Abstract

Background : Several conditions that affect adolescent health, including adolescent reproductive health are nutritional problems. Nutritional problems that occur in adolescents include anemia and chronic lack of energy. Anemia is a decreasing quantity of red blood cells in the circulation or the amount of haemoglobin under normal limits. The challenge of anemia in young women from 37.1% in Riskedas 2013 which actually increased to 48.9% in Riskesdas 2018, with the proportion of anemia in the age group 15-24 years and 25-34 years. These things clearly reinforce that adolescent health will determine the success of health development, especially in an effort to print the quality of the nation's next generation in the future. Anemia among adolescents can be caused by a lack of macronutrient and micronutrient intake. The micronutrients are needed by the body, especially by teenagers. Insufficiency of micronutrients in the body can cause anemia. Anemia has several types, one of which is nutritional anemia. One of the causes of nutritional anemia is iron deficiency. Based on Permenkes, RI No. 88, 2014, giving blood supplement tablets is one of the important efforts in the prevention and control of anemia because it is an effective way to prevent anemia due to iron deficiency and folic acid deficiency. Blood supplement tablets are tablets that are given to the fertile and pregnant women. For fertile women, it is given once in a week and once a day during period. Purpose : To determine the effect of giving blood supplement tablets to adolescent girls to increase hemoglobin levels, so, it can be seen whether female adolescents are anemic or not. If there are many adolescents with anemia, it is expected that health workers and the community should pay more attention to the importance of anemia-free of adolescents to prevent stunting. Therefore, there many healthy generations born in Cirebon .Method : This study uses a quasi-experimental design, where there is a treatment of giving blood supplement tablets for 3 months to junior high school students who have experienced menstruation whose hemoglobin levels were previously checked. After giving blood tablets for 3 months, the hemoglobin level was rechecked which involved 20 female students at Cirebon district. Result : The average of haemoglobin levels before given the treatment was 11.40 grams% with a standard deviation of 1.7634. Meanwhile the average of haemoglobin levels after given the treatment was increased 2.67 grams% to 14.07 grams% with a standard deviation of 1.3719. The result of statistical tests using the Dependent T test, p=0,000, means at 5% alpha, the final hypothesis accepted. There is a significant difference in haemoglobin levels before and given the treatment (giving the blood supplement tablet). This means there is an effect of giving the blood supplement tablets to adolescent girls on increasing haemoglobin levels. Conclusions : There is an effect of giving blood supplement tablets to adolescent girls on increasing haemoglobin levels.

Abstract

Background: The development of an early detection guidebook for risk factors in pregnant women's complications packaged in MCH books was considered effective for health workers and mothers as guidelines for the prevention of complications. However, the use of MCH books has not been maximal. Of the 81.5% of mothers who own MCH books, only 60.5% understand it. This makes one of the causes of maternal and infant mortality is ignorance of the signs of complications. In addition, in MCH books there is only an assessment of physical disorders without judging from psychological and sociological. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to produce an MCH handbook model with addition NEW FPS (Physiological, Psychological and Sociological) factors to maximize the understanding of pregnant women and the enforcement of high potential risk diagnoses carefully and accurately. Methods: This was Research and Development (R&D) study using Borg and Gall models. The data in the study was obtained using interviews, NEW FPS questionnaires, pregnant women's response trial questionnaires. The population in this study consisted of 16 people and taken a sample of 16 respondents who were pregnant women in trimester 3 to 3 years by using Simple Random Sampling technique. Results: The results showed the development of MCh handbooks with the addition of FPS variabels effectively used as one of the efforts in early detection of pregnancy and childbirth with percentage results: physiological (56.2%) psychological (62.5%) and sociological (68.7%). Based on the results, the response of pregnant women to trials in the development of MCH handbooks obtained an average percentage (87%), the addition of FPS variabels to MCH handbooks was effectively used as an effort to early detection of pregnancy and childbirth complications. The fulfillment of these three aspects can increase the achievement of the MCH program in the early screening of complications. Conclusions: This study concludes that the addition of NEW FPS variabels in MCH handbooks is feasible and effectively used as one of the media to conduct early detection of the occurrence of pregnancy and childbirth.

Abstract

Background: Pregnancy/Antenatal Care (ANC) services are the main factors in determining delivery outcomes including early detection of risk factors and also determining early treatment for pregnant women who experience complications during pregnancy. The quality of quality pregnancy services depends on the characteristics of health workers who provide services, the characteristics consist of age, educational qualifications, training and length of work. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the relationship between the characteristics of midwives in pregnancy services and patient satisfaction. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional analytical research design, namely the measurement of independent and dependent variables at the same time. The sample in this study were all midwives who worked at the Soreang District Health Center, namely 18 midwives. The midwives studied conducted examinations of 8 patients each for each pregnancy examination. Data collection techniques were carried out by filling out patient satisfaction questionnaires by pregnant women and observing pregnancy services by trained personnel using a pregnancy service checklist sheet. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by chi square test and multivariable multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: The results showed that there was a correlation between the characteristics of midwives and pregnancy services, namely the training indicator in a bivariable manner significantly affected the overall pregnancy service with a p-test of 0.007. Waiting time has a negative correlation with physical examination, laboratory, counseling and overall antenatal care with a p value of 0.002. Multivariable analysis showed that the characteristics of midwives that most influenced pregnancy care were age with p-value 0.040 [POR 1.83(1.028-3.259)], training with p-value 0.019 [POR 2.6(1.168-5.741)]. There is no relationship between pregnancy services and patient satisfaction with a p value of 0.796.Conclusion: In pregnancy services, the most influencing factors are age and training carried out by midwives. There is also a negative correlation between waiting time with physical and laboratory examinations, namely the longer the waiting time, the less physical examination services provided by midwives to patients. There is no relationship between pregnancy services and patient satisfaction.
