LoI-based contextual Animalia modules developed according to the syntax of the LoI. Module-based contextual Animalia LoI declared eligible by subject matter experts by 85%, expert module development, design and readability of 91.07%, a learning device 82%, 81% linguists, education professionals 89.42%, and 87.67% students. The operational test results obtained that the average value of the experimental class posttest is higher (73.34) than the control class (65,93) and there is a significant difference with the significance value of 0,02.

Abstract

Pembelajaran yang diterima mahasiswa calon guru biologi harus mendorong untuk berpikir kritis dan mampu menjadi problem solver. Salah satu pembelajaran yang secara teoritis dapat menstimulasi berpikir kritis adalah model pembelajaran OIDDE (Orientation, Identify, Discussion, Decision, dan Engage in behavior). Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran OIDDE dan menganalisis peningkatan sepuluh indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis. Jenis penelitian merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan dengan Lesson Study. Subjek penelitian adalah 47 mahasiswa semester V yang menempuh mata kuliah Pengetahuan Lingkungan di Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus tindakan, setiap siklus terdiri dua kali pertemuan selama 3x50 menit. Masing-masing pertemuan dilaksanakan dengan Lesson Study yang memenuhi tahap Plan, Do, dan See serta digabungkan dengan tindakan kelas. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif, didukung dengan data kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) model pembelajaran OIDDE telah dilaksanakan sesuai sintaks, ada perbaikan proses pada tiap siklus, dan 2) kesepuluh indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis mengalami peningkatan, yaitu tujuan 16,9%, permasalahan 17,8%, menyikapi masalah 22,3%, sudut pandang 24,3%, informasi 19,5%, konsep 21,2%, asumsi 12,5%, alternatif solusi 8,1%, interpretasi 21,0%, dan implikasi 21,8%. Semua indikator pada siklus 2 berdasarkan rerata termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. OIDDE Learning Model in Environmental Science Course to Increase Critical Thinking Skills of Students of Biology Teacher Candidate. Learning received by biology teacher candidates students should encourage them to think critically and become problem solver. The learning model that theoretically could stimulate critical thinking is the OIDDE (Orientation, Identify, Discussion, Decision, dan Engage in behavior). This study aim to describe the application of OIDDE  learning model and to analyze the improvement of ten indicators of critical thinking skills. This research was a Classroom Action Research that conducted with Lesson Study. The research subject is 47 students, semester V, who take Environmental Science course in Biology Education Department, University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The study was conducted in 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings for 3x50 minutes. Each meeting is carried out with Lesson Study stages of Plan, Do, and See and combined with classroom action research. The data were analyzed descriptively qualitative supported with quantitative data. The results show that 1) OIDDE learning model has been implemented in according to syntax, the process improved in each cycle, and 2) ten indicators of critical thinking skills have increased, i.e. objective 16.9%, problem 17.8%, address the problem 22.3%, viewpoint 24.3%, information 19.5%, concept 21.2%, assumption 12.5%, alternative solution 8.1%, interpretation 21.0%, and implications 21.8%. All indicators in cycle 2 based on the average are excellent category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan Problem-based Learning (PBL) dengan suplemen komik digital terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan sikap peduli lingkungan di SMAN 1 Sedayu pada materi pencemaran lingkungan. Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimen semu dengan menggunakan pretest pos-test non-equivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Kelas X MIA2 dengan penerapan PBL disertai komik digital, kelas X MIA1 dengan penerapan PBL tanpa komik digital, kelas X MIA4 dengan penerapan pembelajaran konvensional disertai komik digital, dan kelas X MIA3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Data kemampuan pemecahan masalah diperoleh dari pretest dan post-test, sedangkan data sikap peduli lingkungan diperoleh dari angket. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal pretest dan post-test sebanyak enam soal, dengan validitas berada pada INFIT MNSQ ≥0,77 sampai ≤1,30. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan ANCOVA. Penerapan PBL dengan suplemen komik digital memberikan pengaruh yang terbaik terhadap hasil kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan sikap peduli lingkungan dibandingkan dengan penerapan PBL tanpa komik digital, penerapan pembelajaran secara konvensional ditambah dengan komik digital, dan kelas kontrol. Application of PBL with Digital Comic Supplements on Problem-Solving Abilities and Environmental Awareness. This study aims to determine the effect of Problem-based Learning (PBL) implementation with digital comic supplements on the ability of problem-solving and environmental awareness in SMAN 1 Sedayu on environmental pollution subject. This research was a quasi-experiment using pretest post-test non-equivalent control group design. Respondents were determined by purposive sampling technique. Class X MIA2 used the application of PBL with digital comics, class X MIA1 used the application of PBL without digital comics, MIA4 X used the application of conventional learning with digital comic, and class X MIA3 as control class. The data of problem-solving ability was obtained from pretest and post-test, while environmental awareness data was obtained from the questionnaire. The research instrument was six questions as pretest and post-test, with validity is INFIT MNSQ ≥0,77 until ≤1,30. Research data were analyzed using ANCOVA. The application of PBL with digital comic supplements gives the best effect on the results of problem-solving abilities and environmental awareness compared to the application of PBL without digital comics, conventional learning applications with digital comics, and control classes.

