Abstract

Songkok is an iconic product from Gresik City which is a cultural heritage rich in meaning. Therefore, maintaining songkok quality needs to be done more carefully in order to maintain the integrity of this product in an increasingly competitive industry. Two Pendopo MSMEs are one of the largest songkok producing MSMEs in Gresik. However, this business is facing problems with the number of defective products produced. The purpose of this study is to minimize songkok production defects in MSMEs Two Pendopo. This research uses the seven tools method. With a total production of 4,250 units carried out over 25 working days, it was found that the largest defect was in irregular threads (4.6%). Control charts are used to monitor production variability. Remedial action involves training workers, repair of yarn material, and better environmental conditions. Periodic monitoring and evaluation is implemented to control product quality effectively.

Abstract

Indonesia has salt resources in seawater along the Java Sea coast. However, the high salt content in seawater causes difficulties for various industries that use seawater as their raw material. A Taguchi experimental design using TUF filters was carried out to determine the best TUF filter composition in producing high-quality salt. The factors considered were the compositions of three materials, namely crushed coral, charcoal, and palm fibers. The results obtained for the sample filters were analyzed using one-way ANOVA, Minitab, and the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) method. The optimal TUF filter composition was found to be 450g finely crushed coral, 350g finely crushed charcoal, and 30g palm fibers. The study results revealed that the best factor for improving salt quality was crushed coral, with a contribution of 65.63842% and an F-value of 109.3333. Charcoal also provided a significant contribution of 24.40453% with an F-value of 40.65041. However, palm fibers did not contribute significantly to improving salt quality. The optimal TUF filter composition can help improve salt quality and increase productivity while reducing costs for various industries such as food production and preservation. The optimal composition of 450g of crushed coral, 350g of charcoal, and 30g of palm fibers can significantly improve the quality of salt production. In conclusion, the use of TUF filters with the optimal composition of 450g crushed coral, 350g charcoal, and 30g palm fibers can significantly improve salt quality. This study provides insight into the potential applications of TUF filters and should encourage further exploration of the technology's potential in various industries.

Abstract

Changes in work patterns after the COVID-19 pandemic have an impact on CV's daily productivity. Superior Jaya. Companies engaged in steel construction have decreased work productivity which has resulted in a decrease in company performance. This study aims to determine the relationship between work motivation, occupational health and job satisfaction on work productivity and to determine the relationship between work productivity and employee welfare. This research was conducted with a quantitative descriptive approach using Smart Pls software for SEM modeling. The results of this study found that there is a significant influence between occupational health on work productivity and there is a significant influence between work motivation on work productivity. Then there is no effect of job satisfaction on work productivity and work productivity does not have a significant effect on employee welfare. Efforts to increase work productivity can be done by improving the ergonomics of the workspace, striving for a balance between salary and workload, and increasing employee job satisfaction by providing bonuses. This research can provide efforts to improve the work environment to be more productive and also scientific confirmation of the relationship between occupational health, work motivation, and work productivity in the context of the steel construction industry.

Abstract

The application of K3 according to standards will help workers feel safe at work and can avoid potential work accidents. Lack of awareness of the application of K3 during work can result in the emergence of hazard risks for workers. The purpose of this study is to determine the types of work activities that are at risk and determine the application of work accident control efforts in the repair process on the GEOMARIN III research ship. The method used is HIRADC (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Determining Control). The identification results from the deck department and machinery department obtained 13 potential hazards with risk analysis where 4 risks included in the low risk category and 9 risks included in the medium risk category. Risk control that can be done to minimize work accidents is to inspect and maintain work equipment regularly and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) according to standards and complete consisting of safety helmets, safety shoes, safety googles, safety gloves, ear plugs and masks. This research provides concrete recommendations on how to identify and mitigate K3 risks in the repair of research vessels, as well as contributes to the development of knowledge on the application of the HIRADC method in the shipping industry.

Abstract

The problem of plastic waste has become a serious global issue due to its negative impact on the environment. IKM K2 Recycle is a distributor of plastic waste, with an average sales volume of 50 tons per month and an average supply of raw materials of 80 tons per month. Companies often experience buildup in warehouses due to lack of effective control and planning. The purpose of this study is to optimize distribution costs and avoid buildup in warehouses with the Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) method. Sales data carried out by forecasting is forwarded with distribution calculations by the DRP method. The calculation results with DRP were able to reduce distribution costs by Rp. 154,318,512 from the Company's previous calculation of Rp. 193,890,000. There is a decrease in distribution costs by a percentage of 20%. Thus, the company managed to optimize distribution costs and avoid the accumulation of goods in warehouses, which is a positive step to overcome the problem of plastic waste and negative environmental impacts.

