Abstract

Ratéb Meuseukat is one of the variety of dance in Aceh; its lyrics and songs contain the messages of Islamic education, moral values, as well as direction to take a better life. Ratéb Meusekat dance is interesting to be studied because it is a folk dance that serves not only as an entertainment tool, but also as a media of Islamic Education. The researcher applied the descriptive–qualitative approach in this research that was intended to describe the presentation form and the messages contained in the Ratéb Meusekat dance. As data collecting method, the researcher did the observation, interview and document recording. In this study the researcher directly observed the process of Ratéb Meusekatdance in Lempia studio. The result of this research indicated that the Ratéb Meusekat dance contained of Islamic Educational messages by means the value of faith such as always remember Allah SWT, selawat to our Prophet and remember death. The value of worship is reflected in always being grateful;Then the message of moral valuecan be done by, for example,honoring the guest; The last value is the social relationship that can be applied by obeying the rule and by honoring the hero.

Abstract

Al-naḥwu is often claimed as a difficult material in Arabic Instruction, not only for beginners but also for those who have learned it for years. It is probably caused by the habit of memorizing the terminology of Al-naḥwu without knowing how to use it. Besides, there are some exceptions related to al-naḥwu to be memorized by the user of the language. This article will explain about how to design and teach effectively al-naḥwu to the students to ease the learner to use it.

Abstract

The Indonesian educational system should guarantee that educational institutions in all levels not only train their students’ cognitive ability but also develop their affective domain. This important domain can be developed through various strategies, one of which is through shaping students’ soft-skills. This classroom research was conducted to identify strategies implemented by a particular bilingual school in Banda Aceh, in its attempt to develop students’ soft-skills. Having interviewed four teachers and the school principal, observed classroom, and analyzed documents, such as learning module and syllabus, we found that the teachers use various strategies in developing students’ soft-skills, one of which is through inviting students to participate in learning process and to engage in outdoor activities; promoting democratic dialogues; showing empathy and appreciation, and also presenting good examples are seen as important strategies to develop soft-skills.

Abstract

The education for Moslem should be based on the Islamic educational philosophy. In fact, nowadays the education tends to follow the western or non-moeslem education style. The factors affecting this among others are: there are some physical and mental colonization which occurred in the whole country which has the majority of moeslem society in the past. Besides, there are some values among moeslem themselves after they are assimilated with other thoughts and culture. Both factors are facing and will be faced by Moslems continuously. This condition is very dangerous for Moslems. To reduce or at least to minimize the danger for Moslems society, one way to solve the problem is through educational Islamization at school. The main contraint is good will from government and society. Besides, the teacher competency is still low and also lack of proper references. The islamization process will work well with the support from many people.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the student perceptions of plagiarism and the reasons that led to plagiarism in the students’ assignments. The population of the study included the students of English Education Department at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, with 166 students randomly selected as the sample. Questionnaire was used as the instrument for collecting data. The data were then analyzed with the SPSS in order to obtain their descriptive statistics. The results of the study showed that there were various students’ perceptions about the notion of plagiarism and the underlying reasons for their plagiarism. It was generally understood that plagiarism wa the use of words/ideas of others recognized as one’s own. Further, the major causes of plagiarism in the assignments were due to lack of English language skills and lack of time management. In addition, the behaviors of lecturers and the university involvement in socializing the concept of plagiarism also became the causes for the higher proportion of academic dishonesty among the students. These findings are expected to be the input for the creation of campus policy so that academic integrity and better lecture system can be achieved in any university.

Abstract

Tgk. Muhammad Daud Beureueh was one of the leaders of Aceh who had a great contribution in developing Acehnese civilization. Besides known as an Islamic scholar, he was also known as a key person who developed education in Aceh. His educational ideas were not merely to educate young people to become academic community, but have political goals to provoke them to become a pioneer of the independence. Abstract

To recite the verses of al-Qur’an repeatedly and arrangeably is an appropriate way to maintain and to bear in mind in such for a long time. In line to this, the method of takrar is strongly believed as the proper way. The implementation of the method of takrar is closely to deal with the learning method to achieve the target. By doing so, the process of bearing in mind the verses of al-Qur’an cannot be simply separated from one’s memories happened in the past and can be re conjured up through that way. The method of takrar is much easier to do by reciting the verses gradually and repeatedly to achieve maximum target. In fact, this process is strongly to do with the process of teaching taught by the angel Gabriel to the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him). For the time being, the prophet was illiterate and Gabriel insisted the prophet recite the verses till three times but it eventually did not work. After all, the angel kept teaching him to recite them more and more and finally it worked. In addition, the implementation of the method of takrar is aimed at sustainably maintaining the purity and the existence of al-Qur’an besides having other three functions among other things are to receive self-learning, to produce self-learning and to secure self-learning.

Abstract

Ibrah is a condition in which someone reach an abstract knowledge from a concrete onethrough observation and contemplation to know the core of certain problem by observing, testifying, considering, measuring and deciding logically until having the conclusion that can affect someone’s heart to obey Allah. In Al Quran, there are various instances of Ibrah depend on the object of ibrah itself such as in the form of story, story of Allah’s creatures, story of His grace, and also in the form of historical events. One of ibrah that is found in Al Quran is a dialogue between Prophet Ibrahim and his father in Surah Maryam verse 42-48.

Abstract

Problem solving, as the high mental activity in tackling mathematical problem should be a main concern to all respected parties. Facts and data in the field show students face a hard situation in solving math problems. Therefore, it requires an alternative solution to optimize student’s problem-solving capacity, one of them through scientific approach. Moreover, this approach builds student’s competencies in solving math problem through knowledge empowerment of critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills of students to solve the problems with a systematic and measurable way. In addition, the objectives of this research are (1) higher problem-solving skills, taught by scientific approach than those taught by realistic mathematical approach to trigonometric material, and (2) student’s response to problem solving ability through scientific approach on trigonometric material. The research population is all students of grade X SMAN 1 and the sample is the student who is in the grade X MIPA3 and grade IV MIPA by using cluster random sampling technique. This experimental study created by Posttest-only Control Design. This study also uses questionnaire and math problem solving test as the data collection. The result of research shows that (1) Statistical test of t-test on right side was obtained tcount 2,76 and ttable=1,65, and tcount > ttable then accept H1 reject H0 (2) Student response to approach 3,21. Thus, it is conclude that (1) the higher mathematical problem solving skills are taught through a scientific approach rather than the problem-solving skills taught by realistic mathematical approaches. (2) student’s response to the scientific approach of this category is very positive.

Abstract

The globalization era which is full of challenges couldnot be avoided. Therefore, the educational institutions, especially islamic education, should be able to answer those challenges in order to change the direction of educational orientation. One of figures who is serious in building educational thinking paradigm is A. Malik Fadjar. This study aims to explore his educational thinking paradigm and educational concept proposed. A. Malik Fadjar faces the challenge of global era. The result of study showed that his educational thinking paradigm is holistic; in which the education is humanists, liberative, integralistics, multicultural and futuristic, either in the aspect of vision and mision, institution, management, patterns of educational interaction, curriculum, and educator. To face global era, A Malik Fadjar states that there are three big challenges, they are to protect the result achieved, anticipate the global era, and do some changes and adjustment of the national education system.