Abstract

Strategi penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran berupa game edukasi yang diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh informasi tentang kebutuhan game edukasi, persepsi terhadap game edukasi dan format sajian game edukasi menurut guru dan peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survey untuk mengetahui data awal yang merupakan proses dari pengembangan produk game edukasi. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar angket dan lembar wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang akan digunakan adalah teknik analisis statistik deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Sekolah yang dijadikan sampel penelitian adalah 15 sekolah yang tersebar di Kabupaten Banyumas. Masing-masing sekolah dipilih 4 guru yaitu 2 guru IPA dan 2 guru Matematika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru dan siswa di SMP Kab. Banyumas memiliki persepsi yang baik terhadap game edukasi MIPA. Kebutuhan game edukasi menurut guru adalah game berisi soal evaluasi dan simulasi sedangkan game bertipe petualangan dibutuhkan oleh siswa. Format game edukasi yang dikembangkan harus memperhatikan aspek tampilan, konten dan keterjangkauan game, sedangkan menurut siswa game yang disusun sebaiknya menantang dan menarik. Needs Analysis of MIPA Educational Game. Using digital educational game is one of strategy to integrate learning by technology. The purpose of this study is to find out information about the need for educational games and educational game format according to teachers and students.  The survey was applied in this research. The school that was used as research sample was 15 schools. The instruments used are questionnaires and interview sheets. The questionnaires were validated regarding content and construct by experts. The quantitative descriptive analysis was used to analyze the results of questionnaires while qualitative descriptive analysis was used to analyze the results of the interview. The results of the study show that teachers and students in junior high school in Banyumas have a good perception of educational games MIPA. The need for educational games according to the teachers are evaluation games and simulation while students require the type of adventure game. According to teachers, the educational game format should pay attention to the display, content and affordability aspects of the game, whereas according to the students the compiled games should be challenging and exciting.