Abstract

Koperasi Pondok Pesantren (Kopontren) Sidogiri Pasuruan menjadi wadah bagi para santri untuk mengembangkan potensi dalam dunia bisnis. PT. Sidogiri Mandiri Utama sebagai salah satu badan usaha milik Kopontren Sidogiri yang perlu diperkokoh dengan adanya diversifikasi melalui pendirian industri pengemasan minyak goreng sawit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proyeksi kelayakan industri pengemasan minyak goreng sawit. Analisa kuantitatif penelitian ini menggunakan variabel terukur yakni RC Ratio dengan data yang diperoleh melalui survey dan data yang sudah tersedia dari berbagai sumber. RC Ratio diasumsikan mampu memproyeksikan suatu industri layak untuk dioperasikan lebih lanjut. Analisis kuantitatif sebagai teknik yang memanfaatkan hasil wawancara dan data di lapangan, diperlukan keilmuan decision-making dalam memilih metode yang akan diterapkan. Pelaksanaan metode digunakan RC Ratio dengan ketersediaan data total penerimaan dan total biaya dala suatu bisnis usaha. Pada penelitian ini dapat diketahui pendapatan usaha pengemasan minyak goreng sawit yang dilakukan PT. Sidogiri Mandiri Utama dalam satu periode (1 bulan) sebesar Rp. 574.800.000. Usaha pengemasan minyak goreng sawit yang dilakukan oleh PT. Sidogiri Mandiri Utama adalah layak secara finansial, dengan nilai R/C sebesar 1,05.

Abstract

Business opportunities are increasing, determining strategic locations as a way to optimize profits. One of them, of course, is that EEC Siantar needs to expand, choose an optimal new location based on the criteria: rental price, capacity, distance to school, competitors, accessibility, distance to the pemilik's house, and population density. This study is to determine the optimal branch location of EEC with AHP. This study uses AHP to select optimal EEC Pematang Siantar course branch locations using pair comparison and priority criteria. The optimal location is selected based on the highest priority value and logistical consistency (CR < 0.1). Ease of accessibility has the highest weight (0.379), followed by buildings (0.379), closest distance to school (0.272), competitors (0.179), distance to homepemiliks (0.085), and population density (0.052). Ease of accessibility is an important factor in determining the location of a new branch. Alternative 3 has the highest final weight (0.413), ahead of Alternative 1 (0.303) and Alternative 2 (0.284). This shows that Alternative 3 has the most optimal combination of subcriteria for new branch locations. This study helps the EEC industrial course select the best new branch locations with the AHP method, increasing the market and profits.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company that focuses on providing construction materials such as ready mix concrete. The workforce is currently in decline due to the reduced prevalence of work behavior. The initial 1 hour produced 100m3 but the realization in the Company only produced 50m3. The purpose of this study was to measure the potential risk of musculoskeletal injury caused by non-ergonomic work postures. The methods used in this study are Cornell Musculoskeletal Discomfort Questionnaires (CMDQ), Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA), Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA). This study found a significant relationship between the level of musculoskeletal discomfort obtained in respondents through CMDQ with ergonomic risk factors identified through RULA and REBA analysis. These can include poor body position, repetitive movements, or excessive workload. These findings could help in the development of theories regarding ergonomics and factors related to worker health and well-being.

Abstract

JNE Kopma UNY's logistics demand increases 2% per week, the manual courier allocation system is unable to keep up, predictions are accurate and real-time is needed. However, there is no exact accuracy for this case. The study was conducted to determine the accuracy of the smallest Mean Percentage Error (MPE) at JNE Kopma UNY by observing sales data for 2022 to predict demand. The data was analyzed using the Naive Approach, SMA and WMA methods, then measured using the MPE to determine the best forecasting method. The software used is Microsoft Excel 2016. The 3 Month (SMA) produces the highest sales prediction (Rp. 38,668,850) for January 2023 compared to Naive Approach (Rp. 35,086,330) and 3 Month WMA (Rp. 37,993,380). 3 Month SMA is proven to be superior with the lowest MPE (12.07%) and consistent performance. Naive Approach is inaccurate (MPE 20.26%) and 3 Month WMA performance is unstable (MPE 14.27%). This research recommends 3 Month SMA for JNE Kopma UNY to increase the accuracy of sales predictions and optimize stock. Opportunities for further research are open regarding the application of 3 Month SMA in various contexts.

Abstract

Industrial applications widely employ powder coating to shield products from corrosion. Effective anti-corrosion coatings enhance customer satisfaction, open new markets, and withstand temperature, abrasion, and chemicals. However, powder coating and liquid paint remain options to mitigate metal damage. Corrosion behavior of coated materials exposed to strong acids was investigated to understand the influence of liquid/powder coatings and HCl/H2SO4. This study evaluated the corrosion resistance of A0-BS3 metal specimens coated with powder (AC1-AS3) and liquid (BC1-BS3) coatings against HCl and H2SO4 solutions for 7 days. Corrosion rates were calculated and compared, and surface damage was analyzed. Corrosion occurred in all materials in HCl and H2SO4. H2SO4 exhibited 25 times faster corrosion, and coatings were ineffective. Powder coating outperformed liquid paint. Acid rain can damage liquid paint. Powder coating is the preferred choice. Ongoing research aims to enhance steel corrosion resistance, compare coatings, and assess long-term effects. This study contributes significantly to combating corrosion and developing more effective and environmentally friendly anti-corrosion solutions.