Abstract

Kemampuan menyusun scientific papers dari hasil penelitian merupakan salah satu kemampuan dasar yang harus dimiliki oleh mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan mahasiswa calon guru biologi dalam menyusun scientific papers hasil investigasi di laboratorium. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada mahasiswa calon guru biologi (n=15). Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa lembar observasi kemampuan membuat scientific papers dan pedoman wawancara. Adapun aspek yang dinilai dari kemampuan membuat scientific papers: mengonstruksi judul, membuat abstrak, menyusun pendahuluan, merancang metodologi penelitian, menyajikan hasil penelitian, menyajikan gambar yang ditampilkan, pembahasan dan kualitas sitasi yang digunakan di dalam scientific papers. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan mahasiswa dalam membuat scientific papers masih rendah, hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari rata-rata persentase penguasaan kemampuan yang hanya 31%. Perlu ada upaya untuk mengembangkan kemampuan ini yang terintegrasi dengan program perkuliahan dalam upaya untuk mengembangkan kemampuan membuat scientific papers mahasiswa.The ability to construct a scientific papers from is one of the basic skills that must be owned by students. This study aims to determine the ability of prospective biology teacher in construct scientific papers of laboratory investigation. This research was conducted on prospective biology teacher (n = 15). The instrument used in this research is an observation sheet of the ability to construct a scientific papers. The aspects assessed from the ability to create a scientific papers are: ability to construct the title, to make an abstract, to prepare a preliminary, to design a research methodology, to present the results of research, to present the displayed images, the discussion and the quality of citation used in scientific papers. The results showed that the ability of students in construct scientific papers is still low, it can be seen from the average percentage of mastery skills that only 31%. There needs to be an effort to develop this capability that is integrated with the lecture program in an effort to develop students scientific writing skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis ketersediaan, kondisi dan kendala dalam pemanfaatan media Komponen Instrumen Terpadu (KIT) dalam pembelajaran IPA di SD Negeri Kec. Siulak Mukai dan SDN Kec. Siulak. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian survei. Instrumen yang digunakan lembar observasi dan angket. Hasil penelitian ketersediaan media KIT IPA di SD Negeri Kecamatan Siulak Mukai lebih banyak daripada di SD Negeri Kecamatan Siulak, sedangkan kondisi media KIT IPA di SD Negeri Kecamatan Siulak lebih baik daripada di SD Negeri Kecamatan Siulak Mukai. Ketersediaan dan kondisi media KIT IPA di kedua kecamatan tersebut pada umumnya sudah memungkinkan untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Adapun kendala yang di alami dalam pemanfaatan media KIT IPA antara lain sulitnya memilih jenis alat yang akan digunakan serta keterampilan guru yang masih kurang dalam memanfaatkan media KIT IPA. Analysis of Availability, Condition, and Constraints in the Use of Integrated Component Media in Primary Schools.This research aims to analyze availability, condition and the obstacles for utilization the Integrated of Instrument Components media (KIT) the learning of science at Elementary schools in District  Siulak Mukai and at Elementary schools in District  Siulak. The research applied a descriptive method which included survey forms. Instruments used observation sheets and quesioner. The result of the research  showed that the availability of Integrated Instrument Components media (KIT) of natural science at Elementary schools at District  Siulak Mukai was much higher than at Elementary schools at District  Siulak, while as the condition of Integrated Instrument Components media (KIT) of natural science at Elementary schools in District Siulak was better than at Elementary schools in District  Siulak Mukai. The availability and condition of Integrated Instrument Components media (KIT) of natural science in both sub-districts are generally possible to be used in the learning process. The obstacles are founded in the utilization of Integrated Instrument Components media (KIT) of natural science, such as the difficulty in choosing equipment type which will be used. Then, teacher’s skills are still lack in utilizing the Integrated Instrument Components media (KIT) of natural science.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan komik yang valid, praktis, dan efektif pada pokok bahasan sistem peredaran darah kelas 8. Penelitian dilakukan dalam tiga tahap yaitu define, desigen, develop. Pengambilan data menggunakan instrumen antara lain lembar validasi, angket keterbacaan, soal pre-test post-test, dan angket respon siswa. Uji coba produk dilakukan dengan uji coba terbatas dan uji coba kelompok besar. Subjek uji coba yaitu 35 siswa kelas 8A SMPN 1 Kalibaru Banyuwangi. Hasil analisis terhadap aspek validitas buku komik mencapai kriteria sangat valid, aspek kepraktisan buku komik memiliki kriteria sangat baik dan menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar buku komik tergolong praktis, aspek keefektifan buku komik masuk dalam kategori sedang. Bahan ajar buku komik sistem peredaran darah ini memiliki kriteria sangat valid, praktis dan efektif, sehingga dapat diimplementasikan secara luas dalam pembelajaran.Development of The Circulatory System Comic Book. This research aims to produce comics that valid, practical, and effective on the subject of the circulatory system grade 8. The research was conducted in three stages ie define, design, develop. The data were collected by using instrument include validation sheet, questionnaire, pre-test and post-test, and student response questionnaire. Product trials were conducted with limited trials and large group trials. The subjects were 35 students of grade 8A SMPN 1 Kalibaru Banyuwangi. The result of the analysis on the comic book validity aspect reached the criterion very valid, the practicality aspect has very good criteria and practical, the effectiveness aspect was in the medium category. The material of this circulation comic book has very valid criteria, practical and effective, so it can be implemented widely in learning.

Program perkuliahan blended learning dievaluasi secara komprehensif dengan model evaluasi CIPP, mulai dari kesiapan pra pelaksanaan program, pelaksanaan, hingga diperoleh produk. Hasil evaluasi dari program ini dijadikan sebagai rekomendasi bagi pemangku kebijakan untuk mengambil keputusan terhadap keberlanjutan program yang dirancang. Evaluation Strategy of Biology Course Program Based on Blended Learning. The educational paradigm of the 21st century has been shifting, one of the important components is tools for working in learning must be oriented to information literacy and ICT literacy. On the basis of this, in the learning/ lectures, especially biology required the integration of the use of technology. Blended learning is one of the course programs that can be applied to adopt 21st-century competency. The purpose of the implementation of biology course program based on blended learning is to improve students' mastery of the concept through ease of access to information; training higher order thinking skills of students (critical thinking, creative, problem solving, communication and argumentation); train student literacy, especially ICT literacy used in lectures. In the implementation of the program requires appropriate evaluation strategy, so that its implementation can be monitored and evaluated properly. The CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, and Product) is a relevant evaluation strategy because it has characteristic relevance between the CIPP model and the designed program. Blended learning lecture program is evaluated comprehensively with CIPP evaluation model, ranging from pre-program preparation, implementation, to the product. The results of the evaluation of this program serve as a recommendation for stakeholders to make decisions on the sustainability of the designed program.

Abstract

Pembelajaran yang diterima mahasiswa calon guru biologi harus mendorong untuk berpikir kritis dan mampu menjadi problem solver. Salah satu pembelajaran yang secara teoritis dapat menstimulasi berpikir kritis adalah model pembelajaran OIDDE (Orientation, Identify, Discussion, Decision, dan Engage in behavior). Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran OIDDE dan menganalisis peningkatan sepuluh indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis. Jenis penelitian merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan dengan Lesson Study. Subjek penelitian adalah 47 mahasiswa semester V yang menempuh mata kuliah Pengetahuan Lingkungan di Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus tindakan, setiap siklus terdiri dua kali pertemuan selama 3x50 menit. Masing-masing pertemuan dilaksanakan dengan Lesson Study yang memenuhi tahap Plan, Do, dan See serta digabungkan dengan tindakan kelas. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif, didukung dengan data kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) model pembelajaran OIDDE telah dilaksanakan sesuai sintaks, ada perbaikan proses pada tiap siklus, dan 2) kesepuluh indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis mengalami peningkatan, yaitu tujuan 16,9%, permasalahan 17,8%, menyikapi masalah 22,3%, sudut pandang 24,3%, informasi 19,5%, konsep 21,2%, asumsi 12,5%, alternatif solusi 8,1%, interpretasi 21,0%, dan implikasi 21,8%. Semua indikator pada siklus 2 berdasarkan rerata termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik.OIDDE Learning Model in Environmental Science Course to Increase Critical Thinking Skills of Students of Biology Teacher Candidate. Learning received by biology teacher candidates students should encourage them to think critically and become problem solver. The learning model that theoretically could stimulate critical thinking is the OIDDE (Orientation, Identify, Discussion, Decision, dan Engage in behavior). This study aim to describe the application of OIDDE learning model and to analyze the improvement of ten indicators of critical thinking skills. This research was a Classroom Action Research that conducted with Lesson Study. The research subject is 47 students, semester V, who take Environmental Science course in Biology Education Department, University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The study was conducted in 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings for 3x50 minutes. Each meeting is carried out with Lesson Study stages of Plan, Do, and See and combined with classroom action research. The data were analyzed descriptively qualitative supported with quantitative data. The results show that 1) OIDDE learning model has been implemented in according to syntax, the process improved in each cycle, and 2) ten indicators of critical thinking skills have increased, i.e. objective 16.9%, problem 17.8%, address the problem 22.3%, viewpoint 24.3%, information 19.5%, concept 21.2%, assumption 12.5%, alternative solution 8.1%, interpretation 21.0%, and implications 21.8%. All indicators in cycle 2 based on the average are excellent category.
